Chapter 35
-Origin Prisoner Rooms-
Kaname banged on the wall again. Her frustration was sky-rocketing.
'No one should have to do this so many times in their life.' She thought. She wouldn't have minded as much at the moment if she could find a decent show to watch. She thought they might have been on a crap marathon. Leonard had given up trying to convince her otherwise and was watching another show Kaname had no interest in.
She was wearing a regular T-shirt and pair of somewhat loose pants that had been given to her to change into. Her original clothes were washing. Aside from this what Schneider had said had been bothering her for awhile now. It was complicated. She didn't know actual details like Schneider did so she doubted she could understand it as easily. She sighed and rested her head back against the metal wall. She was grateful that at least the room was a clean well kept place, and not some dirty old place. Kaname had found out shortly after returning that many of the rooms were prisons to other people that were less than agreeable about this place. Leonard was taking this quite well. He had been taken out of the room many times. They also had pretty good service. Kaname was told they wanted her to be in good condition if Sousuke ever got there. She wondered if he even knew she was missing. He had left so suddenly he could have been around the world by now. Knowing was not necessarily the greatest thing in the world. The saying 'ignorance is bliss' wasn't exactly a lie. Part of her wished she hadn't learned the truth about Sousuke's condition.
"Is something bothering you Kaname?" Leonard asked turning towards her.
"No everything's alright. We're prisoners for some guys who apparently have no real interest in us. I'm in here with you, and my clothes suck. OH and I'm missing Golden Week. Everything is perfect." Kaname said sarcastically.
Leonard only grinned. Kaname probably would have been angrier if she had been looking at him. Kaname let out a breath she had been holding as a soft hand glided across her face moving her hair back. She opened her eyes to find Leonard standing over her. She wasn't in the mood to hit him so she glared at him.
"Didn't I tell you not to touch me…?"
Leonard did a soft smile rather than grinning. "Yes but sometimes people need contact. It's natural human nature."
"Whatever. I don't want to be touched right now." By you she thought. Kaname wouldn't have minded a hug from a friend, even a handshake would do. It had been less than two months since she got back from Amalgam but she was already captured again.
"I see. Well…" In truth Leonard could not think of much to do in captivity either. He was getting bored watching the shows. "I will put on some music then." Leonard turned off the television and turned on the radio, his usual back-up.
She looked at her watch. It would be night soon. She guessed it was at least sunset if not already dusk. Kaname listened as the soft music played. She was glad Leonard was not the type of person into the really loud scratchy stuff, with the head banging, and jumping around. Even worse trying to sing with the song, though she knew from experience he did not have a bad voice. Regretfully enough taking Sousuke to the Karaoke when he was pretending to be Shirai was not a good idea. Kaname closed her eyes as the music played. She felt as sleep took over her.
Leonard watched as Kaname fell asleep. He regretted the way she looked. She wore an expression in her sleep similar to when she slept at Amalgam, in the luxurious bed. She was not comfortable and did not enjoy it. He sighed as the door opened once again.

-Origin Facility: location unknown-
The ladder made small clanks as his boots made contact. He had examined the bodies before he continued on his way. Many were in horrible condition due to decaying especially from being in the water. The bloating did not help either. Some of the bodies were more recently disposed of but he did not have the time to check on everything there. The hum of some machine could still be heard but he could not identify it. He wondered how he hadn't been detected in the torpedo. Maybe he was lucky, o it was just another one of Nicholas's tricks. He moved silently when he reached the top. He pulled out one of his silenced weapons and moved over to the door. He heard nothing but the sound of machinery. Sousuke checked the handle to see if the door was unlocked. Seeing it was he slowly opened the door, and peaked around each end. He spotted no one as he made his way in silently closing the door behind him. He didn't spot any cameras, and this area was not lit very well. He moved low through the darkness. The sound of machinery helped block out any sounds he might have made. He found another door around a corner. He could hear the sound of voices coming from the other end. Sousuke pressed his ear against the door.
