Chapter 16
"Okay everyone be careful. You know the drill!" Kaname was using a megaphone to herd the 200 students onto the plane. Although she only used her immediate class to decide if they would go to Okinawa the rest of the students agreed easily. They were loading onto a large plane. Exceptionally large. Kaname had already looked around without Sousuke before they began loading the students. Though it was planned by Travis he was not actually one of the pilots aboard the plane. He stayed at his base but sent the two most reliable pilots. Luckily Sousuke did know them both so identifying, and confirming them was easy. Not a surprise considering the limited number of staff members.
Sousuke kept watch as the students boarded the plane. He was once again in charge of garbage, but that would not keep him from making sure everything was okay. Last time he relaxed on a plane, or ignored obvious signs of trouble they were hi-jacked, and many people were almost killed. In fact those very same people were loading onto another plane. He would not make the same mistake. He armed himself as best he could before coming to school. As well as packing his bag. He also had some extra equipment loaded onto the plane for him to remove when they landed. He was lucky he was able to get the plane permission to land at Southwest Air Lines, since they serviced the Okinawa islands it was the easiest way to get there. Of course that did not mean he couldn't have used one of the other six airlines in Japan. Once he knew everything was safe he would decrease security measures so everyone could relax but that did not mean he would lower his guard. He just hoped nothing happened during this trip, or that he wouldn't be called away. Kaname really wanted him to relax when they first mentioned the trip.
"Okay Sousuke let's go." Kaname called out with her megaphone. Though she didn't know where Sousuke was she knew he would hear. All the students had finally boarded the plane. Kaname went inside instead of waiting for Sousuke at the doorway. One of the staff members led her in. Though Sousuke said there would be no service he did not mention the 2 guards. They were only there for emergencies otherwise they would relax as well. They would be returning with the plane and pilots to the base. The plane was under fake information so they had to be careful. Luckily Sousuke knew them too.
Sousuke walked up the stairs bag in hand. He stopped at the top right in front of a guard and turned to look out once more. "Something wrong?" He tried to follow where Sousuke's head was pointing.
"Negative. We should be okay." Sousuke turned to follow the guard in. The stairs were pulled away, then he closed the door.
"Kaname may I use that?" Sousuke pointed towards the speaker in her hand.
"..." Kaname hesitantly handed him the megaphone before taking her seat next to Kyouko. She made sure not to look at him.
Sousuke cleared his throat before speaking.
"This trip should be safe. The plane is secure. However do not cause too much trouble for these men. I would like to be able to use their service at other times. Please refrain from causing any damage as well. If you need help feel free to ask me or one of the staff members aboard this flight. As I told you there will be no type of food service. Trash will be picked up once the plane is empty. Chidori made plans for travel from there. I will meet you at the hotel later." Sousuke continued going through the rest of the rules, and explanations. "Understood?"
"YES!" The class was getting impatient. They had to wait on the ground for Sousuke's lecture.
"That is good, I will inform the pilots." Sousuke walked into the cockpit. Almost immediately the plane began moving.
Many of the students pulled down the TV screens to watch whatever channels they could get. Others played cards, or talked. Many activities were going on at once.
Sousuke located Kaname visually before stepping into a bathroom. He pulled out his phone then quickly dialed a number. He listened for the rings. The other end was picked up on the third.
"SOUSUKE!" Erika answered her grandfather's phone.
"Why do you keep hanging up before we can talk to you huh?" Sousuke was at a loss. He wasn't expecting to be talking to the kids right off the bat.
"I am very busy most of the time. In fact I was calling to speak to you grandfather. Would you please inform him. I promise to speak to you afterwards." There was a pause on the other end. "Okay."
Sousuke always kept his promises so it didn't take much to convince the kids with one. Sousuke waited about 5 minutes before someone picked up the phone.
"Hey buddy."
"Do you have information on the reasons for the Titan being sent to Perth? Do you have the information pertaining to who ordered such a large order, why they would want it, and whether they had ordered the Arm-slaves or another form of large cargo that would let them load the Arm-slaves. What company owned that ship, and let them load it?" Sousuke had wanted answers since then. He was almost ready to just attempt to get the information himself but he was busy much of the time fixing up problems for Jindai then making sure Kaname was happy.
"Woah buddy slow down. Yeah I got the information. Riiiiiiiiight here." Sousuke heard a beep come over the line. "Ok listen the company that that ordered a large shipment was trying to enhance themselves. Their name is Falcon Industries. They were ordering large pieces of equipment. They had construction equipment as well as some small, and large high-tech equipment all coming from a single company. Now I checked the information on the Sea-Whale. It was first built last year but has been produced three more times in that time. Nine import, and export companies jointed so that they could pay for the quick, and efficient production of this ship. They each put an equal amount for it at first but some paid more than others. The ship that was damaged at Fremantle was currently in use by Geographical Imports, and Exports Inc., a company that appeared about two years ago. They have been doing good since their opening. I found articles that mention rumors, and theories about working with mobs, and organizations that could pay their price. But other than that I'm still looking. So how do you like the plane?"
Sousuke wanted to ask question but he was sure Travis told him everything. He unintentionally looked around the restroom. It was a little more spacious then most restrooms, on an air-plane. Sousuke knew despite the supposed safety of this air-craft the stall could be released as escape capsules. There were also a large number of parachutes. The plane was also equipped with materials that could be released to hold the plane up if it landed in water. Though he hadn't personally checked if it worked before the flight, since that would be complicated, the plane had been checked before, and tested many times."I am pleased with the safety measures, and emergency equipment on board this craft. It is also efficiently built, as well as comfortable. The weapons are hidden well but I hope they will not be necessary as well as using safety measures." Sousuke checked his watch. He'd been in here quite a while already.
"Hah I knew you would be. Well I got to go Sousuke the kids are tearing apart my pants. Here's Erika."
"SOUSUKE!" Sousuke pulled his ear away from the loud shriek of his name. When he was sure it was over he placed the phone to his ear again.
"Hello Erika. How is your condition today?"
"I'm great how are you?"
"My condition is efficient physically. Mentally I am deficient."
Erika didn't really under stand his two military terms but the last one sounded bad.
"Why? Does your head hurt? Do you want me to come over, and kiss it better? Or did you do something bad, and your afraid someone will find out?"
Sousuke ran his hand through his hair then checked his watch again.
"I'm not sure. Something has been…I believe the phrase is tugging at the back of my head for awhile now."
"It's mind dummy."
"Thank you for informing me of the proper form of the phrase I will remember that."
"You're weird Sousuke. Really weird."
Sousuke froze when he heard that.
