(Hello there, kids! It's Topaz speaking. This is my second yaoi in a 24-hour period...for being "anti-yaoi", that's pretty darn good, I'd say! Anyways, here's what you might call a bit of...well...weird fluff. Yes. This is what excessive hiking does to one... Well, anyways, I hope you enjoy! --Topaz Fox)

He woke to the sight of something he had completely forgotten about. There it was, plain as anything, suspended like an irregular chip of bone in the diamond-studded night sky. Panicking with exhilaration, he sat straight up in bed, letting the covers fall around him. The gibbous moon.

Glancing down at his hands, he saw with a growing excitement that it was true. His sharp, clever features twitched into an innocent smile. The passionate look in his small black eyes clashed brilliantly with the serene silver patina of the moonlight playing against his pallid skin and through the ragged cropped waves of his tawny-white hair. He wore nothing but a slightness of near-invisible fuzz on his forearms and chest.

Delighted, he turned to his left and felt his heart break with sickening thrill. There was another boy there, older than he, fast asleep on his side. His dark hair was everywhere, framing a fearsome triangular face. His mouth was open slightly, and his arms were tossed at wild angles like the hands of a clock at an awkward hour.

Something about this immaculate, solid creature made the boy quiver with sickness and healing at the same time…

The fair-haired boy smiled and touched his bedmate's cheek. Master Kiba always looks so peaceful when he's sleeping. Maybe because he works so hard. Fluidly he ran a finger along a high cheekbone and down toward a firmly pointed chin. It's nice to see him without all that red makeup across his face…

Without worrying much about being quiet--Kiba was a heavy sleeper, he had learned--he slid up to Kiba, positioning himself so their bodies were just barely touching. He shivered with pleasure at the warmth of his master. Practically drowning in his own bliss, he ran a hand through the other boy's hair and smiled when his action was met with an unconscious murmur.

He couldn't take it any longer. In one swift and lovely movement, the boy's gracefully anemic lips met Kiba's.

Despite what his heart told him to do, he broke the kiss quickly, just allowing himself enough time to taste his master. To his utter joy, the older boy smiled slightly in his sleep.

Time passed. The fair boy spent hours with his body against Kiba's, inhaling the majesty of his temptingly savory scent. Now more than ever, he wished he could speak in Kiba's native tongue. I spend all day living with you, fighting alongside you, sharing life with you. You act as if we're equals…but…

Inuzuku Kiba…what I wouldn't do to tell you that I love you.

Finally, the razor-edged moon had almost vanished from the open window. Seeing this, the nameless boy smiled snuggled his head against his master's combat-sculpted chest. Feeling his form dim with the moonlight, he drifted off to impossible dreams of endless happiness…

Human happiness.

The next morning, Kiba woke to see a small lump of tawny-white fur curled tightly up against him. He grinned groggily and stroked the little beast. "Akamaru," he said softly, "it's morning."

A moment passed, giving way to a languid stretching of canine limbs and a big puppy yawn. Akamaru then shook himself, stood, and yapped happily at his master, his small black eyes sparkling with admiration.

Kiba laughed and playfully nudged the dog. "Good to see you too, boy."
