The Jurassic Loud House
Chapter 7: Desolation of the Louds: Part 1
Rescued by her Petry, Lucy is aided by a group of Pteranodons on a foreign island. Lincoln and Rexy deal with the threat of another apex predator. Morag makes a plan with one of her subordinates, Kash Langford, in order to put Lincoln and Rexy down once and for all.
Last time we saw our beloved Loud sisters, they were planning on saving their brother from the clutches of the corrupt and villainous Morag. However, their plans to save him were horribly thwarted when some mysterious jets. When the jets came through, Lucy's Pteranodon, Petry, who was flying above the Louds, instinctively got out of their way. As of now, he is the only confirmed victim here to still be alive. Seeing as to how the people he cared about (most notably his owner) were possibly bombed to death, he felt instant regret for not helping in some way rather than flying away from the jets like a coward. But then again, you can't blame him, since it would have been one fragile Pterosaur against an army of military jets equipped with missiles. Regardless, he knew his main priority was at least saving his owner he had bonded with. Eyeing the wreckage, he immediately swooped down into the water to save her! Once he was underwater, he saw Lucy, who was unconscious. Unfortunately, he did not see any of the other Loud sisters or their dinosaurs, but in the heat of the moment, all he cared about was saving Lucy. Using his talons, he picked her up, took her out of the water, and flew her to the nearest island there was.
This island was a different one than the one Lincoln and Rexy found themselves on. As Petry flew with Lucy in his talons, he came across a large mountain area over a river. As he flew, he noticed there were other dinosaurs that inhabited this island. Dinosaurs of all kinds ran and chased each other across the open fields. Something that caught Petry's eye was a Ceratosaurus bite into a Parasaurolophus. It did not take long for the herbivore to succumb to the wounds, and the theropod began devouring the raw meat it had won. If Lucy saw this, even she would have deemed it a horrible sight, but Petry accepted this as the natural way of life in the dinosaur kingdom. However, when he noticed that other dinosaurs existed on this foreign island, he couldn't help but wonder if there were more Pteranodons to help him protect his owner. Eventually, Petry carefully placed Lucy on an abandoned, empty nest fit for a Pterosaur his size. He then perched himself on the edge of the nest and looked down at her. Lowering his head closer, he checked to make sure she still had a pulse and was breathing. Thankfully, he found out both were true. Wanting her to wake up, he started pecking lightly pecking at her, but Lucy remained in her unconscious state. Becoming increasingly worried and desperate, Petry started squawking out into the sky, hoping to receive some help. In other regions of the mountain, other Pteranodons looked over at Petry. Recognizing this was a cry for help, they all flew over to him and perched themselves on the edge of the nest with Petry, all looking down at the Loud girl. There were five Pteranodons present here, Petry included. One of the other Pteranodons gave Lucy a sniff, and when he did, its eyes went wide, recognizing this was one of the prophesized members of the Loud family. Petry, wanting to keep her warm in the night, settled into the nest with Lucy and placed his one wing over her. Following his lead, the other four Pteranodons did the same and each placed a wing over Lucy to keep her warm over the cold night. This was also pretty convenient since it was starting to rain. Even with the pouring rain, Lucy was kept perfectly warm and dry with Petry and the other Pteranodons protecting her against the elements.
After the long and rainy night, it was finally sunup, and Lucy, after being unconscious, had finally awakened with a gasp. No, this was not just her saying the word again like she usually did.
"I…I'm alive…", Lucy questioned. "What how did I even survive…?", she clasped her aching head. After a quick look-around, she saw she had been sleeping in a large nest with Pteranodons all around her! However, there were two things to ease her fear, one of them being that the Pteranodons were all covering her with their wings. She also knew one of them had to her Pteranodon, Petry. Given her bond with him, she saw he was the Pteranodon who had his head laying next to her. "Petry…you awake?", she asked in her usual monotone voice, although there was some emotion behind it.
Feeling her touch, Petry woke up and when he saw Lucy was alive and well, be stood up and started happily placing his head onto her as he let out some happy squawking noises, thankful she was still alive and be his side.
"Aw, I missed you, too", Lucy said in a happy tone.
Woken up by his noises, the other Pteranodons woke up as well. Seeing one of the members of the Loud family standing in front of them, they all took a shining to her.
"Wow, it seems you've made some friends here", Lucy smiled. She started to think a little. "Do you have any idea what happened to my sisters?", she asked.
In response, Petry gave out a sad noise, indicating he had no idea as to what their fates were.
"Morag…", Lucy's fists clenched.
