Chapter 26: Power Ranger Heritage
"Look out!" shouted Rainbow as she and the others dived out of the way.
The girls were locked in combat and in their ranger suits as they were dealing with a mutant. Another attack meant another day that the teens had to jump into action. As for Shining Armor, he was currently dealing with some minions in another area as they were moreso a diversion for the real attack the girls were handling.
However, while the girls were fighting the monster, one person was missing. Ash wasn't with his team, as the boy was in the command center. He was currently trying to locate the next missing zord as his search had minimized it to three areas. The boy and his A.I. were trying to get a head start before their enemies could.
"Ash, the monster is destroyed," said Sunset as the screen showed the girl contacting him with her Morpher.
"Excellent work, Sunny. Head home for the rest of the day," stated the boy.
The red ranger nodded as she shut off the transmission. Ash sighed as he leaned back in his chair.
"Master Ash, perhaps you should take a break. You've been working hard these past few days," said Rachel.
"I can't rest, Rachel. There are still more zords out there," stated the boy. "Anyways, the scanner is still trying to narrow down the options. While we wait, pull the archive footage."
"At once," stated the computer as she began to work her magic.
Many files came up as Ash clicked on one of them, and a video file came up. The boy was watching the videos as he continued his ranger history.
"I realized it's not just the costumes and powers that give me strength. It's who and what I am that empowers me."
"I'm a Power Ranger, 'till the end!"
"To those who possess the great power, all things are possible."
"Thank you, rangers. You've done a great service to the entire universe."
"Once a ranger, always a ranger."
"He really is the greatest ranger of all."
Ash paused the video file; it showed Cole talking to someone walking in the distance.
"The greatest ranger of all, huh?" said Ash.
The boy soon shut things off as he left Rachel to continue her search. After bidding the A.I. goodbye, Ash made his way to his room. Once the boy was gone, Rachel began to pull up a file as she began to decipher it. The A.I. had discussed the file in the Morphin Grid when the teens were venturing into the Himalayas, trying to retrieve the Bear zord.
The A.I. bypassed the security clearance as she had full access to what was inside. Soon a voice was heard when the file was cracked open.
"I see you managed to get it open. Congrats. Here lies something that will help you in a crisis. The signal you send out will be picked up by its corresponding targets. If ever in danger, don't hesitate to call. We rangers look out for one another. May the power protect you." said the recorded voice.
"The concept of history plays a fundamental role in human thought. It invokes notions of human agency, change, the role of material circumstances in human affairs, and the putative meaning of historical events. It raises the possibility of "learning from history." And it suggests the possibility of better understanding ourselves in the present by understanding the forces, choices, and circumstances that brought us to our current situation. It is, therefore, unsurprising that philosophers have sometimes turned their attention to efforts to examine history itself and the nature of historical knowledge. These reflections can be grouped into a work called "philosophy of history." This work is heterogeneous, comprising analyses and arguments of idealists, positivists, logicians, theologians, and others, and moving back and forth over the divides between European and Anglo-American philosophy and hermeneutics and positivism."
The students in the class were listening to their teacher speak about the philosophy of history as they looked at the blackboard behind him that had multiple timelines.
At that moment, a sound was heard. A snore caught everyone's attention as everyone turned in the direction it was coming from. Rainbow was leaning back in her chair with her head over her as she was fast asleep. The teacher was unhappy as he began to walk toward the chromatic-haired girl.
"Rainbow? Rainbow!" whispered Twilight as she nudged her friend to wake up.
The bookworm tried to warn her friend, but the teacher was upon them. The lavender-haired girl smiled sheepishly as she retreated out of view. The teacher then dropped a book on the desk of the sleeping girl.
"42!" stated Rainbow as she woke up. "Is that correct?"
"Yes... is this were math class!" stated the teacher as Rainbow looked up. The girl realized she was sleeping in class, and the other students began laughing at the girl.
"Well, Ms. Dash. If you have time to sleep in class, then you must know the answers, right?"
