How could an angel break my heart?
Why didn't he catch my falling star?
I wish I didn't wish so hard.
Maybe I wished our love apart.

Ginny had always thought of Harry as an angel. She watched him grow and mature, and decided he was an angel with flaws, maybe, but an angel nonetheless.
She fell in love with him before she even met him. Her mum told her stories about the little boy who had saved the world, and when she lay in bed facing the stars outside her window, she imagined how she would meet him one day, and they would grow up together, and get married, and maybe even save the world together too! She giggled in the silence and rolled over, curling under her covers with visions of green eyes in her mind.
She watched him as they both got older, wishing and praying that he would feel for her as she felt for him. Slowly her blushing looks and mumbled greetings turned to confident smiles and, as they grew closer, warm kisses.
And then he left her, but that was alright, because he was an angel. And angels saved people, and that was what he was doing. She kept wishing, wishing that he would come home safe, come home to her quickly.
But then he did come back and she felt him drawing away from her. Felt him pulling back and making excuses, and it grew harder and harder to keep telling herself that they would live happily ever after, soon. Soon, soon, but soon never came.
It was when he ended it, ended them with a gentle apology and a last, tender kiss, that she realized it was done. She watched him walk from her life forever, and she felt her little-girl heart and her little-girl dreams shatter.
Her mum had always told her that if she wanted something from life she had to grab it with both hands.
As she leaned her head against the cool window and pretended the tears on her cheeks were from the glare of the sun, she realized that, maybe, she had done too much wishing and not enough grabbing.
