The Whisperer

AN: I'm aware that the story is long. I probably should not have picked such a story as my first, I should have waited until I was better but even I did not expect it to take this long. It is unfortunately coming to a close.

-Chapter 55-

All that is left is the dome they could see in the distance. The transport part of the colony was easily destroyed with little effort. The debris that had appeared so far had been sent towards the sun so as not to cause harm to the Earth. With that finished his final goal lied ahead of him. He sped towards the large sphere. Security measures had become more of an annoyance rather than anything that would danger their lives. It was not long before they reached it. A single door left open as if inviting them in. They decided to accept it. Walking he held up the shot cannon.
"Readings of large amounts of energy are coming from here. The main generator may be located elsewhere in this structure. Labs and other rooms circulate this sphere. This may be where they researched much of their work."
"Either way we're destroying it."
Walking in, they moved around corners cautiously. Occasionally they'd walk by a stray staff member who unfortunately for them had to be silenced. Though there was space for AS to move in this place they hadn't come across any. Either they didn't like the idea of battles in this structure or all of them had been destroyed by him already. Either way was fine. Placing his hand on a wall it exploded a second later. Anon stepped over debris into the next room. Suddenly he felt the strange disturbance again but it did not bother him nearly as much. He blinked curiously. He felt two of them. Looking up he jumped through the ceiling a blanket of light keeping him from taking damage. He jumped up a clear 30 floors before having to land and jump again. They heard the occasional shout of surprise from staff or one of pain or death as they collided into them while ascending. Looking at his map he was still a fair distance from the top. Crouching he concentrated before leaping at an incredible rate. Finally he was there. A large room that took up 5 percent of the structure. A few large machines strewn the walls. Before him stood an original problem. Something he had to remove. Osiris sat patiently on the edge of a machine. Anon pointed the shot cannon in his position.
"Well Sagara. Who would have thought you'd come so far from almost dieing hours ago. It's a shame I could not get out there to stop you but I had to wait here."
"Surprising. Where is your wife?"
"What do you want with her?" Osiris stood from its seated position.
"I want nothing from her. But it's curious that you would let things come to this without ensuring her safety. Or have you failed to save her as well."
"Leave that alone. My wife is fine and nothing will be needed because you are not getting any farther. You threw my plans out of proportion but we have already come far enough for that to be insignificant."
"I'm going to stop you."
"Really? Are you even sure of what I'm planning to do?"
"Honestly I am not but it's not a problem."
Schneider chuckled releasing one of his 'wings' into a large chain gun. He fired a full five seconds before stopping. The bullets stood still across a sheet of iridescent light before fading. He noticed a spear coming out of nowhere heading for him. Looking toward Osiris he noticed another wing gone. Placing his hand out he forced the spear to hesitate before fully piercing his shield. He jumped back at it flew past his leg scratching it. Aiming he fired the shot cannon at Osiris. Another wing blocking it with his lambda driver another wing released and began firing small spheres at him. He ducked to block one and prepared to stop more when an explosion came from his back.
"What?"
"Sir, those small objects are explosive set to follow us and explode on contact or at close proximity."
Pushing off his hands he leapt high into the air. Osiris fired with the chain gun this time his bullets flowing in streams of light. Drawing his knife the bullets crashed against his shield as he came down upon Osiris. Just as he was about to plunge his knife into the cockpit of his enemy the wing that was previously a scythe appeared the block him. Looking to the side along with most of the weapons already out the damned spear was coming again. Jumping back the exploding balls, the chain gun fire, and the spear all came at him at once. Even worse more of Osiris's wings released but these one did not become conventional weapons. No they were extra lambda drivers. Osiris disappeared and appeared behind Anon. Sousuke knew he had to block both side of his body but was not sure if he could. The two lambda drivers flickered to life and began to drill against him along with Osiris's personal one. A huge battle of light seemed to pour out of Anon's back. In front of him he still had a set of spheres, and a spear heading towards him. Aiming at the weapons in front of him he released a breath he had not realized he held. A bullet shot forth an aura of light in front of it. It destroyed the explosives and spear. Turning around the three lambda drivers behind him had almost made it to do some serious damage. He fired aiming for one of the wings he destroyed it. He jumped back as the scythe came down. Chain gun fire continued again and even with the lambda driver they could not hit him.
"See Sousuke… look how well you're doing. Still don't believe in what we have done? Don't think I haven't seen you outside of that AS as well."
"And Col. He shows signs of similar features."
"I don't want to explain."
"No problem." Punching with his left hand an invisible thing seemed to come out. Osiris held out its hand to block it. As if out of no where a large amount of light was clashing again his hand and flying around. When it stopped he could not see Sousuke's AS. Looking up the knife plunged into his face. Anon was still coming down having thrown one knife he pulled out another. As he was about to hit him again another wing released creating a large blanket. Standing on it the strange metallic cloth shot upward and tried to consume Anon. Trying to jump away his feet were stuck to the metallic shield.
"Well Sagara what do you think of this? All these weapons at my disposal."
Sousuke aimed his gun down and fired. The sheet shattered as the bullet flew down destroying Osiris's face. The machine stumbled back. Holding his hand out Osiris released light. A flick of Anon's wrist destroyed it. Osiris tumbled across the floor until it caught itself in a crouching position.
"How? This is what I had wanted but not like this. Why did you betray me Sagara? Why take such a perfect experiment and ruin it. If you had not left I would not have been driven to this. You are dieing slowly but that is not all. You've seen the beacons thrown upon the earth. Those are for receiving a signal and releasing a tremendous force. Like the lambda driver it can be manipulate for an endless amount of results. Unfortunately for you, dieing may be a problem for others as well."
"Why?"
"Sagara haven't you wondered why you are this way? What was the purpose of making you so powerful? So far whispered technology had been put into weapons that were machines. Making AS suits. Submarines, everything else but its source. You are a product of Whispered technology. Post-human Sagara. You can manipulate all forms of Whispered technology. Even interface with the Omni-sphere which was originally impossible for a non-whispered. You heal quickly; you're mind enables strange powers. Gauron was a result of our technology in restoring life with some of the results from your experiments we made him more powerful but not nearly as good as you. He was not post-human. I wanted to use you to make a better world. I still try even though you are gone but humans are so foolish and things have come to requiring force. And you… you are now dieing, you will probably die soon for being a fool who could not wait to settle his own ambitions. But my own pride kept me from telling you sooner, and instead attempting to destroy you."

