Chapter 1

Zeus had his head split open due to his headache, and gave birth to Athena. That is the story that we all know, what you don't know is that there is a twin. Perseus. Perseus was what Zeus had dreaded, he did not want the child to have been born.

Despair had hit the king of Gods like a truck, but paranoia took over his actions. He had eaten his first wife to avoid the prophecy that the goddess of the Earth had told him, just so he would keep the throne forever.

The second child of Metis and Zeus could overthrow the man. The first child will be a girl, and the second would've been a boy.

The god had been sitting on his throne, smug about having avoided a prophecy that could have ended badly on his part. Then the headaches came, and after feeling that the god had hit his limit. He had asked someone to split it open.

When his head split open, a fully-grown adult stepped out of his head, grey eyes observing her surroundings as if she is ready to engage in battle any second now. That adult was Athena.

Not long after, a man stepped out. Helios' rays of sunlight shone through his hair, instead of the harsh grey eyes like Athena, the man had soft grey eyes, caution shining as he made eye contact with his father. The god is called Perseus.

Zeus narrowed his eyes as he felt threatened by the mere presence of the boy.

Before the King of Olympus could eliminate the threat. His three other daughters flashed in. The Moirai simultaneously called out. "All Hail Athena Parthenos. Goddess of Wisdom and Reason, of Strategy and Warfare and finally of Crafts and Arts."

"All Hail Igétis Perseus. God of Loyalty and Justice. Swordsmanship and Warfare. Quests and Heroes." With a bright flash, they disappeared. Leaving all of the Olympians to process what had just happened.

Without saying a word, Zeus knew that he couldn't kill his son by the warning that the Fates had given him mentally. He is not to be killed. Silently, he planned out his plan for his dear son.

A man stepped out of the throne room, a smile on his face. Nymphs smiled and swooned over the man as the chiton he wore revealed his lean muscles. The god was muscular, thin-waisted and lean. His hair was neatly combed and kept short, in fear that if he grew it out, he would offend the man he called his father. Long hair is a display of power.

Perseus could not understand the paranoia from the man. He is after all, the god of Loyalty. His loyalty stood by Olympus and the welfare of the celestial place.

His black hair fell into his eyes and he swept it away. Looking up, he met his twin's eyes. "Athena. Sister." He exclaimed and smiled, "I haven't seen you out of your library for a while."

The harsh look on her face softened up considerably. "Perseus." She said with a smile, "I haven't seen you not in battle before, being our father's errand boy."

Perseus huffed, unhappy with being called an errand boy. "If I could I would do anything else." He walked into Hera's garden and sat down on a bench. "I would love to just travel and hunt, sister."

A hand was placed on his shoulder, "You will, eventually. When he reassesses his faults and realizes that your loyalty lays with Olympus."

Perseus grabbed his sister's soft hands and held them tightly, "I am afraid, sister." He admitted, "I am afraid that if the day comes that he will banish me for no good reason."

"Oh, Perseus." His older sister choked out. "I will stand by your side, if the day ever comes."

"Thank you, sister." When he heard grumbling in the sky and turned purple. He stood up with a resigned look on his face. "Father calls for me. Shall I see you soon?"

"Soon." Athena confirmed and Perseus turned away. He wasn't that far from the throne room. Walking in, he noticed that Zeus is the only god in the throne room. Not accompanied by Hera or any other of Perseus' uncles. He was secretly glad that Ares wasn't there, he did not feel like being challenged for no reason except intimidation.

The god of Warfare fell into a deep bow. "What must I do for you, father?" He asked.

"You must aid a woman in her search of a place where she can give birth. Hera has cursed her to not be able to birth her children on solid ground or on any island connected to the earth."

Perseus nodded as he knew which woman his father was talking about. After all, he is the god of loyalty. In Zeus' wedding vows to Hera, he promised to be loyal to her.

Everytime his father cheats on Hera. Perseus goes through a great deal of pain. The closer the people are to him, the more it hurts. Hera had been nothing but accepting of Perseus. While he isn't her child, Hera respected that he was the child of his past wife. She did, however, absolutely despise Athena, probably because Zeus goes to her for council and not his wife.

The goddess of marriage accepted that they were born but only bothered to actually bond with Perseus. His bond with Hera is stronger than Athena.

Perseus was always a mother's child, even if he didn't have the chance to connect with his birth mother.

With a deep breath in, Perseus nodded and replied to his father, "I shall raise an island and ask Uncle to anchor it in the sea, in order for the woman to birth her children."

With a content look on his face, Zeus nodded. "Do not tell Hera."

