casually already had this posted on Succubus Thing, but I wanted to make it a short story lmao

Lucy woke up feeling relatively normal one morning, tired and wishing she had more time to sleep. Still, she was unfortunately forced to roll out of bed to get ready for school.

Her morning routine consisted of washing her face and brushing her teeth, returning to her room to pull out and putting on her school uniform, brushing her hair and applying a light set of makeup, all before she would begin cooking breakfast and lunch for herself and her best friend.

She always woke up three hours before the time she actually had to be up by, as to have enough time to cook the massive load of food Natsu would always want. His parents graciously chipped in on her grocery bill to help the Heartfilia orphan manage the estate she now controlled.

While Lucy was still too young to have any stake in her father's company, the executives' board was away holding down the fort in her stead. They consisted of people she considered her close family, even if they couldn't meet up very often. But she was taken care of and provided for, so Lucy was unable to find any room for complaints.

There wasn't much that she knew about her parents aside from their pictures, as she was barely two when they had passed. Even the board members who took care of her didn't know much, especially when concerning their supernatural heritage.

Each person in Fiore was born with powers attributed to their family's general ancestry. This sort of thing manifested itself when a person turned thirteen, but whatever being they turned out to be was usually expected.

For example, Lucy's friend Erza was a valkyrie. All the women in her family had been born as valkyrie, so it wasn't a total surprise when one day she woke up with a massive amount of new strength and sharpened fighting skills.

But Lucy had never known her mother's origin, nor had it been recorded anywhere when lawyers went through her family papers.

It concerned them when nothing manifested in her on her thirteenth birthday, though Lucy took it as a sign of good luck. As amazing as it was to one day become a pixie or mermaid, the Heartfilia girl thought it was special for her to have stayed normal in this supernatural world.

While she had lived with Aquarius throughout the majority of her life, Lucy eventually began to live alone at the beginning of high school. The mermaid had been transferred to Hargeon for the next few years, leaving Lucy to enjoy the last of her high school days in Magnolia until college.

With breakfast plated and her own excited curiosity, Lucy took a bite from her eggs and toast, too eager to wait for Natsu to join her.

She chewed happily for a moment before swallowing, her stomach suddenly rejecting the flavor, the texture, the whole thing.

She ran to the kitchen sink, knowing there was no hope for her to get to the bathroom in time. Her stomach unloaded itself onto several of her dishes, clenching herself as the contents of last night's dinner following suit. Weakly falling to her knees after dry heaving for the next couple of moments, Lucy heard the drop of her best friend's bag on the floor.

"Holy shit, Luce! What the fuck was that, are you okay?!" She almost felt like laughing at his reaction but felt woozy with a sudden fever, clutching her head as the dizziness overcame her.

The fire dragon dropped to his knees, catching the blonde as she nearly passed out, his eyes wide and his heart pounding with worry as he felt her temperature rise.

"What were you doin' cookin' when you knew you were sick, huh? I don't have to eat that bad, geez, take care of yourself, Luce." He grumbled, carrying her over to her bedroom. "I'll stay here 'n take care of you, alright? I'll call the school and Aquarius' n clean up that mess in the sink,"

"...thank you, Natsu…" She smiled weakly as he laid her down to rest, mumbling his response before he left the room.

Lucy was never one to get sick, even if it was a day after she played in the rain and let herself get soaked to the bone, so this was very alarming. To suddenly go from healthy to this under-the-weather left her mind abuzz with concern. But she could not think of much as the onslaught of fever clouded her thoughts, the backs of her eyes too hot to let her keep them open. Her stomach at least felt fine now that it was empty, but there was still a pang for hunger that lingered.

Natsu hurriedly ate Lucy's breakfast, frowning and near tears, as he scarfed down the meal she slaved away to make for him while she was about to pass out.

"Luce is too darn good for her own well-being," Natsu sniffled through his enjoyment before taking care of her throw-up.

He went through the fridge to ensure there was enough water and fruit for her to eat once she felt well enough to try, checking the bathroom cabinet to double-check if there was medicine. Natsu was glad to see there was no reason for him to leave the house, returning to Lucy's room to check her temperature.

She was flushed and panting, her eyes shut as if she were sleeping. Natsu reached over her bed to draw the curtains closed. He then knelt by her side, resting his palm against her head to check her temperature.

"How're ya feelin'?" He asked, worried as he read her heat that seemed too abnormal for her usual condition. "Do you have a headache?"

