Disclaimer: I don't own Kingdom Hearts, and even though I roleplay as them, I don't own Riku or Rikku.

Warning: Not by best fic...T.T

Other: I originally had a short beginning and ending to go with this, but then I realized that neither of those matched with the actual story. So I took them out, and they'll probably be in a different fic later on. Also, this is a quad-drabble, meaning exactly 400 words without the title or notes.

Dreams

Sora sat up in his bed, running a hand through his messy hair. Looking out his window, he sighed. "Every night," he muttered to himself, "every night it's another memory. Are you trying to tell me something...

"Roxas?"

---

Loud clangs of metal hitting metal, sparks flying as two forces clashed, and then silence punctuated by pants and gasps as the fighters leaped apart.

Sora wiped his forehead, feeling hot, sticky skin against the back of his hand. He kept his eyes on his opponent, who was pushing sweaty silver locks out of his face and smirking.

"Ready to call it a day?" Riku shouted to him, his eyes twinkling in laughter.

Sora shook his head, tightening his grip on the Kingdom Key. "Never!" he cried, and rushed forward, bringing his keyblade up to meet Riku's Road to Dawn in another loud clang.

They fought from noon to dusk, trading taunts and blows as if it were a real battle. Neither noticed the sunset leaking onto the sky. They finally stopped when Riku held up a hand and Sora suddenly noticed how exhausted they both were.

They rowed their boats back to the main island, watching as the sun's dying rays turned the ocean into a fire-lit sapphire. The trip was quiet, but that was the way they wanted it to be. Riku was usually silent, and Sora... Sora was thinking about Roxas and how his Nobody's eyes must've looked like the sea did then, whenever the blond faced Axel.

Walking home from the pier, Sora and Riku remained silent. Sora knew that Riku knew that something was bothering him, but they both knew that Riku wouldn't bring it up. Riku was cool like that.

When they reached Sora's house, they quietly said their goodbyes, and Sora didn't fail to notice the look of worry that Riku gave him. He shot a reassuring, slightly cocky grin at him, and the silver-haired youth smiled back, looking relieved.

Stepping inside and slipping off his shoes, he set them down and noticed that his parents' were gone. He didn't stop to wonder why; he just went upstairs and flopped down on his bed, hoping that he had exhausted himself enough to avoid the dreams as he fell almost instantly into sleep.

Meanwhile, Roxas tilted his head and watched Sora. He knew that his Other didn't enjoy the dreams, but...

Neither had he.
