"No!" Izuku stared in horror at their apartment wall. "Why would you do that?"
Katsuki grinned widely at his blushing boyfriend which only served to expand the flush of his skin to his ears and neck. "Don't ya like it nerd?" Izuku covered his face and turned toward the wall. Katsuki huffed a little. "Are you crying?"
"No." It came out muffled against his palm and Katsuki outright laughed. He approached him delicately before enveloping him from behind, sinking his nose into the curly crown on his head and inhaling. "How did you-"
"Make it so big?" Katsuki said suggestively into the shell of Izuku's ear. Izuku was warm against his front, smelled of spring and flowers, of home. Izuku pushed away from him and turned to mock glare at his poor joke. He jabbed a finger at the frame on the wall. "If you want me to take it down, I will." He meant it. He just thought it was a cute surprise, it was quite literally one of his favourite days.
Izuku came back under his arm and rested his head on his shoulder. The feeling of him against him was such a huge relief, his body unwound at the contact; he hadn't realised he was tensed up awaiting Izuku's reaction. God, he loved him. Izuku's arm came up around his lower back and squeezed slightly as they both looked at the picture.
Most of the frame was one picture, but under it were three newspaper articles. Katsuki hated the papers, the paparazzi, the people who told him constantly that he was a terrible hero until he wasn't. But he loved them for this.
In the large photo that Katsuki had gotten a print of, was Izuku and Katsuki. Staring at each other. Katsuki with a broad grin, Izuku with tears streaming down his face. In the foreground and background were all eyes on them, blurred because of the bokeh. They were twenty feet apart but they were the only two people who existed in that space. He loved it. The photographer had used a wide angle lens from one of the two cameras he had around his neck, and Katsuki had put a call out to the press for the photo. He didn't care that it stirred up proposal rumours.
The ring was in his bedside table.
They looked like they loved each other with every cell of their being, and he knew Izuku hated that he cried for everything, but Katsuki loved that he cried for everything. And he loved this photo.
The articles were their history together. Their first kiss for the paparazzi, Izuku on his toes to reach his lips. Another small one of them he had found of that date when Katsuki had told those men to fuck off. The photo was blurry, but they were laughing. And the last was that shocked photo, being caught by the paparazzi for the last time. When Katsuki realised he was wrong.
"You can leave it up." Izuku turned to look at him and kissed his jaw because he couldn't quite reach his mouth. Katsuki liked that too. He studied Izuku's face and narrowed his eyes.
"Yea?" He asked, still unsure. Izuku nodded and smiled.
"I like it." Izuku returned to gazing at them, a short timeline of their unintended romance. "But where are all the photos of you, shirtless, all bleeding and victorious?" His tone was so serious that Katsuki didn't catch the words the first time. Then he laughed so loud he lost his breath and they became a heap of giggles on the floor.
"You are such a fanboy." Katsuki climbed onto him and easily smothered his body with his larger one. He pinned him by holding his wrists and stared. Stared at the emerald eyed, floofy haired, freckled, beautiful man under him. Izuku was going to meet All Might today, and Katsuki was as nervous about it as if Izuku was meeting his father. Everyone loved Izuku, and suddenly, Katsuki was excited. "I just happen to love fanboys." And he kissed him with the intent to savour him.
The morning of July the 15th, Katsuki got out of their bed carefully at six am. He left to collect Izuku's present; managing to do so without rousing Izuku from sleep; then returned and got to work on breakfast. The smell of butter, bacon, eggs, pancakes, sausages, coffee all finally called Izuku into the kitchen. Katsuki placed the last of the crispy bacon onto the plates before he balanced it all to set the dining table. He thought it was ridiculous, their table meant for six when there were only two of them, but it worked perfectly now for the spread of food he had prepared.
Izuku watched him sleepily, rubbing his eyes and yawning. Looking every bit as cute as Katsuki remembered him being when he glimpsed through his store windows and decided to kiss him.
"What's going on?" Izuku finally pulled himself away from the archway and leaned now against the dining room chair. Katsuki could practically see his mouth watering.
"Whaddya mean?" Katsuki walked up to him and pulled him upright, his hands on either side of his face as he smiled down at him. "It's your birthday?"
Izuku's eyes widened. "Happy birthday, nerd." Katsuki kissed him on the mouth, Izuku's eyes still open in surprise before Katsuki sat him in a chair and disappeared to get Izuku's present.
He set the rather large box at Izuku's feet. He was relieved it hadn't gone wrong. The box was still intact. Izuku's eyes almost bulged as he looked at Katsuki, kneeling with the box.
"Oh my god. I thought you were going to propose." He laughed and Katsuki felt the excitement building inside him. He simply grinned and they both went still as the box whined . There was the sound of a nose sniffing and then small scratches. "Kacchan?"
"Izuku." Katsuki looked up at him. Izuku bent forward and loosened the big ribbon that held it shut. And there it was, a puppy. It yipped as it looked up. Brown and white, big brown eyes that looked eagerly at everything. A potato shaped corgi. He hopped onto his hind legs and the box almost tilted over. Izuku lifted him from the box and cuddled him, holding his face to the puppy's and laughing brightly.
"Thank you!" Izuku looked down at Katsuki who hadn't moved from his kneeling position on the floor. "You can get up now." The puppy made a jerky movement trying to get onto the table at the food. Izuku grabbed him a little tighter because puppies were wriggly and got loose easily, when his finger snagged on something.
Katsuki's heart clenched, he held his breath. He was sweating. Izuku looked at the shiny metal band tied to the puppy's ribbon collar. He blinked, then looked back down at Katsuki.
"Are you-" Izuku choked.
"Yes." Katsuki said immediately.
"Yes." Izuku responded without hesitation.
"I didn't ask the question." Katsuki grinned, a laugh bubbled inside of him.
