Chapter 1 The new start
"Hello Professor Oak," said seventeen-year-old Ash as he entered the professor's laboratory. Pikachu was sitting on Ash's shoulder.
[A/N: Ash is wearing his XY cloths]
"Over here Ash," a voice comes from the back of the lab. Ash and Pikachu go around the lab and greet the Professor. He was checking up
Bulbasaur, charmander and squirtle. The three starter pokemon of Kanto Region.
"Professor, do you need me for something?" asked Ash.
"You see, a young professor I know has just opened a new laboratory in Vermillion city to study legendary pokemon and given your history with encountering legendary pokemon, I want you to go to his lab and give a detailed description of what you know about those pokemon," said Professor.
"Will it be safe to tell him all those secrets, Professor?" Ask asked.
"Don't worry. I trust him completely. He won't use this information to do anything evil," Professor assured Ash that there will be no danger to those pokemon.
"Okay Professor, if you say so," Ash agreed, but he still felt uneasy about this because of the many legendary pokemon he meets during his journey all around the world, he becomes friends with most of them. So he was not comfortable to share the information about them which could bring danger to them.
"But if Professor Oak says that the other professor can be trusted, I think it's fine," Ash thought.
After saying goodbye to Professor Oak, Ash headed towards Vermillion city. In between, he made a stop at Viridian forest, to meet up with an old friend.
"Pidgeot," Ash shouted in the middle of the forest.
"Pikapika," Pikachu also called his old friend. But no one came.
"It's look like Pidgeot is not here Pikachu,"
"Pikapika," They both felt a little dejected that they could not meet Pigeot. As they were about to leave, the sound of flapping wings reached their ears and they looked up and saw a giant bird descending from the sky.
"Pigeeeot," said the bird upon landing on the ground. As soon as Pigeot landed on the ground, Ash and Pikachu hugged him and Pigeot hugged them back.
"I miss you a lot, Pigeot."
"Pikapika."
"Pigeiot."
"Hey Pigeiot, can you give us a ride to Vermillion City?" Ash asked.
"Pigeiot!" Pigeot happily agreed. Ash and Pikachu climb on Pigeiot and then the bird pokemon takes off.
"Wow Pigeiot, you are so much faster than before," Ash said as hold on to Pikachu to keep him from falling.
"Pigee!," Pigeiot enjoyed the praise of his former trainer as speed up to show off his strength.
Upon arriving over Vermillion city, Ash noticed the sudden change of weather. The wind was blowing quick and dark clouds were forming in the sky.
"What's going on here? Is it Zekrom all over again?" Hearing Ash said that Pikachu hid behind Ash's jacket as his first encounter with Zekrom was not very good.
Suddenly a white pokemon flew past him. Ash recognized the pokemon as he encountered it many times during his journey. It was Lugia. But what shocked him the most was that a person was hanging from Lugia's tail.
"Pigeiot after him," Ash said as Pigeiot pursued Lugia. The person has moved from its tail to its back. Just as Pigeiot got closer to Lugia, he flipped upside down, dropping the person down below.
"YAAAAAAAAA!" The person yelled as he fell towards the ground.
"Pigeiot catch him!" Ash yelled. Pigeiot nose dive and catched the falling person in its claws.
"Hey are you okay?" Ash asked.
"Hey somehow. Thanks for saving me," The stranger said.
"No problem, but what are you doing on it?" Ash asked curiously.
"I was trying to catch it. But he was getting away, so I jumped on it," He answered. When they landed on the ground, the stranger introduced himself.
"My name is Goh and again, thanks for saving me."
"My name is Ash and I'm from Pallet town, it's nice to meet you," as they both shake hands.
"Pallet town, huh. What brought you here?" Goh asked.
"I'm looking for Cerise Laboratory." Ash said.
"If that's the case, then don't worry, I got you covered," Goh said proudly.
It was evening and Ash and Goh finally arrived at the Cerise Laboratory. Ash has already sent back his Pigeiot, as he cannot stay away from his flock for a long time.
"Professor, there're some who want to meet you," Goh said as he and Ash entered the control room of the lab. There were three people inside the room, a man with maroon colored hair, a man with blond hair and a woman with blue hair. All three were wearing a lab coat.
"Hello, how can I help you?" The man with maroon hair greets Ash.
"Hello, my name Ash Ketchum and Professor Oak sent me here," Ash said.
"Oh, you the trainer that Professor Oak was talking about, the one who encounters almost every legendary pokemon," said the man. Ash sweat drops at the man's comment. Goh who was sitting on the sideline, also became curious.
"My name is Professor Cerise and finally I'm able to meet you," the maroon haired man said as he introduced himself as the professor.
"So, what do I need to do?" Ash asked.
"For now, let's just sit down and briefly tell me about all the Legendary Pokemon you encounter," said Professor Cerise. Two of them sat down alongside Goh. After that Ash tells about his experience with Legendary pokemon. When he finished, everyone around him was silent. They do not believe a single person can encounter legendary pokemon so many times.
"WAIT! You saw Mew," Goh exclaimed.
"You can say that." Ash said.
"It is extraordinary Ash, that you have met so many legendary pokemon," Professor Cerise said.
"Well, it's not like I'm trying to find them. It just one thing led to another," Ash said.
"Ash, I have an offer for you, to become a research fellow along with Goh," Professor Cerise said.
"Research fellow?" Ash asked as he didn't know what research fellow.
"Research fellow means special lab assistant,"Goh said.
"I want you to go around the world and collect data from various pokemon, including legendries, so we can deepen our understanding of them. Will you do it," Professor Cerise asked Ash as he thought about it.
"Sure Professor, I always love traveling and meeting new Pokemon, so I will do it," Ash said.
"Excellent, as commuting from Pallet would be difficult,you can stay in lab dorms with Goh," Professor said.
"That will be great. Just let me inform my mom about it," Ash said.
After informing Delia about his stay at Cerise Laboratory, Goh leads Ash to their dorm room.
"So you meet Mew by chance?" Goh asked. He was a little salty about Ash randomly meeting Mew. He was trying to meet or chase Mew for over five years with no luck.
"It's all because of a certain event that I could meet Mew," Ash said as remember an incident in Rota.
"So what pokemon do you have?" Ash tried to lift the awkward silence between him and Goh.
"I have none," Goh said.
"Huh," Ash became confused.
"Long time ago I decided that my first ever pokemon will be Mew," Goh said, which made Ash silent for a second.
"You are an interesting guy, Goh," Ash said.
"You don't find that crazy," Goh asked. Over time, various people have said that his goal to catch Mew was impossible and make fun of him.
"Of course not. Catching Mew is indeed possible. I saw various trainers using Legendaries pokemon," Ash said, which makes Goh smile. They reached the dorm room. It was getting late, so they change and went to sleep.