'From the distance of the voice as well as the way it bounces off the walls the room is not very large. Another door is on the right of the room. The voices do not sound like serious workers. Easy…' Sousuke determined what he could then pulled out an aerosol can with the chemical symbol for sleeping gas. He attached a strange piece to the can then slid one end of a tube under the door, and released the pin. He waited for the gas to travel through the tube but it was almost unnoticeable. He was using an experimental formula that would leave the gas invisible, useful for this exact situation. He listened as the occupants of the room mumbled a bit before the thudding sound signaling their fall.
He hid the empty can in a corner and put the head piece away before opening the door. After closing the door he made sure both people were asleep. He looked them over. A man and woman lay before him. Though the uniforms may prove useful people here knew him, and the outfits were not fitted for his mission like his current attire. He couldn't risk these people waking up. With a swift motion to each one he snapped each of their necks. He took a moment to hide their bodies back in the machine room. He set charges on some of the equipment. He set a timer as well as a remote activation if he needed it. After that he returned to the room. Luckily he knew a lot of the layout of this facility. He found ways to get looks at these off-limits places but of course they made sure he never really made it to see them. He now knew why.
He opened the other door with little caution. He was right in assuming this door lead to a tunnel. The tunnel was very dark and probably required a light to get through, for most people. Sousuke held out his weapon as he passed through the dark tunnel. After turning a corner he noticed light coming from the other end of a door. He was starting to realize not being completely familiar with these areas would cause problems. This room had no signs of life. He couldn't hear or feel anything. He opened the door his gun still pointed in front of him. Nothing. The room had four doors leading out of it. He didn't hesitate as he ran through the door all the way to the left. This would be easy if it was collect information or destroy mission but this was a bit more personal than that.
He slew down as he approached a set of stairs. His pace going up was slower but not by much. He stopped in front of another door. Noises were coming from the room but not voices. He could here multiple beeps coming from the room. The rhythm was unsteady. When he opened the door he found a room full of screens, some computers and, a few people. This had to be the surveillance room.
"Huh?" One of the guards turned around. He saw the door was open but no one was standing there. "You left the door open again." He said to the guard next to him and rose to close the door. He stopped when something rolled at his feet. He had hardly enough time to speak before the small object exploded knocking everyone in the room out.
He tied and gagged the unconscious group before moving over to a computer. He moved through camera settings and cameras themselves to get a look at certain areas. He stopped when he came across a certain view. He stared at the image of the man who he came to see. Travis walked casually across a room. Sousuke pulled his attention away and searched through the computer some more. He pulled up multiple schematics of the island, and the buildings' levels, and sections. This would make getting around easier. He downloaded the data into a small device in his case then turned everything back to normal. He had little problem with cameras thanks to a device he was wearing but he would still have to be cautious around. Prototypes go through tests phases for reasons. He turned to face his bigger problem. Taking out the guards before was not a big deal but if someone in a surveillance room doesn't answer than the enemy will know something is wrong. Sousuke set each person back into their seat. He looked around the room for something to use. He located a small a fridge and to his luck alcohol inside it.
He opened three bottles. He would need to put some down the men's throats. He poured some from one bottle down the first man's throat and let some trickle onto his neck and clothes. He repeated this process with the next. The last one gave him a scare when he coughed but he remained unconscious. He placed a bottled in each of their hands after spilling a little more. He hoped none of them would be the wiser. Sousuke closed the door silently and made his way back down into the room with four doors. He noticed noise coming from inside as he approached. Footsteps coming his way. He moved against the wall as the door opened. It was another surveillance guard. He let the man walk up to the room without a problem. He heard the man say something about starting without him as he exited the stairway.