"Uhm, y-yeah!" smiled Rainbow nervously.
"Then answer me this? Who said the phrase: Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it."
"Uhm, it's... you know... that... guy... who... reads books..." said Rainbow as Twilight began to smack herself with her own notebook.
"Correct," said the teacher.
"I am?" said Rainbow as she leaned in with hope.
"NO!" growled the teacher as the girl sank back in her seat. "But you can the rest of the day finding out who said that... in detention!"
Rainbow now fully fell through her chair as Twilight sighed and facepalmed.
"I hate history!" stated Rainbow as she walked in the hallway.
"This wouldn't happen if you didn't sleep in class," stated Twilight as she walked alongside her friend who had just left detention.
"History is boring. Ain't nobody gonna remember shit from a long time ago. What's the point of learning it?" said Rainbow.
"Remember what our teacher said: Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it. It's a saying that says if you fail to learn and understand things that have occurred, you're gonna make the same mistakes again," said Twilight.
"Why can't people say that shit? Why do they gotta be all philosophical?" complained Rainbow.
"It would help if you studied instead of slacking!" stated Twilight. "And for the record, the person who said that is George Santayana!" The girl took offense that Rainbow managed to screw up the name of who said that quote as just some guy who read books.
At that moment, their bracelets began to beep. The pair looked around, seeing nobody was around, given it was the end of the day. With the coast clear, they answered their bracelets.
"What's up, Rach?" said Dash.
"Ash wants you two to come to the command center. He says he has some important business for you and the rest of the girls."
"On our way," said Twilight to the A.I. as the transmission ended.
Twilight and Rainbow had their bracelets turn into Morphers as they touched them and turned into sparks of lights resembling their colors. They quickly zoomed upward as they flew from the school toward the command center.
The pair soon landed in the command center as they were in the main room.
"We're here!" said Rainbow as she saw that apart to see Rarity, Fluttershy, and Pinkie were present; she assumed that whatever business would only require the four of them, given they were rangers.
"Any idea why Ash called for us?" said Twilight as she sat on the couch and set her backpack down.
"None, sugarcubes. All he said was that he wanted us to gather together to discuss something."
"What does he want? To give us a history lesson?" joked Dash.
"Glad you're all here. Cause it's time to learn," said Ash as he was seen walking down from one of the upper levels of the command center.
"Aw, come on, I was joking! Fuck history!" said Rainbow, as she didn't want to endure another painful time.
"Now we know who got detention today," snickered Sunset as the girls, minus Twilight, laughed at their alethic friend.
"What are we learning?" asked Twilight.
"For a while, I've been searching the Morphin Grid and looking into the archives. The archives hold many things, including history."
"NOOO!" groaned Rainbow as she felt like her brain was going to hurt.
"Ranger history. It's time I share with you girls your heritage as rangers," said Ash.
Rainbow immediately perked up when she heard that.
"Did you say, rangers? Never mind, this is history that I don't mind learning!"
"Why can't you be this excited in class?" asked Twilight.
"Hey, that's boring shit. This is the good shit right here!" expressed the girl as Twilight rolled her eyes.
"Pardon, me, Ash. But what do you mean when you refer to their heritage?" asked Rarity.
"You girls remember Cole and his friends?" asked Ash as they nodded. "Sunset, do you remember what he said to you when we teamed up?"
"He said: There are other rangers out there. We all fight for the same goal," said the bacon-haired girl.
"Exactly. I've told you, girls, that there are more rangers before you four. It's time I share with you all how it started. Rachel!" said Ash as the A.I. appeared.
The screen behind Ash began to load up a file as the table flipped over to reveal some snacks and drinks. Rainbow immediately grabbed a bag of popcorn as she propped her feet up. The others grabbed snacks as Twilight had a notepad to take notes on what Ash was about to show them.
"Ready, Master Ash?" said Rachel.
"Play it," said the boy as he rolled to the side and let the video play.
