Reasons

There are very few people Uchiha Sasuke hold dear to his heart. And, even if he wouldn't say any names; the people that knew him well will tell that two of these people would be 'Uzumaki Naruto' and 'Haruno Sakura'. But the people that knew him well will also say that Sasuke would rather be damned or mauled by a fuzzy pink bunny loving parrot then letting either of them knowing.

The people that he cared for, the people that he loved will eventually be hurt by him. Such an example would be (without naming any names) a used to be sane (and used to be loved) older brother whose name rhymed with the popular brand name 'Hitachi'. Said older brother will be hurt and killed. Preferably by Sasuke's chidori stabbing through said brother's heart multiple times.

Another reason why not many people are dear to Uchiha Sasuke is that not a lot of things impressed said Uchiha. Naruto didn't get into his good books by being obnoxiously loud and proud of it. Haruno Sakura, too, wasn't held in such a valuable and rare place by constantly trying to be by his side (and his prospective life partner) If that was the only quality she had Sakura would be long shoved under his feet with the likes of Yamanaka Ino and the rest of his rabid obsessive fan girls.

When he was younger, Sasuke had rationalized that the people that he would care for would be people Sasuke can lean on and trust and still protect. That would mean; from the whole population of Konoha at least 98.9 would be crossed out from his list. This suited Sasuke just fine. The less people he cared for meant the less sorrow he would feel once their gone. But it would also mean that he would have to be alone for most of his life. That suited him just fine too. The Uchiha clan members were not known for their social skills. They were known for being kick ass ninjas with the mercy of the devil.

The people he cared for would be the people Sasuke would kill and be killed for. The people that he held dear would be the ones he would trust his life with. Sasuke wasn't an idiot like Naruto; to befriend and trust most people he met with his own life. Sasuke wasn't a smitten fan like Sakura; who would throw everything she had away if he told her to. And should he ever run out of people he cared for, well…

"Come on Sasuke-kun, your missing all the fireworks!"

"Hurry up, bastard, they got free ramen samples!"

Maybe it was okay to think about that later.

I got bored and decided to write…and this came up. If I made any Sasuke fans angry for various reasons…(read: OOC, grammar, spelling) I'm sorry : ) Please don't murder me.
