CHAPTER 2: Full Circle

After filing out of the elevator into this new world, the takeaway was that no one had any powers and everyone seemed to have their own ideas of what to do next. Allison left to find her family, and Luther left in search of his wife, Salone (who hadn't come back with them). Klaus and Ben left to do who knows what, and Diego and Lila went to start a family. That left Viktor and Five in the central square, with the bust of their father standing between them.

Five didn't know what to say. Instead, he nodded to Viktor and turned away, walking down the path before him.

"Wait, Five," Viktor called out.

Five paused.

"You said if I needed anything, I could come to you," Viktor continued. "Do you still mean that, even in this new timeline?"

"Of course I do," Five said, looking back at Viktor. "What do you need?"

"You're not going to just walk away from this, are you? What did our father want by resetting the universe? Why did we lose our powers, and why did you get your arm back and Diego get back his fingers? How did Luther come back to life?"

"You ask a lot of questions—none of which I know the answer to," Five replied. "But I'm going to find out."

And he was going to start by going straight to the Handler. Five wanted his powers back.

Viktor walked over to Five.

"Can I help? Maybe we can work together, help each other out."

"And what would you want from me?" Five inquired.

"We could get a place to stay in the city," Viktor said. "A two bedroom apartment. If you're going to travel a lot, it might be nice to have a place to come back to. A place to call home."

"Is that the only reason?"

Viktor stood awkwardly in front of Five.

"I just don't want to lose you," Viktor confessed. "You're the only one who truly understands who I am, and because you'll listen."

Five smiled.

"I can work with that," he said. "Come with me."