"If you're watching this, a new generation of rangers is upon us. You all have been selected and tasked with protecting your home from the forces of evil. Through this journey, you'll encounter many things. Things that test you, both mentally and physically. But as long as you remember what it means to defend and protect the innocent. You will always have the power. This is a confidential record and a video diary only for those entrusted. What you're about to see is the history of the Power Rangers."
"History of the Power Rangers?" said Fluttershy as the girls wondered what the voice was saying.
"To begin, we need to go back to where it all started in a little place called Angel Grove. Five teenagers with attitude were recruited to fight the evil forces." said the voice as the screen showed an actual video of the five individuals who would become the first rangers.
"Their names were Jason, Trini, Billy, Zack, and Kimberly. They harnessed the power of the dinos to become Earth's first Power Rangers. Together they fought against the evil space sorceress, Rita Repulsa. And under the guidance of intergalactic being Zordon, they bravely defended Earth which caused Rita to create her own ranger to combat them."
The screen then changed to show the five teenagers combating minions and monsters Rita would send to destroy them. The video then changed as it showed another individual Rita would choose as her evil ranger.
"Rita's magic was strong as she took another teenager named Tommy Oliver. He became the evil Green Ranger. She commanded him to destroy the rangers, and he almost succeeded. But despite being under her evil control, they never gave up on him. They destroyed the power sword and freed Tommy from her control."
The screen showed the video where the rangers freed Tommy from Rita's control and soon offered him a chance to work together.
"From there, Tommy joined the team as the sixth ranger. However, it didn't last long. The Green Ranger powers were only temporary and soon faded away."
"So, what happened after that?" said Rarity.
"With the arrival of a new villain, Lord Zedd. Zordon and Alpha need something to combat him. And so the White Ranger was born, and the person who inherited that power, who thought he would never be a ranger again, was Tommy."
The video showed the appearance of the five teens seeing Tommy as he took off his helmet and smiled at his friends.
"Lord Zedd was hell-bent on bringing the destruction of Earth. However, with three rangers leaving the team, they needed to transform their powers into three individuals who would replace them. Trini, Zack, and Jason passed on their powers to Adam, Rocky, and Aisha, who stepped forward to protect the people. And just in time, cause both Rita and Zedd teamed up to form the most powerful force the rangers ever faced. Bringing with them was a new terror by the name of Rito. The new team fought bravely, but it wasn't enough. And as a result, their zords and powers were destroyed."
"However, a ranger never gives up. Zordon sent them on a quest to find Ninjor. A warrior from the past that taught the rangers the secrets of the ancient ninja. They gained new powers and new zords. However, along the way, they both new enemies and friends. Soon it was time for another ranger to say goodbye. Kimberly passed on her power to Catherine. Together this team of rangers was known as the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers."
The video ended as Ash looked at the girls, who all began to make small talk.
"And I thought only we had a weird teenage life," said Sunset.
"So, they were the ones that started it all?" said Pinkie.
"Yup, you girls have them to thank. Cause without them, we wouldn't have the many rangers that came after," said Ash.
"How many are we talking?" asked Rainbow.
"Keep watching," smiled Ash, as he had already seen this video multiple times.
"Following that, they were under attack. Rita and Zedd hatched a plan to destroy the rangers and their command. They got out just in time as it blew to pieces. They soon found the Zeo crystal, a mystical power that guided them into the next chapter of their lives as rangers. The team comprised Tommy, Rocky, Adam, Catherine, and Tanya. Together they were Zeo Power Rangers."
"Zeo?" said Pinkie, as that name sounded a bit weird.
"The powers were incredible; however, an old friend showed up when they needed reinforcements. Jason returned and took on the Gold Ranger's powers, solidifying his position as the sixth ranger. Together they took on the Machine Empire led by King Mondo and Queen Machina. Soon after that was their high school graduation as they were ready to take on the world."
"So, they were rangers throughout high school?" asked Rainbow.
