-Chapter 41-

"The preparations are ready. We will be prepared to make an attack on the weaker nations' forces. We will be able to take Japan and use it as a supply area and base. We will use false marks and accusation to pin our actions on the Russians and make an announcement against America. America is currently engaged in a war with Helmajistan due to terrorist bombings. We will also send units to attacks bases in Russia from America. We will use this to hopefully start a war. These two superpowers will fight and most likely drag the world into another world war. Asia and Europe will most likely join forces with the Russians. In the event one of these nations joins the U.S. we will use tactics to convince them otherwise. Once these countries have weakened each other we can move in and takeover. Of course we expect Mithril to help where they can but they are loyal to no one. We will use spies and people we can turn into traitors to help take out Mithril. Once this is complete we can send soldiers everywhere and take over. In the event the whole world decides to turn against us we will use influences to keep some on our side."

A tall man with medium-short black hair stood behind a podium. A large audience sat in the rows before him. He was presenting a much thought about take over the world idea. This idea had been thought up many times by others; even attempted a few times but were never successful. This man before them had a special idea and would perfectly coordinate the plans so that they could not fail.

"That is interesting and all but what does this have to do with what I said." Schneider appeared from the audience. He removed the hat he was wearing as he approached the stage.

"Ma-Master Schneider! I thought-"

"That while I was away you could tell everyone about your plans and try to steer us in a new direction that we could do it. Well let me tell you Mr.Gallow you're a fool. Didn't I say this before? No one can rule the world." He tossed his hat onto the lap of one of the audience members he passed by.

"But sir. This plan has been thought out. It will be successful if properly executed."

"Im-po-ssi-ble." He emphasized on each part of the word. He walked up to the podium so that he was facing Gallow then turned to the audience.

"My dear friends, you remember why you joined. You remembered the goal of our organization. You're being paid as well as you were by Amalgam and some of you by Mithril, or the rest from various places and employers around the world. We are not here to rule the world. As I just said that is impossible. People tried that with kings and they all lost what they had. Hitler tried and look what happened to him. You think the concentration camps would have worked if all those Jews, gays, and the rest turned on the camp guards…NO! Ignore what you have just heard today." Schneider turned to Gallow. "And please do not try to have meeting behind my back." He pulled out a gun and shot the man in the head. The crowd gasped in unison while others reacted more fearfully.

"Please you all know me. You know I'm not crazy." His face turned deadly serious nothing like the joking reassuring attitude from seconds ago.

"He had the ability to betray me. I will not accept such disrespect. Believe it or not all your hard work will soon come into action and we will attempt to complete our goal. Please return to your posts. Next time I expect to be informed of an assembly even if only in a report the day before." Schneider put back his gun and signaled for the body to be removed. He looked out to the audience who rose and saluted, showing their loyalty. Schneider grinned then began walking towards the back of the stage exiting through a door. He sighed when he exited the large assembly hall. His pulled out a lighter and cigarette. Creating the most amount of light in the poorly lit hallway.

"I thought you quit a long time ago." Ivy walked up to him taking the cigarette and placing it between her lips.

"Aren't you told old to smoke honey?" He said chuckling a bit. She blew out smoke before answering.

"I'm three years younger then you and your saying I'm too old to smoke."

"I'm a man. It's different. Besides that's the first cigarette I've had in 18 years."

"16 for me." She laughed to herself as Schneider watched her with a smile.

"Well that went well. Gallows's dead."

Ivy turned to him. "Really? What a shame he was so nice."

"Well let's go. I'm tired."

"Really you're too tired make love to me." Ivy pouted.

"Never." He smiled as he took her hand leading her down the hall.

"Honey I've been meaning to ask you…Why did you bring that girl to the garden? Who treats a prisoner so kindly?"

"Well she looked bored. She is not one of the regulars and I felt bad."

Ivy stepped in front of him placing her hand out to stop him. She didn't say anything but stared at him seriously. Schneider sighed.

"As I said she is used to weird abductions. But it is because she knows Sagara. I owe him so the least I can do is make her stay not so hard. She is not here for the reasons the other ones are. I am uncomfortable having her here at all. I've thought about drugging her and sending her home."