Sousuke sat quietly in his cock-pit taking in everything he had just heard. Considering things in such a light made him feel foolish. Yes Schneider had made the mistake of not telling him but perhaps his wanting things simple caused a problem. The people he killed may have been right. Yes they had prisoners but sometimes bad things had to be done to make something better. Sousuke now felt unsure of himself than anytime before. Was he really the enemy? He was trying to save everyone and things but he ended up almost destroying it. Destroying.
"For what reason did you attack Japan causing so much damage with that large cannon?"
"I'll admit I'm not perfect Sagara and I've made mistakes. As I said I am annoyed with humans. It is not on purpose but having been around people that could not match my IQ is one of the reasons I joined Amalgam. My search for the source of being whispered was me trying to locate a way to help more people. Instead the Whispered have whispered into your ear making you what you are. I always wanted to say that. I thought it might seem clever with the circumstances." Schneider coughed while laughing. Anon still stood silently gun pointed. If everything he was saying was true. Could he really be considered the enemy? He could be lieing but Sousuke did not feel he was.
"You've seen it before. The floating plain of light where you see all those people. They are whispered. They're knowledge is being created and you can use it all as if made specifically for you. I shouldn't have taken so long to tell you. Now we have nothing left. Perhaps I could return to earth and finish my feeble existence."

