Dearest Diary,
Today me and Klonoa took a long walk together out of town. I needed to take him somewhere important, somewhere where he could learn about who he was. Dreamwalker Ruins. It is an ancient temple that has been around for centuries, some even say it's been around since the dawn of time itself. Although it has been long abandoned and is now primarily a place for tourists, it is still full of sacred knowledge. And the reason I wanted to bring Klonoa here is because Dreamwalker Ruins was the birthplace of the first Dream Traveller. Dream Travellers are powerful entities that have the ability to travel to many different worlds through the power of dreams. They are usually summoned by the citizens of the other worlds to assist them in stopping powerful and dangerous threats. Dream Travellers are typically accompanied by a powerful relic, which may vary depending on where it comes from. In our world it is a 'Wind Ring'. It originally belonged to Novan, who then passed it down to Lorna once he felt his abilities leaving him with age, not long before he passed away. And now the Wind Ring is in the possession of her son and my Grandson.
Klonoa is the next in a long line of Dream Travellers. I knew this was to happen sooner or later. But what surprised me was that Klonoa developed his gift before he even turned 10. Lorna's Dream Travelling abilities didn't awaken until she was around 13, and I remember Novan saying he was also in his teenage years when he became a Dream Traveller. Klonoa's abilities were pre-maturely awoken, most likely by some sort of outside force, perhaps a call from another world that was intended for Lorna.
Although Klonoa was still a little bit shaken up from the events that took place a few days back, he was fascinated by the history of Dream Travellers. Although the dream he had clearly disturbed him, he made it clear that he still really enjoyed the adventure and that he enjoys helping others. Bless my dear boy, he's so pure of heart. Like his mother, he has always been so selfless, putting others' needs before his own. He would make for an extraordinary Dream Traveller in the future.
I only wish that fate wasn't such a cruel mistress, I knew this day was coming sooner or later, but that doesn't make it any less daunting. Reality can be harsh at times, but I know my grandson will pull through. He's such a brave and strong young boy. And although I may not be as good a teacher as my daughter would have been, I will do my best to support my grandson for as long as I can.
Novan, Lorna, I hope you are both watching over us. I know you two would be so proud of our dear Klonoa if you were still here with us. I miss you so much.
Tomorrow is another day,
Elise