'You know you're a weird guy Sousuke. Really weird. Really Really weird.' The words were similar but the one's repeating in his head were coming from a voice he had become accustomed to except in the past few days. Suddenly it hit him. But he had a promise to keep.
"I have been called that many times, yes."
"Dang, Grandpa is calling me I got to go Sousky. Bye bye. " Sousuke remembered telling the kids about how he first joined Mithril. Erika liked to use that name a lot.
Suddenly another voice spoke on the phone.
"Hi Sousuke how ya' doing." Chris had a similar accent to Travis.
"As I informed your sister I am more or less in fit condition."
"That's cool. Listen when you get back I wanna beat you at the Arm-slave game I told you about." Chris continued ranting about his skills. Sousuke listened as the boy pretty much explained the whole game.
"Understood. I must be going now."
"Fine Grandpas calling me anyway. See ya later."
Sousuke closed his phone washed his hands out of habit when entering a restroom. He decided he'd think a bit before exiting.

"Kana-chan look out the window. There are birds." Kyouko was taking pictures as they flew by.
Kaname turned with enough time to see them for about 5 seconds before they finished passing them.
"Cool." Kaname said in a bored voice. She wasn't really interested in the birds. In fact she wasn't interested in much recently. Since the day Sousuke was attacked by the students again last week; he seemed to be ignoring her. They hadn't spent much if any time together since he took her home. He had left the next morning. Kaname stayed by herself most of the time finding someway to entertain herself. At first she finished working on the plans for the trip but that was done in one day. She did anything she could to busy herself after that. It hurt too much to think about some things. She was starting to feel isolated and alone like when she was in Amalgam. During the weekend she felt the fear, and hurt of being gone and coming back to Tokyo that she had luckily been able to ignore most of the time. She even began crying for about an hour or so remembering how she felt when she believed Sousuke died. She was ashamed at how weak she was being, but like Sousuke had thought before she had not totally recovered. That pain was hard to remove even if he was back. The harsh reality that, that could happen again pounded on her soul. She was hoping the trip would be more enjoyable, and take her mind off things. She found being happy was getting hard. She was strong so she believed she could manage.
"Kana-chan is something wrong you seem distracted lately, and you didn't want to hang out during the weekend." Kyouko was worried it was in her voice, and eyes. Kaname felt bad having Kyouko worry but she didn't want to tell her why she was upset . Instead she smiled. "No nothing's wrong, I'm just trying to relax as soon as possible."
"Oh." Kyouko still sounded sad but did not push any further. Instead she looked around the area. "Hey where is Sagara-kun?" Kyouko continued to look around unable to locate their technical chaperon. She was able to find everyone, even Ms.Kagurazaka, and the other teachers.
Kaname didn't look up, instead her head fell low. Sousuke didn't even sleep at her apartment anymore. He would usually end up over there but the past few days he was distant. Kyouko not being able to see him just made her feel worse. She thought back to the morning he left.
'"Sousuke where are you going?" Kaname had just walked out of the kitchen to find Sousuke heading for the door. "I have business to attend to Kaname, also I need time to think." he didn't wait for her response before continuing towards the door. "Hey wait what business? You said you were open for all of the weekend, and all of the next two weeks. Remember we have a field trip." Kaname began walking towards him. She stopped when he turned to her. She was surprised by his cold gaze. The same look she received the other day. She began to slowly step back. "I also said I am unaware of when I may need to go. Thank you for your hospitality but I need to go. Being with you is wasting time right now." With that Sousuke turned, and walked out the door. Kaname froze in pain. All the horrible feelings of abandonment, isolation, and pain came rushing back. Every negative feeling she ever felt seemed to manifest itself in her in that moment. She wondered why he reacted like that. Why he would say something like that. She immediately began to cry. She ran into her room, and started asking her mother for help. She realized she wouldn't get any then turned to her pillows and bed. She did not like to mope but that really hurt. She doubted he realized what he said. Even worse if he did.
The next day he came by if only for a moment. He acted like nothing happened. He was acting similar to the way he used to act. He had then immediately left after retrieving a few items. He made almost no contact with her since then. She was lucky she was able to hold her own while he was there. But seeing him leave the feelings came back along with that of his death. She was doing well at keeping from engaging in strong constant eye contact so no one would see the pain. She was like that all weekend. She almost didn't get up this morning. When she saw him at school she received a hello then nothing more.'
Now she was still trying to hide her pain. She could easily deal with him going away for a bit or just taking some time to himself but going about it like that was horrible. She was doing well but she needed to get over it before someone actually noticed it. She doubted she could hide it forever.
"Kana-chan what's wrong?" and she was right she just didn't expect it to be so soon. As if the words were magic all of Kaname's closest friends huddled around her. Ren, Mizuki(despite the way she acts.), Shiori, and Maya had joined her, and Kyouko. Some boys who tried to come by were shooed away, or worse. Even Shinji was sent packing as well. They all figured something was wrong, but now Kyouko gave them the proper opportunity.
"Did Sagara-kun do something wrong?" Kyouko asked her before anyone else could speak. Kaname hated that they were right, she hated even more that every time she was upset they mentioned Sousuke. So she decided to let them know.
"Why…Why is it you guys always ask me if Sousuke is the problem first thing when you see me upset?" Kaname didn't look up. Her voice was low, and filled with emotions. Anger, sadness, fear, everything that had built itself up over the past few days.
"Well we just assumed, you know because you spend so much time together." Shiori spoke this time. Kaname began clenching the arms of her seat.
"You assumed what…?" Kaname still kept her head low. Even though she didn't want to get angry at her friends she couldn't help it. Sousuke made her upset, even scared her. She was angry at him during normal times; recently he scared her a lot.
"You always seem so happy with Sagara-san Kaname, so we thought that if you weren't happy he had to have done something wrong, since your mood at times is based around his actions. My mood is affected by Atsunobu-kun at times. So I know how you feel. Though he never upsets me like this." Ren was trying to comfort Kaname with her experience, and using her logic to explain her question.
"Ren you and Atsunobu are together, Sousuke, and I are…"
"STOP!" All the girls shouted at once, even Ren. Kaname finally raised her head in surprise at her friends. Kyouko decided to be spokesperson for the girls. "Listen Kana-chan, we love you we know some things wrong. We assume it's Sousuke because you are usually upset because of him. He seems to be the only thing or person that can affect you that much. We want to know what's wrong. Even if you aren't with Sousuke you are affected by him. I mean he saved you so you have to have some bond. In fact we believe you've had one for a long time. We don't say anything but we do care. If Sousuke did something wrong you should tell him. He is acting a little strange lately as well. So please Kana-chan let us help."
