I'm With You

Kagome watched the sunset from the bridge near Kaede's village. She sighed and rested her head onto her forearms, which rested on a rail.

I'm standing on a bridge
I'm waitin' in the dark
I thought that you'd be here by now
There's nothing but the rain
No footsteps on the ground
I'm listening but there's no sound

She was waiting for Inuyasha. He asked her to meet him there. Flashback: They had just come back from a long journey. Sango, Miroku, and Shippo were so tired that they just collapsed into bed, even if it was just midmorning. Kagome went for a walk, and went to the well. Inuyasha jumped from the Goshinboku and said "Meet me at the bridge by the river before sunset." "Why?" She asked. "Just be there" he replied. End flashback She sighed, he was late, the sun was setting and it was getting dark soon.

Isn't anyone tryin to find me?

Soon, it was dark, and she was getting a little scared. It was getting colder and colder by the second. She started to get scared and lonely, but she trusted Inuyasha.

I'm looking for a place
searching for a face
is anybody here I know
cause nothings going right
and everything's a mess
and no one likes to be alone

She turned and leaned against the railing. She was wondering where Inuyasha was, and why he was late. She also wondered if her friends were looking for her. She pulled her sweater higher onto her shoulders.

Then Inuyasha appeared. He smiled softly and asked "Are you cold?" Kagome said "No, just wondering where you were." Inuyasha said "I asked you to be here, because I need to tell you about how I really feel about you. I realized something Kagome, I realized I love you and I just needed to tell you that"

Oh why is everything so confusing
maybe I'm just out of my mind
yea yea yea

Kagome looked at him confused for a second and said "But I thought that you love Kikyo" He said "Kagome, understand this, I love you, Kikyo is my past, so let her stay my past. You, you are my future, I just want you to know that. I just thought that you deserved to know that."

Kagome felt confused now. She was trying to figure this out when Inuyasha took her hand….

And kissed her deeply. Then Kagome felt safe and she knew that Inuyasha would not betray her. With that, she melted into his embrace.