"I can't imagine being a ranger for that long. Kinda makes me wonder if that's what we'll have to go through," said Sunset as she looked at her friends. The girl was a bit scared to think that them being a ranger was probably going to be longer than she anticipated.
"However, they had one more adventure to go. It was time to shift into a higher gear."
"Shift into Turbo!" said Tommy on the video.
"The old rangers were gone forever. But the Turbo Rangers were born. A space pirate named Divatox launched an attack on Earth; Tommy and his crew were given the powers of Turbo and took her head on. But with an incident involving Rocky, he was soon replaced by a kid named Justin."
The girls saw the video in front of them and were surprised to see someone younger than them, even younger than the CMC, take on the responsibilities of being a ranger.
"However, after being rangers for so long, it was time for Tommy and his friends to hang their helmets. They each chose someone to be their successor as they passed on the power to four individuals. Tj, Cassie, Ashley, and Carlos proved they had what it took to be Power Rangers."
"From here, this is where everything changed."
"How so?" asked Aj to Ash.
"Cause from here on out, the power was no longer passed from ranger to ranger. Keep watching, and you'll see," said the boy.
"Divatox was tough, and the Piranhatrons were relentless. But Divatox wasn't ready to give up and staged a fearsome attack on the rangers. Taking out their command center and their powers with it."
For the second time, the command center of the rangers was destroyed as the rangers lost their powers.
"Divatox headed for space and for Earth's ultimate destruction. The rangers knew they had to follow her into space. Which meant they had to leave behind their home and the world they once knew... forever."
"Forever?" said Pinkie as that got her to deflate her hair slightly. Especially cause the screen showed the rangers in their rocket shooting into space as Justin was left behind because he was too young to go.
"The end of the Turbo Rangers was the beginning of something else. The journey into space itself was treacherous. And the line between friend and foe was a thin one."
The video showed Tj and his crew as they were attacked by a ranger who thought them to be intruders for boarding his ship.
"However, they soon earned Andros' trust. He proved he was more than a friend and just the kind of leader they would need to fight a new enemy. An enemy called, Astronema! They thought they had no hope, but Andros brought them the Astromorphers. Bringing forth a new team, the Space Rangers!"
"Let's Rocket!" said the group as they morphed.
"However, their team still needed to be completed. The Space Rangers freed Zane from his deep freeze, and the Silver Space Ranger was a noble addition to the team. Together they managed to defeat Astronema, and the Earth was saved. However, it came at a great cause. Zordon sacrificed himself to spread all his energy across the galaxy to rid it of all evil forces. Thus the end of the rangers came to a conclusion as well as the Zordon Era."
"So that's it? That's how it ends?" said Rainbow.
"I mean, you don't get much better than that. All evil is finally defeated. What else is left?" asked Sunset.
"Funny you should say that," smiled Ash.
"Or so they thought. Deep in space, another battle raged on. On the distant planet of Mirinoi, five new heroes: Leo, Damon, Kendrix, Mia, and Kai, retrieved the Galaxy Quasar Sabers and were chosen to be the Power Rangers of the Lost Galaxy. They would have to combine their powers to defeat their mortal enemy, Trakeena. They were soon joined by Leo's brother, who would become the Magna Defender to serve as their sixth member. Trakeena threatened to destroy the space colony, Terra Venture. Trakeen took on a horrifying new form; the red ranger and his battleizer were the colony's only hope. With Trakeena destroyed, the people of Terra Venture were forever grateful to the rangers of the Lost Galaxy."
"So, that's the end, then?" said Fluttershy.
Ash didn't answer as he pointed at the video that kept on playing.
"Meanwhile, on Earth, an elite team was being put together to fight a new battle against an invasion of demons. A government organization called Lightspeed Rescue developed technology and highly sophisticated weapons to fight against the invaders. Their team comprised five individuals, Chad, Joel, Dana, Kelsey, and their leader, Carter. However, to combat their foe, Vypra, they needed one more to complete their mission. And that's when Ryan joined the team. Together, the Lightspeed Rescue Rangers proved to be a success."
