Chloe walked into her newly furnished living room, handing Aubrey and Beca each a glass of lemonade, before sitting down across from them.

"You sounded excited on the phone, what's going on?" She asked, trying to put on a smile and hoping it didn't look fake. She knew what was coming.

Beca looked down and Aubrey proudly stated, "We're pregnant." Chloe hoped her slight hesitation to react could be played off as shock before she plastered a huge smile on her face, seeing Beca look up at her, a smile of her own on her face.

"Oh my god you guys!" She said standing up and opening her arms. Aubrey stood too and immediately hugged her. Chloe looked over Aubrey's shoulder to see Beca slowly standing up, not looking at the two. She let Aubrey go and reached for Beca, who seemed to hesitate before allowing herself to be pulled into a hug.

"I'm so happy for you!" She said, feeling how Beca was tense in their hug. She let her go and held her at arms-length.

"How far along are you?"

"A little over two months." Aubrey stated proudly and Chloe smiled at her, trying not to snap at her to let Beca speak.

Aubrey, could tell the smile she had just received from her longtime friend was forced and she looked at Beca to see she was standing, looking almost uncomfortable.

"You'll have to forgive Beca, she is still getting used to it." She laughed, hoping Chloe believed her lie.

Chloe gave Becas arms reassuring squeezes before letting her go. "I understand. I am so excited for you both," she said. "Congratulations."

"Would you care to explain to me what the hell that was back there?" Aubrey asked glancing at Beca as she pulled onto the freeway, leaving Chloe's apartment.

Beca shook her head. "I'm sorry." She said softly. "You said it, I'm still getting used to it. I wish we could have told her another day. So, the shock of the news we got today could wear off."

Aubrey was quiet for a moment. "Well. I wanted two kids anyway. At least this way, you only have to be pregnant once."

Beca looked into her lap, studying her wedding ring before slowly looking up at her wife. "That doesn't make me feel better, Aubrey." She said, her voice stern.

Aubrey's head whipped around to look at her. Beca tried not to shrink under her hard glare. She was angry. She was scared and Aubrey was acting as if it were nothing.

She let out a quiet breath when Aubrey looked back at the road, though she could see her jaw muscles clenching and unclenching. She felt a jolt of fear go through her. Aubrey hadn't hit her in a while, she had promised to never let it happen again.

She looked out her window, dread filling her stomach.

Nothing happened. Beca walked into the house after Aubrey and had relaxed her body, ready for the attack. It hurt less if she wasn't tense. But it never came. Aubrey kicked off her shoes, opened the fridge and pulled out a bottle of water for herself and Beca.

Now, Beca was standing at the sink, washing dishes from their dinner while Aubrey was working on emails for work.

The house was quiet aside from the tapping of Aubrey's keyboard and the gentle splashes of water. She glanced over at her every few moments, just to make sure she was still at the table.

She had been preoccupied with washing a pan and didn't see or hear Aubrey get up. She couldn't help how her body stiffened and she dropped the pan as two hands circled her waist.

The touch was gentle but it wasn't what she had been preparing for, and Aubrey placed a soft kiss to her shoulder as she braced her hands on the edge of the sink, her eyes shut tightly.

"Sorry. I didn't mean to scare you." A soft voice came. Beca opened her eyes and let out a breath, slowly turning to face Aubrey. She didn't move her hands, and Beca felt her rest them on her lower back.

"It's okay, I'm sorry, I was in my own little world." She spoke. "I didn't hear you get up."

Aubrey leaned in close, humming slightly as she pressed her lips to Becas. She returned the kiss, starting to relax as Aubrey's hands snuck under the back of her shirt and gently pulled her closer to her.

They hadn't been intimate in a long time. Beca had missed it at first, then felt relief every time she escaped any kind of physical contact. The feeling of Aubrey's lips against hers was unfamiliar.

She kissed her back though, her body fully relaxing against her, her own arms coming up to circle around her neck. It was then, that Aubrey pulled away and Beca fell forward slightly, as Aubrey walked away abruptly. She watched her go, her eyes confused. She had never done that. She didn't return to the table, instead she walked out of the kitchen and Beca could hear her climbing the stairs.

Chloe laid in bed that night, unable to sleep. She was stressed out, and her stomach was twisted in knots. Beca was pregnant. And Aubrey was abusing her. Becas demeanor was completely different. She was closed off and unsure. Aubrey spoke for her, and didn't even seem to notice. She had to do something, she had to talk to Beca, or Aubrey. She huffed, turning over onto her back.

No. She couldn't. That could make it worse for Beca. She never in a million years would have thought her childhood best friend could be capable of such a thing but she knew what she heard. And Beca had changed. She needed to get Beca away from Aubrey, and keep her away. But she didn't know how to do that. She sat up, turning on her bedside lamp and grabbed her phone. She dialed a number and pulled her knees up to her chest, as she waited for the answer.

"Stacie, I need you to come here. Can you?"

Aubrey rolled off of Beca with a satisfied moan and Beca took a shaky breath. She had just turned to look at Aubrey when the woman rolled over, turning her back on her. She felt her heart clench. She had been sweet when Beca came to bed, and she had initiated another kiss. It turned into gentle touching before clothes were discarded and Beca was pinned beneath her. She didn't complain, she was in heaven, being loved by her Wife. Then, as quickly as it started, it was over. Aubrey finished and turned her back on her. Leaving her confused. She got what she wanted and she went to sleep.

Beca slowly slipped from the bed, grabbing her robe and putting it on as she silently left the room. The house was dark and quiet and she didn't know where she was headed but stopped when she reached the living room, deciding to lay down on the couch.

She was still trying to wrap her head around what had just taken place upstairs. Aubrey had never done that before. Normally, after sex they would lie together, talking, or exchanging soft kisses. Never, had she just gone to sleep without a word.

"She used me." She whispered softly to herself as her eyes filled with tears and she tucked her face into her arm to muffle any sound that might escape as she cried.

Aubrey sat in the chair across from the couch the next morning. Her coffee cup held up so she could blow on the hot liquid as she stared at Becas sleeping form. It wasn't long before Beca opened her eyes and looked around in confusion before she spotted Aubrey and froze.

"Typically," Aubrey started, "You don't leave the bed after sex." She said taking a sip of her drink.

Beca sat up, her eyes red rimmed from the night before. She felt a flash of anger go through her.

"Typically, you don't finish and then turn your back on me." She said standing up and walking toward the stairs.

"Beca, do not walk away when I am speaking to you." Aubrey snapped as she passed her.

She turned around. "Don't do this Aubrey. Please?" She asked and Aubrey turned to look at her. She looked exhausted and she could see that she had done a great deal of crying the night before.

"Go shower." She said standing up and Beca watched her guardedly. "You look like shit."

Beca watched her dump her coffee in the sink before grabbing her stuff and walking out of the house, slamming door behind her.

Fresh tears sprung to her eyes and she furiously blinked them away as she walked up the stairs.