Kaname lowered her head. "What do you know about love?" Suddenly Kaname's face stung. Her head was lifted and she'd been slapped by Mizuki.
"I used to hate you, you know. Now I am your friend. You can't keep doing this to yourself. You live alone so you try to be independent. You have to let us know what's wrong. Believe it or not it hurts us to see you like this. You tried to help me when we playing basketball against each other. Now we're all trying to help you. What we know about love is as good friends, almost sisters. I have been hurt by guys too, Ren is doing fine with Atsunobu, and Sousuke is really great for a maniac. As I said we can relate in some ways. We're best friends Kaname, and if you can't even tell us what's wrong maybe you don't care about us as much, or trust us."
Mizuki leaned easier on the back of the chair.
Kaname was surprised. Her friends never ceased to amaze her. She started to tear again. Her negative emotions, mixing with her newly added positive emotions.
"Thank you guys." Kaname lowered her head in shame. Next thing she knew she was being huddled and hugged by all her friends. She realized just how much she had missed them while at Amalgam. She can't believe she even thought them stupid. If anything she was the stupid one.
"So you going to tell us about it now…" Maya was drinking a soda as she asked. Kaname nodded. "Fine but this stays a secret." Kaname went on to explain how it was when she first saw Sousuke again, how they had spent time together. She explained most non-intimate things, and some of the other times when Sousuke scared her or hurt her feelings. The girls were giggling, and squeaking every time they heard something that sounded nice, or juicy, they were angry when they heard he did something wrong. Kaname stayed private about their more intimate actions, or even that he basically slept at her apartment most of the time, he almost lived there. She thought a bit about the girl she heard about Nami living with Sousuke before continuing her task. Everything went down hill once she explained Sousuke's recent actions, and how she felt. Kaname still wished she could talk to her mother but her friends were doing a good job at consoling her.
"That's horrible how could he do that?" Mizuki crushed the can in her hand. "Poor Kana-chan." Kyouko took Kaname's hand. "Oh my, that is a problem." Ren gave Kaname some tissues for her new rush of tears. "Jeez, how low." Maya finished off her drink. "Sousuke did that?" Shiori was in shock at hearing some of the recent events.
"I'm sure he had a good reason." Shinji popped up behind them, he had been eves dropping on them.
"There is no good reason to do something like that!" After scolding Shinji the girls looked around to see if anyone else eve dropped. Luckily most everyone was entertaining themselves one way or another. "Hey you know I still don't see Sousuke." Kyouko said after her search. Shinji was frozen in fear from the glares he just received.
"This is perfect we can find him corner him, and get some answers." Maya began to stand up when Kaname grabbed her wrist. "No let him do things at his own pace, he's been through a lot." Kaname thought back to things she heard, and the scars she'd seen. She hadn't really seen him without his shirt off since they returned, and the time at the park was too dark. "You've been through a lot too!" Maya pulled her wrist then sat next to Kaname.
"Listen thanks girls you really helped. I can deal with things now. If I need anything I'll tell you. I'm sure you girls will tell me if I'm upset before I even realize it anyway. Just let Sousuke be." Kaname smiled at her friends.
"Speak of the devil." Shiori noticed Sousuke come out of the bathroom. "He can't have been in the bathroom the whole time. I mean the only reason would be he has a stomach problem." "No." Kaname added. "He was probably busy."
"With Mithril." Ren was able to recall the name. "No he doesn't work for them. Anymore." Kaname tried to glance at Sousuke but was afraid he would see her.
"He has to know what he did, that was absolutely horrible." Shiori, and Maya seemed to be the angriest.
"Girls you promised." Kaname looked at all the faces resign in defeat. "Fine but we'll give him two days, he had all weekend."
"Ok." Kaname agreed before pulling out a deck of cards. "Who wants to gamble?"

-Tuatha de Danaan-
"This is amazing…" Mac was astounded by how well made the Tuatha de Danaan was built. Tessa had taken him pretty much everywhere.
"Thank you…" Tessa turned to look at him then bumped into a pipe. She closed her eyes as she went flying down but didn't feel the crash with cold steel as she usually did. Instead she was being lifted back up. She opened her eyes to find Mac's face. "Th-thank you."
She turned away from him so he couldn't see her flushed face.
"It's okay. Don't worry about it." Mac turned to look down the hall way. "Shall we continue." But before they could go anywhere Kurz, and Melissa appeared. Lilliane was with them. "Hey Tessa-chan how you doing." Melissa smacked Kurz into the wall. "You shouldn't call her that around other personnel. We don't need word spreading to higher up who would cause problems."
"No it's okay I won't say anything." Mac turned a reassuring look towards Tessa.
"Oh, ok well I'm Second Lieutenant Melissa Mao. This is Sergeant Major Kurz Weber, and this is Sergeant Lilliane Mayfield." Kurz gave a single wave. "Yo."
Lilliane lightly bowed. "Hello."
"Well I was just showing Commander William." Tessa was interrupted.
"Ahem, Mac please." Mac corrected her. "I am William Alexander McNeil. Call me Mac."
He held out his hand to shake Melissa's. She gripped his hand then shook it.
"Good to meet you."
"Hey how about we help show you around." Melissa stepped on Kurz foot. "No actually we're busy." Melissa grabbed Kurz ear then began dragging him down the hall.
"Good bye." Lilliane bowed once more before following after them.
"What are you thinking. Don't interrupt them." Melissa was hissing into Kurz stretched ear. "Ow what did I do?"
Lilliane walked up then knocked Kurz head. "Not you too."
"Can't you see she's enjoying herself I think she likes him." Kurz pulled his ear away then jumped up. "Wait you mean she's not on Sousuke anymore. She's got a new guy."
A grin spread on Kurz face. "I knew it. Maybe I should tell now."
"Tell what?" Melissa caught his statement. Kurz suddenly dashed away. Melissa hot on his trail.
"They're nice." Mac and Tessa continued walking down the halls. They were almost done with their tour. It had taken two days since they ran into some trouble they stopped early yesterday.
"Yes. Though Kurz likes to joke, a lot, I see Lilliane has assimilated with them easily enough." Tessa giggled as they continued walking. "Oh yes thank you."
Mac looked down at her raising an eyebrow. "For what?"
"For not telling."
"Oh it's okay you don't have to worry about it." He tried to read her face. Suddenly a thought came to mind. " Hey, you hungry?"
Tessa stopped then looked at him. Her stomach immediately responded to the offer. "Yes." She smiled up at him. He smiled in return before she led him to the cafeteria.