Suddenly the video stopped.
"Hey, I was watching that!" said Rainbow.
"Sorry, but I gotta check on the washer. Give me five minutes," said Ash as he left the main room.
"Well, this seems like a good place to pause for a break," said Fluttershy.
The other girls seemed to agree with that idea as they got up from the couch and stretched their legs.
"Okay, I got the clothes in the dryer, so they should be finished by the time the rest of the video ends," said Ash as he came back to see the girls also settling in to watch the rest of the video diary.
"We all good?" asked Sunset to the girls as they were primed and ready to continue watching.
Ash told Rachel to resume as the video record kept on playing. The video showed a giant spaceship traveling through a time vortex. It soon crashed, landed, and exploded, but not before the people inside managed to get out. Soon the leader of the team of rangers spoke.
"My friends and I are from the year 3000..."
"Hold on!" shouted Rainbow as the video paused on her call.
"Rainbow?!" said the others as they glared at their friend for interrupting.
"Power Rangers came from the future?" asked the chromatic-haired girl to her leader.
"It's a long, complicated story. Best to let the video explain," said Ash as it resumed.
"Rangers from the future chased an evil mutant criminal through time. Together Wes, Jen, Trip, Lucas, and Katie formed the Time Force Rangers. But it took a modern-day hero to get the job done. It took a while for Eric to learn that the greatest virtue of being a ranger isn't power. But the reward of helping mankind. Ultimately, they captured all the escaped mutants and their leader, Ransik, in which they said goodbye to Wes and the year 2001."
"Following them was a new generation. Cole joined, and the Wild Force rangers were formed. Using spirits of the ancient animals to fight the evil orgs, creatures determined to conquer Earth through destruction and pollution. The final member to join the team was Merrick, the Lunar Wolf. Armed hand in hand, they defeated Master Org."
"Until recently," said Twilight.
"Either way, he's destroyed once more. And it's thanks to Cole and his friends for helping us," said Ash.
"And giving us these sweet jackets!" said Rainbow as she had on the jacket they had made by their friends.
"Three unlikely ninja students commanded the power of Earth, Air, and Water. However, it was the power of Thunder that gave them their biggest challenge. But their greatest enemies proved to be their greatest allies. In addition, with Earth at the brink of destruction, another friend, Cam. Went back in time to retrieve the one power that could save them all. The power of the Green Samurai Ranger. In their final battle against Lothor, the rangers made the ultimate sacrifice. Using their inner ninja powers, they banished Lothor into the Abyss of Evil. The Ninja Storm Rangers were the Shane, Tori, Dustin, Blake, Hunter, and Cameron."
"Huh, ninjas are real!"
"That's what you took away from that!" said Twilight to Rainbow as the others shook their heads.
"After being away for so long, a familiar face made his presence known. Now a paleontology professor, Tommy looked to get away from any trouble. But as a ranger, you should always suspect trouble to find you. And in the form of three detention students, all with different personalities, he got just that. Together the three retrieved the Dino Gems, paving the way for their destiny as the Dino Thunder Rangers. A faculty lab experiment turned Anton Mercer into a mutated dino called Mesogog. After a run-in with Trent and helping him with his struggle between good and evil, he joined the team as the White Dino Thunder Rangers. Ultimately, they used their raw power of the Dino Gems to destroy Mesogog."
"Dinos rock!" said Pinkie as she imagined herself riding on a T-rex.
"I wouldn't mind riding a Pteranodon," said Fluttershy as she envisioned herself flying above the clouds on the creature's back.