Reluctantly, Perseus nodded. Knowing he can't refuse his Father's requests at all, "Of course, Father." he answered shortly.

"Lady Leto, you are free of the curse."

The woman panted, "I know. Or else I wouldn't be giving birth right now."

Perseus blinked and immediately jumped into action, he summoned a blanket and laid it under the woman. He held up a cold rag and pressed against the mistress' head. "You're doing good, Lady Leto." He encouraged.

Moments after, a nymph held up the baby. "Lady Leto. Here is your child." Perseus said as he accepted the bundle from the nature spirit and handed it to the titan.

After a few moments of silence and silent breathing, the titan grabbed Perseus by his collar and pulled him in roughly. "We're not done yet." She screamed out and threw her head back from the pain.

Thunder rumbled in the sky and Perseus scowled. "Now is not the time, father." He growled out and dapped Leto's forehead.

Immediately, the baby that was put aside grew up into an older body. A six-year old child of Zeus and Leto. The little girl ran to aid her mother in her siblings' birth. A small frown of seeing how much pain her mother is in.

Eileithyia, goddess of childbirth sat back down on a nearby bench. "This is going to take a while, Perseus." She said and Perseus just nodded, allowing for Leto keep holding his hand.

"Would you take care of Lady Leto? Eileithyia, I will take.."

"Artemis." Leto choked out before letting out a blood curdling scream.

"I will take Artemis for a walk." He squeezed the mother's hand. "We'll be right back."

Perseus led the two out of the door and smiled as Artemis admired the scenery in front of her. A healthy color of green shone onto the acres of land. Birds were singing their songs and flying around.

"Breathe, sister." The older child of Zeus said. "You're doing well. I already consider you my favorite half-sister." He mused with a smile on his face. "You must understand that the next few days will be tough."

"Next few days?" Artemis repeated and winced as she heard another scream come from the hut.

"Birth of one god already takes a lot of power from someone. I will keep feeding her nectar and ambrosia. When you feel like your brother is coming, you warn me. I don't want her to choke."

"How would she shoke?" Artemis asks and Perseus just walks away.

"Brother? How would she choke?" Another desperate call for a non-willing-to-listen Perseus.

Finally, after the whole seven days. Perseus flashed into Olympus to report on the birth of his new set of twins. "Father." He said as he bowed deeply.

"Perseus. How are the twins?"

"Artemis and Apollo have been conceived without a problem." He really wanted to bad-mouth Hera for cursing a woman that fell to the charm of his father. It wasn't Leto's fault. "What do we do now?"

"Let seven days pass." He banged the master bolt on the marble floor, "Let their birthday be celebrated on Olympus." When Zeus disappeared, Perseus finally relaxed and let himself fall onto the steps in front of Zeus' throne, as he did not have his own.

With a look at the empty thrones and began to wonder, would he even get one? He knew that Ares had immediately gotten a seat on the council. Athena is supposed to get one, just after his Father stopped debating with his council.

Perseus? Was he even in the equation? Was it because his father is so paranoid that he isn't deserving of a seat on the council? Taking a deep breath in, he smiled and walked out of the throne room.

"Hera." He exclaimed as his step-mother walked up to him. Sweat began to drip down his forehead.

The goddess just sneered at him. "Just when I was getting used to the idea of you, you aid that filth Leto?" Anger rolled off of her in waves.

"M-Mother." He stuttered out, he recoiled a bit as the Queen of Olympus started jabbing her index finger on his chest.

"I'm no mother of yours!" She shouted.

Perseus felt his stomach drop and bowed his head. "Right." He said shortly, "I apologize, lady Hera." He said and walked away.

He tried to at least, big hands pulled him back by his shoulder. Looking at the person. Perseus was surprised, "Uncle Poseidon?" He asked but quickly shut up as he noticed anger rolling off of him.

Flaring sea green eyes met his drooping grey ones. "You've done nothing wrong, dear nephew." He said, "Hera. You must remember that also Perseus is affected by this. He can always feel Zeus' loyalty wavering everytime he beds another woman."

Sharp dark eyes were aimed at him now, "Perseus. Is that correct?"

The son of Zeus looked at the suddenly interesting floor, "Yes, Lady Hera."

The goddess just held her head up and flashed away. Letting out a breath he didn't know he was holding, Perseus turned towards his uncle. "Thank you, Uncle Poseidon."

The god of the Sea just smiled, "You do not deserve the treatment that you're getting." He sympathizes. "Besides, can't let Hera treat you like horse dung because of your father."