"It looks like the fastest way up in through the north elevator. All the other ones stop short." He said as he made his way through the door second from the right. The door lead into another room. An actual computer room…full of people. Sousuke dropped down behind a desk before anyone looked his way. He held his breath waiting for a noise signaling that the enemies guard was lowered again. He was surprised that no one had noticed him immediately. He guessed everyone was really focused on their jobs, but that didn't mean he could make mistakes like that again. He made his way through more rooms, and hallways, avoiding anyone he could, and taking out anyone he had to. Sousuke found his way into a lodge room. This looked like someone's living room, or teacher's lounge. No body was in here now. He checked the time. It was already past lunch so no one would be in here for awhile. Sousuke looked around for any cameras he could find. He set the he two he found to replay the same image back to the surveillance room. He locked the doors then activated his communications system. It was a brief moment before he heard someone's voice.
"It's Lisa how are you?"
"I'm fine, were you successful?"
"Yeah we're ok. Aldred got a little serious but we're okay. This things a masterpiece."
"That's good to hear. I'm heading to an elevator on the north end. While most lead to the same levels the specified elevator goes to a higher level."
"Okay, I'll tell the boss."
"Roger."
"See ya."
The link disconnected. He brought up the schematics to the facility. He was not too far now. Only 2.5 kilometers away. Damn this place was big. He had already climbed ladders and multiple stairs, but the ride up was still going to be a good one or two minutes that is if the elevator didn't stop on the way up. He jumped up and held onto some piping when two more guards came walking down the hell. Sousuke held his breath as they walked by keeping one hand on his weapon just in case. He waited thirty seconds before dismounting from the pipes. He continued his walk through the hall making sure to stay out of cameras sight just in case. Sousuke noticed the security lightened the farther he entered but he had no doubt the security was very tight on more personal, secretive areas.
He finally reached the end of the current hall; a couple of guards were blocking the door. He pulled out a gun containing darts. He shot one into each of their necks. Within the darts was a quick working poison that disables a person's voice box negating their ability to make a sound. Then they are paralyzed and eventually their brain shuts down. A quick painful death. He didn't really have anywhere to hide the bodies in this long hallway. He had no doubt even tossing it in a corner they would eventually be noticed and if lights turned on down here they would be spotted immediately. He had to take his chance if not he would gladly fight his way through. He piled the bodies in the corner near the door and then stepped in front of it. His hand slowly moved towards the handle. Who or what was beyond this door. He slowly turned the handle. The bright lights and white color was definitely something new down here. Sousuke examined the room. His eyebrow twitched when he realized he entered a bathroom. What the hell was the point of a bathroom out here and why did they have guards. Sousuke checked the stalls. All of them were open except the last.
"Who is it?" The voice was soft, female. Sousuke pulled out his gun.
"Hello?" she spoke again. Finally the toilet flushed and the door lock clicked. The door slowly opened.
"Hell-eep!" the woman jumped in surprise with the gun in her face.
"Can I at least wash my hands?"
Sousuke nodded then let her pass to the sinks. The woman kept her hands in the air as she approached. After washing her hands she turned to the young man with the gun.
"Can I help you? Maybe an escaped prisoner." The woman eyed him annoyingly.
"Negative."
"Oh then a turncoat guard?"
"Negative enough questions. Why is there a restroom facility all the way out here?"
"There are no proper locations for restrooms in a lot of the offices around here so the toilets have to be all the way out here. The guards is because some of us aren't trusted. I'm one of the few prisoners who work."
"I see. Unfortunately that is unconfirmed. I will have to put you to sleep for now."
"Hey wai-" She said nothing more as he pulled the syringe from her neck. Even if she could prove useful he had no time to wait, and helping an extra person would cause trouble. There goes the idea of blowing this place up. If innocents are involved the only way to blow this place up is if it was necessary. He made his back into the hallway and down another path. He ran as quick and quietly as he could. Click!
He stopped and moved against a wall. He slowed his breathing as he listened to the noise. Guns, guards, perhaps on alert. The sound of footsteps, and metal clanging drew closer. He put down his bag and reached into it. He pulled out his SBP-180. He hoped nothing would happen. After running around this place for four hours he didn't want to screw up now. Click!
They were right next to him. Sousuke crouched and aimed his weapon. They finally entered view. He was shocked when the source of the noise came into view.