"In a magical dimension, the forces of darkness came into power, and a war called the "Great Battle" between good and evil began, all the while the citizens of the human world remained unaware. An army of monsters, led by a magnificent warrior named Morticon, swarmed the land with their sights set on taking over the magical realm, the human realm, and beyond. The army of Morticon, opposed by five wizards, the most powerful wizard of all Leanbow, cast a spell to push back the dark forces and close the underworld's walls forever. The Gatekeeper sealed the gates for all eternity. The army of Light successfully thwarted the dark forces' attempt to take the surface world, but the five wizards lost their lives. Leanbow, who sealed himself on their side of the Gate to make sure evil sources do not escape, journeyed to the underworld."
"Magical dimension, huh? Sounds... interesting," said Twilight as she was letting her geek side show.
"In the present day, Briarwood, the sorceress Udonna recruited five teenagers to help repel the forces of evil from escaping. Training them in the mystic arts, Nick, Chip, Xander, Madison, and Vida became the next heroes. Soon they were joined by Daggeron, the Solaris Knight. The Mystic Force Rangers defeated the Master of the Underworld using their powerful magic and incredible martial arts skills."

"Five brave, skilled, and adventurous young people are chosen to search for several magical jewels that were long ago taken from the Corona Aurora, also known as "Crown of the Gods," to prevent them from coming into the possession of Moltor and Flurious, who are brothers connected to ice and fire banished long ago by the Corona's guardian for having attempted to steal it. Billionaire explorer Andrew Hartford discovered the Corona Aurora, selected five talented youths, and modified their DNA to grant them exceptional physical powers to combat evil. They were soon joined by a Mercurian named who joined their ranks as the Mercury Ranger. Operation Overdrive consisted of Mack, Will, Dax, Ronnie, Rose, and Tyzonn."
"Well, jewelry is a girl's best friend, after all. Why those gems must spark all the time!" said Rarity, thinking about using the priceless gems for some of her designs.
"For over 10,000 years, a spirit of pure evil known as Dai Shi had been locked away and safely guarded by the Pai Zhua - The Order of the Claw - a secretive Kung Fu clan. The Pai Zhua select their three top members, Jarrod, Theo Martin, and Lily Chilman, to become the new guardians of Dai Shi. However, Jarrod's arrogant and bullying nature led to him being excluded. Instead, a rookie named Casey Rhodes was chosen. During the initiation ceremony, Jarrod returned and attacked Master Mao, inadvertently breaking the vessel containing Dai Shi's essence as he did so. The freed Dai Shi killed Master Mao and took over Jarrod's body. The new guardians traveled to Ocean Bluff to seek their new master and found him to be a man named Robert "R.J." James - chef and owner of Jungle Karma Pizza. After testing them, R.J. granted them the powers and abilities of the Jungle Fury Power Rangers. They were soon joined by their mentor, Rj, and a new comrade in Dominic as the rangers defeated Dai Shi and his army of undead Rinshi warriors from attempting to take over the world and allow animals to rule over humans."
"That was sick. Learning Kung Fu and using animal spirits to fight evil. So, is there an application to enroll in this school?" asked Rainbow.
"Yeah, and they'd kick your ass out the moment you entered," snickered Ash as she glared at him.
"In a different dimension, An A.I. computer virus named Venjix took over all of the Earth's computers, created an army of robot "Grinder" droids, and destroyed or enslaved almost all of humanity. Only the city of Corinth remains, protected by an almost impenetrable force field from the toxic atmosphere of the wasteland outside. To combat Venjix's encroaching evil, the mysterious Doctor K created the RPM Power Rangers to fight him off and recruited Air Force pilot Scott Truman, hero-obsessed Flynn McAllistair, and reformed airhead socialite Summer Landsdown. Joining them would be Dillion and Ziggy, each becoming the Black and Green RPM rangers. It wasn't long before they were joined by RPM Rangers Gold and Silver. Eventually, Venjix created a body to personally destroy the Rangers; he infiltrated and attacked Corinth, taking over the city and crippling the Rangers. However, Tenaya, who was Dillion's sister and Venjix's general, eventually defected and helped fight back, resulting in a building destroying Venjix. In the aftermath, the RPM rangers leave Corinth to rebuild Earth."