Petry, noticing her anger and sadness, wanted to raise her spirits, thus giving out another squawk before lifting himself up into the sky a little, along with showing some indication to his open talons.
"Petry, I'm not in the mood…", Lucy replied. Her Pteranodon gave out another squawk, along with his relatives doing the same. "Well, I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to take my mind off things…"
Wanting to feel better in some way other than darkness and vampires, Lucy allowed Petry to wrap his talons around her arms and take her for a ride around the island. The other Pteranodons followed, and already, Lucy was starting to feel better, experiencing this foreign island's awe, especially with its own dinosaurs it had to showcase. They saw all kinds of dinosaur sights. Herbivores like Parasaurolophus and Corythosaurus running along the fields. There were even two Ceratosaurs fighting over a Parasaurolophus corpse, too! In the sky with them, there were other Pterosaurs flying around as well, ranging from Dimorphodons, Hatzegopteryxes, and Alanqas! Taking in the awe of these magnificent beasts, Lucy was already starting to feel at least a little bit better.
"Wow, this is…amazing…", Lucy commented with more emotion than usual.
Petry then gave out a light, happy squawk in agreement as him and the other Pteranodons kept flying.
Meanwhile, it was now the same time on the island Lincoln and Rexy found themselves on. The rain ceased and the sun came up, indicating that it was now morning. In the cave the two inseparable friends were in, Rexy was the first to wake up, and when she did, she noticed Lincoln was still asleep. Seeking to wake him up, she began tapping her nose on his head, letting out some snorting noises while doing so. Once she had done it enough, a groggy Lincoln finally woken up.
"Okay, okay, I'm up…", Lincoln chuckled as Rexy woke him up.
The Loud boy then stood up on his feet and stretched. Removing his balled up shirt from his chest, he looked at his bullet wound and saw that it had stopped bleeding and was on the path to being healed. After putting his iconic orange polo back on, Rexy stomped her feet on the ground as she stood up, letting out roaring yawn while doing so.
"Well, looks like you slept good", Lincoln commented.
Rexy let out friendly growl in agreement, right before her stomach started grumbling. She then looked out of the cave and snarled, eager to find another dinosaur to make a meal out of.
"Come on, let's see if we can find something for both of us to eat", Lincoln proclaimed before leading the way out of the cave.
Before Lincoln could walk out of the cave, Rexy placed her large foot in front of him, not wanting him to go any further for now. The Tyrannosaur then peeked out of the entrance to make sure there weren't any dangerous dinosaurs around. Once she confirmed it would be safe for Lincoln to press on, she continued walking out of the cave, and Lincoln followed.
"Rexy, you know I can take care of myself", Lincoln said, all be it in a friendly manner. "Tell you what, you go find food and I'll go find something to help set up camp for the night".
Rexy, liking this plan, gave another friendly growl before placing her head down to the boy's level and into his chest.
"Aw, I'll miss you, too", Lincoln hugged her snout.
The two then parted ways as they went off to find the proper necessities for the day.
Elsewhere on the island, there was a large lake with a variety of fish swimming through it. However, there was a noticeably large theropod creature present at this particular lake. Now, we've seen that there are other theropods similar to the Tyrannosaurus that exist on these islands, but this one was different. This creature was equipped with a large sail on its back, along with a long, crocodilian snout and much longer arms compared to any other known theropod. What made this creature even more intimidating was that it outsized not only a Tyrannosaurus Rex, but Giganotosaurus as well, which was thought to be the biggest land carnivore the world has ever seen, until now, that is. This theropod was none other than the Spinosaurus, and it was using its long snout to try and catch fish from the lake. Eventually, it was finally able to catch one, and when it did, it only took the Spino a few chews before swallowing the animal whole. But, right when it finished eating its meal, it heard a rustling coming from some bushed nearby. The Spinosaurus walked over to investigate the noise. This rustling was Lincoln searching for wood to use for a fire for the night.
The Loud boy was minding his own business, that is, until he heard a rustling coming from the forest around him. He looked up, and when he did, he saw something that made his heart drop into his gut. The Spinosaurus emerged from the trees and stared at Lincoln with its menacing jaw. The creature looked like something you'd see in some sort of nightmare. Its eyes glowed a bright white and the teeth of its jaw were covered in blood. It had obviously made some sort of kill recently. Instinctively, Lincoln backed away, but he remembered what Angus told him. He remembered that dinosaurs were bound to heed the order of not only him, but any member of the Loud family.