"Sorry old man!" A silver blue AS appeared behind him.
"Col!" Schneider shouted preparing to turn. His arm-slave was sliced in half at the stomach.
"I have other plans than just waiting for everything to return to normal. I will not waste being whispered. In fact right now everything is already starting. Soon the power will be mine. I will become as you like to call it post-whispered. In my current state I can still beat Sagara." Stabbing into the head he flung it into a wall and kicked the legs away.
"You're wife is dead. She had horrible blood." The silver blue AS sheathed its sword then turned to Anon who was now pointing his weapon at him.
"Well Sagara this is it." Holding out its hand Sousuke was taken by surprise as a powerful force sent him back. Another AS appeared beside him. The AS reminded him of another. It was different though. He knew it had more power than before.
"Hello Mr. Sousuke Sagara."
Sousuke's eyes widened hearing Leonard's voice.
"I am going to accompany this man to complete our goal. I will retake Kaname and we will do as we please." Leonard's voice sounded exceedingly arrogant. Punching Anon 'Belial 2'prepared to attack again perhaps finish him but was grabbed. Light began to travel through Anon.
"They foolishly give you a second chance and you waste it. I almost feel like I would enjoy killing you." Sousuke said through clenched teeth. Light burst from Belial 2 slamming Anon deeper into the wall.
"Don't get cocky Mr. Sagara." Belial 2 shook its wrist before disappearing. Col's 'Cypher' nodded before vanishing. Anon calmly pulled itself up looking around. Sousuke shook his head surprised by his uncharacteristic remark a few seconds ago. He was angrier at the mention of Kaname than anything else.
"Sir, are you all right?" Al asked.
"I will be fine. For now we have to stop them."
"I agree. But we have taken serious damage and will not be able to chase them fast enough."
Sousuke was about to leave when he received a signal.
"Sa-ga...ra."
Turning Sousuke could see the upper body of Osiris lieing helpless on the floor. Walking over he picked it up.
"SagaracoughI apologize for what I've done. Now that cough my wife is dead there is nothing left for me. Please stop them from fulfilling my foolish ambition. I'm sorry for what I did to you cough. Heh, this feels so cliché. Like out of a bad movie."
"I will stop them. I have to."
"Good. I trust you. This place is going to explode soon. I will alter the course so that it moves towards the sun. You have become the source of my ambition. Please… place me over there."
"Roger." Anon carried the body and dropped it by a console. The body of Osiris opened up and Schneider limped out.
"Hold on. They have a head start on you but if we do this right I can speed you up."

While Schneider worked at the console he gave orders for Sousuke to complete. Sousuke hurried feeling every moment as a waste. Putting things together and moving things even going outside he prepared everything. Finally he was ready. While standing in space atop the structure he saw they had been moving farther from Earth. He cursed inwardly. He better move much faster if he was going to make it in time.
"Sagara, first we're going to replace some parts on your AS with a few from mine."
Sousuke nodded and opened his cock-pit.
"Actually you'll be working from up there."

Belial 2 and Cypher were both entering the atmosphere now. As they descended they could see the beacons floating and rotating in the air, having already been activated. In the distance they could see another large structure descending as if a god from the heavens.
"That's where we're going." Col said pointing to the lowering structure.
"Excellent. I can't believe you were all doing this behind my back."
"You were too concerned with a woman then. Schneider did not want to tell you because of the way you did things. He's dead now."
"His loss." Leonard grinned arrogantly as they altered their course to fly towards the large thing. He had to admit it was refreshing to be back on earth. Looking down he spotted Kaname's apartment as they flew over it. Too bad he had to finish this before he could see her. It was not long before they reached the structure. It looked strange like it was created by an alien. They had no doubt what would be on the news tomorrow. Going in Cypher lead the Belial 2. The trip was not a long one because Col knew the way to their goal. Soon they came across a large door. Placing the robotic hand against it light traveled through until the door slowly began to open. They both watched with their own expression of amusement as a large room containing chairs and stations were revealed.
"I'm guessing that's where we put the AS and that is where we go." Leonard pointed toward a set of large coffin like structures and on the floor machines resembling the TDD-1's TAROS unit for the Omni-sphere. Cypher nodded before walking over to one of the AS stations. Turning he backed his AS into it letting it rest against it.
"Why do you have things for arm-slaves in here?" Leonard asked raising an eyebrow. He had been told about it but never asked what the point was.
"Arm-slaves are extensions of the human body. They are our ultimate weapons. We can't get here without one but I haven't seen the point in these either. But anyway let's begin."

