Carmen's P.O.V:
It was a cool October night my friends and I were in somewhere in Finland. At one point I was Carmen Whitlock, but I left that name behind to protect my family and go by Carmen Sandiego now. Sometimes I ask my sister for help and sometimes Peter who somehow knows how to contact me just does so out of nowhere with a heads up. Tonight, I wish he did one of his heads up because it would have lessened the surprise of the call I was going to have after Zack and Ivy were asleep.
"Hey Red?" Player called through my ear piece confused about something. What got him confused he already knew Peter, his wife Charlotte, and my sister Nina. Could I have been found by someone less friendly like Jane or Alec Volturi? If so I'm in trouble.
"Yeah Player?" I replied still working out who it could be. Peter would call me directly so it's not him. Charlotte talks to me through email unless Peter calls so not her either. Nina is in Australia right now doing a favour for me so it wouldn't be her unless something happened to her or my friend, I asked her to watch over.
"Some guy calling himself 'the major' wants me to patch him through to you do you know him?" as Player asked that question I froze. Now he calls after all this time. What trouble did he get into now? It wasn't Peter it was my brother Jasper. This is going to be a first since his girlfriend didn't like Peter and Charlotte he didn't bother introducing her to Nina or me. It made it worse that her 'family' talked bad about Peter and Charlotte.
"Red?" Player tried to get my attention but there was too much going through my head. I didn't hear him call me the next couple of times I had questions. Did Peter know about this call? Is my brother hurt? Will Zack and Ivy be left out of this?
"CARMEN!" Player yelled getting me out of my thoughts. Clearing my throat, I got ready for the conversation with my brother. I was nervous and if Jasper was here, he would know it. And yes, Carmen Sandiego can get nervous. I might seem tough, but I have emotions like every other person.
"Patch him through Player, I know him but I think he would like to keep this between him and myself." I said calmly trying to get myself to believe it. Trying to calm my mind I took a few breaths. It's just Jasper not the major right? I mean the major only comes out when Jasper gets super mad.
"Hello Carmen" the familiar voice of my brother started in my ear after a few seconds.
"Jasper what can I do for you?" I wasn't wasting time right now. I know he called for a reason, so I want to get right to it. It also could be a short time before his plan is found out by that idiot mind Reader or Jasper has a way to keep his plan a secret.
"Well, my 'family' and I recently moved again to Alaska. Edward went off on his own. But I needed your help breaking a rule he set up for us before we left our last place." He said very quickly. I understood why most of the family was close to the mind reader. My brother's 'family' was something definitely rude to Peter and Charlotte the one time we visited them in the 70's. Nina was lucky that she decided she needed space that time. Since last time Peter called me, he said Jasper was thinking about leaving the family.
"What rule? I need more details here Jasper or should I say Major." I waited for his response. He seemed different from when we started out, he's calmer. He chose one path I went on a different path after we got out of Maria's army he chose to travel and find a different food source that I already knew about. Leaving me open to change the world using my own code name that I got years later on an undercover mission. I got the codename Black sheep how fitting since if you looked at my siblings and then me you wouldn't guess we're related. They are all light skinned and some shade of blonde while I'm sporting a tan and auburn hair. Well, that could be my gift I make myself appear normal so I'm able to make friends and go out in the sun.
"Just Jasper is fine. Well at our last place we met a girl. A human girl and well we all got attached to her. I slipped up at her birthday party and last I heard Edward left her in the woods near her dads house. Edward said no contact with her I'm not okay with that but if I contact her someone will tell him. So can you please do it for me with Nina. I would use Peter and Charlotte, but the girl is still in school, and Edward knows if I would break the rule, I would use them. I could have them live just outside the town as your guardians, but they can't be involved too much." He says and I can tell this is important to him. This must be some girl to have Jasper have the whole family on this one. Now I need to talk to Nina about getting my friend she was watching to where we were going.
"Tell, me who and where and I'll get a ride there as soon as I'm done my mission here. I'll send my friends back to Sandiego. They don't need to get involved unless big trouble come up." I said knowing that Nina was already talking to my friend probably on me needing his help for something. As long as she doesn't mention our past together or my feelings for him or what I am I'm good. I stretch getting ready for a good hunt and run before Zack and Ivy get up, I know I'm going to need it.
"The girl is named Bella Swan and she lives in Forks, Washington. Where's Nina anyway she's not with Peter and Charlotte?" Jasper asked. He seriously needs to stop babying Nina she's as tough as the rest of us. Yet he always leaves her with some he trusts. She was thankful for my call sending her to Australia. To get out and explore away from the guards.
"I asked her to do something for me it's completely safe she's with a friend of mine. We'll be there in a few days make sure we're registered for school. Bye." I closed the line before he can question me more. I really don't think he would like the sound of Nina alone with a boy who attacked me once. Or the fact I sent Nina to a different continent by herself. I'm sure she's safe she's as tough as the rest of us even though she needs actual food for some reason. I got a hold of player again as I ran, he doesn't like being left out of the loop.
"Red what happened with that major guy?" player asked almost immediately. I was still running of course looking for some animal to eat. I sighed as I came to a stop behind a tree. Not sure how to explain my conversation with my brother.
"Well, he wants me and Nina to do some recon on a girl for him in Forks, Washington. He even has Peter and Charlotte involved but Nina and I are old enough to interact with her. Can you get us rides for tomorrow and send Zach and Ivy back to Sandiego? I don't want them involved with this it seems like a family matter. But tell Nina to bring Gray he might be able to help." I said that last part without thinking. I just really want to see him again. Player knew it two. I haven't been taking things well since I somehow got hurt and added to my many scars that I hope no one will ever see.
"Sure, should he be registered for school two?" Player asked me. I didn't think about that. I've been on to V.I.L.E. being a secret second branch of the Volturi to get more money for so long I actually need a break. I need my family. "That would be great player talk later." I said and hung up going back to my hunt.
I got back to the hotel before Zack and Ivy got up when Shadowsan walked in. Ready to go as always. So, I woke Zack and Ivy from their sleep well tried to. I wonder how they will react to their break. One way to find out tell them once this is over.
Once the twins got up, we did our mission. Now I tell them. "Hey guys you're going back to Sandiego while I deal with something in Washington state okay, I don't know how long I will be." Well, I ripped the Band-Aid off, and Ivy wanted to come. Zach was glad for the break and Shadowsan just nodded his head. We got to the airport, and I hugged my friends goodbye I don't have the luxury of a direct flight to where I was going then there was a car ride with Peter. I just hope that I don't have to get Zack and Ivy involved with my family. Shadowsan can understand that he'll probably do missions to get away from them though. We said our goodbyes and went to our planes.
The nerves came back on the plane. This was the first time in years my family will be together. I well almost with Jasper in Alaska and I don't know if he'll be back anytime soon. I guess only time will tell.