-Private plane-
Sousuke looked around the cabin. Everyone seemed to be content. He noticed a strange gathering around Kaname. He wanted to investigate but thought he should leave it be. No one was asking for help so there was probably no problem. He had been giving Kaname a lot of time to herself lately anyway. He wondered if something was wrong when he went to visit her to pick up some things but if she wasn't telling him on the spot he doubted she wanted to tell him anyway. He felt bad about the way he left. He realized what he had done wrong when Erika had called him weird. He had to leave. He was having the random pain again so he left, and he wanted to stay away. He remembered feeling like he was turning to stone. His body stiffened up, and was causing him excruciating amounts of pain. He was worried about Kaname but the look in her eyes told him she was afraid. He was going to ask at first then he remembered it was the look he received when he said he was leaving. He didn't know what was wrong though. Everything he said was true. Except for wasting his time with Kaname. He was wasting time before the pain took full affect so she was holding him up, but he still shouldn't have said it like that. He realized his mistake too late. He was staying distant. He found it strange not feeling Kaname's warmth while he slept but he did it the first 17 or so years of his life he could do it a few more days. He was planning on dedicating his time to making it up to her on this trip, after finding out she was so hurt. He was really hurt by what he saw in her eyes. The feeling he got from her also disturbed him. He hated hurting Kaname.
He decided to take his seat 3 aisles behind Kaname. He was immediately interrupted in his thoughts by Shinji. "Sagara-kun!" Shinji immediately pulled open his laptop. "Check this out. I've almost got Chitose to be my girl." Sousuke looked at the image of the happy looking girl with hair to her shoulders. "Understood."
Shinji waved his hand in front of Sousuke's face. "Is something wrong?"
"Negative. It's not a problem." Sousuke used his usual calm voice to answer.
"Well okay but Kaname was really upset…" Sousuke turned to Shinji. He immediately stood to see Kaname. She was playing cards with her friends. "I don't see a problem." He wondered if Kaname had gotten over the incident.
When Sousuke turned to Shinji he didn't see him.
"You aren't supposed to say anything." Maya's voice was streaked with venom.
"We'll let you go but one foul up…" Maya ran a finger across her neck. Shinji nodded in response. She quickly deposited him back in his seat.
"Kazama what happened?" Sousuke raised his eyebrow. Shinji was just shaking in fear. Sousuke quickly disregarded it. He continued to think of how to make it up to Kaname.
10 minutes later Kaname and her friends decided to watch some of the on board television which actually was able to obtain a lot of channels. Shinji continued to show Sousuke his game.
The speaker turned on. "Excuse me everyone this is the pilot speaking. We will be landing at the Southwest Air Lines in Okinawa in a few minutes. Please remain seated until the plane has stopped."
"Finally."
Everyone waited as the plane landed, and began slowing down.
"Wow look at that." Kyouko pointed out the window. Once the plane stopped
Ms. Kagurazaka stood up. "Okay everyone we're going to do this orderly. Collect all your items, then follow your designated chaperon to one of the busses. You will be checked into you hotel. We will spend the first day getting accommodated. If you want anything ask Mr.Miura, Ms. Futsuki, or me for anything. Follow us."
The exiting of the plane, and the boarding of the buses was swift and easy. Sousuke remained behind to clean up the plane. The pilots, and guards helped him. They needed to get back as soon as possible. Once that was done he headed to the back to get the extra equipment. The other men helped him load it into a van. After making sure everything he saluted then left the men to their business. He stepped into the van then started the ignition. Soon he was on his way to the hotel.

-Origin Base lab-
"He's ready." The capsule began to rise as the liquid inside began to empty out.
The features were recognizable now. The man looked scary. Even asleep his face had a small twisted grin on it.
"Do we know his location?"
"Yes, we'll send him tomorrow."
"Good."
-Loisir Hotel-
"Excuse me. We are here under the name of Jindai class." The desk man began to check through his book. He stopped then pointed at a name. "Ah yes. Here we are. I will call someone to show you to your rooms. You have 2 floors booked. I will give the keys to the bellboys, and he will hand them to you from there." Just then 3 young men walked in from outside. They were handed the keys then led the class in groups to the floors. Students would be grouped in sets of six per room. Their rooms were on the 13th, and 14th floor. Hayashimizu had his own room as well as the teachers. Kaname was awarded her own as one of the benefits mentioned earlier but she shared hers with her friends. Sousuke was also given his own room. He preferred that so he could set up some security measures.
"Finally." Kaname walked into a room and fell flat onto her bed. Ren headed for one of the three restrooms awarded with the special suite. Everyone else started unpacking.
"So what are we going to do today?" Mizuki was walking around the room inspecting the luxuriousness of it.
"Wow this place is nice. But how about we go for a swim." Mizuki along with every one else picked out new bathing suits. Even Kaname had obtained one.
Kyouko was taking pictures of the room, and what each girl was doing at the moment.
"What do you think Kana-chan?" Kaname rose to a sitting position on the end of the bed.
"Yeah wouldn't you like Sousuke to see your new suit. Maybe he'll notice this time." Kaname blushed then threw a pillow at Mizuki.
"We need to ask the teachers first remember. And besides the flight was long so I'm tired."
"Dog pile." Kaname couldn't identify the speaker but soon she was covered by her friends. Ren finally walked out of the restroom. "Did I miss something?"
The girls continued to laugh while trying to decide on what to do their first day. Suddenly they heard a gun shot from the hallway. "Sousuke's here!" Kyouko called out. Before they figured anything out, a loud Fwap! could be heard from the same place. Kaname had packed her harisen. She would not let Sousuke ruin her trip.
"Kaname what was that for?" Sousuke was rubbing his head. The bell boy had run away.
"You just got here, and you're shooting off bullets!"
"But he tried to take my bag."
Kaname stood staring at him. Her anger was turning into the fear, and pain again. She was disgusted with herself to be acting this way. She had to leave she couldn't look at him. Luckily Ms.Kagurazaka stepped out.
"I'll take care of this Ms.Chidori you may return to your room. Come with me Mr.Sagara."
Sousuke watched Kaname's retreating form. His chest was twisted from what he saw in Kaname's eyes. He would need to find a way to make it up to her as soon as possible.
Kaname leapt onto her bed, and stuffed her face in a pillow.
"Kana-chan what's wrong what happened?" Kyouko followed Kaname to the room the girls followed suit but they let Kyouko do the comforting. "Kaname are you ok?"
"I-I can't, I can't even look at him." Kaname's voice was a bit muffled by the pillow but still understandable. "It's understandable Kaname you're probably still upset. Listen let's enjoy the first days of this then if Sousuke hasn't done anything himself we'll talk to him." Kyouko rubbed Kaname's neck.
