Sam was ready to end her relationship with Pete, as much as she liked him, she couldn't marry him. She thought about it, a lot! And decided she couldn't just settle with a man she could live with, she was going to wait for the men she couldn't live without.

She heard someone knocking on the door, she opened it and saw Pete.

"Come on in"

Pete leaned down to kiss her, but she turned her face from him, so he just kissed he cheek instead.

"You called me and said you had something important to tell me?"

"Yeah ... You want some coffee?"

"No Sam. I want you to just talk to me. What's wrong?"

"Ok then, let's sit down"

They both sat down, this was it! She was gonna break up with another great guy, because of someone she knew she couldn't have.

Here goes nothing she thought.

"Pete... You are a great guy. Really! And I like you a lot."

"But?"

"But in my point of view, liking isn't enough, I don't see this relationship going any further than it already has... I'm sorry"

"So am I Sam, unlike you I saw this... Us... going a lot further. But i guess this has to go both ways, yours and mines. I don't mean that I will wait for you but, if you ever change your mind... Let me know."

That was it, that was all he said to her. He grabbed his coat and just left. Sam was feeling so bad , yet so relieved that she had finally found the strength within her to breakup with Pete. Even though she didn't wanna hurt him.

The next day at the SGC, Sam got in the elevator, and there he was, looking Oh so hot like always.

"Morning Carter"

"Good morning Sir"

There it was, that awkward silence again.

"Sooo Carter, have you had any breakfast yet?"

"No sir, I didn't have the time"

"Well I'm gonna go eat some cake, if you feel like it you're welcome to join me"

"I think i will sir"

The elevator's door opened and as they came out and down the hallway, Teal'c joined them. So jack turned to talk to him.

"Morning T"

"Good morning O'Neill, and major Carter"

"Good morning Teal'c, did you see Daniel anywhere?"

"NO, I did not"

"i'd like to know the translations of those writings in that artifact we found"

"Carter,you should really stop thinking about your rocks...Is there anytheing else you think about?"

"Of course there is sir"

"Oh! really! tell me, i'd like to know "

"well i think about... Stuff"

"C'mon Carter! For crying out loud! I wouldn't give an answer as empty as that one, and I have less than 25% of your intelligence"

"well sir , you caught me off guard!"

"Sam!You are not going to believe what the writings said! "

Daniel had just arrived on the cafeteria, he looked like he hadn't slept all night.

"So much for not talking about rocks" Jack complained.

Sam ignored that comment and turned to Daniel.

"what did it say daniel?"

"well, it's a device that shows a person's greatest fear, like a fear scanner!"

"so can we use it?"

"thats thee best part of it, anyone can use it! it's easy, all you have to do is put someone's hand on thee device while you have your hand in it, activate it by pressing the blue button, and both of theem will know each other's greatest fear..."
