Chapter 13: New Challenge

A/N: Sorry this is taking a while, it really hurts to walk around, and the weather is giving me headaches and fevers…

"Good morning class!" Misato happily said, everyone just moaned.

"Don't feel so down my children, I have finally thought of a new project!"

Everyone's eyes grew wide and and groaned, "This is an outrage!" one said.

"Now now students, it is not that hard."

"Huh?"

"You see, I was watching this show pen-pen accidentally put on, I believe it was called American idol and Canadian Idol."

"You know English?" Nick asked.

"No, but I loved the way they sang. It was awesome, and I craved for more but it won't show again until next week."

"So?" Hikari wondered leaning forward.

"So…Each of you will have to write a song, then sing it! Sing it to me, and the way you sing you shall be graded, and if you win my little competition, you get a prize!"

"What is it?" Shinji asked.

"Not telling," she winked at her students and sat in her chair. She smiled happily, but then she fell asleep.

The students took their chances.

Boys chatty room

SilentWind: I am so psyched!

SlyGuy: Never knew you sang Shinji.

SupaStud: Wow, that is cool Shin-man!

Gotchya: I can't sing…

SlyGuy: Don't worry man, none of us can sing.

In the boys back stage, Touji was practicing.

"Wow, you ARE really good Touji," Kensuke said smiling.

"Really?" he turned back to his paper and smiled, "It's for her, I want to impress her."

"Who?"

"Hikari…" his face turned red.

"That's sweet of you!" Rei said surprising him.

"What?" he continued to blush stuttering.

"Your up Touji!" Kaworu yelled.

He took a deep breath and placed the paper in his pocket.

"I will never find another lover sweeter than you," he began stepping onto the stage, with Shinji and Kaworu as back up.

"Sweeter than you," they repeated.

"And I will never find another lover more precious than you," everyone looked up to him with awe.

"More precious than you," the two backs sung.

"Girl you are, close to me you're like my mother, close to me you're like my father, close to me you're like my sister, close to me you're like my brother," he turned to see Hiakri staring at him and he blushed.

"You are the only one my everything," he pointed to Hikari still red, "and for you this song I sing" he smiled at her and she turned a red deeper than him.

"And all my life, I've prayed for someone like you, and I thank God that I, that I finally found you," he returned to his normal colors getting into the song.

Hikari just cried softly and smiled.

"Yes, I pray that you do love me," he looked into her eyes and smiled a sweet smile, and she returned it.

"That was beautiful Touji!" she kissed him on the cheek.

"It had to, it had to suit a beautiful girl like you!"

He stopped laughing and they looked into each others' eyes. They then shared a kiss, when they heard Misato whooping them, they turned red and ran off.

"That was excellent right everyone? Now stand by, in about fifteen minutes, we got Shinji Ikari performing."

Yui clapped the loudest screaming, "Go my child! You have such a lovely voice!" then Gendou pulled her down.

Backstage, all the students clapped for Touji and Hikari.

"How did it begin Touji?" Mana asked.

"At the amusement park…"

"Aww!" Rei yelled.

Touji then walked to Shinji, "Good luck man, that song seems awesome!"

"Thanks, I think I'll just go practice somewhere…"