"I hear there's a spa wanna go get a massage?" Kyouko stopped rubbing her neck when she felt Kaname begin to rise. "Yeah that sounds good. Let's all go get a massage. I mean Sousuke did say all expenses were covered right." Kaname stood up then went to the bathroom to clean up. "A massage then, and a hot spring bath." Ren added. After informing Ms. Futsuki they headed towards the spa area.
"Well Mr.Sagara what do you have to say for yourself?" Ms. Kagurazaka led Sousuke to his private room before scolding him.
"I well he suddenly grabbed my bag telling me to let him have it, Ma'am." Sousuke was standing at attention speaking as though he were talking to a superior officer.
"He was asking to take your bag to your room."
"I did not ask for assistance. There are very important items in these bags. I can't just let anyone handle them."
Ms. Kagurazaka sighed. Sousuke really was a headache. But he was at least there.
"Fine but be careful from now on. I will check on all the students later. Have a good day." Ms. Kagurazaka turned and exited the room. Suddenly knocking was on the door.
"Who is it?" Sousuke called.
"Shinji!" "Come in."
"Wow nice place Sousuke." Shinji took a quick look around the room. Suddenly
Onodera Kotarou burst into the room. "Sousuke, pal! What's up?"
He froze when he found Sousuke's gun pointed at him. "Hey pal."
Sousuke sighed then lowered his gun. He placed it back in his pants then continued to unpack his items.
"May I help you two?" Sousuke turned to them both after unloading a small device.
"Just saying hi." Ono-D began to walk around the room. "Woah there's enough space in here to you know…" Ono-d stopped at the doorway to the large bathroom.
"Actually I'm here to ask you something." Shinji looked around the room again." Hey Sousuke, can I stay in here?"
"Negative, this is a private room. I need to make use of everything. Having unnecessary items or persons in the room will cause problems. If there is nothing else you want I have to ask you to leave."
"Well actually….Never mind I'll ask later." Shinji turned to leave.
"Understood. Onodera do you need something."
"Yeah I need this bathroom." Ono-d walked back into the main room. Sousuke's glare stopped him cold. "I'll go."
"That is good." Sousuke watched as Ono-D left then he locked the door.
Sousuke sighed once he unpacked he would find out exactly what was wrong with Kaname. He could only guess so much.
-Spa Area-
"Okay girls follow me." The female attendant led the girls to a large sized room. The girls were already given towels and robes to change into. Now they would get their massage. "I can't wait." Mizuki was giddy to get her back rubbed.
Kaname was a bit hesitant once she remembered a massage meant someone would have to touch her which she did not want right now but she decided on it anyway. It was only a massage. The woman walked over to a set of adjacent tables. "Here we are. Please pick a table then lie on your stomach. The masseuses will be here momentarily." The woman turned and walked out of the room. The girls took a table in order from left to right. Ren, Kyouko, Kaname, Shiori, Mizuki, and then Maya. "So what do you think, back rubs, or full body?" Mizuki was trembling with delight. "Back rub of course." Kaname looked annoyed. If anyone tried anything they wouldn't be able to move for awhile. After about 5 minutes six men walked in. "Okay ladies, full back rubs right." "Right." Mizuki answered. "Nothing more." Kaname added.
"So you gonna talk to Sousuke or do you really plan on waiting the two days?" They were 5 minutes into the massages, and no one had spoken except for a few praises for the massage or squeaks of pleasure. Maya decided to get back on their earlier topic.
"I don't know. I'll see later depending on what mood I'm in." Kaname had her eyes closed trying to rest, but keeping from falling asleep. "Are you sure Kana-chan it might be better to tell him soon before he gets too distant." Kyouko wanted to make sure nothing to bad happened between the two. "Yes Miss Kaname you should tell him as soon as possible. Though he seems to be ignorant to what he did, he may realize it but is afraid himself. Perhaps Kazama was correct about Sagara-san having a good reason for what he did." Ren was here also because she was going to have dinner with Hayashimizu tonight so she thought she could freshen up, and try to help Kaname.
"What good reason could he have?" Shiori was trying to relax as well. She also had her boyfriend here. "No fair let's talk about someone else now." Kaname did not like all the attention. "So Ren how about you and Atsunobu." Kaname turned her head to face Ren's direction. "He is very kind, and is always helping me. I am going out with him later today in fact." Ren received a round of Oooohs from the girls. "So Kaname have you done anything with Sousuke." Kaname blushed then turned to Mizuki. "That's none of your business but no, and I thought we were talking about someone else!" Kaname was getting tired of hearing about Sousuke but embarrassment also fueled her. "No you said you didn't want to talk about him, we never agreed." Maya nodded her head in triumph. "But-"Kaname was cut off when her masseuse's hand ran too far down. "Hey watch your hands buddy!" Kaname turned to face him. He smiled then apologized.
Kaname just turned to lie back down. "So Ren what are you doing with Atsunobu later?"
"We are going to a restaurant. Then going for a stroll. Then he has a surprise."
She received more ooohs from her friends. "So you don't know what it is he hasn't even given a clue?" Kyouko was curious. She also wanted to take pictures of their date but that would be rude. Ren was about to answer when all the girls squeaked including her. "Hey watch where you put your damn hmm mwm." The masseuse was holding Kaname's mouth. The girls went to scream but their mouths were covered as well.
"This is a private, sound proof room. Even if you did scream no one would hear you. You know it's not everyday we get six lovely high school girls like yourselves." The girls' faces were filled with fear when they saw the faces of the men go from kind to filled with lust in an instant. "Oof!" Kaname kicked her captor in the groin but he caught her again then held her down on the table. "The doors locked there no point in trying to get out bitch!" His grasp on Kaname's wrists were firm, having them pinned above her head making her breast stick up more. His other hand was covering her mouth. Kaname tried to bite, and kick but she was failing, not too mention she was trying to be careful with her towel.
'Oh no, I don't want the first time to be rape!' These thoughts went through Kaname's mind as she struggled. The other men were watching her struggle while holding their fearful captives. Though they were trying to escape the other girls were much easier to hold then the forceful Kaname Chidori. The man let go of Kaname's mouth to reach for her towel. She screamed immediately. Unfortunately the information about the room was correct, but he slapped her across the face anyway. That didn't slow her down though. She continued to struggle. Her friends began putting up bigger fights when they saw her slapped anger replacing their fear. The angry men forced each girl down using enough force to keep them from being able to move. Kaname's anger was being taken over by fear when she realized she couldn't escape. She realized these men had to be trained somewhere to be able to do this. Her fear turned to regret, and shame at what was about to happen. She felt the man tugging on her towel.