"I do!" Izuku scrambled to the floor, the puppy ran free then immediately circled back to them.
"Nerd, I didn't ask the-" Katsuki laughed into his mouth because Izuku was kissing him. The puppy lept between them and clawed at their chests, lapping at their chins.
"Does he have water and food?" Izuku asked, hugging the puppy again, their legs tangled. Katsuki had put a bowl of water and food in the closet, hiding it really. He nodded, confused. Izuku grinned, stood, yanked him up, and Katsuki wobbled. "Where is it?" Katsuki opened the closet. The puppy immediately ran for it, and Izuku, seeing his opportunity, tugged Katsuki into the bedroom, shutting the door behind them.
"Oh." Katsuki laughed as Izuku kissed him. The taste of his toothpaste melded with his own morning coffee and he honestly never minded this. It meant he was the first thing Izuku saw. The door was shut. The puppy should be distracted for a bit.
Izuku pulled Katsuki to their bed by his elastic waistband and kissed him, pulling his face down to meet his lips as his fingernails dragged along his scalp the way he liked it.
Katsuki could never believe how lucky he was. That Izuku, this Izuku right against him was who he had known for so long and now, loved him back. For exactly who he was. And hadn't tried to change him, ever. Simply supported him in his decisions.
It made pressing his body against his so much sweeter. Izuku tasted like sleep and toothpaste, and he felt like home. He groaned into his mouth when Izuku wrapped a hand around him, squeezing through his pants. He was already so hard, he could feel the precome dampening his boxers. His hips jerked involuntarily and Izuku laughed, pulling him more flushly against him, his own cock hard on Katsuki's hip.
"I was gonna make this the dessert course." Katsuki laughed as Izuku rubbed against him with more urgency.
"We can have dessert later too." Izuku kissed him again. Katsuki yanked his t-shirt over his head as Izuku did the same under him, breaking their kiss for a brief moment before colliding again. The room was too hot, the sunbeam a solid block of light where it fell onto the carpet. Katsuki inhaled all he could, filling his lungs with his favourite thing, spring soap and Izuku's natural musk from being asleep.
"I love you." Katsuki murmured along his chest kissing a trail down Izuku's lithe body as he wriggled under him which aided Katsuki in removing his pants.
"I love y-" Izuku gasped and opened his legs as Katsuki lowered his mouth to meet his wet head where he tasted him, bitter and sweet. Katsuki kneaded his fleshy ass in his hands as his back arched, his head hitting the roof of Katsuki's mouth before hitting the back of his throat where he held him as long as he could. His eyes watered, his throat tightened; Izuku made fists in his hair and only then did he come up for air. Izuku's eyes were wide and dazed, his body completely boneless.
His hands scrambled along Katsuki's face and shoulders trying to pull him back up to his face, Katsuki chuckled as he crawled back on top of him. Before he settled his weight, he stretched for the bedside table for the little bottle of lube they kept handy. In a second, Katsuki felt the world tilt as Izuku somehow flipped him onto his back and straddled him.
"You're eager." Katsuki laughed as Izuku palmed his chest, grasping at any expanse of skin he could touch. His skin was charged with sensation, the sheets beneath him, Izuku's hot thighs against him, the air refusing to offer any reprieve with coolness. Izuku was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. He would never tire of looking at him, the way his curls bounced with any movement, his wide smile and intense freckles. His bright green eyes that looked at him like he was the only thing that mattered, his body that had become leaner with running together the past few months.
Katsuki was the eager one. He sat up and wrapped his arms around Izuku, trying to press as much of himself against Izuku that he could. He needed him. Izuku guided him to his hole, and carefully, Katsuki sank into him. His lungs were screaming for air, his heart thrashing inside him. Izuku's breath on his temple and cheek was as hot and fast as his own.
Slowly, Izuku moved his hips, Katsuki groaned against his throat as Izuku sucked him in. They made love in agonising intensity. Hands groping, mouths exploring, tasting each other's sweat. Katsuki's pleasure coiled inside his very core, he felt his heartbeat become irregular. He couldn't stop saying Izuku. A prayer, a hope, that the best person in the world would be even just a little around him for the rest of their lives.
When Izuku came on his chest, he memorised his expression before Izuku clambered off him and he made a mess on himself. They lay panting on the bed, collapsed and breathless, then burst into laughter; a persistent sniffing echoed under the door followed by scratching of claws.
"What are we naming him?" Izuku dragged his boxers back on before opening the door and hugging the puppy to his chest. Katsuki swiped at the mess they had made solely on him. trying to not let it leak to the bedsheets.
"He's your present, babe." Katsuki gave up and looked at the cuddly pair, unable to catch a proper breath just yet.
"I like Deku." Izuku murmured into the puppy's fur as the little thing nipped at Izuku's curls and ear. Katsuki felt his breath catch at the sound of the old name. The name he had called him to mean useless. Because he was quirkless and just...tailed after him when they were young.
"No-" He scrambled up immediately and the mess was made before he realised what he did. Izuku set the puppy down and it yipped excitedly, immediately running away to explore. Katsuki's guilt mounted and formed a lump in his throat. "I just mean, it's a terrible name- thing that I did to you." Katsuki tried and failed to dab the come off the sheets and gave up.
"I feel like it could be interpreted differently, you know?" Izuku took his hand and squeezed. "It sounds like you're saying I can do anything ." Fucking damn it. He looked so sincere. "I won't call him that if you don't want me to, but I think it's a great name."
Katsuki gave a little groan as he deliberated. "Sure." He finally said. "But you're also ridiculous."
Izuku tackled him, and smothered him with kisses, smearing more of a mess than before. Deku yelped happily as Katsuki pressed the stickiness between them. They would have to shower before they began the rest of their lives.
