Mac leant forward, placing his hands on the illuminated table to balance himself as he sighed heavily, the lack of evidence frustrating him.
Stella looked down at his hands, smirking to herself as she commented, "Geez, Mac, you've got small hands!"
Mac lifted his hands from the table, turning to her and looking incredulously. She emphasised her point by lifting his hand and holding it against hers, nodding triumphantly as Mac could see that his hands were only a little bigger than hers.
Stella grinned, reminding him suggestively, "You know what they say about men with big hands…" She put on a fake look of interest, teasing him, "I wonder if it's opposite for men with small hands then…"
"I have perfectly ordinary sized feet," Mac countered, adding unnecessarily, "They're just above average size for a man, and I'm perfectly happy with them."
Stella paused, questioning herself over whether he was taking the feet thing seriously or whether they had lapsed into another one of their innuendos. She commented just in case, "You know…I wasn't talking about your feet."
"Neither was I," Mac winked at her. Her eyes widened almost in surprise as her mouth dropped open slightly, having been rendered speechless.
Pulling herself together she managed to quip in return, quoting, "Marry him not for money or riches, but for what hangs in his britches."
"You have a way with words," Mac complimented her sarcastically, his gaze remaining focused on her.
"I know I do, my love," she smiled happily, turning back to the evidence layout on the table, "But what do you say to us breaking this case?"
Mac couldn't stop the firm smile from forming on his face as he watched his partner for a little longer than necessary before joining her back in their work.