Sparks flared as Sousuke finished replacing and altering the final part. Inside his cock-pit he checked how Anon adapted to having the Osiris parts. According to Al it was going quite well.
"How is it?" Schneider called from below. Standing up Sousuke checked his maneuverability. The machine looked the same except for maybe a few internal parts and the fact that he now had a two of the wings Osiris had.
"With those you have a gun alteration of your choice, an extra lambda driver. Good luck. Now get to the point I told you."
"Roger." Flying up Anon exited through an open hatch in the ceiling. Looking back he had moved farther from the earth. He walked across the outside and stopped when he was pretty much aimed almost at earth.
"I'm in position."
"Excellent. Good bye Sagara." Anon jumped off speeding towards the earth. Behind him the large sphere blew up creating a massive explosion and shock wave. Luckily it was already a great distance from earth. Turning around a large iridescent force shot from Anon sending debris towards the sun. Small ripples of light poured from his feet as he road the shock wave of the explosion.
"Sir, prepare to jump in 5…4…3…2…"
Anon crouched then jumped as the range of the explosion ended. A flash of light burst as Anon disappeared leaving what seemed like an after image as it sped towards earth.
"Sir we are moving almost the speed of light. We should reach earth in about two minutes."
Sousuke nodded looking at his screen. They were still a good distance from the speed of light but moving very fast. If he hadn't done that the trip may have taken him days with the damage to his AS. If he had chased Cypher and Belial he would have lost to them or maybe not even make it to Earth properly.
He hoped what Schneider said was true because he would need a lot to take out both of them at once. And even then to stop whatever they were planning. He doubted he would ever be back on Earth for rest. Apparently this was the end.

Kaname sat playing various games with some of her friends. They slept over the night before and now they had played board games and watched movies and had 'girl talk'. Of course they still had a lot to do for the day planning on having as much fun as they could for the summer. Also Kaname's erstwhile guard would be back soon, or so she hoped. Then she had promised herself to spend a lot of time with him. He had to come back. He had made a promise to come back no matter what. And she had promised him he could. Rolling the dice she moved the piece across the board. Suddenly a pain tore through her causing her to drop her piece mid-way.
"Kana-chan what's wrong?" Kyouko asked running over to check on her friend. Kaname clutched her head violently as the mysterious pain racked her body. Kaname clenched her eyes closed wondering what was happening. Opening one eye she tried to speak but couldn't.
"Somebody help!" They heard a call from another room. One of the girls going to listen heard something about a young woman grabbing herself saying she was in unexplainable pain.
"Wh-What's go-going on!" Kaname forced out wishing the pain would end.

Tessa was on the floor gripping herself in pain. Mardukas crouched beside her trying to figure out what was wrong. Tessa could not tell him what it was except that it hurt badly.
"Tell the infirmary to get ready, we're bringing the Madam Captain." Mardukas called as he picked her small slender body up and began rushing towards the clinic aboard the Danaan. When they got there a red-haired young man was acting the same way as her. Medics headed around and checked both trying to figure out the source of their troubles. Tessa opened one eye and peaked at Mardukas. He felt horrible seeing the helpless expression on her features.
"Mardukas…y-you take..ch-charge of the…su-sub..marine." She said before going back to trying to absolve her own pain. The doctor came back with sedatives to help calm them and relieve the pain.

"Wonderful." Leonard and Col floated through a world of light. There they could see all the people who were originally sleeping grabbing themselves in pain.
"What's happening to them?" Leonard asked turning towards the naked young man beside him.
"They are giving us their power. The knowledge and will they possess." Leonard nodded at Col's words until he saw something that bothered him. He saw his sister and the woman he loved both in similar pain. He stepped forward wanting to check on them.
"What are you doing?" Col asked glaring at him.
"Those are… I can't do this to them."
"Why not? It will be over soon and they will remain alive, in perfect condition."
"Yes but…" Leonard stared at them realizing there were consequences to power and sometimes loved ones had to suffer. "Fine."
"After this we will activate this and then we will have things as we see fit."