"Hey, easy now…", Lincoln said in a cautious tone while holding his hand up. "It's alright, I'm a Loud. I don't wanna hurt you…"
Contrary to Lincoln's expectation, the Spinosaurus let out an aggravated roar when he made clear his own family name and started chasing after him!
"Aaaah! I thought all dinosaurs were supposed to be friendly!", Lincoln screamed as he ran away.
Unfortunately for Lincoln, he could only run so far until he found himself in a corner, and the Spinosaurus was quick to catch up due to its much longer legs. Once again, Lincoln thought it was all over. Well, that was what he thought until he heard the angry roar of a dinosaur he immediately recognized. Then, coming in for the save, Rexy came running in and clamped her jaw around the Spinosaurus' neck. Yelping in pain, the Spinosaurus was pushed back a bit, but regaining its stability, it used its much larger arms to scratch the Tyrannosaur's face, causing her to let go of her grip. Rexy, recognizing that the Spinosaurus wanted to kill Lincoln, was going to defend the boy with her life. She was not going to back down from this fight until either the Spinosaurus was killed or the unlikely scenario of it walking away and abandoning the fight. The two apex predators circled each other before they both charged at each other!
During the fight, the mighty Tyrannosaurus Rex certainly put up a great fight, using her head to push the Spino back and earning some good hits by biting on her opponent with her teeth. But that did not change the fact that the Spinosaurus was the superior fighter. Compared to Rexy, it pretty much had everything going for it, such as a longer snout, much longer arms, and an overall larger body altogether. Because of this, the Spino was able to score more hits on the Rex than vise-versa, such as scratching her up and biting her multiple times. Lincoln, worried, tried to think of some way he could help Rexy win the battle. He knew that if the Spino were to strike her on her neck with her jaw, it would all be over. But, Lincoln, forcing his sense of logic and critical thinking to overcome his fear, he saw he was standing in front of a rocky mountain. He then had an idea, in which he climbed up the mountain while the two dinosaurs fought.
By the time he reached the top, there were several individually large rocks around him, and back on ground level, it seemed that the Spinosaurus was about to win the fight. Lincoln kicking some of the rocks down below him, caused all of them to fall down!
"Rexy! Get out of the way!", Lincoln yelled.
Rexy, seeing all the rocks about to fall down on her, ran out of the way as quickly as she could! The Spinosaurus was about to give chase, but before it could even take a single step, all the rocks came falling down upon it, crushing the semi-aquatic beast under the rubble! Lincoln then made his way down from the mountain and Rexy walked back over to the rubble, awaiting her owner's return. When Lincoln came down, Rexy shifted her head down and sniffed him to make sure he was okay.
"Rexy, I'm fine…", Lincoln chuckled. "Are you okay?", he asked as she shifted back to her normal position.
Rexy, in response, gave out a short, yet affirming roar, indicating that none of the wounds she sustained did too much damage.
"From now on, let's agree to never split up again", Lincoln smiled as he got on Rexy's back. "And we should probably get out of here. I've got a feeling that thing isn't dead…"
Rexy gave out an agreeing growl and promptly walked away with her iconic, large footfalls.
Once they walked away, from the rubble, the Spinosaurus' large tail thrashed out of the rocks, followed by the beast breaking out of its rocky imprisonment! Enraged by its humiliation against both the T. Rex and a mere, human boy, it let out a bellowing roar in extreme frustration. This Spinosaurus was a rather vengeful one, and now, it would not rest until both Lincoln and Rexy were dead for its humiliation.
Meanwhile, on Morag's large ship, the new Queen was enraged that Lincoln and Rexy had escaped. While she was angrily pacing around, her lead guard, Blaze, approached her.
"Queen Morag", he addressed her.
"Oh, what is it, you ninnie?!", Morag asked with anger. "You better make this quick! It's because of you that Lincoln and that stupid beast escaped!"
"What if I told you, I got you what you were looking for…?", he asked with a smirk as he pulled out a beacon of T. Rex DNA".
"Oh, my…", Morag grabbed the tube from him. "Is this…DNA from the Tyrannosaurus…?", she asked in awe.
"Indeed, my Queen. You see, I never let anything go under my nose".
"Oh, I wouldn't be so sure about that…", Morag said with arrogance. "It's because of you that Lincoln and the T. Rex escaped, and I will admit that was a setback that cannot be ignored…".
Then, before anyone could even think, Morag pulled out a gun and gunned down Blaze with a single shot!
"But…I gave you the DNA…", a wounded Blaze said.
