Chapter 1

"Everyone fucking hates you." She knew that. However, she didn't know that Cassian did. She knew the others wanted nothing to do with her. She felt the same about them. But for Cassian to say it?

The words repeated in her mind all night. She didn't get much sleep. And when she went to the training ring, no one was there. Not a single soul. Cassian really did give up. She never thought she would see the day.

She went down to the library instead. Found her cart that was already stacked with books and got to work.

"Everyone fucking hates you." She hadn't heard anything in the library. Hadn't seen anyone either. Nesta worked slowly and quietly. She wasn't even sure how long she was there but her stomach growled. She went to find Clotho, who was usually sitting at the desk, to tell her that she was going to head out for lunch. Even Clotho was missing.

It started to panic her a little. Of course they were around here somewhere, they wouldn't just leave the library unattended but it just stuck in her mind even more, "everyone fucking hates you."

She quickly headed back to the House. Hoping that a hot meal would be waiting for her when she arrived. She even wished for it, but nothing happened. She was a shit cook, and tried to settle for cereal, but it was stale and the milk was moldy. When she tried to turn the stove on to heat up some soup, nothing happened.

Now she was worried. Even the House hated her. The hair on the back of her neck stood up. Something was happening. Cassian and Azriel were nowhere to be found. Even the house seemed cold. There was nothing and no one here. She went to look out the window and immediately regretted it. Storm clouds filled the sky. She knew exactly what was coming and there was no hiding.

The front door whipped open and smashed into the wall, ripping right off the hinges. Rhysand stood there, a scowl on his face. Smoke was nearly coming out of his ears. Nesta's eyes widened as Rhys huffed. He stepped toward her, making her take a step back.

"What-"

"Shut the fuck up!" He howled. She prayed that Feyre was with him. She tried to peek around his wings but knew that in this rage, he would never put her sister in harm's way. Nesta's breathing picked up as Rhys stalked closer to her. She was backed up against the wall as he grabbed her arm and dragged her towards the door. She closed her eyes as he dragged her from the house and then winnowed.

When they finally got to where he took her, he dropped her onto the hard ground. She just barely caught herself with her hands as he shoved her. She rolled around and sat down looking up at him. He was still fuming. Mountains were surrounding them. This was it. He was going to kill her out here. Let her rot for who knows what to eat her. Or beat her close to death and let the wild beasts finish her off so she could suffer even in death. He'll just tell her sisters that she took off so he won't feel guilty about murdering her.

"I'm done letting you hurt the people I care about." He started. She stayed quiet as he spoke knowing that if she said anything he would make her suffer even more. She watched him so that she could know when the first strike would come. She would be prepared for the pain. "You can stay here to rot." She tried to quickly get to her feet. There was no way he was going to leave her out here in the middle of nowhere.

"What-" She couldn't get any other words out before he was gone. She stared after where he was standing. The sun was starting to set. It was already cold. She was going to freeze to death before anything got to her. That's why everyone was gone. They were staying out of his way.

She had no idea where she was. She had no idea how to get back to civilization. She was positive that she would be either turned away or murdered as soon as she got there. She had no food. No light source. Nothing to keep warm. No weapons. All she had was her powers that she wasn't even sure she really knew how to use.

First, she should probably find somewhere safe to camp for the night. She had no idea which way to walk but decided to walk the way Rhys was facing when he winnowed. She tried her hardest to get over the rocks and the tree roots. Her breathing was labored and her heart was beating so fast. She was trying really hard to keep the tears in her eyes from leaking over. She didn't want to show weakness.

She was so scared. The sun was setting quickly. This wasn't supposed to happen. She didn't think he would actually get so mad that he would banish her. Feyre wouldn't let him do that right? Right?

"Taken care of." Rhys commented to Cassian as he came into the town house. Cassian had told him about the conversation that had happened yesterday. He didn't expect anything to happen.

"You talked to her?" Cass asked.

"Yes." Rhys wasn't going to tell him what he really did with her. "She won't be a problem anymore." He shrugged. "Relocated her." Cassian was confused by that.

"Where did you relocate her to?"

"Somewhere she deserved and somewhere where she'll be out of our hair." Nesta would beg to differ and if she ever found her way back, he was in for a rude awakening.

"What does that mean?"

"Don't worry about it." He of course was going to worry about it. He regretted telling her that everyone hated her. Even though it was true, he knew that something bad was going to come of it. And it wasn't going to help her get into the training ring. He was going about this all wrong. He should have just let her say her peace and move on. Should have tried to not react to anything she said. He just couldn't help himself.

By the time the sun had set, Nesta was freezing and panicking. She didn't find anywhere that would be safe to camp for the night. She tried to climb a tree to get a better look to see if she could see anything but when she was about 7 feet off the ground the branch broke and she fell landing on her back. Her cries filled the air before she rolled to her stomach to try to catch her breath. Rhys should have just killed her. At this rate she was never making it back.

She rested against a rock and a tree. But if anything or anyone walked by they could easily spot her. She had no idea what was out here. Had no idea what she was going to do. How she would survive in the cold and with no food.

She sat with her knees against her chest and wrapped her arms around her legs trying to stay warm. Her body was shaking from both being cold and the pain radiating through her back. She had never been so confused. She finally let the tears consume her.

How she fell asleep she doesn't know. She woke the second the sun peeked over the mountain. She gave herself a few more minutes before standing. She grabbed the branch that didn't hold her weight and broke it into sharp pieces. It was the only thing that she would be able to protect herself with if something came after her.

Still, she continued walking. She was starving, her feet were hurting, her back had never felt pain like this before. She was never making it back.

She couldn't help but think that her sister was living her life. Continuing on like she wasn't living in Hell. She wondered what Rhysand would have told her sisters. If Nesta just skipped town or if Rhysand banished her to the human lands like Mor wanted.

She had to take more breaks today. The sun was beating down on her, making her sweat. She couldn't hear any water sources. Her body was weak and in so much pain. After climbing halfway up a mountain, or at least she thought it was halfway, she sat down to rest. She had no idea how long she was walking. She was probably walking in the wrong direction.

She waited until her breathing was even before she got up to continue her trek. She would never trust another soul.
