Need advice for a new fic. For those unaware, I posted this idea at the end of the latest omake chapter and it got some pretty positive feedback along with suggestions that it could be its own fic rather than an omake.
Essentially the fic starts with Ozpin who, in a final gambit, tries to kill both himself and Salem using all the Relics in order to free Remnant from them both. It doesn't work and he ends up stuck in Jaune's head...while Salem ends up stuck in another girl's head shortly before both go to Beacon. Shenanigans ensue as the two immortals try to convince their hosts to continue their eternal war, no matter how petty.
Despite the possibility of this being dark, I'm going for a pure humor fic where both Jaune and Salem's new host are continously bothered by their new imaginary friends to try and incite conflict with the other. And when that fails both Salem and Ozpin are content at even just annoying the other such as Salem demanding that her host steal all the hot chocolate so Ozpin can't have any.
The biggest issue I have is that I'm undecided who the Salem host should be. I was primarily inspired by the fic 'How I met the Grimm Queen' (recommended reading, by the way) so my first thought was Weiss due to their similarities, though a few others suggested Pyrrha or Ruby due to how they would contrast against Salem and play off against Jaune.
The Salem host is important since it affects how all four interact. If Weiss is the host then Ozpin will lament that his reincarnation is basically simping for Salem's reincarnation, if Pyrrha is the host then Salem will constantly needle her about her 'poor taste in men' and how she apologizes too much, if Ruby is the host then Salem tries to corrupt Ruby and make her more evil to absolutely hilarious results etc etc.
So yeah, if you're interested in the fic, who do you guys think the Salem host should be and why? Currently the early reviews lean towards Pyrrha (and it would also make the fic an Arkos one), though others might be funnier given that all of them would react differently to Salem in their heads. Salem in turn would suffer more bounded to someone like Yang, Penny or Ruby versus Blake, Weiss or Pyrrha.
The only ones who aren't viable are villains like Neo or Cinder. It would end a lot of the plot if Salem's host was a bad guy who probably would just kill Jaune in the first chapter.