"No... it's just really hot," She fanned herself weakly, dizzy eyes staring at the boy beside her.

"Yer almost as hot as a campfire…" He gasped, running his free hand along her neck to find her pulse. It was quickened but not out of control, her skin slick with a layer of sweat. "Luce, this ain't right for humans. You're feelin' a lot like fire and ya ain't magical! Is there anywhere else that hurts? There's gotta be,"

"N...No...I'm a little hungry...but nothing else, really…" She puffed, practical clouds of steam rising past her lips.

"Do you think it could be your powers comin' in? It's weird for them to be showin' up now if you're already seventeen," He wondered aloud, keeping his hand on her head as they spoke.

"May...maybe," Her eyes rolled shut as her head lolled similarly. "B-But I'm not sure, should...should we go to the hospital?"

"If things get really bad then I can try redirecting the heat in you. Let's wait and see if it's your powers!" She laughed softly and smiled weakly at his vibrant excited expression. "Get some more rest for me, alright? I'll be right here if it starts to hurt worse."

Lucy nodded and closed her droopy eyes, wondering if Natsu's assumption was right. Her body felt numb and light, but her skin burned as though her blood was boiling. The warmth felt comfortable in her cheeks and buzzed down to her toes. Her lips twitched and felt numb, her tongue oddly the same way.

But she ignored these strange feelings and found herself dozing off, slipping into a dizzy dream.

Natsu sat on the floor, leaning against Lucy's bed frame as he flipped through one of the random books she had. His ear was trained on her shallow breathing, so he smiled, knowing she was comfortably asleep.

He hoped that Lucy was getting her powers, he always thought it was unfair that she didn't have something like that. It defined many people as a person, but if Lucy knew what she was, she'd feel a lot closer to her mom, and he really liked that idea.

But the heat he sensed within her didn't seem like it came from a core. Rather, it just spread through her, like a natural essence. And she really didn't smell sick, so something else must have been happening.

He was startled to hear Lucy rise from her mattress, his motherly instincts kicking into overdrive.

"Oi, Luce, what'd I tell...ya…" Natsu looked at her, confused as the color of her irises were now purple instead of their usual chocolate brown. "Luce?"

She still looked feverish, but her aura seemingly changed. She stretched and wore a sultry grin, yawning before pushing away her blankets. He didn't feel like he was in the presence of his best friend any longer.

"Oi, you really needa stay in bed, it's not good for ya to—"Natsu was cut off as she pressed a finger to his lips.

"Natsu," She drew out his name with a breathy voice, beginning to unbutton her uniform top. "It's really hot in here,"

"U-Um, do you wanna change your clothes?" He gulped, wanting to pull himself away from the situation, unable to leave her sharp gaze.

"Not really," She shook her head and laughed lightly. "I think I'll feel better if I just take them off,"

"O...Okay…" It wasn't as though Natsu had never seen Lucy in her underwear before; oftentimes he would because he bathed into her room unannounced. Not to say that he was used to it, but the act of watching her remove them carefully was something he felt like he shouldn't be staring at. "Are you feelin' alright?"

"Better than ever," She sighed as she stood to unzip her skirt, her lips pulling together a lazy smirk. "I feel like I'm finally myself,"

"That's great, Luce, but you still look real sweaty, you should rest a little longer," Natsu said, goosebumps rising on his skin as she took a seat beside him.

"I'm too hungry to rest," She said as she turned to face the dragon. "Will you feed me, Natsu?"

"Sure, I-I can go make you some porridge," He began to inch away from the bearing blonde, stopping as her hand settled against her bicep.

"I don't want to eat food," She giggled, crawling forward until she made herself comfortable in his lap. "I want to eat you,"

"W-Wha…?" The dragon felt pinned in place as Lucy wrapped her arms delicately around his neck, the strangely sweet scent of her body wafting under his nose.

"Don't worry," She hummed. "I'll be gentle,"

Natsu's breath felt shallow as Lucy moved closer and closer to him, their lips meeting in an inexperienced and odd way. He collided with her puckered pair, their soft movements against his coaxing them to move. Neither of them really knew how to kiss, Natsu thought, or at least he knew that Lucy had never been kissed. So how she was so good at this, he couldn't understand.

She peppered his lips until they were ready to move with her own, one kiss, then two...before Natsu felt himself begin to forget his intentions.

Her tongue slid past his slightly open lips, coaxing his own to come out and play. She moaned as they entwined, her body grinding closely to his as their connection deepened.

