Chapter 4

-Merida Island Base-

0750 hours

"Are you sure you want her reinstated as head of the TDD-1.?" Sir Malory had his hands clasped together as he looked around the room. Mardukas was there, as well as the remaining higher ups that usually appeared in hologram form. Luckily the leader of each department had survived. One of the reasons Mithril was able to rise up again so quickly was because the Research, Information, and Operations department still held strong leaders even if not all were likable or as strong as others. The 7 other holographic men looked like they were thinking. Of course this was Mardukas decision as current Captain.

Tessa was playing with the end of her hair. She was very nervous about the decision. So nervous she fell about 20 times this morning, and had to go to the infirmary for treatment on her ankle which she sprained. Currently she wasn't wearing her slippers.

"Sure why not…" Admiral Borda chief of operations was first to speak. He was the good-hearted uncle character, and was a friend of Tessa anyway. Everyone else quickly agreed. Even head of Research, Dr. Painrose. Of course the always negative General Amitt protested. Intelligence and Operations were usually arguing. Amitt probably did not want to give up the relationship.

"But she is a TRAITOR!" that last word held a large amount of venom. It was true Tessa had joined her brother despite her original protest, but it's not as if she just walked off. She was captured at first. Sadly no one really saw the event so Amitt would no doubt fight against her opinion of what happened to the bitter end. Mardukas frowned hearing this. He knew the gist of the situation. In fact he knew a little more than anyone else. But that did not make the accusation completely incorrect, if incredibly bias.

Borda spoke up again. "She did not leak information. She did not help in assaults against Mithril, and she did not help them in our assault against them. She only wants her brother to be safe." Borda knew that was not the concerns of others, in fact it may weaken his cause to prove her innocent but it was the truth. She would worry less if her brother was not her enemy, and if he was safe.

"Another reason she could be a traitor." Of course as expected General Amitt jumped at the chance. Mardukas stepped forward.

"Miss Testarossa is highly qualified for this position. She did not betray us she was captured. She will perform at a higher level than before with the worry of Leonard removed." Mardukas held his stare with Amitt, daring him to blink through the laser projection first.

"Now now calm down. She will be instated now. For at least a month she will stay on board the Tuatha de Danaan as a trial phase. Of course it won't be much of a trial considering our recent victory." Malory chuckled as he finished his last statement.

Borda smiled. If Sir Malory agreed they had it in the bag.

"Fine, but it will be a trial phase. If she does anything suspicious, or fails to complete her duties she will not be captain. She will be put to a lower position, or become a civilian if she fails. Of course as a civilian we would have her under watch, just in case." Amitt though agreeing still made sure to be a bastard doing it.

"Well we're done here." Sir Malory said just before his image disappeared, leaving nothing but the words sign off before they left as well. All the others did the same. Admiral Borda smiled at her as he left. They were on Merida Island base so he would see her soon.

Tessa smiled. Despite General Amitt's threats she had won. No one but him seemed to really blame her. Now she just wanted to get back to the TDD-1, and make sure Leonard was alright.

As she began to rise she felt a hand on her shoulder. She looked up to see Mardukas smiling at her. "Welcome back Captain." He saluted just before he left.

-Tuatha de Danaan-

-1050 hours-

"Everybody get ready!" Kurz voice shot from the speakers.

"Today we're having a welcome back Tessa party!" The whole group clapped. Of course some soldiers hadn't been there before to meet Tessa considering they had a lot of new personnel. Tessa blushed as she stood on the stage. "Forgive me, I almost forgot. We're welcoming back Kaname as well!" Of course everyone clapped though a lot of them didn't know her. Everyone was just glad to be having a happy party. Their biggest problems were over. Kaname was suddenly on stage as well. Melissa hand giving her one last push. Kaname merely bowed, and looked for as many people as she could recognize. Before we play any games some of us would like to hear their lovely voices for old time's sake." Kaname and Tessa were each handed a mike. Melissa went over to the keyboard, and Kurz pulled out a guitar. Kaname looked back to where Sousuke was standing with her. Kaname was shocked when she noticed he wasn't there. She quickly scanned the room. She couldn't find him.

"Ready?" Tessa walked up next to Kaname. She wanted to relax today. The meeting had been stressful. Kaname reluctantly nodded, and gave up her search. She put on a smile, and readied her throat. The music began playing.