"Why not though?" Perseus asked, "No-one else stopped her."

"Can't let my favorite nephew suffer in silence."

Perseus smiled, "The choice is between Ares, Heph and I." He mused, "I just haven't done you anything wrong."

A hand clapped his back, "Smart boy!" He exclaimed, "I can see a bright future for our friendship!" His uncle raised his eyebrows and nodded, "You're welcome in my domain. The water will not hurt you."

Perseus looked up and smiled, "Thank you, Uncle." He said and bowed, "I need to continue to follow my orders."

"Visit me in Atlantis, won't you nephew!" Poseidon called out as Perseus was ready to flash away.

"Of course." He agreed and closed his eyes before flashing away.

He opened his eyes and a vase flew in front of his eyes. He raised his eyebrows and looked at the source. "Artemis." He scolded, "Anyone else wouldn't have tolerated it."

"Good thing you're not anyone else, Perseus." Artemis scowled, "How was Olympus."

Perseus softly smiled as he noticed how quiet she asked it. He immediately got to work and dapped a wet towel on Leto's forehead, "It was fine." He said shortly, "We're goi-" Thunder boomed across the sky and the titan from besides them screamed out in pain.

"Gods-" Perseus grunted as Leto took a hold of his hands. "Titan strength." He whimpered and kept dabbing her forehead. He looked at Artemis and nodded in encouragement.

He kept whispering words to Leto in order to distract her from the lovely pain that birth does to a woman. In the corner of his eyes, he could see Artemis doing her best. He also noticed that the night was ending and dawn began.

The first light strayed through the curtains and a baby screamed. Artemis coo-ed at the baby and handed it to her mother. The mother was glowing, literally. Because of the baby in her hands.

Perseus handed her a cup of nectar. "You did good, Lady Leto."

"Just Leto." The titan answered, "You have been by my side instead of Zeus. Leto is just fine."

Thunder was heard across the sound, and Perseus frowned as he could already hear Zeus whine about it. Then, the sky was painted in purple.

With a small smile, he turned back to the twins. "I shall return with gifts after my audience back on Olympus." He said and ruffled their hair. "Be back later!" He called out before flashing away from Delos and into the abode of the gods.

Perseus walked through the open doors of the throne room. "Father. I have been summoned." He greeted.

"Indeed." His father held his head high, eyes zoning in on the boy. "You must track Prometheus seeing that he had tricked me into aiding humanity. Find him by the end of the week, before you have to bring back the twins from Olympus." He ordered.

Perseus bowed, "Yes father, I shall." He said and waited to be excused.

The immediate disappearance had told him enough. Perseus closed his eyes and flashed into his sister's library. "Sister, I seek your council." He said with a fond smile.

Annoyed gray eyes met his, amused ones. "For what do you seek council for?"

"The titan Prometheus." He answered, "I know you have been reading about the titanomachy. Perhaps you happened to know about his location."

"Brother, he is the titan of foresight. How would you find him?" Athena questioned.

Perseus smiled, "That is where you come in, you haven't had a challenge yet."

"You speak the truth. Ares wasn't even a match, nor an option for a challenge." Athena said, mirth shone in her eyes.

Her brother let out a laugh, "Would you happen to know anything?"

"Assuming that he already knows what his punishment is going to be. I'm guessing he won't be far, hoping to talk our father down from something too heavy."

Perseus nodded, "I shall visit the sea, as Prometheus talked about it before."

"You have talked to the titan?" Athena hissed and looked around, "You know father will be upset if he hears. And why even ask me for council if you know where the titan is."

"He was enjoying the sunset with me, Athena." Perseus defended the titan. So far he has only seen peaceful titans; the two twins have been conceived by titans. "He talked about his siblings and their future. I came here to just talk with you, because I have missed you, sister. Even though we talked a few moons ago." Taking a deep breath in, Perseus kissed his sister's temple and closed his eyes. "If you will excuse me, sister. I'm going to find a titan."

When he opened his eyes, he looked over the trees from one of his favorite mountains. He felt his powers dampen a bit as he walked along the path that had been walked daily. Perseus smiled as he took it all in, his eyes stopped scanning his surroundings when he noticed a trap. Hissing came from the bush it was trapped in.

He felt anger flare in him. His sacred animal has been trapped. He stepped closer and let his godly aura flare out a bit, the hissing calmed down a bit. Perseus could translate the hissing to pleads of help. With a small smile, the god inched closer, revealing a mountain lion. "You should be a bit more careful. Humans are putting traps that are purposed for harm rather than for catching." He stated and pulled out a dagger from his boot.