"Well Sagara is not your friend. Why do you feel you owe him anything? He could jeopardize everything."

Schneider looked at his wife warmly. "If not for him. I would not have you with me right now."

Ivy's eyes widened realizing what he meant. "What? How did he?"

"As a child. Though merciless he saved you. Remember you were once a medic in those times. His unit was following a trail of a band of enemy guerillas. You were a prisoner and about to be raped when he saved you. I was of course in a beaten weakened state. His group dropped us off somewhere instead of killing us. They were going to but instead used us and then let us free so we wandered for a couple of days. We found an American post and they returned us to safety. That little boy with the X shaped scar gave me directions. He was cold but he was helpful at least. Though he made it clear we would have to survive on our own after that. That girl is innocent I could do that for him at least."

Schneider's wife looked softly into his eyes. "She reminds you of our daughter, doesn't she?"

"Yes." His expression hardened when he answered. "My debt goes to the girl and no further. To him I will treat him as the enemy he has been all this time. Actually I was thinking of checking her for the same affects as Sagara but she doesn't show similar signs, because of her experience with him but she doesn't seem useful."

Ivy stepped out from in front of him and they continued down the hall.

"We will be mobilizing our units soon. We will need to contact our men in Singapore." He said.

"I'll have that done as quickly as possible." Ivy replied.

"Excellent then contact all the others as well."

"Have you gotten it to work yet?" Ivy asked and grew curious when Schneider stopped walking.

"Almost. It would be easier with Sagara. We still do not know the fool extent of what is possible but we will be able to do it soon. Not many others know the true goal of this organization but that will not be a problem soon. We will be preparing our units to go tomorrow. We will need to be careful. Satellites may pick up our special treat which we need. We will need to get it as close as possible without falling in. Close enough to orbit. Then we will need to get our unit mobile and some to go there and be ready. We will also send a unit to our good friends at S.O.W. Our weapons will not be able to be fought by human forces."

"Oh my. Gallow was thinking small wasn't he. And S.O.W. is such a stupid name."

"Yes."

"Also I forgot our spy says Mithril gained our coordinates when those idiots kidnapped that girl. We'll be prepared unless they can attack us tonight which I doubt. We will be prepared."
"It is only 10 am it's still quite early."
"Yes but its not important. Let's enjoy today."
"Of course."

"Kaname I must be leaving soon."

"You must be…?"

"Yes operations are starting tomorrow I have no more time to waste here." Leonard said as he began putting a coat over his new clothes. He had been given a fresh change of real clothes, and not the worthless clothes they had been wearing up to now.

"So you do work for them now…" Kaname narrowed her eyes at him.

"For the moment. I will be rising in the ranks quickly." He checked that everything was secure. He turned to Kaname.

"Once again it is a shame you choose not to do things our way willingly but that is your choice. You will still be kept well. I have business to attend to."

Leonard stuck out his hand. Kaname looked from it to his face. She placed her hand in his, she regretted it thinking he would make some type of move. She was surprised when she found all he did was shake her hand and release.

"I will see you later Kaname. Perhaps we will bring you with us." Leonard smiled and bowed then turned to walk away. "Oh yes your clothes will be brought to you later so you can put that on." Kaname nodded then watched as he walked out of the room.

