Back at home in Scotland Yard, over a year has passed since my last two ventures. It was Winter and I sat alone in my house eating freshly baked biscuits and drinking warm tea, served to me by Mrs. Hudson, my housekeeper. I sat, slumped in a chair by the fire, wondering how Watson was getting along on his long overdue vacation. I was torn away by my thoughts though, for there was a rapping at the door. I stood up from the chair and made my way to the door. After opening it I was greeted by a man who called himself Talbot. He handed me an envelope that housed a letter asking me to be part of a secret organization. After telling Talbot that I would think it over I heard a familiar voice from someone standing behind him.

"Mina." I said softly, as Talbot stepped aside.

"I was contemplating whether or not to come, but I'm afraid things are quite urgent." said Mina, looking distressed "The fate of the entire world rests in this organization's hands, and you must be a part of it Mr. Holmes."

"And what is this organization, if you don't mind me asking?"

"It's simply known as… The League."

Next story, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
