Bonus part
Kyojuro found himself in an unfamiliar place but once he started to orient himself he found out that the place wasn't so unfamiliar at all.
'Where am I?' he initially thought but then he found he was in a familiar room. He ran a hand through his flame colored hair.
'Wait, I know this place' Kyojuro thought as he was in a familiar room. 'Why am I here?'
The young ex flame hashira looked around the room and recognized it as a room that was in his house. However it wasn't his father or his brother's room. He was distracted when he heard a soft 'mmm'.
Kyojuro looked to the center of the room and saw someone laying on her side with her back to him with loose brown hair on her back. He moved closer to see the sleeping figure.
'Hotaru?' he thought. Upon closer inspection he could see that it was his lover.
'Oh Hotaru,' fresh tears sprung to his eyes upon seeing his lover again but there was another thing that captured his attention.
Hotaru had an arm wrapped around a much smaller figure. The infant had golden hair much like his own, thick brows, and chubby pink cheeks.
'A baby?' then it hit him. 'Our child!' Kyojuro's eyes widened as more tears gathered in his eyes. 'Their name, I have to know their name' he thought, wiping his face.
The young father went to the area where they kept the family's genealogy and birth records. After pulling out the book and turning to the most recent page he saw his child's name. It read 'Rengoku Takeo' . There was some writing detailing the child's gender and parents.
'A fine name for a Rengoku,'' Kyojuro thought.
'A son, I have a son,' an onslaught of tears clouded Kyojuro's vision as he headed back to where his lover and son lay sleeping. He again wiped his eyes so he could examine his son's features. Takeo was full Rengoku and had inherited everything from Kyojuro.
'He's so beautiful,' the young man thought.
Kyojuro reached out wanting to touch his son. However his hand only felt air and didn't make contact with the child's skin. He couldn't touch his child or his lover despite his many attempts.
'No, no, no,' he thought, despair starting to overtake him.
"I can't touch my child. I can't hold my child!' Kyojuro thought, burying his face into his hands. He wailed but no sound came out.
'I failed. I'm so so sorry,' he leaned over in a crouched position.
Guilt overtook him, that he wasn't there when his son was born and that he wasn't going to see his baby boy grow up. He had failed Hotaru, his father and brother, and most of all he had failed his son that would never know him. Despite all of this, knowing he could still see them afar brought little peace.
Following this there will be an alternate side story in which Kyojuro lives. Thank you for bearing with me
