AN: Naruto has history with Momo. It should go without saying if he helped her develop her quirk then he also trained her a bit. Momo in this fic isn't your average big sister figure that really can't fight. As things stand, just like Bakugo, Todoroki and Tokoyami she's well ahead of the rest of class A. The main difference is she's opposed to direct combat so the rest of class A don't realize how far advanced Momo is.
Quirk wise, nobody in the class has developed their quirk to the level she has.
It's fiction. Characters fight at light speed and have a conversation mid fight and have no problem hearing each other. Sound would have to be travelling at the speed for that to make sense. That's just how fiction works.
At this point just it's pretty obvious that Furioso In F Minor by Nicholas Britell is slowly becoming Naruto's theme song in this story. It'll be used in this one as well.
Chapter 6
An Unexpected Meeting
Wednesday 7PM
Tokyo - JHA Secret Underground Facility
This facility was originally an mine, owned by one of the richest families in Japan during the 90s. How it had gotten into the hands of the JHA was a question not many of the organization's body could answer.
This facility over a hundred years old. It had refurbished during the early 2010s and over the years it had evolved into its current appearance. This facility was much more similar to a resort. It wasn't anything like you would expect a secret government organization to look like. It contained accommodation for members, a casino, golf course, a stadium and spaces for recreational activities. Underground the streets of urban Japan, was an utopia created by the very people who secretly ran the country.
This facility, as far as the public knew, did not exist.
There was a particular room within the underground facility. It could be in a sense considered the most important room within the facility. The room was located in the lowest floor of the facility, many members of the JHA were unaware of its existence and those who knew of it had no idea where exactly the room was.
The room was a large one. About ten metres wide and near triple the amount in length. Aside from the size, it was a plain room. The interior of the room was fashioned like a circular conference room, however there were no long rows of seats. There were no chairs lined in the grand space either. Instead the chairs were systematically placed inside multiple glass booths within the walls. Going from the top to the bottom of the high walls, there appeared to be three rolls of these boths.
The number of seats at the lowest row were as many as nine. Each chair were fashioned with high quality materials and maintained a uniform black color. It was almost the same from the glass and metal made booths within the walls, the key differences laid in the varying insignias etched at the top of each of them.
Out of the nine uniform booths, four were visibly elevated a couple few higher up the wall, rising above the remaining five by almost half their height. The interior of the booths were relatively plain. Aside from the chairs, there were small stools ahead of them carrying microphones and control pad with three buttons. The rest of the booth was empty, save for florescent lights placed at the top of the booths.
The middle row were visibly larger than the other booths and had only five seats. They were strictly placed in the same height unlike the lower row. Also unlike the lower row, the booths were far more decorated. They were made of glass still, however the metallic parts were replaced with beautiful golden rods and bars. While interior of the lower booths were plain, the middle row booths had a cultural appearance to them. They had curtains, traditional Japanese decorations and dimmer lighting.
There were tables placed in the booths, with a pot of sake and other beverages, an incense lamp and some snacks. The chairs were more eye-catching and didn't match in color. On the top of each one of the middle row booths were golden kanjis for North, South, East, West and Central respectively.
The highest row was as high as thirteen meters from the ground. This row had the fewest booths, a measly amount of just two.
The two booths were placed on the very same height but at opposite sides of each other. Though it was the top row and could be associated as the most important of the two, it shared more physical similarities with the bottom row. The booths were equally as plain, the only difference being that the glasses were tinted and the lack of an insignia. The only way to tell the two apart was with their color; one black and the other white.
There was a statue of a noble looking woman in the middle of the room.
Currently, a meeting was being held in the conference room. Fifteen individuals sat in their respective booths in complete silence, as they waited for one of the chairmen to declare the start of the meeting. Out of the sixteen booths, figures or the outlines of figures of varying sizes could be seen. Only a single booth was left empty. It was a booth in the middle row, specifically the 'Central' booth.
The sound of a person clearing their throat broke the silence. The sound came from one of the top row booths, and it was difficult to tell whether it was a man or a woman who had made that sound. The voice had an unnatural echo to it, a quality the two persons in the highest booths shared. Their voices were distorted to hide their identities from the rest of the room.
"We'll begin the meeting now without any further delays." A voice spoke out.
It came from the white variant of the highest booths. The visage figure within the white booth appeared to have a fairly average physique. Whether or not the figure was male or female could not be discerned from observation.
"We called this meeting to address the present situation of Japan. I do not have to spell it out, but this is about the super villain going under the alias; Khaos." The figure in the white booth said.
After the words were said a wave of murmurs swept passed the room. The voices of the men and woman within the room were laced with a variety of emotions. The most common ones being, concern, wariness and anxiety.
"Calm yourselves." The figure in the black booth spoke out for the first time. Their voice was distorted as well. "We do not know much of what Khaos plans, and with her unpredictable personality it would be nigh impossible to determine the actions she's going to take. So for now all we can do is observe. I beg you all to stay calm."