"Yes, but you see, I wanted to ensure the death of the former King, and you ripped that away from me, and I cannot allow that to stand. Shame, I was really hoping you'd be there with us when the Indominus hatches…", she smiled before shooting Blaze one more time, killing him easily. "Let that be a lesson to any of you who dare fail me like that again!", Morag yelled at her intimidated guards.
The new Queen then went inside a room on the upper deck, where she conversed with one of her minions by the name of Kash Langford. While Henry Wu was her lead scientist, Kash was in charge of anything that had to with dinosaurs and technology that can be used on them, such as weaponry, sedatives to shock them, and most notably, mind control… This man had a snotty, bratty voice, wore glasses, and sported some tattoos on his arms as well.
"What do you want, Morag?", Kash asked her.
"It's Queen Morag to you, Kash", Morag rolled her eyes. "You remember when Lincoln and…Rexy, I believe her calls her, escaped our ship?"
"Yeah, how could I forget?", Kash replied.
"Well, how would you like to use your mind control devices to finish them off once and for all?"
"Ooh, now I like the sound of this…", Kash smirked.
"Good, now, I'm assuming you remember the island the Tyrannosaurus swam to". Kash nodded. "Now, allow me to explain", she began her narration. "Before the finished product of Jurassic World on Isla Nublar, Angus and I colonized several of these formerly uninhabited islands with dinosaurs. One this island Rexy swam to, there exists a species of apex predator known as the Spinosaurus…"
"Let me guess, it's loyal to that stupid boy, just like that stupid, overgrown whale from earlier?", the bratty Kash said.
"Actually, that is what makes this dinosaur special. After it being on this island for too long, this Spinosaurus believed that it was the King of the dinosaurs, meaning that it broke the bound over the rule of the wretched Louds! Realizing this, Angus deemed this creature too dangerous for Jurassic World, but he never wanted to kill it. 'Oh, they're innocent creatures, we can't just kill them…'", Morag mocked Angus again. "If you use your device on that dinosaur, you can command it to rid this world of Lincoln and his Rex forever! Ahahahahaha!" Kash smirked as Morag laughed evilly.
Back with Lucy, Petry and the other Pteranodons, the girl was already feeling better with Petry flying her around, giving her a good sight-seeing of all the dinosaurs on the island.
"Wow, I'm not gonna lie, I am feeling a little better…", Lucy said in a happy, yet monotone voice.
Petry gave a short, happy squawk in response. As they all kept flying, Lucy noticed below them was a Giganotosaurus who lay down on the ground around some trees. However, when it saw Lucy and Petry fly above them, it immediately stood up and roared at them, not in angry way, but in more of a demanding manner. It clearly needed them for something. When Lucy looked down at the Giga, she noticed her oldest sister, Lori, lay down on the ground unconscious in the form of a speck in her eyes from above. Lucy then figured out this was not just any Giganotosaurus, this was Zeb, the Giganotosaurus bonded to Lori.
"Petry! Down!", Lucy ordered her Pteranodon.
Petry, noticing the same thing Lucy noticed, immediately flew downward towards them as the other Pteranodons continued flying around the island, away from them. Once they landed and Lucy was released from Petry's talons, she immediately rushed towards Lori, hoping she was okay.
"Oh, no, Lori, what happened?", Lucy asked.
Zeb gave a sad growl in response, indicating he did not know what to do.
"She appears to still be alive", Lucy said while checking to see if she was still breathing. "I do have an idea that might help her, but it's going to make me regret my own existence even more than I already do…", she sighed before giving Lori mouth-to-mouth.
Yes, this was very weird, but when you're stranded in the wild with dinosaurs, you gotta do watch you gotta do to survive. After giving her mouth-to-mouth for ever a minute, Lori opened her eyes as she gasped for air. When she woke up, she was met with the concerned faces of Lucy, Petry, and Zeb all looking at her. She then rose her upper body up as she gathered herself.
"Lucy…is that you…?", Lori asked in a haze.
"Yes, it's me. I'm here", Lucy smiled.
"Oh, thank you!", Lori cheered as she hugged her little sister. "Even though you giving me mouth-to-mouth was literally disgusting".
"Well, I have a feeling I don't deserve all the credit", Lucy directed her attention to Zeb.
"Zebby!", Lori cheered as she hugged the snout of her Giganotosaurus. Zeb gave a calm, happy growl as he let his owner hug him.
"Lori, do you have any idea what happened to our other sisters?", Lucy couldn't help but ask.