"An…arastol." The human like machine stopped. He held a tight grip on his weapon. Three of them but they were different. Perhaps upgrades. But did they get their own or somehow get a hold of Leonard's. The machine looked right at him. Sousuke knew the dark would make him invisible to a human but these things could see in the dark.
"Keep going, keep going…" Sousuke repeated the small chant. The machines stared at him for a little while He saw them shift a hand into a weapon.
"Keep walking!" His voice remained low. The machine noticed two small glowing circles coming from the corner. Finally the weapon withdrew into a hand and the small unit of maybe Arastols continued their walk.
Sousuke closed his eyes and breathed. That was a very close call.

-Prisoner rooms-
"Please kiss me…" Her warm breath tickled his neck.
"I don't…I want to but." He fought mentally wondering what to do.
"Come on BAKA!" Kaname screamed at the TV. When she woke up Leonard was gone, and she still hadn't forgotten schedules for her favorite shows. One of her soaps was on so she decided there was no point in missing it if they were letting her watch TV.
Kaname sighed when the door opened again. She assumed Leonard was back.
"Oi Kaname-chan." Gauron's gleeful voice invaded her ears.
Kaname turned to him. Her eyes widened when she saw what was in his hand.
"No hello…I thought maybe I'd give you this back but if you're going to be rude…"
Kaname opened her mouth but no words came out. They could do anything to her, and she remembered if she was rude to Gauron he would do horrible things.
"Hmm…" Gauron waved the custom Bonta-kun around.
"Maybe I should give this to Kashim."
"NO! Let me have it back."
Gauron smiled. "What would you do to have this doll?" He licked his lips.
Kaname's eyes widened. The doll wasn't that important a new one could be made.
She closed her eyes and crossed her arms.
"I want it back but I won't do anything drastic to get it. If you really want it it's not that big a deal. A big bad terrorist obsessed with a teenage boy, and plays with dolls."
She barely opened her eyes when it happened. She felt a heavy pain in the back of her head. She never saw it but somehow Gauron had his hand gripped over her mouth, and slammed her against the wall, and pinned her there with his one hand. He held the Bonta-kun in her face.
"That's not very nice Kaname-chan. You should try harder to understand me. That attitude of yours will get you into a lot of trouble. We need Kashim for a few reasons. Maybe I should tear this doll apart, or you. Or maybe I should play around with you. Let's see if Kashim wants you then."
Kaname's eyes widened at his threat. Fear crawled up her spine. The look in his eyes was that of a man who did horrible things for fun. Gauron's grin widened to show teeth when he saw her fear.
"Well Kaname-chan?"
Gauron groaned when Kaname kicked his groin area. When she tried to make a run for it she was slammed down against the bed. He looked more menacing then he had before.
She could tell he was angry. He wasn't even grinning. He just looked at her contempt hatred, and a lust for death permeating from his body.
"Kaaanaaaameeee-chaaaaaan…" the sound of his voice rolling her name made her shiver. This man would honestly kill her right now just for the fun of it.
'Sousuke' She thought his name and his image appeared in her head. She opened her eyes immediately the image was not one she had hoped for. Perhaps it was her fear but she visualized the cold demonic look in his eyes she had seen before. That increased her fear. The thought of this disturbed her even further. Kaname clenched her head. She felt like she was going insane. She heard Gauron's cold laughter as he watched her.
"Here you go…I have another present for him anyway. Besides holding something of yours will just make me want to kill you more." Guaron looked up. "Perhaps it would be a good idea to hold onto it then."
Gauron tossed the doll chuckling through his whole departure. Kaname couldn't help herself she grabbed the Custom-Bonta-kun and clung to it as she lay on her side in fetal position on the bed. "Sousuke…"
Leonard was finally returned to the room. He was surprised to find Kaname sleeping. The television was on so she must have woken up at some point. He noticed a peculiar yellow object in her arms. He walked over and leaned on the bed. He pulled his hand back when he felt the sheet was soaked. He noticed Kaname's rough breathing, and she herself was soaked.