Her saliva was sweet, yet it burned going down his throat. The flavor settled low in his stomach and spread to the tips of his fingers and toes. His usual bodily temperature rose, his fire pulsing and burning within him.

"Mm," He hissed as she ground her hips against the growing bulge in his pants. "Do you already feel that good?"

"It's... It's not…" He blushed and stumbled over his words, an odd fever quickly overcoming him and making his thoughts delirious. "Not...me,"

"Don't pretend like you don't feel anything," She pouted, undoing the tie of his uniform. "How can we have fun if you're not honest?"

He groaned, his head lolling to the side as Lucy began to kiss the column of his neck, her hot tongue dragging over his pulse point. Everywhere her mouth laid waste seemed to buzz and tingle, like tiny flames had been set ablaze on his skin.

"Your chest is sensitive," Lucy grinned as she dragged her teeth over his taut nipple. "That's so cute...the look on your face too, Natsu,"

"Luce…" He groaned as her hand caressed the outline of his boner, her eyes sinful as she lowered herself to it.

"You feel so warm," He flinched as her lips pressed against his soaked boxers; when had she undone his pants? "And you smell so good, I can't help myself."

"W-Wait!" His cheeks burned a bright red as her lips came fully around the tip of his length, her eyes lighting up with satisfaction.

"I can't," She shook her head and dragged her tongue along the curve of his cock. "You're delicious,"

His lips tightened in a wavering line, the dragon unable to look away from his best friend. Her eyes sinfully glared up at him as she continued to service him.

Her lips teased the tip of his dick, her tongue slowly swirling around it as he twitched. She went back down on him, moaning as her eyes watered slightly.

Natsu felt his stomach get tight, not used to the overstimulation she expertly provided.

"L-Let go, Lucy... I'm... I'm…!" He tried to push her away, Lucy swatting at his wrist as she began to suck harder. Her hand jerked the base of his cock in sync with her mouth, Natsu's head falling back as he groaned and came into her mouth.

He was overwhelmed with guilt and worry, lifting Lucy from the place between his legs as she swallowed.

"Wh-Why did you—"She cut him off with a coy kiss to his nose, shrugging as she cozied against his chest.

"I was hungry," She explained, sighing tiredly as she wrapped her arms around his torso. "Thank you for the meal,"

The dragon was frozen in his place, unable to move as his best friend purred quietly in her sleep, snuggling against him as she got comfortable.

He didn't know what to do; frankly he was still confused as to what went down. Even though it was pretty obvious...that wasn't his best friend. Well it was, but something entirely too weird was going on with her.

Wasn't she sick? She threw up and had a fever and suddenly she was fine enough to do...that?

He frowned and fixed his pants before gently lifting her in his arms, carrying Lucy back to bed. He wrapped her in his shirt, covering her up to the best of his abilities.

Should he explain to Aquarius what happened? There was no telling what the mermaid would do to Natsu, especially since the dragon didn't put up more of a fight. It all just happened way too fast.

He closed her bedroom door, going to contemplate by himself as she rested. Was this what she was? Natsu hadn't heard of a creature like that before, so he wasn't sure what to call her. Lucy's eyes were the only evidence that she'd changed in the first place.

Natsu didn't have long to think by himself; Lucy soon walking back into the living room. Her eyes were still purple, a cute pout heavy on her lips.

"Natsu," She whined, planting herself on the couch beside him, the dragon immediately scooting to the other end. "What's wrong? You left me all alone,"

"I just wanted you to rest." He gulped as she crawled towards him again, cornering him against the arm. "You should...you should really go back to bed, Lucy."

"I don't want to without you," She huffed, tugging on his arm. "Why are you avoiding me?"

"You threw up, remember? You're sick, Luce," He thanked the lord as she stopped pressing herself against him, now sat up with her arms folded.

"That's just an excuse, isn't it? What's the matter? Come to bed with me," His defense faltered as the corners of her eyes began to well with tears, her chest hiccuping as she sniffled. "I just want you to hold me. Don't you love me?"

"Of course I do," He quickly wrapped her in his arms, forgetting his reason for being cautious. "I'm sorry, please don't cry,"

"Then..." He could hear Lucy smirk, her fingers walking themselves back towards the belt of his pants. "Let's go—"

"Oi, Luce! Quit it!" He sputtered, the blonde pouting as he pushed her away.

"What? I know you liked it," She whined, trying to flash him bright puppy eyes.