'Sousuke…' his name and face kept replaying in her mind. She thought back to when they first kissed the look in his eyes. His face was soft then. A look she knew only she received from him. Regret built up to immeasurable levels in her. She would not cry though, she would not give them that satisfaction. She was still in a hotel full of people she knew, and Sousuke he was there. She held on to her thoughts of him as best she could.
BANG!
The door burst open, flying a few yards before skidding across the ground. "What the!" The man holding Kaname was instantly knocked out. The other men tried looking for their intruder through the smoke. They were out before they realized anything. The girls huddled together waiting for the smoke to disappear. Kaname stood up; she looked as hard as she could to see the figure within. Finally the smoke cleared up enough. She could see his gray eyes, brown hair, and X shaped scar. She instantly ran into his arms any fear of him before now removed.
"Sousuke!" Kaname's voice was cracked. Sousuke placed his arms around her then rubbed her back with his hand. The girls stood up as well.
"It's alright Kaname. I won't let them hurt you." Sousuke turned to the girls. "Are you alright?" The girls simply nodded. They were all starting to cry, from the traumatic experience.
Sousuke looked down at Kaname. Her hands were clenching the fabric of his shirt. He could fell the moistness of her tears as they soaked through his shirt. Then something caught his eyes. He lifted Kaname's head then began to examine her cheek.
"Sousuke what are you…"
"Kaname who did this to you?" Sousuke was rubbing his thumb across her red cheek.
Kaname turned then pointed at the newly awakening opponent.
"What in the…!" The man froze when he was tugged to his knees by his collar. A gun was forced into his mouth. "You! You are the one who hurt Ms. Chidori!" The man looked at Kaname out of the side of his eye. He received the gun pushing deeper down his throat. "Well!" The man quickly nodded. Sousuke slowly pulled the gun from his mouth then deposited it in his pants. "I see. The proper authorities will take you but first I will deal with all of you. "Sousuke lined up each unconscious body and spread their legs. He told the man that was awake to do the same. He then placed a charge on the groin of each man waiting for them to wake up. "Kaname you and the others should go. I'm sure security will be here soon. Though their response time is deplorable you should get some help." Sousuke looked down at the men, then to the floor.
"Kaname, I apologize for the way I've been acting. I did not mean to look at you that way or say such things. I truly regret it; I would have regretted it even more had these men been successful. I'm sorry." Sousuke had thought about it on the way down the hotel before he realized the danger. He was surprised when Kaname's arms wrapped around him. He looked up. Kaname began to speak against his back. "It's okay Sousuke. I'm just glad you came to save us. Thank you for apologizing. Though you still need to explain later." Kaname slowly let Sousuke go. He turned to face her. He placed his hand on her face again then slowly rubbed her cheek. The mark had already faded. Despite the girls Kaname stepped forward then went on the very tips of her toes to kiss Sousuke. He hesitated at first. He was still aware of the girls, and their agreement. Then he realized he hadn't kissed her in days. He bent down to deepen the kiss. He heard oohs, and giggles. Just then he heard the men begin to wake up so he ended the kiss. "We will talk later. You should go get dressed." Sousuke turned to the men on the floor. Kaname and the girls left.
"What happened?" the man holding Ren spoke as he sat up.
"Not what happened? What will happen if you do not do as I say?" Sousuke glared at the men. His malice filled him at that moment realizing what these rats would have done. His stare was colder then any he had made before. 10 times worse then the one he regretfully turned on Kaname before. The men began to shiver. Suddenly one of the men fell back. He was trembling then Sousuke noticed his convulsions. He was having a heart attack. Sousuke almost grinned at the thought of scaring him to death just by looking at him.
"You will not have a chance to do this again." The men were too scared to even speak. Sousuke decided to get it over with before anyone came. But first he would complete his revenge. He walked over to the man who had slapped Kaname. The man stood frozen when Sousuke lifted him up.
"Which hand did you use to slap her?" The man barely fidgeted his right hand. Sousuke took his hand then laid it on the massage table. The man screamed as the large knife went through his hand. Sousuke slammed the man onto the table then pulled out his other hand. Both hands had touched Kaname. The knife went through this hand as well. The man's screaming would be heard. Sousuke took back the hand that slapped Kaname then stabbed it again across from the first stab, then he removed the man's index finger, pinky, and thumb. A lot of blood, and screaming came from the man. Sousuke looked at him one last time, then at the men sitting on the floor in fear. He walked out of the room. He clicked a switch. A loud boom could be heard along with terrible screams, and shrieks, and disturbing noises of destroyed flesh. Sousuke would have done worse had he had the time, but their was no way those men would be using their lower areas again, if they could put them back together, the charges were not lethal but had enough to take off a limb at close range. They would probably be dead if they'd gone farther. He stood listening that the men were still awake and in pain. He heard the sirens, and noticed security had finally made it on their way.

-Kaname's suite-
After about 1 hour Kaname and the others were free to return to their room. Sadly they had to explain everything to the teachers. Kaname was glad, and incredibly horrified when she heard what Sousuke had done to the men, luckily no one knew it was him. She was just glad to be back in her room. Despite what happened the girls still decided on a nice hot spring bath. The rest of the class had bothered them as well trying to attain details before they were swept back to their rooms.
"Is everyone ok?" Kaname looked around at her friends. Kyouko was going over her recent photos. Ren was looking for clothes for her date before getting ready for a bath. Mizuki was with Kyouko. Maya, Shiori was getting everybody some drinks. Everyone nodded then smiled. Kaname realized how strong her friends could be to be able to go one so well after that. She doubted they were perfectly okay. Shiori had spent time with her boyfriend. Ren was being consoled by Atsunobu before returning to the room. Atsunobu was surprised when Ren said she still wanted to go out.
Kaname hadn't seen Sousuke since she left with her friends to get help. She guessed he had gone back to his suite. What she didn't realize is Sousuke was setting up security cameras and other measures at that very moment.
"Okay we're ready Kana-chan." Kaname hadn't noticed the girls preparing to go to the hot spring while she was thinking. "Okay." She nodded then rose to the door.
The hotel manager said they could have private and free rights to the luxuries of the hotel because of the employees they hired without making sure of anything wrong. It turns out the men were ex-cons who were put in jail for rape. They had been removed from jail at the same time, and had decided to stick together. Kaname thought back to how much they must regret that. But they offered them their free use of hotel accessories. This way they avoided a law suit. No one complained.
-Hot spring-
"Oh this feels nice." Kaname said as she slowly submerged her body. Their bodies were a little sore from the rough handling earlier.