"Sousuke old buddy, how's it going is Al okay?" a deep voice came over the cell phone. "Al is alright, I've completed my mission. Now I'm…" The deep voice interrupted him. "You're not gonna get all mopy on me, and say you're not gonna return or give that girl some happiness…"

Sousuke stopped a moment he forgot he had told him that. "No I've changed my mind. At least for now. Currently circumstances are favorable for my break. But before that, do you have any new information?" Sousuke voice remained flat. Suddenly he could hear Kaname's voice coming from the hangar. She was singing. He enjoyed listening to her sing. It was better than not hearing her while she wasn't with him. He blushed remembering his kiss with her last night. He was surprised at how long he could stand there doing that. He hoped it wouldn't end but half an hour was better than 10 seconds.

"Nope!" The deep voice brought Sousuke back to reality. "Are you sure?"

Sousuke didn't look like he believed him.

"Hey you asked, listen no information has come up. Besides you got plenty of time right, considering some things. Listen enjoy your break. If anyone needs one it's you." A chuckle could be heard as he finished his statement.

Suddenly a voice came over the phone from the background." Grandpa is that Sousuke? Can I say hi?" The voice quickly went from the background to directly on the phone. The mans' laughter could be heard in the back.

"Sousuke! Hi listen grandpa gave me a new video-game. It has arm-slaves in it!" The boy sounded overjoyed.

Sousuke looked at his watch he had been here 2 minutes. "That's good listen I need to go I'll talk to you later."

"You're no fun! Oh well have fun on your break, I'll call you soon. Here comes my sister." The boy had a mischievous sound in his voice.

Sousuke began to sweat. "Tell her I apologize, hello, and now I must be going." Sousuke quickly hung up. Those two children could go on forever if he gave them the chance. He sighed as he began his walk back to the hangar. Sousuke couldn't here Kaname now but instead Kurz calling out his latest game for the party.

"Sousuke!" Kaname sounded worried as she walked up to Sousuke just as he entered the hangar. She couldn't hug him, now was not a good time to hear everyone tease them. "Where were you?" Kaname's voice still held a hint of worry.

Sousuke's face was in his frown type look. "I was just on the phone. It's not a problem." Kaname wanted to kick him but instead she smiled. In a few hours they would be back in Japan. They just needed to near it.

Sousuke had explained to her the night before after they had finished that he no longer worked for Mithril but could be called if ever needed. Luckily they had multiple machines with Lambda driver so only dire emergencies would need him. He was free to spend his time in Japan. Since the man on the phone had no information he was definitely free, so he could focus his time on getting Kaname comfortable back home. Of course he still needed to get comfortable as well.

"Hey okay now we raffle." Kurz had one of those devices that spin the papers in them next to him. Everyone had put there names on a slip. The prize would be a pair of Tessa's panties he had taken while she was gone. Tessa face was beet red as she continued to attempt to take back her undergarment. Kurz had told her it was so he could make up for the time he missed being able to tease her. Melissa would have objected but she agreed with Kurz. Of course after she kicked his groin in. Many of the newer male recruits looked anxious. That worried Tessa. Kaname looked worried when she noticed there anxious faces.

"Also since Kaname is a special guest you can get a bra she wore while on her vacation. And a kiss from each." Kurz was warranting his own death wish.

Kaname's face looked like she could scare the devil. Sousuke took a step back, his face beginning to drip with sweat.

Suddenly Kurz eyes were wide. A terrible pain filled look appeared on his face. He looked down and noticed the 30 pound weight sticking out where he hoped something else was still there. His face was now blue he tried to open his mouth but he couldn't even scream. Suddenly Kaname was next to him. She had taken to two undergarments returning Tessa's, and burning hers right there, and then. Her face was still red with anger, and embarrassment. Suddenly Kurz fainted on the spot. The weight that was thrown still attached to his most treasured of places. Kaname smiled she really missed being able to hit people like that.

Suddenly Mardukas appeared above Kurz. No one noticed him walk up. His eyes were worse than Kaname's. He was of course very protective of Tessa. Kurz would be doing menial chores for a long time. Soon he'll know the size of each toilet. Many of the soldiers had grabbed they're genitals in mental pain. Sousuke was just hoping that took all of Kaname's pent up rage.

The party continued. Everyone really enjoyed themselves. Especially Tessa since she began meeting her new subordinates. Kurz had gone through ten bags of ice already. Tessa has danced with Melissa, and some old subordinates. Kurz had flirted with some of the new girls as well as Tessa, and Melissa. He made sure not to anger Kaname anymore.

Eventually it got late, and the party had begun to reach its end.

-Tuatha de Danaan- hangar.

Shore near Tokyo.

1900 hours.

Sousuke and Kaname had packed up what little they had and prepared to board the copter. After about 5 minutes they had taken off. The destination someplace not too far from Kaname's old apartment.

AN: That wasn't as long or as detailed as I expected but it got the connection done. This chapter was kind of disappointing sorry.
