Hiccup finished writing in his journal about his life after his third birthday and sighs "no one gives a care about me. They just prefer to treat me like I don't exist."
He puts his journal inside his little secret compartment in his floor with the desk covering it and lays down in his bed.
Everyone else was in their homes resting or in the hall cracking up jokes.
Hiccup closes his eyes "I don't want to live as a human anymore because no one wants me in their life and I agreed that I don't need love in my life anymore because it's a stupid emotion that leaves you sad."
Two hours later, as Hiccup was sleeping in his bed, the dragon raid horn blew.
Everyone rush to protect their village.
Women that have children, were hiding in the great hall to protect them and care for the elderly.
The noise woke Hiccup up.
Hiccup runs out of his room to be yelled at about being outside during a dragon raid.
Stoick grabs him and complains "what are you doing outside?!"
Hiccup doesn't answer him and retorts "why would it matter if I was outside during a dragon raid?!"
Stoick drops him in shock along with a couple of villagers around them.
Hiccup runs to the forge while dodging fire blast by dragons and villagers engage in battle with dragons.
Gobber comments "glad you could make it here to help."
Hiccup retorts "you think a dragon would waste their time on me?"
Gobber grins "they would need toothpicks?"
Hiccup sharpens a single blade axe.
Gobber collect a sword and hands a villager a repaired sword.
Stoick ask "Ack, what do we have?!"
Ack replies "Deadly Nadders, Monstrous Nightmares, Gronckles, Terrible Terrors, Hideous Zipplebacks!"
Stoick ask "any Night Furies?"
Ack replies "none so far."
Soon a dragon shot a house on fire.
The fire team race grabbing buckets of water to put out the fires.
Hiccup ignore the teens on the fire team.
Gobber glance at Hiccup worried about his cold attitude that changed him for the worst.
He ask "Hiccup, you still trying to impress that Hofferson lass into dropping her engagement to your cousin?"
Hiccup retorts "no, Gobber, I quit two days after her tenth birthday party and came to terms that it's better to bury my emotions on how I feel towards others and their feelings."
Soon they heard a screech and a villager yells "NIGHT FURY!"
The Night Fury blast a watch tower to pieces.
Hiccup watch from the forge window.
A villager complains "we need more help out here!"
Gobber sighs and says "man the forge, Hiccup. They need my help out there."
Hiccup ignores him and watches him leave before grabbing his invention and racing off to the cliff to setup his bola launcher.
He watches for the Night Fury to reveal itself.
The Night Fury blast a watch tower.
Hiccup fires his launcher at the Night Fury.
The Night Fury screeches as it falls from the sky and crash off raven point.
Hiccup runs down the hill and towards the forest to track down the Night Fury alone.
After the raid was over, Gobber returned to the forge to see Hiccup gone along with his invention.
Stoick gets debrief from the villagers of what they lost and what dragons they captured.
Afterwards, he walks down to the forge to check on Hiccup to see only Gobber and ask "where's Hiccup?"
Gobber answers "I don't know where he went."
Stoick frustrated says "I'll go organize a search party after helping the village clean up."
Gobber sighs "he changed, Stoick."
Stoick nods his head "yeah, he talks back to everyone who comments about him and disregard anything I tell him. I don't know what to do with him. I ask him to do something and he retorts why should he care about their problems."
Gobber sighs "he told me that he buried his emotions to protect himself from us."
Stoick gape "he did what?"
Gobber sighs "he said he buried his emotions to not feel anything. He doesn't show any emotion except for anger and coldness towards the villagers."
Stoick sighs "I can't even tell him lessons on being chief without him yelling that he doesn't want to be chief and told me that he rather be left alone."
(In the forest)
Hiccup search around ravens point until he comes across a tree that was hit by a strong force with a crater over the hill.
He walks over to the end of the trail to see a Night Fury trapped in his bola and retorts "those ungrateful villagers would surely respect me now if I wanted their respect. I rather see them coward in fear!"
The Night Fury listen in on Hiccup's anger towards his village and decides to give him power to get even with those who betrayed him.
Hiccup climbs down the hill and says "I would kill you Night Fury, but I rather free you because I don't care for my tribe. They turn their backs on me" and cuts the ropes.
The Night Fury pounce on him and kisses him with his mouth.
Afterwards, the Night Fury watches as the boy falls asleep and transforms into another Night Fury.
Three hours later, Hiccup groans, moving his hand to his face to see it claws and looks down to see his body is covered in black scales.
He panics and examines his body to see he was turned into a Night Fury and looks at the other Night Fury and ask "why did you change me into a Night Fury?"
The Night Fury answers "to give you power to make them coward in fear of you."
Hiccup curious ask "how do I get turned back into a human being?"
The Night Fury answers "you have to fall in love with a human being and they must love you back and kiss you in order to reverse the magic. Kissing you without the kiss feeling love, won't change you back."
Hiccup grins "I don't want to change back into a human being and I want to call you Toothless. My name is Hiccup."
Toothless's ears twitch at noises and smell humans coming and hides.
Hiccup extend his wings to examine them.
Stoick and the search parties find a broken tree with a crater leading over a cliff and slowly approaches it to gasped at seeing a Night Fury alive.
They see rope and a dagger on the ground.
Stoick yells "capture that Night Fury! It killed Hiccup!"
Hiccup turned to the voice to see Stoick and the villagers and growls at them.
Stoick jumps down and runs at the Hiccup to fight it.
The villagers follows after their chief.
Hiccup pounce on Stoick knocking him down and spins around wracking the villagers with his tail.
Villagers tried to grab the Night Fury's paws.
