At the Queen mansion, Oliver walked out to the backyard where Thea was sitting on one of the lounge chairs looking at the hozen Oliver gave her. "Hey Speedy" Oliver said and Thea looked up at him. He was standing in the doorway. "One of the workers left the keg too far from the bar. Can you ask them to move it please" Oliver asked his siter. She looked over toward the workers. "I've got the ankle thingy" Oliver said lifting his leg showing the ankle monitor. "I don't want to set off a SWAT invasion" Oliver said. Thea just looked at her brother sadly. Oliver looked back at her concerned. "Hey" he said walking over to the other lounge chair and sitting down on it. "All this stuff, it's going to be fine. I promise" Oliver said.
Thea looked at the hozen again. "Yea well when you and dad left on the Yacht you promised me I'd see you in a few days which didn't happen" she said.
Oliver sighed. "This is different than that. I didn't do any of this stuff you know that. Right" Oliver said.
"You're out all the time. You have those scars and since you've been back you've been acting really weird" Thea said.
"None of this makes me some Robin Hood wannabe" Oliver said looking at Thea expectantly.
"You gave me this" Thea said holding up the hozen. "I mean an arrowhead" she said.
"Oh man" Oliver said sighing again. "Thea I bought that in the gift shop of the Beijing airport" Oliver said. Thea looked at it not knowing what to say. Oliver sat there struggling to find the right words. He wasn't good at this. "Now I'm sort of happy I didn't buy you that shot glass with the panda on it because then you'd be worried I was panda man" Oliver said.
Thea laughed a little. "You know I knew you couldn't be this person" she said. Oliver nodded toward his sister. "I just, I can't lose you again" Thea said.
"Deal" Oliver said. He hugged his sister. He had no intention of leaving her, his mother or Felicity ever again. He had to do this though to take the suspicion off himself.
About an hour later Oliver was getting ready to head to the police station to take the polygraph. Felicity was going to be taking him along with Laurel and Sara. Diggle knocked on the door to his bedroom. "Come in" Oliver called out.
Diggle walked in and shut the door behind him. "You know it's hard to shadow Mueller if you call me away for something else" he said.
"This is just as important" Oliver said getting up from his desk and grabbing a file off it. He held it out to Diggle.
"What is this" Diggle asked as he took the file and looked inside it.
"Lance Abraham. He worked for the Merlyn's before they betrayed him and had him sent to iron heights. He might know what they're involved in. I need you to go talk to him" Oliver said.
Diggle looked up from the file. "What about Mueller" he asked.
"Take one of the handheld's with you from the warehouse. You'll still be able to shadow Mueller with that" Oliver answered.
Just then there was another knock on the door. "Come in" Oliver called.
Felicity walked in and stopped when she saw Diggle standing there. "John what are you doing here" she asked.
Diggle looked at Oliver. Oliver gave him a look that told him he hadn't told her yet. He looked over at Felicity and smiled at her. "Me and Mr. Queen just had some business to take care of. I'm leaving now" he said turning to Oliver. "Good luck on your polygraph test Mr. Queen" Diggle said holding out his hand.
"Thank you" Oliver said shaking it.
Diggle walked over to Felicity and hugged her. "Bye" he said.
"Bye" she said as he left the room. Felicity walked over to Oliver and he smiled at her.
"Hi" he said pulling her close to him and kissing her.
"How are you feeling? Nervous" she asked when he pulled back.
Oliver shook his head. "No because I know I'm innocent and this will prove it to your father" he said.
"Laurel and Sara are waiting for us downstairs" Felicity said. Oliver nodded and they left the room hand in hand.
At the police station, Oliver, Laurel and Quentin were in the interrogation room with the polygraph test operator. Oliver had been setup to the polygraph test. "Is your name Oliver Queen" Quentin asked.
"You don't know who I am detective" Oliver asked.
Quentin walked over to his seat and sat down. "The questions are to calibrate the polygraph. Is your name Oliver Queen" Quentin asked again.
"Yes" Oliver answered.
"Were you born in Starling city May 16th 1985" Quentin asked.
"Yes" Oliver answered again. Laurel watched her father carefully.
"Is your hair blue" Quentin asked.
"No" Oliver answered.
"Ever been to iron heights prison" Quentin asked.
"No" Oliver said. Laurel looked at Oliver curiously.
Quentin held up a picture of the hooded vigilante. "Are you the man in this picture" Quentin asked.
A memory hit Oliver. He was back on Lian Yu tied to a pole in Edward Fryers tent. "Where can I find the man in this picture" Edward asked holding up a photo of the man Oliver was trying to protect.
Back in the interrogation room, Oliver looked at Quentin. "No" he said.