"Hold, another dimension?" said Twilight. "You mean like how you're from another dimension?"
"Yes. See, it all has to do with the Morphin Grid. The Morphin Grid is a multiversal energy field for all Power Rangers. It gives power to any ranger, regardless of where they are. It gives power to every generation of rangers." said Ash. "Besides, there's still a bit more you all need to see."
"Centuries ago in Japan, Nylock monsters invaded our world. But samurai warriors defeated them with power symbols passed down from parent to child. When they returned, they planned to flood the Earth. It was all up to a new generation of heroes that stood in their way. Led by their leader, Jayden, Kevin, Mike, Mia, Emily, and Antonio became the Samurai Power Rangers. Together they defeated the evil Master Xandred and his army of Nighloks once and for all."
The video quickly transitioned to the next set of rangers the archives had.
"When the evil Warstar aliens attacked Earth, the supernatural guardian Gosei, assigned to protect the Earth by his mentor Zordon, and his faithful robot assistant Tensou recruited five teenagers with attitude to combat the invading forces. Equipped with powers that granted them mastery over martial arts and other forms of combat, the teenagers transform into the latest champions of good: The Power Rangers Megaforce. Troy, Gia, Jake, Noah, and Emma fought bravely to defend their home as the Megaforce Power Rangers. However, an alien armada invaded, and they had to unlock new powers. The power to use the abilities and skills of all the past rangers from before. Coupled with a new ally, an alien named Orion, they defeated the armada as they were joined by the past rangers in a legendary battle."
"Using the power of the past rangers?" said Fluttershy.
"Rachel, what's the whiteboard looking like?" asked Ash.
The computer had been scribbling down a timeline that depicted each of the ranger teams and all the accomplishments.
"Currently, we've reviewed 15 teams of rangers," responded the A.I.
"15? How many more are there?" asked Sunset.
"We're nearing the tail end of the tape," said Ash as they all turned back to look at the video diary.
"In another dimension, sixty-five million years ago, a dinosauroid alien named Keeper was pursued through the galaxy by Sledge, an intergalactic bounty hunter bent on acquiring ten magical stones called the Energems in Keeper's care and using them to conquer the universe. Keeper crash-landed on prehistoric Earth, entrusting the gems to many dinosaurs for safe-keeping, and crippled Sledge's ship with a bomb that left the bounty hunter stranded in deep space. Unfortunately, Sledge's collection of asteroids held in a tractor beam accidentally rained down on prehistoric Earth and ultimately caused the extinction of the dinosaurs. In the present day, Keeper was found by paleontologist Kendall Morgan, and they set up a base under the Amber Beach Dinosaur Museum in the city of Amber Beach. They began their mission to find the Energems, but five had already been found by teenagers, who used them to morph into the Dino Charge Power Rangers. The largest group of rangers to ever gather at 10, they fought bravely and defeated Sledge and his allies, once and for all."
"So... if rangers exist in not only our dimension but several others as evidenced by Ash and due to the RPM and Dino Charge Rangers. The question now is, how many are there?" said Twilight.
"Well, if there are more rangers out there, why not just build something to go to different dimensions and recruit them. That way, we can go ham on Sombra and his pals, and bingo, problem solved," said Rainbow.
"It's not that easy, Dash. Most rangers don't have their powers anymore. Some... never even wanted them to begin with. I'm sure you girls can at least relate to that feeling, right?" said Ash as the girls' looking away for a bit confirmed his statement. "Besides, once a ranger hangs their helmet, it's because they've done all they can. They leave it in the hands of the next generation to not only follow in their footsteps but to add on to their legacy as rangers."
"Speaking of legacy, we're almost done," said Rachel as the video kept playing.