"What do you plan on doing?" Leonard turned asking his accomplice.
"At first power and destruction of the world felt cliché. I do not want to rule the world but I do want more power. Helping the world would become too complicated. I'm not sure but after this we will have plenty of time to think about it."
"I see…" Leonard stared at the writhing forms of his sister and woman he claimed to love. He was starting to feel bad but knew it would be over with no other consequences.
"What about Sagara?" He asked a look of suspicion of his features.
"He will not be a problem. After this we will be unstoppable."
"Why did you choose to share this power?" Leonard's question got him a grin from Col.
"Power by yourself is no fun. But don't worry if you betray me I can easily fix the situation."
Leonard grinned back then turned back to the people surrounding them.
"Not much longer now." Col said relishing the thought of their next step.

They had finally made it. Falling right through the atmosphere they spotted the large structure and floating beacons.
"They are most likely inside." Al said in a monotonous voice devoid of the human like nature he had been gaining.
"Most likely. Let's go!" Anon sped towards the large structure. Looking around they saw cameras and helicopters. Spectators from all around were watching. He also saw people scrounging about seemingly in pain.
"Al something feels strange. Like something is invading me."
"It could be the process Schneider spoke about."
"Perhaps." Sousuke returned to focusing on his destination. He lost it when a thought passed through his mind. An image. The image of a blue haired girl in pain. She was crying. His name was repeating itself in her mind. "Kaname." Feeling more pressure he hurried towards his goal

When he reached it he appeared to be locked out. Testing out Schneider's words he tried to get the large structure to open. As if by magic it opened at his will. Going in they followed tunnels towards the center. The feeling from before had vanished but not his worry for Kaname. He hoped he would have at least a little time to see her after this. Finally reaching the middle he was greeted by a large door. Placing his hand on it, it began opening for him. Inside he could not find the pilots but both AS were sitting inside large containers of some kind. Sousuke went to ask what it all was but for some reason he felt he knew. Aside from what Schneider had told him. Suddenly Belial moved flinging its hand out Anon jumped back as an invisible force missed and damaged the wall behind him. Jumping again he blocked a slash from the large Katana that Cypher carried.
"So you finally made it Sagara. This is going to be fun." Col said as his Cypher took up a battle position.
Anon fired the shot cannon at Cypher who easily blocked it. Once again Belial 2 was behind him without his noticed. Flipping backwards Belial struck him in the air causing him to hit the wall. Standing up Anon faced the two opponents before him.
"Obviously simple tactics will not work."
"It seems so. Can you hold it that long?"
"It will not be difficult."
Belial leapt forward first. The attack smashed against iridescent light. Suddenly Cypher jumped in adding to the light show. Both As kept pushing against the light based energy when suddenly a powerful wave slammed into their backs sending them against the wall. Turning they saw Anon had gotten behind them.
"How? We were just fighting you." As Col asked the wing from Osiris returned to Anon's side.
"Clever." Cole said pointing his arm out. Along with the weapon fire form his arm gun he used the lambda driver. Anon disappeared the attack completely missing him. Belial flew back again as Anon's knee smashed into its face. Cypher kicked Anon before it had time to recover or for Sousuke to defend himself. Flying back Sousuke's arm-slave destroyed a few of the stations. Anon prepared another attack when suddenly energy prevented him from reaching his opponent's. Along with the pieces of the structure surprisingly slamming into him he had been caught off guard. After recovering he saw his opponent's had been the source of everything. Obviously whatever they did was not for no reason. Pulling his shot cannon the other adjusted itself into rifle. Firing his gun and the wing rifle at the same time two flashes of light released. Slamming into his opponents they were both moved back and pressed against the wall. Looking to wonder how bullets had worked so well Anon was before them adding to the attack. Both AS disappeared moving behind Anon who flipped forward moving away from them. Catching himself against a wall he just barely ducked as an invisible slice pierced the air. Looking Cypher had decided to use its sword properly. The wing aimed again while he aimed his gun. Firing only the gun released a bullet towards the enemies. Jumping back Anon jumped through the whole in the wall the wing had made. The two AS quickly followed after him. Running as fast as he could Anon ran down the tunnel. In here he had less of a chance against them. He fire back while running away his attempts proving to be nothing but a waste of ammo. Suddenly Cypher was in front of him. He slammed into the AS rather than stopping causing them both to slide across the floor he leapt off it continuing his escape. He was mid-way by Belial who sent him back with a flash of light. Turning he brought out his arm-blade to block against the Cypher's sword. He was caught again as Belial took advantage and kicked him further form his goal. Anon slammed against the ceiling before landing on its hands and flipping back into a fighting stance. Breathing deeply he once again felt that he was in a losing fight.