The girls soon followed. They all found a comfortable spot then rested as best they could. The hot water soothing their muscles. "So Kaname, did you enjoy it?" Mizuki peaked at Kaname through one open eye. "Enjoy what?" Kaname had her head rested back. They were using the hot spring that was natural though they had to walk a little extra. It was not a problem because the hotel owned it, it already had a pathway. Kaname looked up when Mizuki didn't respond. She turned to find all the girls looking at her. "Did you enjoy kissing Sousuke? By the looks of it wasn't the first time either. You were hiding details on the plane." Mizuki began making her way towards Kaname. "Well?" Mizuki had a cat like smile on her face. Kaname turned away rubbing the back of her head. "Well heh…of course, I wouldn't kiss him if I didn't enjoy it right…heh." Kaname still looked away her old annoying laugh almost escaping. She was pulled back her whole body knocked into the water. She quickly surfaced with a splash. "Hey!" Kaname noticed a flash go off then dunked her body back in the water. She turned her glare on Kyouko.
"It's new, and water proof. Maybe Sagara-kun would like a copy of that picture." Kaname turned completely red then rushed over to try and get the camera. Kyouko tossed it to Maya. "When I get that camera!" Maya tossed it to Shiori. After about 2 minutes Kaname gave up, not exactly. She walked over to Kyouko and began giving her a noogie.
"Wah okay Kana-chan you win!" Kyouko placed her hand out for her camera.
"Hey no one said we were done." Maya began to examine the picture.
"Wow Kaname your body's amazing, and your figure, and I'm so jealous you're breast are much bigger than mine, does Sousuke notice." Kaname turned red again, then crossed her hands over her breast. She dunked her body in then started splashing her friends. Laughing could be heard as the girls continued until they were in a water war. Ren settled for bathing immediately. Kyouko followed to scrub her then eventually all the girls decided on bathing before continuing their games. Kaname and Kyouko walked over to the end to examine the view. The hotel had a nice view of a forest area, and the ocean could be seen from here.
"Wow it's so beautiful." Kyouko took a picture of the forest, and then the ocean.
"Yeah." Kaname tucked her hair behind her ear as it was carried around a bit by the blowing wind.
Kaname looked around when she heard a strange noise. "Anyone else hear that?"
The girls listened a moment then shook their heads. Kaname wondered if she was going crazy.
Ting! "Hey I heard it!" Kyouko tried looking around as well.
"It sounds like it's coming from below us." Kaname walked over to the edge then looked over the railing. "Gotcha." Kaname whispered to herself.
Sousuke was scaling the small mountain which made the hot spring. He was placing things on the wall Kaname couldn't identify. He kept climbing higher as he continued to place the strange items on the wall.
Kaname placed her hands around her mouth in order to enhance her voices range.
"Sousuke! What are you doing?" The girls quickly ran over to look over the edge. Ren grabbed some towels before walking over.
Sousuke looked up. All he could see was her shoulders up. "I am setting up security devices to avoid anymore trouble." Sousuke continued his climb up the side of the hot spring.
"Well make sure you be careful, and stay down there." Kaname called before she disappeared from Sousuke's view. Maya bent over to get a view of Sousuke. She began waving her arms. "Sousuke why don't you come up here. Kaname wants to see you."
Sousuke thought a moment if Kaname wanted to see him she would have said so. He also realized this was a hot spring. He was not so stupid as to rush into a dangerous situation involving her. "Help! We're in danger!"
Sousuke was practically running up the side of the slope. In a few seconds he was in the spring, and pointing his gun everywhere. "Where is the enemy?" Sousuke froze when he saw Kaname. She had a towel covering her front. She was standing sideways.
"Uhh… there is not an enemy is there?" Sousuke lowered his gun, but not his eyes.
"Sousuke." Kaname was clenching her fist.
"Nope!" Maya pushed Sousuke forward. The water and sheer surprise and fear the surrounded Sousuke in this predicament kept him from catching himself.
"Oh my!" Ren was shocked. "This is perfect." Kyouko's camera was going off non-stop. Maya was asking Kyouko for copies. Shiori was red, and as surprised as Ren.
Sousuke opened his eyes to find himself face to face with Kaname.
"Uhh…"
Kaname was frozen as well. Her hands were pressed on his shoulders. His now wet shirt didn't help much as their chests were pressed together. She was too surprised to even get angry.
Sousuke slowly lifted himself on his hand and knees. He for some reason regretted not being pressed against Kaname anymore. "I'm sorry Kaname. Maya said you were in danger so…"
"Sousuke you should go…" Kaname looked a little angry as she said the words through clenched teeth. She was tying incredibly hard not to disembowel him on the spot. Sousuke finished rising. He placed his hand out to help Kaname up. He watched her as she rose. He found it hard to remove his gaze. Kaname noticed. "Hentai!" Sousuke was smashed through the air with the harisen a wind from nowhere seemed to carry him farther.
"Maya." Kaname's voice was evil. She slowly turned to find Maya trying to sneak away.
"Heh, Kaname you know you, ahh!" Maya turned around to run but Kaname had already gotten her and was dunking her in the water. Kyouko continued taking pictures.
Sousuke sighed as he rose. The hit was more powerful than usual. But he could tell he would be getting off lightly compared to the culprit. He looked back at the hotel as he began his hike back. He needed to be more careful, and to control himself more. He ran his hand through his hair. He still needed to learn.
-Sousuke's room-
Sousuke finished setting up the rest of the security devices not to long ago. He took a shower since he was wet from the hot spring then dirty from the walk. He checked his stationary room equipment to make sure everything he set up was working. He was more on alert then ever after what happened earlier. He checked up the information on the six men, he was not happy to find out they were criminals. He then looked up the information on the rest of the staff. Once he set everything up he could rest for the rest of the day. He found out about Hayashimizu's date. He decided to let them be instead of set up any security measures on or around them.. He knew Kaname would be in her room with friends. He set up a visual, and sound security device in their room while they were gone. He wouldn't monitor them though. It was sensitive equipment so it would pick up if anything is wrong and inform him. Sousuke was about to sleep when he heard a knock on his door. He checked the system screen to see who it was. He turned it off once checking it was Kaname. He walked over and unlocked the door. Like the screen showed Kaname was indeed standing at the door.
"Good evening Kaname. Would you like to come in?" Kaname nodded before walking past him. Sousuke closed and locked the door.
He watched as Kaname examined his room. "Nice room Sousuke, but is this really necessary." Kaname pulled open a door showing multiple screens showing different areas from cameras Sousuke had planted.
"Uhh…"
"Never..." Kaname stopped when she noticed the one that showed her room.
"Soooooo-skaaaaaay…" he began sweating but did not move from his position by the door.