He assured that he wouldn't hurt the mountain lion and cut away at the net. "There you go." Perseus said as he released the mountain lion from its ambush.

'Thank you, Lord Perseus.' A voice he can presume is from the lion.

With a smile, the god scratched the mountain lion's head, "No need to call me Lord. Perseus is just fine." He watched as the lion left the scene. After roaming the forest for a few minutes, he remembers that he is supposed to go and find Prometheus.

Walking down another familiar path, he came across an empty cabin. He sensed that no one was inside and then walked down the stone steps and onto a dock. "Prometheus." Perseus greeted and leaned against the bench where the titan sat. "It would be weird to tell you what my purpose here is."

"Funny." Prometheus called back, "Your purpose is far more glorious than what Zeus lets you do, you know?"

"He is my father and my king. I have to do what he says regardless." Perseus argued and noticed that the sun was settling again.

"That is not your purpose, Perseus." The titan argued. "You know of the paranoia that your father has! You know he'll never let you have a throne on Olympus. You know he'd rather kill you then let you have power." The man trailed off and stared at the changing colors of the sky. "What if you find someone you love." He questions.

The god his ears perked up at the thought of love. Aphrodite has tried to bed him many times, but he refused. Knowing how disappointed his sister would be in him if he bedded someone who won't love him for eternity.

A low chuckle came out of the giant. "Now I have got your attention, Perseus." The titan looked at him with wisdom in his eyes. "You will have to wait for many centuries. Then, for another one or two millennia long, she will be unattainable." A crazed look in his eyes. "What happens after, is for me to know, and for you to find out!" He let out a maniacal laugh. "Your loyalty won't allow you to love anyone else. Do everything wisely, young Perseus. This is all fates' game. Willingly or not, you have to play."

Perseus listened to the titan and his whole body stiffened up. A sneer painted his angry face, "I will wait!" He retorted, coldly. "I do not love until I find my partner. I will not be unloyal, like my pig father." He spat out, "I will find whom I am supposed to love. When I do, I will know."

He took a breath in and calmed himself. "I apologize for yelling, Prometheus."

A smile replaced the curious look of the titan. "I deserved that." He said as if they are old friends. Well, they have been friends since Perseus had been around. "Are you ready to bring me back to Olympus?" He said and stood up from the bench.

"Yes." Perseus says and looks at the moon. "I need to be somewhere." He clenched his jaw and looked at the Titan.

"Please, reserve this place. It is a gift from me since I will be enduring my punishment for many centuries." Prometheus said and Perseus could only nod. "Don't be afraid to visit me sometime. If your father allows it, naturally."

Perseus rolled his eyes at the backhanded question. "I will do it when I have the time to do so, my friend." He said and put a hand on his shoulder. "Your audience on Olympus is now." Then he closed his eyes.

He opened his eyes and saw the empty council of Olympus sit on their thrones. His eyes met the electric blue ones of his father, an approving look was in his eyes and Perseus bowed.

"Prometheus is here to receive his punishment from the king of the Gods." He said and looked around the throne room. Besides Zeus sat Hera. Then his eyes met those of Athena, little flares of anger radiated off of her. Then Ares glared at him, Perseus raised his eyebrows, wondering what he did to receive Ares' hate.

Then he looked at the other side of the council, where Aphrodite sat, winking at him and pushing her aura out, in hopes of seducing him, once again. Besides her sat Hephaestus, just looking disappointed.

Perseus felt a pang go through his throat, he felt that whenever someone is being disloyal. Clearing his throat, he sat in a godly sized chair beside Athena.

He watched on as Zeus punished Prometheus for helping humanity and actually letting them learn to some extend. The titan gave humans the best ox and fire. He watched and felt the feelings that Zeus had for the titan. His father felt relieved when the other gods agreed to punish the titan.

Perseus felt disgusted as they treated the titan as if he had conspired a whole war against them.

"Chained up on a mountain, you shall live the rest of your days out. This vulture." He said and summoned one besides him, "Will peck out your liver everyday. Should someone break your chains, you will be released. Or." A glaring look was sent the titan's way. "Tell me who of my fellow gods will overthrow me." And a not so subtle look was sent Perseus' way and he just felt his heart clench.

Prometheus just chuckled, "I always thought chains would be a good accessory. My chiton looks a bit bland, don't you think?"

Perseus had to hold back a laugh and a smile. Typical of the titan to act like that under the punishment that would go on forever. However, he did chuckle softly when he saw Aphrodites' face light up at the idea.

Chiton and mini-chains will be the trend on Olympus.