Kaname sat breathing deeply. Her friends surrounded her each doing whatever they could to assist her. She had a glass of water in her hand as well as a blanket around her shoulders. She felt a type of fatigue as she sat there her eyes barely able to stay open. Her friends sat quietly for the most part waiting for her to recover enough to say something. They would have had her in an ambulance had she not spoken against it. She had seen something, someone. Two people standing over them. Yes them she saw many others like her there. She even recognized the two figures looming above them. So what was it? She felt something else as well. Something different she had been feeling for awhile. Closing her eyes she thought of Sousuke. He had left again with nothing but a letter. The letter had been reassuring but she was not sure if she could trust it. The world was becoming paranoid with the recent events that had been happening. From what she had been told those large things from before had been flying and another large things had appeared in the sky. What had happened to Sousuke that gave him such a key role in everything? She really didn't care. She embarrassingly admitted to herself she would like to be in his arms again to feel his warmth, to look in his eyes right before falling asleep beside him.
"Where are you Sousuke?" She said in a low voice. Suddenly she felt distant. Her eyes went blank as she stared into nothingness. Looking she saw something else. Two large figures before her. They were arm-slaves. And she was where. Looking around she realized she was in the position of another AS. By the looks of it the losing one. Looking deeper she saw him. "Sousuke."

Sousuke blinked rapidly. Had he been dreaming or did he just hear his name being spoken. Looking around he saw nothing but the two enemies approaching.
"Sousuke."
There it was again but he recognized it. "Chidori?"
He lost his thought as his opponents came at him.

"No!" Kaname blurted out. All her friends looked giving her a concerned and suspicious expression.
"Kaname are you ok?" Kyouko asked moving closer.
"I'm fine Ky." Kaname said warily still partially somewhere else.
"What was that just now?"
"Oh. I was… just helping someone." She said collecting herself and smiling.
Kyouko looked at her curiously puzzled by her friend's statement.
"Are you sure you're okay?"
"Yes. Now why don't you guys go home? I'll clean up and see you later."
"But Kana-chan…"
"Kyouko…"
Nodding her friends did as she asked but deciding they would help her clean up some first. Holding her head Kaname locked he apartment then trudged to her bed. Lieing down she closed her eyes.