Quentin put down the picture and looked over to the polygraph operator. The man looked back at Quentin and nodded his head. Quentin thought about what to ask Oliver next. "You steal $40 million dollars off Adam Hunt" Quentin asked.
"No I didn't" Oliver answered.
"Were you marooned on an island called Lian Yu for five years" Quentin asked.
"Yes" Oliver answered.
"How is that even relevant" Laurel asked looking over at her father.
"I don't need to show relevance but since you asked whatever happened to your client turned him into a cold blooded killer" Quentin said looking over to Oliver.
Another memory hit Oliver. Back on Lian Yu, Edward motioned toward the man in the mask. The man in the mask opened Oliver's shirt and put his sword to Oliver's stomach. He stabbed him and Oliver screamed out in pain.
Back in the police station, Oliver sighed and looked away from Quentin while Laurel just stared at her father.
"The Physician that examined you reported that 20% of your body is covered in scar tissue" Quentin said.
Oliver had another flash. He was back on the island screaming while he was being tortured by the man in the mask again. The man in the mask stabbed Oliver with his sword higher this time. Oliver screamed out in pain as the man slowly moved the sword across Oliver's chest.
Oliver was back in the interrogation room. Laurel looked at Oliver concerned. "The machine won't work unless you ask a question" she said.
"Did that happen to you there" Quentin asked Oliver.
Oliver looked up at Quentin. "Yes" he answered.
"When you came back you told everyone that you were alone on that island. Are you claiming that you're scars were self-inflicted" Quentin asked.
"No" Oliver answered. Laurel looked at him shocked. "I wasn't alone" he said. Quentin slowly nodded his head. "I didn't want to talk about what happened to me on the island" Oliver said.
"Why not" Quentin asked.
"The people that were there tortured me" Oliver said. Laurel just continue to stare at Oliver shocked. "
Have you killed anyone" Quentin asked Oliver. Oliver looked away ashamed trying to hold back the tears.
"Yes" Oliver answered. Laurel couldn't believe what she just heard. Who did he kill? Quentin looked at his daughter's expression. "When I stepped foot on m father's Yacht and left Felicity pregnant and alone" Oliver said feeling the tears coming. He looked away regaining his composure. He looked Quentin in the eyes. "Felicity was forced to grieve for me and she stopped taking care of herself. She was alone and had to deal with being pregnant and losing all because I got on that stupid Yacht. If I didn't step foot on that Yacht our daughter would be alive today. I killed my daughter and that is something I have to live with for the rest of my life" Oliver said. Laurel looked at Oliver sadly. Quentin just stared at Oliver. Laurel just sat there stunned.
Oliver started ripping the wires off while Quentin continued to just stare at him. Oliver finished ripping the wires off and got up. He had to get out of here before he broke down in front of Quentin. He quickly left the room shutting the door behind him. He had to find Felicity. "I have to study the data but just eyeballing it he's telling the truth" the polygraph operator said. Quentin nodded toward the polygraph operator annoyed.
Laurel stood up. "Can I assume that you'll be recommending Ms. Spencer to drop all charges against my client" Laurel asked her father.
"No. I know a guilty man when I see one. He is guilty whether you or your sister can see it or not" Quentin said. Laurel walked out of the room leaving Quentin sitting there.
Outside in the main area of the police station Felicity and Sara were waiting for Oliver and Laurel. Felicity was pacing around the room. "Don't worry. Oliver will be fine. He's innocent" Sara said. Felicity looked at her sister and gave her a sad smile. Felicity knew the truth. She knew Oliver was the vigilante. She just hoped she wouldn't be losing Oliver today. Just then Oliver walked into the room. Sara stood up from her seat. Felicity looked at him and immediately became more worried than she already was. One look at his face and it was obvious he had been crying.
Felicity walked over to him with Sara following closely behind. "What happened in there? Oliver are you OK" she asked.
Oliver quickly pulled Felicity in for a hug holding her tightly and crying into her shoulder. "I'm sorry Felicity" he said.
Felicity looked at Sara confused. "For what" she asked slowly.
"I killed her" Oliver said lowly.
"What" Felicity asked him.
"I killed her" Oliver said a little louder this time.
Felicity pulled back from him and grabbed his face so he was looking at her. "Who did you kill Oliver" Felicity asked.
Oliver couldn't look at Felicity. He couldn't look her in the eyes knowing he was the reason she lost their baby. "Our baby. It's my fault you lost the baby. I'm so sorry Felicity" he said looking away from her. Felicity stared at Oliver in shock. She couldn't believe what he was saying. Of course it wasn't his fault. It wasn't anyone's fault. It was just something that happened. If it was anyone's fault it was hers. She pulled him in for a hug and stood there while he continued to cry starting to cry herself. She had no idea what happened in that room but her heart broke seeing Oliver like this.
