The Diary

A/N: I've been getting a lot of complaints about the length of the chapters, so I'll try my best to make them longer. I do enjoy y'all's reviews and would like some constructive criticism. They do help me write faster. Please note: I am looking for a beta reader to beta read for me. Now on to the story.

Chapter Eight:
Resorting
After the revelation, both Malfoy males were left speechless. Salazar smiled, "Unexpected huh? Well Dumblefuck isn't a good person. He was prepared for me to be sacrificed to the darkest wizard of the century, so I did the only logical thing and joined him."
The elder Malfoy cleared his throat, "Yes, very Unexpected. But I'm glad you saw the light or rather the darkness so to speak."
After discussing other things the two Malfoys and the Riddles agreed to keep everything that was said between themselves. Draco agreed to help Salazar when he came back to Hogwarts. Because of the hierarchy in Slytherin, Draco chose to take Salazar under his wing. They said their farewells with the promise to help futher the Dark Lord's goals in the ministry, then they entered the floo and returned home.
A few months passed, and September 1st came around quickly. Salazar and Tom made sure they had everything squared away and Tom made sure his heir had everything to help him succeed in the new school year.
Tom apparated Salazar to King's Cross station with his trunk as well as Hedwig's cage. "Got everything?" Tom asked.
"Yes, father," replied Salazar, "I'll write home after the sorting ceremony."
"Please do," replied Tom, "I will do my best to further our goals in the ministry while you're at Hogwarts. I'll see you for winter holiday."
Tom hugged his adopted son, and Salazar found himself an empty compartment for the journey back. As the train pulled away, he waved to his adopted father. After the train pulled away and they were beginning their journey, Salazar was joined in his compartment by Draco Malfoy, Blaise Zabini, Theo Nott, Pansy Parkinson, and Daphni Greengrass. "Everyone, I want to introduce you to Salazar Riddle, the heir of Slytherin. Salazar was homeschooled. I promised his father, I would take him under my wing, so to speak," Draco introduced.
Then Draco introduced him to each student. "Now that we have that out of the way, are you excited Salazar?"
"Very much so," Salazar said with a small smile, "I'm sure I'll be sorted into Slytherin much like father, and I remember him telling me how much he enjoyed his time at Hogwarts and the true friends he made in Slytherin."
"Indeed. We are not just cunning, but the most loyal to those we call our friends. I'm Blaise by the way," Blaise Zabini replied with a smirk, "Only Hufflepuffs are more loyal, but our house is better."
"What subjects are you excited about? Daphni Greengrass is my name by the way," Daphni replied with a small smile.
"Probably Ancient Ruins and Arithmancy," replied Salazar, "Although I am particularly keen that I will do well at Charms and Defense Against the Dark Arts. Of course, Father was going to send me to Durmstrange originally for their curriculum on the Dark Arts, but decided to go with our Ancestor's school instead, since it is my birthright," he surmised introspectively.
"Who is your ancestor? The name is Pansy Parkinson. Pleasure to make your acquaintance," replied Pansy.
Salazar gave her a small smile, "I am his namesake, the one and only, Salazar Slytherin. I'm directly related to him."
"If you're related to Salazar Slytherin, can you speak parsletongue? My name is Theodore Nott. But I go by Theo," Theo inquired.
" Yesssssss," Salazar hissed.
The group around him shivered together at the sound of his hissing.
Soon they were getting closer to Hogwarts so all the students went and changed into their robes. Salazar's new robes only bore the Hogwarts emblem which was strange to him since he was so used to being in Gryffindor robes.
Once they reach the station, Salazar joined the 1st years to cross the lake on the boats. And much like his 1st year, Professor McGonagall gave her speech. "Now before you go through these double doors to be sorted, positive contributions will earn you points as well as detriments will lose you points. I will call you one by one to be sorted by name. The houses are Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff. Your house will be like your family." Then she looked at Salazar, "Be prepared. I hope you enjoy your first year here at Hogwarts."
Then when she walked through the doors to check if they were ready for the new students. The 1st years were so full of excitement. They chatted excitedly before Professor McGonagall came back, "We're ready for you."
They all entered the Entrance Hall and walked between the tables and stopped in front of the stool which had the sorting hat sitting upon it. The hat started to sing:
"I might not be the prettiest of hats, but you'll be sorted once you put on my Cap. Slytherin is where you'll make your real friends. Those great snakes are cunning and ambitious. Or perhaps you belong in Gryffindor where those house lions are brave, noble, and true. Or perhaps you dwell in Ravenclaw. Those Hawks are the cleverest and the most wise. Lastly, you might be a Hufflepuff badger who is a kind and loyal companion for the darkest of days.
Now I must warn, the dark days are upon us. The Hogwarts houses must unite against a darkest of foes. A great evil is upon us that means to destroy the Wizarding World. Just put on my thinking hat and I'll say where you belong."
Then the hat stopped singing. "A darkest of foes?" Salazar whispered.
"Now, when I call your name, you will be sorted," instructed Professor McGonagall, "Riddle, Salazar."
Salazar marched to the stool like he did in his 1st year, and got up on the stool.
"Ahhh. Mr. Potter or should I say, Mr. Riddle. Ready to go where you belong?" asked the Sorting hat.
"Yes. I'm sorry I ever doubted you," replied Salazar.
"Apology accepted," then without a pause the hat yelled out, "SLYTHERIN!!"
