Cora couldn't stop thinking about the experience that she, Alain and Mairin went through.

"I find it amazing that we ended up with some new Pokémon in one day." Cora smiled.

"Good thing that none of the Pokémon were terribly abused. I'm just glad that Darcy is getting what she deserves." Mairin stated.

Kilala, Perun and Chespie nodded.

"I agree. Trainers like Darcy shouldn't even exist." Alain commented.

Cora was not only happy with the new Pokémon she got but was also thrilled to have two out of the three Kanto starters; Bulbasaur. Even though her shiny Charmander is now a Charizard.

"Espe! (Wait!)" Kilala called out.

Everyone stopped in their tracks.

"What is it, Kilala?" Cora asked.

Kilala pointed at something on the ground. Cora narrowed her eyes at the road and picked up a nearby rock and tossed it in front of them when it hit the ground a pitfall was discovered as the rock landed in the same spot that would have been them if they had kept walking.

"What just happened?" Mairin asked, shocked.

"It was a trap." Alain replied.

"Luckily Kilala spotted it before we all could have fallen in." Cora commented.

"Squirtle! (It failed!)"

Before Cora stood five Squirtle's wearing sunglasses except the one in the front whose glasses were different from the rest. Cora easily figured out that Squirtle must be the leader.

"Those are Squirtle." Cora said and scanned the Pokémon.

[Squirtle, the Tiny Turtle Pokémon. It shelters itself in its shell, then strikes back with sprouts of water at every opportunity.]

"Are you the ones responsible for this?" Mairin yelled, "You shouldn't do that! Somebody could've gotten hurt!"

"Squirtle Squirt Squirtle! (Zip it, brat!)" the middle one with the pointy glasses said.

Cora sweat-dropped, "Um...okay."

Mairin fumed, "What did it say, Cora?" she growled.

"You sure you want me to tell you?" Cora asked.

"Squirtle Squirt! (You human!)" the leader called out.

"Huh?" Cora turned back to the Squirtle's.

"Squirtle Squirt Squirt Squirtle? (Can you understand us?)" the leader demanded to know.

She smiled at the water type, "You said and I quote 'Zip it, brat' unquote."

"What was that, you little turtle?!" Mairin growled with flames in her eyes.

'Note to self; never call Mairin a 'brat'.' Cora thought, sweat-dropped.

Before the leader could say anything else a siren was heard making them take off knowing what that siren was. The gang was taken off guard when the Squirtle's suddenly bolted but it disappeared when they saw the siren belonging to none other than Officer Jenny.

"Hey, did you kids happen to see the Squirtle Squad come through here?" she asked.

"Yeah, we did see them, but they took off not too long ago." Alain replied.

"Can you tell us more about the Squirtle Squad?" Cora asked.

"Sure, why not come with me to the Pokémon center? We'll discuss it there." Officer Jenny suggested.

"Okay." Cora accepted.

"You see the Squirtle Squad are a gang of Squirtle's that were abandoned by their trainers. And the one with the pointy sunglasses is their leader." Jenny explained.

"I see, but why did they set up that pitfall from earlier? If Kilala hadn't spotted it when they did, we all would've fallen in." Alain questioned.

The lady officer sighed, "I'm afraid it's because they still harbor some ill feelings towards their previous trainers that they take it out on other trainers and some of the townspeople." She explained, "If this keeps up then the townspeople will soon be taking matters into their own hands and trust neither me or Nurse Joy want that."

Cora sighed heavily at this. She couldn't believe that first time trainers would do such a cruel thing to their starter Pokémon. First Kalmia (Chikorita) and Nemus (Bulbasaur), then Rogue (Shiny Fennekin) and now the Squirtle Squad. Just what is it with trainers abandoning their first Pokémon without a good reason?

Right now, the gang were taking a break in the town, thinking about what Officer Jenny said about the Squirtle Squad.

"You know, I feel bad for them." Cora said, "They were abandoned by their trainers for who knows what."

"Probably something stupid and unreasonable." Alain commented.

"And I've decided to catch one of the Squirtles for myself." Cora decided.

"Me too!" Mairin exclaimed, raising a hand in the air, "I want another Water-type, Mary (Azumarill) would like another type like her."

"And what are we going to do about the other two Squirtles?" Alain asked.

"We could give them to Officer Jenny, she is worried about them." Cora suggested.

"Um, excuse me." A voice interrupted them from behind.

The gang turned around, seeing a teen a lot older than them with short black hair and gray eyes, wearing a dark gray shirt with black shorts and carrying a backpack.

"Sorry, my name's Michael and I couldn't help but hear that you're going to plan and catch the Squirtle Squad." Michael questioned.

"Yes, we are. Do you want to catch them too?" Cora asked, petting Kilala and Perun's head, which the two cooed at their trainer's touch.

Michael nodded, "Yes, the truth is. I know some of the Squirtle Squad, I actually saw two Pokémon Trainers deserted the Squirtle, they kept saying that Squirtle are no good, compared to their evolved forms." He explained.

Cora twitched, "That's not true. Squirtle can be just as strong as a Wartortle and a Blastoise, depending on how the trainers trained them." She said.

"I know, but those trainers didn't think so." Michael frowned, "So, they tossed them away like trash."

"That's horrible, no wonder the Squirtles play pranks on humans." Alain said.

"I wanted to catch them since their trainers left. But after what their trainers did, they didn't trust me and ran off." Michael explained, "I still wish to capture those two Squirtle and raise them well, so do you mind if I come with you?"

"Of course not. You're doing your best and trying to help those Squirtles." Cora beamed at him.