This was it. He was going to die for not acting. Closing his eyes he saw the image of Kaname. Suddenly she screamed something. Opening his eyes he saw the attack of his opponents about to destroy him. His eyes lit up literally, as light exploded from Anon's form. Both AS were sent flying back unable to regain themselves from the force for another five seconds.
"Sir are you alright?" Al asked a wide-eyed Sousuke.
"That was not me."
"I don't understand."
"That last attack wasn't me."
"That does not make sense."
"It's alright. Even now I'm acting like an idiot. I'm finally ready Al."
"Uh… roger."
Both Belial 2 and Cypher lifted themselves up.
"How did he?" Leonard asked breathing deeply in his cock-pit. He was starting to remember his battle with Sagara right before he had taken Chidori back. They had both erupted in a burst of power. He had seemed lacking since then. Now what that was, was not the same it as before felt different.
Belial 2 leapt up and gracefully made its way over to Anon. Disappearing it moved in a flash. Cypher reached out to stop him but failed. Belial 2's lambda driver lit his body up as he went to attack Anon.
"I will not lose again." Leonard said as he approached Reaching out a large hand shot from Anon's catching Belial 2 halfway. Leonard struggled erratically his usual cool demeanor breaking again.
"What?"
"I'm sorry Tessa." Sousuke closed his eyes the image of the silver haired girl flashing in his mind.
Closing his fist the hand became a ball that swallowed Belial 2. The sphere turned black before exploding. Belial 2's body shot out bouncing against the wall in broken pieces. Elsewhere a young captain wept from a thought that had just crossed her rmind. Cypher drew its sword again moving its head slightly as a piece of Belial 2 flew past it.
"How foolish. Such an anti-climactic end for him. Oh well. Sagara it's time we finished this. I have been waiting for this for a long time."
"I agree."
To start it off bullets shot from the wing's now Gatling form and Sousuke emptied the shot cannon. Slicing waves from Cypher made contact and split apart with the bullets. Everything exploded in a flash of light. When they could see again aside form the destroyed area which reached far enough to show the sky the piece was falling apart.
"What do you plan on doing Col?" Sousuke asked reloading his gun.
"What do you think?"
"I'm unsure. There is not much to do with such a power."
"You'll see when the time comes. How about we make a wager? Winner take all. The fate of the world depends on this."
"It's not a problem."
Both AS disappeared meeting as the center point of there attack. The pressure form outside pulled them into the sky and out of the structure as they exploded against each other. Rainbow colors and light flashed as they ascended the sky. Anyone below who was able to see them only saw a fireworks show in broad daylight.
Slashing Cypher took of a piece of Anon's shoulder armor. Anon in turn fired into his chest. Cypher moved causing damage only to his leg. Moving up they continued to beat each other. Launching straight up light shot forth from each. Soon they had reached the peak of the structure. Flying through the top into it Cypher disappeared. Following it Anon soon regained vision of it as it rushed downward deeper into the large structure.
"This is it Sagara this is where we see who is the best?"
Flying down darkness began to consume them. Sousuke began to feel lighter as he moved deeper in. He felt as they passed some checkpoint or boundary.
"Al where are we?" He asked but no response came. Going deeper he felt as if the world was slipping away. Below him he could see a single drop of light. Moving closer he touched it. The small speck exploded into a large world of light. Looking around he stood between the sky and water. As he stood upon the water he looked up able to see sky stretching endlessly. But it was not the sky he knew. It was ethereal and colorful rather than the usual blue. Even the water he stood on was unusual. Wait water.
Examining himself he realized he was no longer in his AS. He stood by himself. Or so he thought. He noticed rippled bounce against his and he looked up. In the distance stood Col.
"Here we are Sagara."
"Where?"
"The place where we can do anything with just a simple thought. This is where we will end it."
"…" Sousuke stared back curious as to how this was all happening. Col stepped forward holding out his hand. What seemed like a stick of light formed in his hand. As it lengthened he realized it was a sword made of light. No design or pattern or actual figure just its purpose. Col did not hesitate as he slashed. It passed Sousuke with the sound of a bell. Time seemed to move slower for both of them here. Understanding Sousuke held out his hand. As if by magic Sousuke summoned his own faceless weapon. He fired forcing Col to end his clam stride. Ripples and V shapes swam across the water as he fired and Col moved in for close slashed. Sousuke jumped away trying to keep a distance. Finally one of them hit. Sousuke closed one eye as the blade cut across his cheek. A large exaggerated crimson line tore from his face and flowed back before staining the water and air. Col slashed from where he stood a slicing arc heading for Sousuke. Aiming he fired right down the middle. The image of Col faded into the water. Sousuke scanned the water looking for his opponent. Suddenly he felt presence above. Looking up Col levitated his attacked prepared. His are was nothing but a blur as it arced in front of him. Sousuke jumped away from the area of attack. The water that had been hit shot up creating a large canyon before the water filled it again. Looking up Sousuke saw Col repeat the action and he jumped away again as wave after wave of water shot up. Not wanting to dodge anymore Sousuke turned and leapt towards Col. He fired as he approached forcing Col block. Preparing to counter Col did not see as Sousuke appeared behind him. Sousuke fired through Col's body. Blood shot form his body yet no wound was made. Blood rained into the water for a few moments before stopping. Col faced Sousuke closing his eyes. Out of nowhere a figure of light appeared in front of Sousuke and began to reach into him. Sousuke gripped the arms but to no avail as it reached painfully deeper. Is he taking over me? It feels like he's invading my being. Sousuke in a rush of raw emotion pulled himself from the arms. The figure of light came after him again. Another appeared stopping it. Both figures mixed and explode din a flash of light. Not even waiting for their eyes to adjust they came at each other. They entered an elegant dance as gun fought blade in this ethereal realm. Each one pushing his own ambitions at the other striving to fulfill them and come out victorious. And in all that it ended. Sousuke stood with a sword through his body. Col stood a mark where he had been shot making it visible.
"Good job Sagara."Col said as he fell as he began to fall. Grinning evilly he fell forward his body becoming physical rather than part of the ethereal world. His wound became visible as well as his clothes and body and blood. Soon his body faded away. Blood dripped form Sousuke's mouth as he watched his opponent disappear. It had all ended so simply. Letting himself fall back his body slowly descended until he was lying on top of the water as if it were the ground.
"I'm dieing. What to do now? He said the winner gets to change things to his will. But I don't want anything." Closing his eyes Sousuke felt himself start to disappear. This was it. This was the end of everything. His battle, and his life. He had served his purpose and was no longer needed.