He felt Athena slap the back of his head. He just made a face at her and focussed back on the trial in front of him.

"Your paranoia had turned you into your father, Zeus." Prometheus said regally, "Chain me to a mountain." He spat, "I'll remember this."

That is what worried Perseus the most. Prometheus is the person that would rather move on from the past and focus on the future. Because it is literally his domain.

Uneasiness pitted in his stomach. But no-one seems to notice it as they are too focussed on the titan. He just closed his eyes and decided not to see the faith of his friend in gods disappear. Loyalty is something he didn't have for the gods of Olympus. His heart warmed a bit when he felt the remaining loyalty for him still be there.

As Zeus and Ares disappear with the titan. Hera and Aphrodite walked out. Perseus approached his brother with a smile on his face, something his brother didn't match.

"What do you want, Perseus." Hephaestus hissed.

Perseus frowned a bit, "What is with the hostility, brother?" He questioned, the black haired boy hadn't done anything to the god of forges.

"Don't think I noticed my wife looking at you like that."

The pain shot through his throat again. "This affects me as well, brother. I have done nothing wrong."

The blacksmith visibly and reluctantly thought about it. "I'd rather have you not around her." He concluded. "What can I do for you little brother?"

Perseus relaxed, "I'd like to have that as well. She has the tendency to be very touchy." He shuddered and noted the amused look of his brother. "I'm not that much younger than you." rolling his eyes, he realized he was getting off topic. "I was wondering if you could make something for me."

Hephaestus stopped tinkering with the small device in his hands. "What would that be, and what would I get out of it?"

"A golden bow, for Apollo and a silver one for Artemis. Along with a set of arrows, I don't think such weak arrows are worthy of the bows you make." Perseus said and noticed how Hephaestus. "And I'll owe you a favor."

The god of smiths raised his eyebrow. "A favor you say? A favor from Zeus' errand boy."

Perseus clenched his jaw as the annoyance of being an errand boy was struck again. "Yes." He forced out.

A laugh came from the other god as he put a hand on his shoulder. "Sorry for calling you an errand boy. Everyone knows how much you hate it." A look of sympathy painted his face. "There is no need for compensation as it is your first request. Maybe even a little gift for the new twins." He said and nodded as Perseus while holding his hand out.

"No need to compensate for the weapons, brother." Hephaestus said and smiled. "I'm excited to see when Zeus allows you to join the council." He says as they shake hands.

Perseus smiled and looked as his brother disappeared in a flash of light. He looked around the room and smiled, "Lady Hestia." He greeted and sat by the heart of Olympus.

"Perseus, no need to call me lady." She scolded.

The god bit back a mischievous smile, "Then, auntie Hestia." He said and laid back on the bench. "How have you been?" He asks.

"I am fine, nephew." She then summoned something in her hands and held it out for the younger god. "How is your throat?"

Perseus gave her a small surprised smile, "Could definitely be better." He says and accepts the cup of tea, "I am assuming you feel it all as well, auntie?"

"I feel it every time a home breaks and families suffer. Right in the heart."

Perseus hesitantly put a hand on her shoulder. "We're in this together then."He hummed and looked at the fire. An orange glow touched their faces, "I just wish that people could stay loyal to their partners."

"We all wish for that." Hestia said and looked back at the thrones. "Your father and my brother see you as a threat. He finally listened to someone and that just ends up being someone's torment."

Perseus squeezed her shoulder before standing up, "Thank you, auntie. I do have some duties to attend to." He said and smiled. "Thank you for the talk."

"I'm alway by the heart, Perseus. I'm always open for a talk."

A small smile laced his lips as he flashed out of the throne room and onto the floating island of Delos. He didn't make his presence known as he observed the twins, hunting into the night.

As a small gift he snapped his fingers and summoned a rabbit, something for them to chase around the island. Making the decision of visiting Leto instead of addressing his new siblings, he made way.

He knocked and called out, "Leto?" Before making his way inside. He saw the tired titan turning around as she made dinner.

"Perseus." She said with a smile, "How have you been?"

The god made way and stood next to the titan. "I have been well, can I assist you?" He asked and looked at what she was making. Honey glazed prawns, a true staple of home foods.

"You don't need to-" Leto began but Perseus held his hand up.

"Lady Leto, I just interrupted your evening. Let me help you make dinner, we all know we don't need a lot of food. This is just for your taste buds." He said and winked.

"You can peel the shrimps." She said, reluctantly.

"I can peel the shrimps." Perseus repeated with a happy glow surrounding him. He went over his whole week in his head and smiled.