"That's true." Alain said.

Mairin got up and off her chair, "So off on a search mission! Operation; Capturing the Squirtle Squad!" She declared.

"Let's head to the forest then." Alain suggested.

"Okay." Everyone nodded and went off to the forest, to find the Squirtles.

As they searched through the forest, they found the Squirtle Squad having a swim in a pond.

"Oh, they're all there." Mairin said.

Michael was about to step forward, when a net was suddenly thrown over the Squirtles. But it wasn't a normal net, when the net caught the Squirtle Squad, it zapped them.

"SQUIRTLE!" All of the tiny turtle Pokémon cried out.

"HAA HAA HAHAHA!" Three familiar voices laughed at their capture.

"Pika/Espe." Perun/Kilala sighed.

Alain frowned, "Just great. It's Team Rocket again." He whispered.

"Just what we need." Mairin groaned.

"Who's that?" Michael asked, shocked and surprised what he witnessed.

"Nasty crooks, who steal Pokémon." Alain explained.

"But they never succeeded in stealing any Pokémon, when we're around, you see. It's amazing." Cora chimed in, happily.

Mairin and Chespie anime fell, with a 'THUD!'

Alain just let out a small smirk.

"Hey, pretty nice work." Meowth complimented.

"These nets did the job well." Jessie said.

"The best thing is these nets are electrical and electric beats water! Since we caught the Squirtle Squad with this net we should use this to capture Water-type Pokémon more often." James explained, with a proud smirk.

"You're right." Meowth and Jessie agreed.

Michael heard enough and ran out from behind the trees, "No, you won't!" He shouted, "If you think I'm letting you get away with this, forget it!"

"Haa, you and what army?" Jessie smirked.

"How about this army?" Cora questioned, with a small smirk.

"Hiya!" Mairin waved.

"You again!" Meowth shouted, in annoyance.

"Let the Squirtles go!" Cora exclaimed.

"Sorry! Not happening twerpette! Go, Ekans!" Jessie called out her poisonous snake Pokémon.

"You said it. Go, Koffing!" James called out his poison gas Pokémon.

Cora, Alain and Mairin were about to fight back.

"Wait!" Michael stopped them, "Leave this to me!"

The trio nodded, "Okay."

"Go, Psyduck and Sandshrew!" Michael called out his Pokémon into battle.

"Psy Psyduck." A yellow platypus, duck-like Pokémon appeared.

"Sandshrew!" The ground mouse Pokémon appeared.

Cora scanned the yellow platypus, duck-like Pokémon.

[Psyduck, the Duck Pokémon. The pre-evolved form of Golduck. When Psyduck's headache gets severe, it starts to exhibit odd powers.]

"Ekans, use Poison Sting!" Jessie commanded.

"Use Sludge, Koffing!" James ordered.

Ekans fired needles from its mouth and Koffing fired a mud-like blob from its mouth.

"Psyduck, use Water Gun and Sandshrew, use Swift!" Michael countered.

Psyduck and Sandshrew launched their attacks at Koffing and Ekans's attacks which clashed against each, causing a small explosion.

"Psyduck, use Psychic and freeze them!" Michael ordered.

"Kilala, use Swift on the net!" Cora called out.

"Sandshrew, use Swift as well!" Michael ordered.

Kilala and Sandshrew launched their attack at the net which freed the Squirtles who were happy to be free.

"Perun, Kilala, Thunder Shock!" Cora called out.

Kilala and Perun launched their electrical attack towards Team Rocket's Pokemon who cried in pain from the attack and were sent flying into the balloon which exploded and sent Team Rocket further into the sky.

"So much for that capture." James complained.

"Outdid by a bunch of trainers." Jessie growled.

"Maybe we should go after that twerp with the Eevee who knows Thunder Shock. That might be easier." Meowth suggested.

"Good idea! If we can get that Eevee, then we might be able to get that Pikachu and Espeon!" James agreed happily.

Jessie sighed, "Fine, we'll try that idea first." She reluctantly agreed.

"TEAM ROCKET'S BLASTING OFF AGAIN!" The trio screamed before they disappeared across the sky.

DING!

The two Squirtles that had their eyes on Michael immediately walked up to him, "Squirtle Squirt! (Thank you!)" They thanked him.

Michael saw them and bent down onto his knees, "I take it, you two remember me huh?" He asked.

"Squirtle." The two Squirtles nodded.

"Listen Squirtles, I know that what your trainers did was absolutely wrong, but I will never betray you or leave you." Michael said, "Come with me and let's become strong together and forever." He held out his arms to them.

The two Squirtles hesitated for a moment, they took off their sunglasses, revealing bit teary red-eyes and jumped into their new trainer arms happily.

"I've finally caught you!" Michael laughed.

The gang smiled at that scene. They were glad that the two Squirtles are now able to have a trainer who will love and care for them.

Cora looked at the leader of the Squirtle Squad, "Would you like to come with me and become strong?" She asked.

After seeing his friends with another human, the leader decided it was time for the Squirtle Squad to disband and be with humans again.

"Squirtle." Squirtle nodded, taking off his glasses.

"Hey, do you want to come with me?" Alain and Mairin asked, simultaneously towards the two reminding Squirtles.

"Squirtle!" The two Squirtle nodded.

So all was okay, in the end, it worked out. Michael, Cora, Mairin and Alain captured the Squirtle Squad.

And so, after capturing the Squirtle Squad, helping Michael and helping the Squirtles from Team Rocket. Bidding farewell to Michael and Officer Jenny, now our heroes head off in the direction of Vermillion City as the journey continues.