Lori sighed with sadness. "No, the last thing I remember were those jets attacking us with their missiles. After that, everything just went black… Zeb, do you know what happened to them".
Zeb, recognizing the question, positioned himself upward and sniffed the air around him before roaring in one direction, then doing the same in the other.
"Wait, you're saying some of them survived?", a hopeful Lori asked. "Well, I guess you think maybe they did, but if they are they're scattered all around these islands".
"Lori, do you still have your phone?", Lucy asked.
"Of course, I do!", Lori replied as she pulled out her cell phone in a Ziplock bag. "I always make sure I keep this thing safe. If I could get service on this thing, I could try to text the others and see if they're okay! I feel like if I were up higher, I might be able to get some service".
"Well, it's a good thing I have just the dinosaur for that", Lucy said, showing Petry off.
Petry happily chirped with confidence as he walked forward.
"Hey, that's not a bad idea!", Lori smiled. "But, I'm still a little woozy from being unconscious earlier…", she rubbed her head.
"Understandable", Lucy agreed.
"Hey, Zeb, think you can find us anything to eat?", Lori asked her dinosaur.
With Zeb feeling hungry himself, he started snarling as he neared his head to Petry. Petry started squawking as he backed away.
"Something other than one of my siblings' dinosaurs…", Lori said with a nervous smile.
Zeb heeded her instruction and before going off to hunt, he placed his head down to Lori to let her pet him one more time before finding some food for the gang.
Back on the island Lincoln and Rexy were stranded on, Kash and Morag's military forces searched the island for the Spinosaurus Morag spoke of. As they walked with caution, one of the hunters noticed large footprints imbedded in the ground.
"Tracks…", the hunter said.
"They probably belong to the Spinosaurus", Kash said as he examined the tracks. "It's much bigger than that stupid Tyrannosaurus".
In case you haven't noticed by now, Kash is pretty much an overgrown brat.
The group followed the tracks, and it did not take them long to find the Spinosaurus fishing in a lake, hoping to catch some fish in its long snout. Being as quiet as possible, Kash and the hunters creeped through the bushes as they all pointed their guns at the dinosaur.
"Fire!", one of the hunters ordered.
Heeding this instruction, all the hunters used their rifles to shoot the Spinosaurus. Unfortunately for them, this did little to no damage, and it only caused the Spinosaurus to become extremely pissed off. Seeing the hunters in the bushes, the Spinosaurus began biting into and eating some of them!
"Shoot him with the implant, you idiot!", Kash yelled at the hunter next to him.
Hearing this, the hunter shot the implant onto the Spinosaurus' head, in which it stuck its four sharp spikes deep into the head, allowing this device to gain access to the predator's brain. This caused immense pain for the Spinosaurus, causing it to roar in blind rage and pain. Before it could kill anymore hunters, Kash used his controller to type in a special code. Once he did, the Spinosaurus quickly stopped attacking and stood in a calm position with a blank expression. Kash had now gained control over the Spinosaurus.
"Yes! Looks like it's just a stupid reptile after all!", Kash shouted with joy.
"Excellent work, Kash", the hunter next to him said. "Now, shall we track down that T. Rex?"
"Hmm….", Kash said as he pressed some buttons on his controller.
Before anyone could even think, the Spinosaurus ran over to the hunter and clamped his jaw down on him! He then allowed the hunter's corpse to slide down its esophagus. Then, all the hunters pointed their guns at the Spino.
"What the hell, Kash?!", one of the hunters exclaimed.
"Look, personally, I think you all are extremely annoying, and I'm gonna enjoy watching the Spinosaurus murder you all", Kash smirked. "Besides, I wanna see what this beast is capable of…"
After Kash pressed some more buttons on the controller, the Spinosaurus went on a murdering spree of brutally killing all the hunters around him! You thought watching Rexy kill people was bad? Well, the Spino was a master at being a large theropod while also ensuring some brutal deaths. Many of its attacks were similar to that of a T. Rex, such as chomping on and eating people or just straight up squashing them into pulp with its feet. However, one thing it did to the last hunter proved just how brutal this creature was, or at least how sadistic Kash was in controlling him. It used its foot to squish the entire lower body of the hunter, flattening this man's legs into a pancake. The Spinosaurus then used its jaw to bite off the hunter's head before eating it whole. Once all the hunters were dead and the area around the lake was turned into a bloody mess, the Spinosaurus let out a victorious roar, in accordance with Kash controlling it.
"Now, it's time to track down that stupid Loud boy, and kill us a T. Rex, too!", Kash said in a maniacal tone.