Hiccup slap a villager with his wings knocking villager down after another.
Alistair Hofferson got up and charge at the Night Fury.
Hiccup turns to Alistair Hofferson and pounce on top of him and becomes entrance by his eyes and begins calming down as images of Alistair and Ingrid sometimes babysit him while taking care of their daughter, Astrid Hofferson flash through his mind of happy memories before his mother was carried off somewhere.
The villagers gape in shock that the Night Fury was calming down just by staring at Alistair Hofferson for some reason and hurry up and grab his mouth and restrain his body from moving.
Stoick gets up dazed from being pounced on.
Alistair gets up and assist in help carrying the Night Fury who begins shedding tears remembering his mother.
Stoick and the villagers return from the forest carrying a Night Fury.
Gobber ask "did you find Hiccup?"
Stoick sighs "no, I believe this Night Fury killed my son."
Hiccup growls in the muzzle staring hateful at Stoick.
Alistair walks up the hill to see elder Gothi after staring into the Night Fury's eyes and figure out why it calm down from attacking.
Gobber followed Alistair up the hill to see Gothi.
Alistair knocks on the door.
Gothi opens the door to see Alistair Hofferson and Gobber and waves them in.
They entered the hut.
Alistair tells Gothi "we captured a Night Fury a half an hour ago and while we were trying to restrain it, it attack us until it pounced on me and stared into my eyes and began to calm down."
Gothi place her hand against his forehead to see images of him babysitting Baby Hiccup and their daughter before Valka Haddock was carried off by a dragon and begins scribble in the sand.
Gobber translate "the Night Fury doesn't sound like a Night Fury and it must not be killed because it has a secret to it's identity."
Alistair ask "what did it do to me because it was crying as we were carrying it through the forest?"
Gothi scribbles in the sand.
Gobber translate "it was crying over Valka Haddock."
They left with wondering what this Night Fury got to do with Valka Haddock.
Gobber hobbles down the hill to the dragon arena to check on the Night Fury.
He enters the dragon arena and unlocks the cage containing the Night Fury to see it laying down.
Hiccup lifts his head and turns to the open cage door and gets up and walks out to check who opened the gate.
Gobber ask "who are you, Night Fury?"
Hiccup sighs and claws runes in the stone floor.
Gobber reads "I didn't kill Hiccup, I am Hiccup."
Gobber looks at the Night Fury and says "prove it."
Hiccup growls and claws in the stone.
Gobber translate "we sing a song together in the forge as we work."
Gobber ask "if you're Hiccup, how did you get turned into a Night Fury?"
Hiccup sighs and claws in the stone.
Gobber translate "I shot down a Night Fury and released it and it kissed me to turn me into a Night Fury to help get revenge against the villagers who betrayed me."
He ask "is there a way to turn you back into a human being?"
Hiccup nods his head.
Gobber ask "how?"
Hiccup sighs and claws in the stone.
Gobber reads "not going to tell you or anyone because it doesn't mean anything to me anymore."
Hiccup decides to walk back into his cage after clawing in the stone.
Gobber translate "leave the cage open so I can stare at the stars."
Gobber leaves the cage door open and hobbles over to the great hall to inform Stoick of Hiccup being a Night Fury."
Stoick was in the hall planning another search for the dragon nest.
He tells the group "one more search before the ice sets in."
Ack complains "but those ships never come back."
Stoick comments "either we end them or they end us."
The men question if they should go on the quest to find the nest.
Hiccup secretly stalk Gobber, following him to the hall to hear the meeting.
Stoick comments "those who stay can build a pyre for Hiccup."
Everyone agree "we're with you, Stoick, I don't want to build a pyre for that hiccup because he doesn't have honor."
Hiccup huffs at their treatment towards him.
Snotlout and Astrid walk by the hall holding hands while the other three follow.
Fishlegs gasped "NIGHT FURY!"
Hiccup looked down from the roof to see Snotlout and Astrid holding hands and growls at them before running to avoid getting captured and hides.
Stoick and the warriors run out of the hall to see what the commotion was.
Gobber sighs "there you are, Stoick."
Stoick ask "Gobber what's wrong?"
Gobber sighs "Hiccup is alive."
Stoick ask "you found him? Where is he?"
Gobber nervous answers "he was turned into a Night Fury."
Everyone gasped in shock.
Astrid ask "Hiccup was turned into a Night Fury? That gives us a better chance to get rid of him."
Hiccup heard what Astrid said about him and felt anger take control of his mind and screech to get the teens attention and fires a shot at their feet knocking them down.
Gobber yells "HICCUP!"
Hiccup glance at Gobber and turns his head to ignore them and growls "I prefer to stay a dragon because I don't have a reason to turn back into a human again."
He leaves walking through the village staying clear from houses.
Astrid coughs "was that Hiccup?!"
Gobber sighs "yes that was Hiccup. He told me that if I let him rome around the village to stretch his legs and wings, he wouldn't attack the village."
Alistair helps his daughter up and comments "I didn't think he would fire a shot at the teens."
Gobber comments "I think it has to deal with them abandoned him. Before he was turned into a Night Fury, he told me that he buried his emotions to protect himself from us hurting him. The only emotions he shows is anger and coldness."
Fishlegs sighs "what happened for him to show violence against the villagers?"
Gobber sighs "I don't know, Fishlegs, but it was something that broke him to the point that he buried his feelings towards villagers and has a deep anger towards the teens."
Stoick comments "Gobber, make sure Hiccup is back in the arena and tomorrow, train the teens in dragon training."
Gobber sighs "okay, Stoick."