"Will you just," He sighed harshly, holding the bridge of his nose as his eyebrows furrowed. "Tell me what's going on with ya, I'm really lost right now, Luce."

"I woke up," She shrugged, tugging on his hand to intertwine her fingers with his. "Is that good enough?"

"Quit playin'," He huffed with a blush, swatting away her hand as she fiddled with his belt buckle. "I'm serious. I know you're Luce, but your eyes are all purple and... you've never been this…"

"Flirty? Sexy?" She giggled, biting down on her bottom lip as she pushed her arms together to elevate her breasts. Natsu gave her a stern glare, Lucy sighing as she rolled her eyes. "Okay, I get it. I am Lucy, but I was dormant until now. We don't really choose when we wake up."

"So...what are you? You're her power?"

"In a way," She nodded. "But we're two different personalities. She does rely on me to survive, starting now."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Natsu panicked at the way she said those words so nonchalantly. "Survive? Is she in danger of dying?"

"Calm down," She laughed, enjoying the worry that twisted onto his features. "I'm a succubus, normal food doesn't give us nutrients."

Natsu tilted his head, scrunching his nose in confusion. "THe heck is a succubus?"

"It's pretty straightforward," She hummed, smirking coyly as she stared at his bare chest. "We survive on the fluid of a man. So spit, tears, other liquids…"

Natsu swatted her hand as she tried to rest it between his legs again, Lucy frowning as she crossed her arms.

"Aren't I your best friend? Let me have a snack," She whined as Natsu shook his head.

"Does Lucy know any of this? We all thought she was born without anything like the rest of us,"

"She's still asleep, she's not aware of anything yet. But I'm still Lucy, don't pretend that I'm not."

"I'm not doin' that," He sighed, familiar with the annoyed look on her face. "I just never met this side of you...okay? Not sayin' I don't like it. It's just a lot to deal with in one day. 'Specially since you keep tryna manhandle me."

"I'm hungry," She whined again, pulling on his arm. "If you're not going to feed me then I'll have to find–"

"Don't even finish that sentence," He frowned, covering her mouth with his hand. "No way am I lettin' you go out and touchin' the first guy you see."

"Just a kiss then?" Her words came out muffled, Natsu pulling away his hand with a yelp as she licked it. "I won't hurt you,"

"Does Lucy, the asleep Lucy, know what happened earlier?" He asked, the succubus letting out a frustrated groan.

"No, she's asleep," She fell back against the couch, his shirt falling open to reveal her undergarments. "Didn't I already say that?"

"I can't...I can't do anything then! We shouldn't have...we shouldn't have done anything in the first place, this is insane, I swear,"

"I'll tell her then, okay? So let me kiss you," Natsu shrieked as Lucy pushed him onto the floor, grabbing his wrists as she tried to hold him down despite his thrashing.

"Let me kiss you!" She growled, shouting as he managed to toss her off, scurrying away till he was able to get back on his feet. Lucy stood up and followed after him as he tried to escape into the bathroom, somehow unable to jiggle the handle open.

Lucy stalked up to him with an annoyed glare, tossing off his shirt as she put her hand on one hip.

"Why are you scared of me?"

"Because…" His quick breath started to slow itself down, Natsu scanning his brain for any answer that could explain his need to get away from her. "Because…"

"I think we both know how we feel about each other," Her lips pursed as his mouth hung agape, her arms successfully making their way around his neck. "So why are you scared?"

"Because…" He gulped, feeling butterflies gather in his stomach. "I never asked you out...we never confessed how we felt...I didn't even get to take you on a first date…"

Lucy felt her body respond to his sincerity, her heart weak for his timid gaze and sweet words. They were both sappy romantics. She suddenly felt guilty for chasing him around the room when she knew he was uncomfortable.

"I'm sorry," His heart skipped a beat as she laid her head tiredly against his chest. "I won't do anything, so is it okay if we take a nap together? It'd hold me over if we cuddled,"

"Sure," He smiled softly as she pulled him back towards the bedroom, his instincts no longer wary of her intentions.

Natsu wrapped his arms around Lucy, snickering as she tickled his chest with her hair.

"Hey," He said, motioning Lucy to lift her head. He pressed a ginger kiss to her forehead, sighing as he buried his nose into the crown of her hair. "I know we can't go as slow as I wanted to, but I want you to know that I'm here if you ever need me. I'll feed you whenever you want, just keep each other in the loop,"
