Chapter 14: I Caught Fire

Shinji gulped and took in a deep breath.

"What's your song Shinji?"

"It's called I caught fire."

"Ok then…"

He pulled out a guitar, (A/N: Yes, he can play a guitar…) and closed his eyes.

The lights shone, Kensuke was drums and Touji and Kaworu were also on guitars.

"Seemed to stop my breath," he began, and he also had a beautiful voice, even better than Touji's.

"My head on your chest waiting to cave in, from the bottom of my... hear your voice again, could we dim the sun and wonder where we've been.," he blushed at his lyrics, but he never stopped. He looked up and looked at Asuka.

"Maybe you and me," he pointed to her and smiled, "So kiss me like you did, my heart stopped beating, such a softer sin!"

"I'm melting, I'm melting," he continued to smile and looked deep into her eyes, "In your eyes, I lost my place, could stay a while. And I'm melting, in your eyes, like my first time that I caught fire. Just stay with me lay with me. Now."

"Never caught my breath," he walked around the stage singing, "Every second I'm without you I'm a mess," he clutched his hair and frowned, "Ever know each other… Trust these words are stoked, my cuts aren't healing, learning how to love, I'm melting…"

He looked at her and walked towards her, "In your eyes, I lost my place, could stay a while," he grabbed her hand and made her come up.

"You could stay and watch me fall
And of course I'll ask for help

We could take our heads off
stay in bed and just make love that's all.

"Just stay with me now," she just stared at him, and he continued to sing.

"I'm melting, I'm melting… In your eyes," he turned to her again with sincere eyes and knelt down before her.

"Bravo Shinji!" everyone yelled. He blushed and took his eyes away from Asuka and to the crowd.

He turned to Asuka, "Let's go somewhere else…"

"That was awesome Shinji no baka-kun…"

"I love you…"

"Me too…"

They looked into each others eyes, hand in hand, and they wrapped their hands around each other. They paused, then kissed so tenderly…