-Tuatha de Danaan-

"At 0600 hours tomorrow we will be executing an assault against enemy forces. We have not had much contact with these enemies but sources tell us they use a new type of AS they designed that has a hovering system. This is not important our AS unit will dispose of them as usual. The ground assault units will be made up of ten people each. There will be 5 of these. We will also have 6 helicopters ready for support. We will have the Arm-slaves attack from all four sides. The Urzu team will be split. Three of you in an ARX-9 meaning Urzu 1, 2, 6, 8, 9 will watch be helping M9s as well as leading an attack from your side. We will send out ground units to take care of soldiers. The AS teams will take out the defenses first take out the AA weapons so we cans end in helicopter support. The carrier helicopters will not be able to get close without these gone. The attack choppers will each attack vital points higher up while the AS team combats the enemy arm-slaves we expect them to send out. Special set-up units for rescue will be sent in aside from attack units. These will focus on finding prisoners, you will back up the attack units. Once we do what we can we will evacuate the island and Mithril will be sending in cruise missiles to destroy the rest. Information tells us they will also be commencing with plans of their own tomorrow so we have to stop them. You will be briefed in more detail shortly. Tomorrow will be a very difficult battle. Prepare yourselves. We will be going over exact operations and objectives for the mission in a moment." Tessa finished with a deep breath. Sousuke had come aboard the sub with Wraith. They had a large collection of information that lead to this. The information proved useful in helping to plan the attack. He had decided he would most likely need help to fight this enemy so he did not hesitate to ask. He didn't know if he would be piloting the last of 6 ARX-9 units or whether he would be part of a rescue unit. He doubted it mattered he would most likely join a rescue unit. Even then he had more to do here then Kaname. He doubted the ARX would be unsuccessful. Three were customized too. Only Clouzot, Mao, and Kurz had theirs customized to match them, as well as outside colors. Spake and Lillian should be able to do it just fine though. He sighed trying to think. Ever since his amnesia episode in America he hadn't completely gotten back his memory and he believed he was missing vital information. He could do nothing about it until he remembered though. He turned to face the where a large screen was set up. Mardukas, and Tessa were both standing by it.

The room was dimmed and the screen turned on.

"This is a map of the island we are attacking. It is about 10 miles in length in this direction and 6.5 miles this way. As you can guess the main base is located directly in the middle. Getting close to the base means combat undersea as well so we will not be deploying from up close. Each unit will be marked in letters. AS unit A, B, C, D, and so one for the other rescue and attack units. Arm-slaves will be loaded on the specially prepared transport copters from about 5 miles away. There will be four transport copters. They will fly two per each side of the island. They will be escorted by Mithril specialized NH-90's. As for soldier units we will send them by MH-47E's the units will follow two minutes after the first set of copters are deployed. A set of attack and rescue units will be loaded into each of the four helicopters. You will be brought in closer most likely air drop will be necessary. This will get the main units deployed. When AS teams land on the island they will continue to destroy heavy land and AA weapons. You will as said mostly face enemy AS. AS teams A, c will be focused on causing as much damage as possible as well as taking out a majority of their stationary land weapons. Units B, and D will fight the enemy heavy assault units including arm-slaves. If necessary all units must help each other. One we are sure you are clear the Chinooks carrying the rescue and assault teams will be brought in. Assault units will depart first followed by the rescue units. The NH-90's once cleared will be able to come in as air support. If you are successful in taking out the forces on the outside you can move in through these tunnels." Mardukas switched the screen to show tunnels used to move large vehicles and AS. "These will be your main way to get through the base. Schematics show these tunnels are everywhere. Information says the tunnels were built because the island already had a large number of crevices caves and natural tunnels due to earthquakes in its original forming. You will be able to attack major sectors by traveling through these tunnels. We do not have the internal blueprints so once in there's little we can do. As you travel through the island information will be sent back via special equipment in the arm-slaves, and in the assault and rescue units' equipment. These will work automatically and map out the area's size and points inside. It will not be detailed but it will tell us where stairs and hallways you have been as well as different levels in the facility. We expect all units to work together and act accordingly. You will be in enemy territory you will need to be careful. We will coordinate as best we can with the information we get. If the mission is complete missiles will be sent in to finish the destruction of the facility. Captain would you like to say anything." He turned to Tessa who stood up and took the mike.

"Tomorrow will be very dangerous. You have all joined Mithril knowing the consequences and rewards. If you fail the consequences will be dire. However, you will not fail. I will speak to you once again before you depart. For now everyone rest. I do not wish to burden you so soon." Tessa put the mike in the stand and the lights came back on. The soldiers saluted and Mardukas and Tessa saluted in return. After that they stepped off stage and the mercenaries went where they wished. Sousuke turned to leave as soon as they finished.

He headed for the room he would be staying in while here. Tessa had offered to share her room when they were alone but he promptly refused. He needed to rest and think. His knee still wasn't back to perfect after Wraith's little act. That was to be expected though. He was healing quite well for the most part. He was relieved when he reached the room with no interruption. Or so he thought. When he entered Mao, and Kurz had made themselves at home.

