"Incoming!"
Her eyes opened wide and a scream ripped through her as she realized she was falling from the sky. A boom echoed in her ears right before a strong pair of arms swooped under her. "W-what?"
"I got the anomaly. It's a female this time." BOOM BOOM "Ah, sorry, name's Dynamite. I'm not usually on the rescue team so I'm not great at the comforting thing"
They landed on the roof of a nearby building and she was still in shock just staring at the hero in front of her. 'What the hell is going on? Am I dreaming? No..this doesn't feel like a dream.'
"Got it….but Eraser...something is off. I need to bring her to you…...yeah…...are you at UA? No I….I'll explain when I get there." He sighed and pulled his mask up to expose his face. "Listen I know this must feel crazy to you but I need to take you to get some help. You aren't the first to come through and we can figure out more when we get to the others."
She nodded, her mind still reeling. "Ok...um...thank you.. Dynamite, right?"
"Yeah that's me. Come on, let's get you to safety. I'll carry you there so we can move faster." She was scared of being blasted through the sky but the feeling of safely being wrapped in his strong arms was soothing. He was so warm and smelled like smokey honey that consumed her senses. Without another word, they were off.
Aizawa called Vlad, All Might, and Recovery Girl to one of the holding cells to evaluate the anomaly. Of course, All Might brought snacks to try to win them over. Aizawa rolled his eyes and began to address the group, "Bakugo sounded troubled, but he refused to elaborate over the phone. We need to be prepared for whatever comes through that door." On que, a quick series of knocks interrupted him. All Might opened the door with Aizawa prepared to instantly stop her quirk.
"WAIT, you guys need to feel it." Bakugo's barking tone caught them off guard but they went along with his orders and allowed them to enter. Within seconds, the heroes realized why the blonde had been so concerned. "You FEEL that right? I'm not crazy?"
Aizawa's eyes glowed red as his quirk activated to the relief of everyone in the room. Her eyes were wide with confusion, "What are you guys talking about? What did I do?"
Everyone shifted, uncomfortable at confronting her question. Recovery girl offered a shrug, "Well dear, maybe we should start with what a quirk is. You obviously saw Dynamite's explosions from his hands and just now you witnessed Aizawa's quirk that allows him to turn off the quirks of others."
"Wait, but he used it on me…does that mean-?"
"Yes, it would seem that you have a quirk that you aren't aware of. Which is common among anomalies from the other world. However, you are particularly dangerous in that we can't physically SEE your power, but as I'm sure the men in this room agree, we can definitely feel it…"
Bakugo shifted and turned his head to the side to stare a hole into the wall, while the others just nodded in agreement. "D-did I hurt you guys? I'm so sorry... I don't even know how I'm here I-"
"Slow down, dear. You didn't hurt anyone but you could almost certainly cause harm to yourself. Your quirk causes an overwhelming attraction that the ordinary man probably wouldn't be able to stop himself from indulging in. Therefore, until we can get your quirk under control, you shouldn't be out by yourself…Dynamite! You had the longest exposure, are you feeling any lingering side effects from her quirk?"
"No, as soon as Eraser used his quirk, I felt completely normal again. I'm sorry for not saying anything over the phone...I didn't know how to describe it without sounding crazy."
All Might patted him softly on the shoulder, "It's ok Young Bakugo! You have only been a pro for a few weeks. This is definitely an unusual circumstance. I think we should go ahead and explain anomalies to her as well."
Aizawa nodded, before clearing his throat. "About a month ago, a hole opened in the sky and another person fell through. We originally thought he was from just a different part of our world, but after intense questioning, we realized he was warped from a completely different world that we didn't know existed. We don't know who is behind this, but we do know the League of Villains has a member with warping abilities. There have been 5 others, including you since that day. That's all we really know so far. I'm sorry to say that we probably won't be able to get you home anytime soon. Also, we have been terribly rude and haven't asked your name yet, have we?"
She was slow to respond as her brain was trying to keep up with all the new information hitting her, "My name is...Y/n. What am I supposed to do?" She could feel tears pricking in the corners of her eyes.
