A/N: I'm trying to get over my phobia of Hyuugacest by writing this fanfic, as a strange way of therapy. So far, it's worked. The idea is becoming more and more interesting, and I might even like it now.

Summary: His eyes can see everything but her. (Hyuugacest)

Blind

Hinata doesn't really like Tenten.

It's not so much that she's jealous of her- of her skills or her confidence- so much as it is she pities her. Tenten doesn't and can't see things like Hinata does- her eyesight is worse than the Hyuuga's, both literally and figuratively. Tenten doesn't see that when she favors Lee over Neji, even in the small things, it hurts him. When she brings an extra water bottle for Lee, or when she cheers for him and not for Neji when the two practice together, she fails to notice the way he won't speak to Lee for the rest of the day.

Neji Hyuuga is not as emotionally detached as he would like you to believe, but Tenten seems to be fooled by the toughened exterior and the general dislike for other people. She doesn't notice that Neji smiles more at her than he ever will at Hinata; doesn't see that he starts to resent Lee for his luckiness, and for his inability to see how fortunate he is to have someone like her. And when his two teammates start to grow together and he starts to grow apart, Tenten doesn't see how much thinner he's gotten, the fact that he now looks down when he walks instead of straight ahead- how he puts up less of a fight.

Hinata can't find it in her to dislike Lee, even though he also doesn't see how much his relationship with Tenten is hurting her cousin.

It isn't his fault that Neji is hurting in the first place. Hinata might not like Lee as much as she could have, but doesn't despise him for not noticing. He's too wrapped up in his new relationship and new found happiness to have time for his now haggard and tired teammate, who seems to have been left in the dust despite his growing skill as a ninja. But no- Hinata doesn't hate Lee like she hates Tenten; it isn't his fault, after all.

Hinata also hates Tenten for not noticing the way that Neji actually goes out of his way to greet her, and then the way he looks at her when they say goodbye. For not noticing the way he talks to her like she matters, or the ways he tries to impress her with his quickly growing list of skills.

But yes, maybe she is a little jealous of the way Neji notices Tenten, and not her. When he walks into a room his eyes immediately search for her, not noticing as Hinata stutters out a greeting. Jealous because he doesn't notice she seems to be everywhere he is- even though she doesn't talk to him and he doesn't talk to her, no matter how much she wants him to. Hinata hates how his eyes, the pride of his family and the main reason for the success of his ninja career, the eyes that seem so well trained, so infinitely practiced for searching out every detail of scenery, pass over her without a second glance. She hates how he doesn't notice the way she follows his gaze across the room to his female teammate and then the way her eyes once again fall to the floor in disappointment, or maybe he does see and doesn't care, though Hinata doesn't entertain the thought for long because it makes her sick to her stomach with disappointment and envy.

So maybe, in more ways than one, Hinata hates Tenten and envys her all at the same time. Maybe she is just jealous that Neji seems to so willingly go out of his way to please Tenten, all the while breaking the heart of the girl who really does care for him. So yes, Hinata is, in fact, jealous of the way Tenten seems to claim his attention while not really asking for it nor deserving it, making those all seeing eyes become so solely focused on one person- making them so sightless.

And so Hinata is jealous, she finds, because when it comes to her, he's blind.