'Is all this sweat? Why?' Leonard ignored the yellow object and nudged Kaname a bit. She immediately woke up her arm flying. Leonard stepped back after her fist collided with him. He noticed she was still breathing hard, and looked like she had seen a ghost.
"Kaname, what is the matter?" Leonard sat next to her. Kaname patted her whole body making sure she was alive. Leonard sat patiently as she collected herself. He wondered what could have caused her to be like this. She was fine when he left.
Kaname took a deep breath then looked around the room. She stopped on Leonard. She didn't know what to feel. This was perhaps the strangest abduction she'd been through yet.
"I'm fine. I'm going to go take a shower." Kaname wiped the sweat on her forehead, then stepped over to the drawers. She grabbed another set of the clothes she was wearing, and headed to the bathroom. She took the small doll with her. Leonard watched her as she disappeared behind the blue steel door.
Leonard pulled a peculiar small device from his pocket. "We need the sheets changed."
Kaname placed the custom-Bonta-kun on the sink. She closed the drain then turned the water on to her preferred temperature. She sat staring at the small doll as the bath filled. She was glad these people were not monsters in how they treated prisoners. She found it strange though but knew not to question a good thing. She felt the cold shiver of go up her spine as she remembered her encounter with Gauron. She turned the water off when she felt it was high enough. She stripped her sweaty garments and stepped into the tub. The heat going into her body felt good.
-Origin Facility?-
Only half a kilometer left. Sousuke kept his noise level low as he moved through rooms and tunnels. He was unfortunate in the way Schneider had chosen to build this place. Only a small child could get through the air vents here. He was forced to travel through more rooms, go down more halls, and take out more people. He had no doubt that someone if not the whole place knew he was here. They were probably staying calm to keep their work in progress. He was carrying his SBP-180 but kept the tyrants close to him in case his SBP didn't work on the possible Arastols. He had already fought with another unit of those things he ran into while traveling a tunnel. He took out two with SBP-180 but it took longer while the Tyrant destroyed the others in a single blow. While the recoil was weakened it could still do some damage to someone's wrist. He did not get out completely unscathed. He was lucky he was wearing some protective equipment.
Sousuke ducked into hiding when he a guard entered his view. He watched the man walk by, then another, and another. A closer look showed him the elevator was very well guarded. He sighed, sitting with his back against the wall he started going through possible scenarios and outcomes.
He could fight his way into the elevator. They already knew he was here, of course they didn't have to know exactly where in here he was. A gun fight would be difficult with this many guards. He had another choice aside from weapons. Sousuke stared down at his hand. "Maybe…"
Sousuke shook his head removing the thought. Perhaps grenades…no. He doubted he could get there without being noticed. Maybe up was not the best choice. He could find another way from the lower levels. Sousuke made his retreat from the location. He made his way back to one of the stairways. He made his way down 10 levels. He was back in the piping areas, and lower sub-levels. He rushed forward not wanting to waste anymore time. He would be careful but if he ran into anybody or thing he would attack it. He ran down the dark tunnels not taking time to rest. He caught sight of a guard. A loud bang went off. The body slumped to the floor headless as Sousuke ran by. Another! This one ended with the same results. He continued his charge through the tunnels.
"Sousuke."
He stopped instantly. He looked around to see if he could find anybody. "Sousuke."
He took another step. He knew that voice all too well. "Chidori." He spoke back but didn't call. After hearing the voice again until he came across a hallway of doors. He slowly walked by listening to see if he could locate the exact door. He walked forward a strange feeling attracting him. He walked towards a door. "Sousuke." He placed his hand on a handle. He held his breath as he opened the door.

-Prisoner rooms-
Kaname heard a familiar voice in the hallway as she sat in the bed renewed from her shower. She heard the voice once but recognized it immediately.
"Sousuke." Kaname jumped off the bed and rushed to the door. Leonard stood up and stared at her. The mention of Sousuke catching his attention. Kaname banged on the door a few times until she heard the sound of footsteps beyond the door. She waited as the door opened.
