Pairing(s): Lily Evans (Potter) x James Potter Rating: PG Warnings: None.
Summary: In which the friendly banter is amusing, and it's James's fault Harry is so cute. (James x Lily)
Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter, but if I did, well, we'd see/read more James x Lily.
Rants: This just popped into my head in an attempt to write fluff for my beloved Cap'n Binky. So yes, it's fluff (OMG! Ookami can still write fluff!). Uh, other rants...
Dedicated to the amazing and beautiful Cap'n Binky, whom I love with all of my heart.
"Are you saying he's my fault?" James asked, aghast at the very idea, a mock surprised look to his face.
"Yes, I am," Lily replied, nodding, tucking the blankets around Harry tighter.
"So, the fact that you have the cutest son on the face of the planet is my fault?" James repeated, and Lily nodded, "You know, the other women thanked me for it."
"James!" Lily choked, shocked, and thwacked him in the chest with a large tiger stuffed animal.
"Aw, Lilyflower, I was joking," James replied sweetly, wrapping an arm around her, only to be pushed away, "I've only ever had eyes for you."
"Right, and the whole Maia thing was an accident," Lily snorted.
"I was drunk, and in the dark she almost looked like you," James replied truthfully, "By the time you found us I managed to drag her into the light, and I realized she wasn't the beautiful women I married."
"Woman," Lily corrected sweetly, though the annoyance was obvious in her eyes, "Women is plural."
"Right, sorry," James half laughed, "You know I love you more then anyone else in the world."
"More then Harry?" Lily questioned.
"Yes," James replied and Lily gave him an evil eye, "I haven't known him as long!"
"Funny, I loved him more then you from the moment I knew he was there," Lily said smartly, and James stared at her with a mixture of hurt and surprise, "I still love you though, idiot."
"Good," James said, and turned off the lights in Harry's nursery, holding the door for Lily, "Good," he repeated.
"Cat got your tongue?" Lily teased.
"No, I just saw the most beautiful thing in the world step into the light of my hallway," James said softly, and a faint blush rose to Lily's cheeks.
"Nice try, Romeo," Lily laughed, "I'm going to curl up in bed and read now, no following."
"Fine," James sighed, "Be that way."
"I will," Lily retorted, walking down the small hallway to the room, and blowing a kiss to James.
"I love you," James said.
"I love you too," Lily replied, "Oh, and the reason it's your fault?"
"Yeah?"
"Is because he's going to be just as gorgeous as you, and all the girls will want to be with him," Lily laughed.
"What about the boys?" James asked.
"JAMES!"
"Okay, okay," James laughed, "Night sweetie."
"Goodnight, James," Lily laughed.