With those words the occupants of the room slowly settled down.
"Now we will listen to the reports of the head of our intelligence division. House Yamanaka, would you please."
"Hai." A man in a booth in the lower row responded to the call. The man took to his feet. He was a tall man with a solid build and long blonde hair held in a low pony tail. Despite his feminine hairstyle, the man was a person who one would describe as manly or roguishly handsome. He had a square jaw, defined cheekbones and sharp looking eyes. The man was dressed in a traditional kimono with a crest on the left breast position. He carried a green file in his hand. A couple sheets of paper were taken out of the file and the man begun to read from them.
It was JHA monthly report. The man started with the least concerning topics like the JHA budget, influx of rookies, the complaints and strikes by non-governmental organizations and so on. Most of the occupants of the room did not bother paying attention to this bit. It was merely a rough report, a collection of headlines without any of the important details. Those were left in the copies of the JHA reports that they would receive after the meeting was over.
"...Now for the villain watch segment." Yamanaka said. Everybody in the room perked up at his words. This was what they had been waiting to hear. "Things have been mostly calm within the country, aside from the seemingly endless brewing of conflict in the South that is." The man said, eliciting laughter of the occupants of the room.
The South side of Japan had been in a state of unrest since the the early 2010s til date. The cause started from a movement led by group of protesters, and with time the simple protests transformed into something far more dark.
There were endless strings of riots across the streets of the South, the crime rate was extremely high and the general state of a fifth of Japan was in shambles. Schools, hospitals, subways stations, supermarkets and others were forced to close down due to the rise of crime. The streets were unsafe. The security agencies were helpless to quell the flames of chaos that the protesters had created, and eventually the entire police force in a fifth of Japan was crippled for over a year.
A single year was enough to turn the formerly beautiful and thriving states of South Japan into a modern day Tartarus. People online spoke of it as a second hell, a hell on Earth. Those who were unfortunate enough to live in the South understood better than others the accuracy of such statements. Everyday was struggle.
The local thugs and hoodlums had become kings and queens of the streets. Drugs, weapons and other illegal contraband swarmed the streets. The sight of crimes became a normal day affair, the bodies of innocents continued to pile, while the hyenas of society fed on the misfortune of others. Scavenging on the history of the country. Soon, that became the unofficial name of Southern Japan. Tartarus. The darkest place in hell.
With time, Tartarus had lost its reputation and with the great efforts of the government and the JHA, the South of Japan had been returned to an operational level. The schools and hospitals returned, however they were still constantly at the mercy of the crime lords of the South. It took an enormous amount of work to drag the southern states of the country out of the state of depression, however it was nigh impossible to completely win it back from the clutches of those hyenas.
It wasn't because the government or these JHA did not wish to put in an effort or were incompetent to do so, Far from it. Rather, they were concerned that the southern states would be incapable of withstanding any such actions. One year was too long. Far too long.
The roots of evil and corruption had already spread too deep into the southern states of Japan.
The government and police force were hardpressed to clean out the streets once and for all. The current southern states were like a person who had barely been pulled out of the doors of death. Weak, sensitive and in a very delicate state. They were still recovering. It was estimated that they would still require another few decades until they could recover enough to withstand the efforts of the government to save them.
Even that was in theory.
Now things were manageable. Crime rates were still high but not terrifyingly so. It was difficult to live in the southern states of Japan but not impossible. It was for this reason that people could now make jokes about it. Humour was subjective, and even in the worst periods of Tartarus many people, Japanese and foreigners alike made jokes and memes about the tragic state of a fifth of the country.
Now that things had sufficiently cooled down, such jokes had become more socially acceptable and even considered 'okay' by almost everybody.
Almost everybody but those who lived through that hell. They knew what Tartarus truly was like and were more glad than anyone that those days were behind them. They fought the hardest to bring the South out of that hellish situation, they gave the most and lost the most. They were the ones that knew.
While others celebrated the victory of the government and police force, they mourned their brethren. While the rest of the world turned away once the crisis was declared 'over', they actively worked to make sure it never came back to that. They were the orphaned, widowed, crippled, broken and scarred. Reminders of those days were craved into their bodies, into their minds or souls. In the eyes of their children they could see the partners they lost. In the streets that they walked they could still see the pools of blood that were a common sight once upon a time.
They survived hell but they still carried fragments of it with them.
"Refrain from making needless jokes. Do not forget some people within this room lived through the hell in the South." The figure in the white booth said sternly.
Yamanaka paled. "My apologies!." he said and quickly gave a low bow. His eyes drifted to the left, to a both in the middle row. The booth had the kanji for 'South' above it.
Sweat rolled down his face as he waited for a his apology to be accepted. 'Shit. Me and my stupid jokes... I've gone and pissed off one of the most scariest people here.' He cursed himself under his breath for being to careless. He should have known better. It was like making jokes about war in the face of a refugee.
"We will ignore it this once. Proceed." The figure from the white booth said.
