"So, Ma Gasket accused you of killing her boys?" Thalia questioned as she stared at Clarisse.

"Yes. How many fucking times do I have to tell you that?" Clarisse demanded. She was leaning on her car and was rather irate that she couldn't go with her boyfriend to the hospital. Thalia wanted to let her, but she couldn't override her boss.

"Which is why she kidnapped Chris."

"Are you just going to repeat the fucking story back to me?" Clarisse spat. Thalia remained silent and glanced to the side. Reyna had a jacket too large to be hers wrapped around her. She was sitting against the car and staring ahead.

"Clarisse, I know you want to be with Chris. I'm sorry," Thalia began as she looked at Clarisse. "But with Ma Gasket and Lycaon involved-"

"No," Clarisse cut her off. She pushed herself off of her car and shoved Thalia to the side. Then, she marched right toward Thalia's boss. Oh man, this was not going to end well.

"Clarisse," Thalia called as she hurried to their side.

"This is bullshit," Clarisse snapped. "Ma Gasket and Lycaon have been terrorizing this fucking city for years, and your bullshit little group hasn't done shit. The police rested in their pocket. If you had just gotten off your asses and done something, this would never be a problem."

Thalia's boss studied Clarisse. The woman had an impressive poker face, and she was not intimidated by Clarisse. Diana spoke, "I understand that you are upset."

"I am way past upset," Clarisse spat. "It's fucking simple: you should have just fucking done something about them before today. If you had, they wouldn't have accused me of something I didn't do and took my boyfriend!"

"You should have gone to us when you learned your boyfriend was in danger," Diana stated.

"Because that really fucking helps!" Clarisse raised her voice further. "I've already given my story to Thalia, but I guess I'll give it to you too; those assholes thought I killed Ma Gasket's sons. I fucking didn't! They kidnapped Chris and tortured him. I enlisted Reyna's help because she is the only fucking person in this city who can get shit done."

"Yet, you killed three people," Diana countered.

"Lycaon killed himself," Reyna muttered as she slowly looked up at them. "He tackled me out of the building and decided to land headfirst."

"Ma'am," Thalia began. "This was clearly a case of self-defense."

"Is it?" Diana challenged. Thalia hesitated and wished that her partner was there.

"...Yes?"

Diana turned and focused on Reyna, "You haven't been here long, have you? But, there seems to be plenty of trouble since you rolled into town."

Reyna remained silent and crossed her arms. Diana continued, "And, your sister was a member of Exterminata. And, you were as well? Your father was one of the most prominent members until his death."

"I was a fucking kid," Reyna replied impatiently. "Not a member of Exterminata."

"Ma'am, come on," Thalia began. "Clarisse should be able to see her boyfriend, and it's not like we don't know where she is if we have more questions. We already have their statements."

Diana studied the three of them quietly. She finally nodded and spoke, "Take Clarisse to the hospital and then escort Reyna home. If I have any more questions, someone will stop by."

"I'm going to drive to the hospital," Clarisse decided as she turned and stormed to her car.

"Text me, Clarisse!" Thalia called. She received a middle finger in response. "Alright. Thanks!"

Thalia looked at Reyna and motioned with her head. Reyna slowly followed behind her and kept the jacket close to herself. As they got in the car, Reyna let out a groan of pain as she laid her head back.

"Do you need a doctor?" Thalia asked.

"No," Reyna declined. "It's just my side hurting from what happened weeks ago. And Lycaon's knee drove right into the wound when we landed. I just need sleep."

Thalia nodded and glanced at Reyna, not wanting to stare. Considering the only clothes that Reyna had on was the jacket, she couldn't be comfortable. Thalia spoke up, "I could have been back up, too."

"Clarisse just pulled up and told me to get in," Reyna waved off as she looked at Thalia. "She said Lycaon warned her about telling the cops."

"Course," Thalia said. "At least neither of you got hurt."

"Other than Chris," Reyna muttered as she looked out the window.

"Well, yeah. You can't blame yourself for that, though," Thalia assured. Reyna remained silent. Thalia started to drive to Reyna's house. "Is Hylla doing okay?"

"She's better," Reyna replied.

"Does she still hate me?"

"Not so much you as just everyone in general. In fact, she might like you more than others," Reyna supplied. A wince left her as she shifted.

"If it makes you or her feel better, all of the information that Hylla gave us will cripple Exterminata. We've already shut down some of their operations, cleared out their safehouses, and arrested a lot of their members," Thalia explained. "Best part is that we intercepted some messages. They think that Hylla is dead, so they won't blame her for this or go after her."

Reyna nodded and didn't say a word. Thalia glanced at her again, "And, I'm sorry about all that shit with you. Like arresting you."

"You were just doing your job," Reyna mumbled. A shrug left her.

"I didn't have any good proof. Just a hunch. So, it was kind of a dick move," Thalia retorted, even if it was a hit on her pride. "I just wanted to apologize."

"It's cool," Reyna dismissed.

"Is a clean slate cool as well?" Thalia asked. Reyna looked at her.

"It is," Reyna agreed. Thalia gave her a small smile but wasn't discouraged as it wasn't returned. "I don't hate you, Thalia. I'm not comfortable around any kind of hunter, which I think you can understand."

"I can," Thalia said with a nod. "Especially with your sister being part of Exterminata. But hey, we got a clean slate, right?"

Reyna nodded. She rolled her shoulders and groaned softly. Her head rested against the headrest, and a soft sigh left her. The rest of the car ride was silent. As Thalia pulled up to Reyna's house, the werewolf took a few moments to get out of the car.

"Thanks," Reyna said as she looked at Thalia. Then, she closed the door. She wrapped the jacket closer to herself and walked toward her house. Thalia waited until Reyna was inside to pull away. She was going to have to make a report on this.

On the bright side, Lycaon was really out of the picture now. He couldn't hurt Jason or anyone at the bar again. And, Thalia was sure this would be enough to keep Ma Gasket's ass behind bars. Things were finally settling down, and Thalia would just focus on spending time with her brother.