"Just can't stay away can ya?" Kurz asked as he entered. Sousuke didn't say anything as he walked in and sat on the bed.

"How about a hello?" Mao sat next to him and pulled him towards her.

"Hello." He spoke neutrally like it was a recording from a dead man. They noticed.

"Something wrong buddy. Worried about Kaname? Yeah we heard about it. So you going to pilot an AS or go in after her." Kurz asked scooting the chair closer.

"I am still uncertain."

"What the hell do you mean uncertain. Go get your girl and we'll take care of the bad guys. Once she's safe then you can help us." Mao said pulling him tighter and downing a can of beer. She wanted to get drunk before she had to be sober.

"Understood but that is not the problem. I have more than one mission. I need to pick something up."

"Well then get it first, or her whichever works better. Besides what is it you need to pick up."

"I am not exactly sure. I am not even sure where it is. My memory has not been perfect lately." Sousuke ran hand through his hair.

"Well then do you at least remember what happened to your knee?" Mao pointed at the lump in his pants. Kurz poked it causing Sousuke to wince in pain.

"Please refrain form doing that." He asked Kurz.

"Sure but only if you tell us what happened."

Sousuke narrowed his eyelids annoyed.

"You did not give me time to even answer."

"Well then hurry and tell us before I kick it." Mao said finally releasing her young friend.

"Well while I was checking for danger at Chidori' I decided to run some tests. When I returned to examine them she snuck up on me. We engaged in combat. After causing significant to Chidori's apartment she hid in the kitchen and shot through the counter into my knee. I leapt over before falling and we ended up guns pointing towards each other. I discovered that a grenade I threw had injured her. After taunting me I discovered it was her in another costume. I was relieved to know the man she had been posing as was really dead. We ended up exchanging words and information. After cleaning ourselves up we headed to my apartment."

"Woah Sousuke wait until Angel hears. I heard Wraith was hot." Kurz whistled at the end of his statement. He received a boot in his face knocking him and the chair onto the floor. "Shut up and let him finish!" Mao shouted at him.

"In my apartment is where we actually exchanged the information. After that I let her leave but followed her and came back here. I decided to help you all. Also she told me something peculiar. You all know of the incident in Helmajistan at the lost village between Bamian, Sheberghan, and Meymaneh." Sousuke looked at them both. They each had a surprised look on their face and moved away a little worriedly.

"Well actually we were told by Tessa. She only told us, Clouzot, Mardukas, and Wraith was one of the first to know. We weren't supposed to mention it because exact details were unknown." Kurz said.

"Yeah, we didn't know exactly what happened but the whole town went up in one blast. It we don't know exactly what happened but it had to do with you. You took out the entire village in a single blow. How the hell did you do it. They said it was some kind of bomb."

Sousuke looked down placing one hand on the back of his neck.

"It was a special bomb in experimentation phase. IT is able to take out a large specified area without any radiation after affects or anything of the sort. It had the ability to be as powerful as a nuke without he drawbacks. It is a samples of latent black technology. Only one way to set it off has been figured out so far."

"How?" Mao asked looking at him concerned.

"That is not important. The event was my fault but I do not dwell on it and neither should you." He looked at her seriously. She looked at him her expression one of concern still. Finally she smiled and laid back onto the bed placing her arms behind her head.

"Okay okay. But next time we go to Japan you have to treat us."

"Do not always treat you?" He raised an eyebrow.

Kurz and Mao laughed. "Yeah I guess you're right."

"Speaking of which it sounds like Kaname's going to kill you when she sees her place." Kurz said as he caught his breath.

"Yeah. She's going to be pissed having been kidnapped again. And going to a destroyed home won't be pleasing. Maybe she'll stay at your place."

Mao, and Kurz laughed at Sousuke's expression.

"Well let's hang out while we can before we go on our mission then send our soldier here home." Mao said patting his shoulder. Kurz gave a thumb-up and Sousuke nodded. After all tomorrow was going to be very dangerous.
