A bad day, the moment when a status quo is seriously twisted and turned beyond recognition.
That's how one would recognize it. And many would say that's how Alan's day was the very moment Loona entered his life. After answering a few more questions on where she was, the boy had decided to bring her home- To say that his parents freaked out at the introduction of her as his friend would be an understatement and... they had to leave before they went on to call the police and bring her away.
The strangest bit was that Loona wasn't even in her true form, but one that the book helped her take, a human one. He also went out of his way to use some of the money he had left on his piggybank to buy her a dress. Nothing too complicated, a red one that matched well with the plan of 'presenting her as a nice lady'. She agreed to wear it because the logic was 'sound' and- "They may think I am a bad person."
It wasn't like Alan thought of that when it comes to her outfit, but it definitely felt fitting to an extent. So, Loona now looked like a normal girl. With white hair. That's... rare. He had to look online for this, but it was indeed possible for kids to have white hair. Still, all that good work was to went to waste as they didn't want to take her in and said something about 'him kidnapping a girl and being sent to a juvenile detention center for being a little kidnapper'.
He didn't kidnap anyone, Loona was summoned and she wanted to be his friend. He was no villain! But the police would probably believe his parents so... it wasn't too difficult for him to nod at Loona's plan to just leave for good. She asked a valid question that sold him about it.
"What does even keep you here? Your parents are awful, the food is scarce and we may end up arrested for stuff we didn't do."
Reasonable enough for Alan to pack his bag with more useful stuff, such as a map he had in his room about the state they lived in that he had been given to school by the geography teacher, a few pairs of clothes, and even a few coupons his mother had kept 'hidden' from others. He wasn't sure if these were still valid but... it would be good to spare money, right?
Once everything was set, the two left by foot after going out of the window and down to the garden through a rope made of sheets. The police would reach his parents' house ten minutes after they left, entering the house to check the boy's room to 'help to find him'. The sight of the disarray within the place plus the harsh tones used to describe him would raise the suspicions of the officers.
It didn't help that soon they were getting yelled way too many times and also pushed a bit by the screeching woman calling her son a 'good-for-nothing waste of space', the two parents would end up detained as a child-abuse case would be opened to be investigated. They would also file a missing person case to find the boy but... at that point, Alan was sitting on a mostly empty bus that was moving to another state, Loona snoring quietly with her head resting on his shoulder as they had been moving a lot and talking with so many people in a single day.
Alan wasn't sure it was meant to be that easy to move from a state to another, but they had been lucky enough to find some nice people along the way that were quick to accept the little coin he had on himself. While he had worried to run out of money, a bad man wearing a hoodie had tried to kidnap them while they were strolling around.
A brick ended up cracking his skull before anything could have happened, and his bag was filled with way more money that Alan had ever owed in his entire life. It was such a good day! First he made a friend, and now he had so many green bills to use to keep himself and Loona safe!
But the day wasn't over yet. As they were both waiting to reach their next destination and decide what to do next once they were there, Alan witnessed a rather odd situation. The bus was mostly empty and the driver was listening to some low-volume music while riding the bus to its stops, so... it was just him that noticed the strangem an suddenly sitting in the rows of seat in front of them. Alan's eyes widened in surprise, but the strange man looked really confusing. He wasn't wearing normal clothes- he was donning what looked to be a purely-white tuxedo with a pair of dark-gray gloves and boots. His face sported a closed-mouth smile and his eyes... felt odd.
While there were just a single pair of those like any other human beings should have, Alan had the feeling that he was being watched by multiple eyes at once. First from the same direction where the man was sitting by, and then all around him. It was odd but... he kept on staring at the strange man.
"Hello, Alan."
He blinked. "Hello, mister."
"Didn't your mother ever tell you to not speak with strangers?" The strange figure inquired, but the boy shrugged.
"No."
"Hmm, I see," He tilted his head on the left. "So, why did you summon a demon? A hellhound even?"
His jaw fell off at this. "How do you know that?"
The man chuckled. "I know everything, boy. So, the answer to my question?"
"Oh, I... I wanted a friend. Loona is my friend."
"Is she? By her own free will."
"Yeah," The boy replied calmly, smiling as he looked at her. "We both are first friends."
"Oh my... I see, so... just to make it clear, do you intend to use her in any way to conquer the world?"
"...Why would I want to conquer the world?"
"Oh trust me, boy," The man sighed, reaching for his pocket and retrieving a cookie to munch on. "Too many times I asked a similar question to the idiots that would do it."
"Oh... I am sorry?"
"It's not your fault and I think this... well, I think you may go on your merry way with your new friends. Of course, I will give you this one warning before I leave," The man leaned closer, and his voice got 'heavier'. "This world is not as simple as it appears. Many cruel things exist and, if you are not careful enough, you may end up facing them. Do you understand?"
"...Yes."
"You don't," The man called out the lie, but he chuckled at this rather than be upset. "But it's alright. Soon you will know after all~."
A blink and he was gone, and with him the eyes that had been judging Alan so much. He could only wonder who the man's name was but... for some reason, he felt like he should have known it already.
AN
Someone from above has just blessed for the most chaotic what if of this timeline. Next time... Loona and Alan ends up in Kansas! Why? Well, many people complain about not being in Kansas anymore, so why not bring them to that very place~?
REVIEW Q&A!
JustAFan123: Dunno, but for now I don't feel like writing that one.
Coldblue2015:
1) Something like that, but more chaotic and somewhat with them 'ushered' into that role by the misunderstandings and lucky circumstances they will be responsible for;
2) Different spells;
3) No, because they are keeping Loona's true nature a secret;
4) They had the same spell used by Loona and Stolas to hide their real forms;
5) Yeah-ish;
LurkerReader007: They already met.