Vlad raised his hand to speak, "Well, most of the others have been moved into their own temporary apartments, but seeing as your quirk would leave you vulnerable….perhaps it would be better for her to temporarily stay with one of us until we have it figured out."
Recovery Girl put a finger up to her chin, "Well, Aizawa would be the obvious choice but that isn't possible because of his class schedule and Eri. The same could be said for you two as well. Bakugo proved that he was able to keep control over himself, he lives alone, and he has no other obligations besides hero work. I think he is our only option."
The blonde reached up, scratching the back of his head, "And just what am I supposed to do if her quirk activates again?"
"You have my personal number, correct? Call me should things get out of control and I'll be over as soon as possible. And as for you, did your cell phone happen to fall through with you?" She nodded and pulled the device from her pocket. "Here is a copy of my number as well. Please don't hesitate to call. We're going to take care of you." Tears threatened her again so she just nodded in response. "Well, I think we should break here for the day and give her some time to process everything."
With that, everyone said their goodbyes and headed their own ways. Bakugo didn't say another word and started off towards his car. He wasn't particularly happy about the arrangement but he knew there was no sense in being an ass about it. At least she was quiet, he liked that. He would have blasted himself if one of the other anomalies had to stay with him. Still never saying a word, he went to the passenger side and opened the door for her.
She thanked him and climbed in, even cars here were similar looking but completely different brands. His car was clean and smelled the same as him. It was an intoxicating scent but she didn't want to outright ask him what it was. The ride to his apartment was quick, maybe 5 minutes at most. She reached for the door handle but a sudden warmth grasped her hand to stop her. "I'll get it." Bakugo killed the engine and got out to open her door. Fire fanned across her cheeks. She tried not to let him see the pink hue and hurried out a thank you again.
As they made their way to his door, both of their phones pinged. Aizawa sent them both a text saying that a more in depth evaluation of her quirk would be tomorrow at 9am. Bakugo let out a huff and unlocked the door. His temper had evened out a lot since he turned 20 and gained his pro status this year but small things could still set him off occasionally.
All the lights were off as they entered. He flipped the switch and a ceiling light illuminated the room. Everything was spotless and he had mostly an earth tone color palette with several pops of deep reds. A few manga scattered on the couch drew her eye but she didn't get to focus on the titles before he interrupted her thoughts. "Are you hungry?" She shook her head, honestly just exhausted from the day and craving sleep. He nodded and led her to the first door in the hallway. "This is my guest bedroom. Make yourself comfortable.. I'm the last door if you need anything"
"Uh, thank you Dynamite, sir."
His eyebrow raised and he shook his head, "You're gonna be here a while, my name's Bakugo. You don't have to use my Hero name."
"O-ok. Thank you for everything today Bakugo… I really don't know what would have happened to me without you."
He chuckled softly, "Well, probably nothing good. Anyway… try to get some rest. Sleep well." And without another word he disappeared to his own room.
She turned around finally scoping out the guest room. There was a queen bed pushed into one corner with a beautiful purple bed set. The only light source was a small lamp sitting on a desk in the opposite corner of the room. This room didn't smell anything like him and a little disappointment filled her. 'What's wrong with me? You just met him idiot..quit acting like a teenager.' She didn't have much energy left so she stripped down to just her panties and t-shirt before snuggling under the blankets. It was nice and cozy, and she felt so safe here. 'What have I gotten myself into? There's no way all of this can be real, right? And what about Jax, my family, my friends?' She pulled a pillow to her chest and hugged it tight. Within minutes, she drifted to sleep, wondering what tomorrow would hold.
Bakugo, on the other hand, tossed and turned most of the night. He was disturbed by himself today. Even though it was just her quirk, his thoughts haunted him. He wanted to pin her down right there on the roof and devour her. He shook his head again, trying to erase the memories like a bad etch-a-sketch. 'Fucking dumbass...what is wrong with you? You're supposed to be a hero... I have to keep her safe. I wouldn't do anything like that…..why do I feel so awful then? Shitty fucking quirk…'
He pulled his pillow over his face with a groan and eventually, sleep claimed him too.