Suddenly he felt something warm glide softly across his cheek. Before he could open his eyes something warm pressed against his lips. Opening his eyes he saw the source of his happiness. Her blue hair falling like water falls around him. Her brown eyes carrying a mythical glow. Her naked body as…naked body. Sousuke eyes shot wide as he realized what was happening. He tried to sit up but was too exhausted to move.
"Chidori…" He said weakly.
"Yes?" She said while smiling warmly at him. He felt his heart fly and sink at that smile.
"Are you really…?"
"Yes, I'm here." She said taking his hand.
"I'm tired and am starting to lose feeling. I am unsure of how I even entered here."
"It's alright. You'll be okay now."
Lifting his head she placed it upon her lap. Sousuke closed his eyes feeling a calmness ease into him.
"I miss you." She said brushing his hair with her fingers.
"I miss you too." He said unconsciously.
"You still have something to do."
"I know. I will not be able to come back though. I'm sorry."
"I forgive you."
Opening his eyes again he tried to sit up. With her helping him he was barely successful. Bringing his hand up he touched her cheek.
"I love you."
"I love you too." She moved closer to him closing her eyes. Sousuke kept his open not wanting to miss any second he could to look at her. The feel of her lips was as pleasant and exciting as ever even here.
"I can't stay." She said slowly standing up.
"I know. You should go then."
"Okay. Goodbye Sousuke."
"Goodbye Kaname." He watched as the figure faded away. What now? Closing his eyes he remembered how things should be.

Outside the beacons began to revolve and spin hastily. A strange light traveled up curves and marks on the bodies as it moved faster. The large structure that had come out of the sky began rotation. Energy shot form it hitting one beacon then shooting to another. This continued. All around the world the lights traveled hitting every beacon now that they had become airborne. The sound of wind, and lights filled the air. Everyone watched din awe at the beautiful yet terrifying sight. The light crept forth swallowing the people slowly even as some ran away.Not making it more then a few feet. Soon the world was enveloped in this mysterious light.

And then it was gone. People stood around looking for any sign of the unknown flying creations but they weren't there. No sign of them existed at all. They all felt a strange force in their heads every being on the planet. They felt as if they were being told to move on to continue with their lives. No one argued or complained. People looked around and spoke none speaking of it. Deciding to leave it a mystery they all went about their daily business.

Elsewhere a young woman lies asleep in her bed with small smile on her face and a tear on her eye.