"They are merely security measures Chido…Kaname."
"Right… Peeping tom, pervert, they seem to suit you right now. Did you catch anybody undressing." Kaname turned to watch for any movement by him.
"Negative, I would not do that Kaname."
"But you do it live, and in person."
"Uh…"
"Like today at the hot spring." Kaname slyly grinned as she watched him.
"That was an accident Kaname, as you know with the current circumstances we have not been in contact for a while. I did not realize what my body was doing." Sousuke too late realized the flaw in his choice of words. Kaname blushed then looked away instead of the expected teasing.
"Did you miss…um… contact with me…Sousuke?" Kaname continued to look away.
Sousuke placed his hand on the back of his head and turned away as well.
"Affirmative." Sousuke didn't want to say anything else for fear of making it sound bad.
Kaname didn't say anything. She just smiled closed the small door, then walked over to the bed. She sat down then patted the spot next to her indicating for Sousuke to join her. Sousuke hesitated before sitting down next to her.
Kaname leaned on his shoulder. "So are you going to explain now?"
Sousuke ran his hand through his hair. He decided he would get straight through it.
"That morning I felt the pain returning. Last time I had been cold. I was unaware of exactly how it would be affected this time but I did not want you to worry. However I did not mean to hurt you either. After staying in my apartment all day the pain finally subsided at about 2000 hours that night. I could not sleep that night despite the fact I was tired from the days ordeal. I had not eaten either. I was not able to sleep because I was not used to sleeping…" Sousuke paused a moment to think. "I was not used to sleeping in my apartment anymore, or by myself." Sousuke forced the last part out, it was hard admitting he had trouble sleeping without Kaname there. "I spent all night thinking about what I had done, and said that morning. Despite that the flaw in my actions did not fully come to my realization until earlier today. The day I went to pick up my equipment I was going to ask you what was wrong exactly, the way you looked at me before I left was similar to that other day. I eventually realized I had looked at you like that again. I apologize. When I saw you next day I saw you were still afraid so I left as soon as possible, and tried not to disturb you the rest of the weekend. I realize my mistake in not approaching you sooner. I'm sorry." Sousuke turned his head away.
Kaname wrapped her fingers around his. She didn't say anything just squeezed his hand.
"I'm sorry I was afraid of you. I trust you more than anyone, and yet I still get scared."
Sousuke gripped Kaname's fingers a little tighter.
"It is not your fault, I did something that would scare you it is not a problem, I am used to it." Sousuke went to turn away again but Kaname's hand had slipped from his and now both hands were holdings his face so that he had to look at her.
"It is a problem. You should not be used to that from me. I'm sorry because I know it hurts you Sousuke. I'm sorry. You know you should have stayed though I would have taken care of you. And don't say anything about not wanting me to worry or anything again, because I did worse than worry because of you. For a moment I thought…" Kaname let go of his face then looked away. Sousuke looked worried and confused. "I thought you hate me or something…" Sousuke grabbed his chest. That hurt. He couldn't believe he made her feel that way. He cared about her very much. He would never want her to think that.
"Kaname I would never hate you…" Sousuke placed his hand on her shoulder. He felt slightly relieved when one of her hands gripped it. He placed both arms around Kaname then laid her on the bed. He didn't turn her or force her to say anything. He just stroked her hair, neck, and back.
"Kaname I care about you very much, more than I've ever cared about anyone. I trust you more than anyone else as well. I can do an…"
"I feel the same way Sousuke…" Kaname slowly turned around. Her eyes were big, and soft. Her expression sweet. Sousuke's face softened up.. His face had a sense of longing in it. He hadn't spent much time with Kaname since then and the kiss he received earlier along with the incident at the hot spring made him miss her more.
"I lo… I" Kaname was finding it hard to say the words. Her façade to keep her from getting to close to anyone blocking out her wish to say it. She knew Sousuke could disappear at any moment. So she had another idea.
"Sousuke promise me you'll always come back. No matter what." She kept her eyes on his. Sousuke didn't look away but his expression changed to one of regret.
"Kaname I do not wish to make a promise I'm not sure I can keep."
Kaname looked disappointed. "Please, you always keep your promises. If you promise me this I know you'll always come back. Just make sure you keep it. I know you can do it. You did say you can do any…"
"When I am with you Kaname. I will not be with you if I am gone."
Kaname stopped a moment. She looked into his eyes trying to find something. She could tell Sousuke was thinking.
"Kaname I need to ask you something. If I do go. No matter what happens may I come back?"
Kaname tried to read his face. "Yes."
"Even if I kill a million people?"
"I'm sure you would have your reason, it's okay Sousuke, still yes."
"What if it was in cold blood?"
Kaname stopped. Her eyes widened as she pondered the thought. She closed her eyes then look at him again.
"You wouldn't do that, but even if you did…" Kaname did not want to lie, she did not know how she would react. She reacted horribly the first time she heard his kill count.
"I don't know but I believe yes you could come back."
"If I killed your sister, and father?"
"What?" Kaname sat up on the bed. She was not close to her father, but it bothered her anyway, her sister worried her more. "Sousuke what is this about?"
Sousuke sat up next to her. "I'm worried about some things. I cannot say because I don't know exactly."
Kaname forced him to look at her again. "You wouldn't but yes you could come back."
Surprise was clear on Sousuke's face. He didn't really believe it but she said she would so it meant that he had a good chance. He looked deep into her eyes preparing himself for his last question.
"Can I come back, even if I die…?" Kaname felt her heart wrench at that one. The one about her family, and the people bothered her, but this one disturbed her even further. She saw that this was important to him, she could also tell he was at some kind of loss. The hurt in his eyes bothered her. She could tell he was reading her the same way, and he could see her pain."
"It's a promise." She whispered.
"Kaname you did not need to promise..."
"Yes I did."
Sousuke smiled his invisible smile.
"Then I promise to always to come back." He was sure he could keep the promise. At least right now he was as sure as he would ever be. He realized that even if he didn't promise he did always want to come back.
Sousuke leaned towards Kaname. She closed her eyes then leaned forward. Soon they were embracing each other, and eventually lost in each other. Each relieved so much they're bodies were tired. Sousuke unconsciously wanted to do more but had to control himself. Now was not the time. He still needed to control it.
Instead he laid her down, and lied next to her. Pulling her close to him. Kaname was worried her friends would come looking for her but that didn't matter right now. All that mattered to her was Sousuke. Sousuke pulled her in for another kiss. He had really missed her he couldn't believe he purposely stayed away, and made her go through that for the past few days. All that mattered was her now. They said nothing more as they lied there in each others arms. Finally for the first time in days. They slept well.