"Back in the main dimension of the Power Rangers, the reigning champion of Galaxy Warriors, Galvanax, claimed the Ninja Nexus Star. Earth's greatest ninja sacrificed himself to keep the universe safe. A new team had risen ten years later to protect the power stars. Brody, Preston, Calvin, Hayley, Sarah, and Aiden became the Power Rangers Ninja Steel. When Galvanax was destroyed, his general Madame Odius survived and rose to power. Determined to take the stars for herself, the rangers had to combat her once more, and in the ultimate battle, brought peace to the world."
"So, what's left?" asked Applejack as she could see only one file remained on the tape.
"Scientists in the city of Coral Harbor had discovered a way to convert the infinite power of the Morphin Grid into a physical substance called "Morph-X," providing the city with a source of unlimited clean energy. To protect the city, a secret agency called Grid Battleforce combined Morph-X with animal DNA to create a new Power Rangers team. The Beast Morpher Rangers: Devon Daniels, Ravi Shaw, and Zoey Reeves defended the Morphin Grid from Evox, an evil sentient computer virus from another dimension, and his evil avatar clones of the original Ranger candidates Blaze and Roxy, who were rendered unconscious. They gained two new teammates, Nate Silva, the head researcher and scientist of Grid Battleforce, who became the Gold Ranger, and Steel, a robot Nate was forced to create as a body for Evox, who gained sentience and became the Silver Ranger. Along the way, the Rangers uncover Evox's true origins and receive help from past rangers and allies of the Ranger Operators to defeat Evox and his minions once and for all."
With that, the video ran through the final file in its database. However, the voice kept on speaking.
"And now, the time has come for a new generation of heroes. With Earth again threatened by evil forces, it now falls on you. You are what stands between them and the conquering of your world. Though the path may be tough and full of difficult experiences, know that you're not alone. Each ranger that came before laid the foundation for a great legacy that was to come. And each new team built on that foundation, adding layer upon layer. It's now time for you all to etch your name into history. Remember these words in your time of need: To those who possess great power, all things are possible."
The video recording ended as the screen shut off for a second. Before anybody could say anything, an alarm went off. The screen came back on as it showed a horde of minions marching toward their destination.
"They're here," said Rachel.
"Then let's do our job," said Sunset.
"Just as those who came before us. We follow in their footsteps," said Aj.
"Hands in," said Ash.
All the girls put their hands in on top of the boy as they gathered in a circle. They all looked at each other with a smile.
"Rangers on three," said Ash. "One... two... three... Harmony Rangers!"
"United as one!" shouted the girls as they all broke their hands.
Ash and his team ran out the doors as the others wished them good luck. The team was all running in a single line as they had smiles on their faces; watching the history of their heritage as rangers gave them even more confidence and purpose to defeat Sombra and his gang.
"To those who possess great power, all things are possible."
Author's Note: So a couple of things. I had this chapter done a while back, but didn't upload it due to me working on my other stories. However, as many of you know, recently the actor who played Tommy Oliver, Jason David Frank, passed away. And seeing as how this chapter discusses and revisits all the history involving the rangers, I'd figured it would be something nice for all of us to reminisce. Now, prior to the sudden death, I did have an idea for Tommy to show up, and I still plan to. I want to be able to do a small tribute to the character that not only played an important role in my life and one of my favorite franchises, but for everyone who he touched their hearts. So know that when we get to the part of the story where Tommy makes his appearance, it will serve to honor and tribute the man himself. And as many of you might know, many of the quotes said here were said by Tommy at one point. Again, rest in peace, bud. You were not only the greatest ranger to ever exist, but a hero and role model we looked up to.
Now, I know I didn't discuss SPD mainly because it takes place in the year 2025, according to the show. And seeing as how I had no way to properly explain it existing, despite it debuting in 2005, I just left it alone. Unlike Time Force where they give an explanation of why Jen and her team travel to the past, this one was tough to justify since it takes place way in the future. But know that I do acknowledge that season as it was one of the ones I grew up with. Also, I didn't include Dino Fury, simply because I haven't seen the show yet nor has it ended.