Yamanaka sighed in relief. Though it wasn't forgiveness, those words were an assurance that nothing would happen to him after this. Unless the southern elder was insane, they wouldn't think of punishing a person pardoned by the top booths.
Thinking about it now, Yamanaka didn't feel as relived. Nearly all the elders could be considered insane one way or the other. The central elder was crazy enough to ignore the summons of the board and ran off on a vacation.
'That elder is special, but still... I should return straight to my compound and up the security once this is over.' He said to himself.
Putting aside his concerns for now, Yamanaka schooled his expression and stood straight and resumed giving his report. "The main crux of today's report concerns one of the graduates of one of our educational facilities. A child with immense potential, from the highly rated 114th batch. Graduate 4061, Uzumaki Naruto."
Yamanaka's words elicited a burst of whispers amongst the occupants of the room.
"Ah, that's a familiar name."
"So it's him?."
"That little beast's up to no good again I bet."
"Shh... You fool, are you looking to die?. If Elder East hears what you said he'll kill you."
"A-ah... Right. My bad."
Yamanaka eyed the figure in the booth who referred to Naruto as a 'little beast' and thought the man must be suicidal. His quickly glanced at the middle row. There were no moves from the 'East' booth, fortunately for the man. 'He's lucky. Elder East's ears aren't what they used to. If he heard that there's no way he'd sit back and ignore it.' Yamanaka thought.
He knew well the temper of the eastern elder. The man was stubborn as goat and would do near anything to achieve his goal once his mind was set. If he decided he wanted to kill that 'house' then it didn't matter what anybody said, he would not rest until they were dead.
"If it's concerning the incident in that store in Hachōji then it's there's no need of discussing it. Young Naruto was not responsible. It is not a concern. My people are in the process of handling it." The revered and feared eastern elder spoke out. His voice was reminiscent of the voice of the person Allmight had spoken to on the phone after leaving the Mr Yamada's convenience store. Elder East was a close associate of the number one hero!.
"I don't believe it left for Elder East to decide for the room what they should or shouldn't be concerned about." A cold voice emerged from one of the lower booths. It was amongst the booths that were ascended over five others.
The room descended into a pin dropping silence. Elder East had been directly contradicted.
'He's crazy!.'
'Does he have no regard for his life?.'
'This bastard... I got lucky so Elder East didn't hear me when I said that. But you... you said it so loudly. Elder East is old not fucking deaf.'
'Elder East will make his move!.'
A full minute passed and still it was complete silence. Contrary to majority of the room's beliefs, Elder East didn't immediately explode. Instead he remained silent as though he hadn't heard what the bold man had said.
Some begun to suspect Elder East depended on hearing aids that he forgot to take today in the previous meetings. The Elder East they knew would not hear words like those and not react in kind.
"Are you questioning my capabilities?." Elder East broke the silence with a question. His words proved that he had heard what the bold 'house' had said, and from the sound of it he wasn't pleased. Why he hadn't jumped out of his booth and attacked the man, many were uncertain. Whatever reason he had, it was an enormous saving grace for the bold speaker.
"I wouldn't dare." the cold voice permeated the area again.
"Whoopee, you already fucking did." Elder East snarled out in anger. The legendary temper of his was slow to action, but it was making its inevitable appearance. "I said it wasn't the boy who's responsible, so it is naturally not him." Elder East said with an air of arrogance.
His voice got deeper and more menacing. He was inching closer and closer to an eruption. "Since when did garbage like you get to tell me otherwise?. Now you claim that you were not questioning me?. Oh... was it your father's capabilities that you were questioning when you said there was cause to be concerned after I said there wasn't?. Was it your father's men who were in Hachiōji investigating that convenience store incident, hmm?. Tell me, am I your father?. If yes then tell your mother to return to my bed at once!."
"Pffft!." Sounds of muffled laughter echoed out of the some of the middle row booths and all of the lower row booths aside from the unfortunate recipient of the verbal beat down.
"Elder has misunderstood my words." The cold voice came again. This time it sounded more shaky.
"This son is unfilial. This is the third time you have contradicted your father." Elder East said and made a tut-tut sound of disapproval.
The bold figure gritted his teeth in anger and frustration. "Elder East you–"
"Call me father."
The man could not take it anymore and pounded his fist into the stool in front of him. A small action to vent his anger. However, that action wasn't as effective as he hoped and in a fit of rage and a moment of stupidity, he lost his control of his words. "Old man you're provoking me!." he roared.
Calling the elder an old man was far more satisfying than any tantrum he could've thrown. The way he felt after it, it was unexplainable. However, that feeling only lasted for an instant. It was soon replaced by a suffocating feeling of dread.
The man eyes widened as he realized what he had foolishly said out loud. He was about to scream out a apology but he didn't have that long. Something slowly emerged from the ground beneath him and in a swift movement he was cornered. His desperate screams and pleas for help rung out but fell to deaf ears. A sickening sound of bones snapping resounded and restored the silence. In a brief interval, the gutsy man had been killed.
"The dignity of an elder will not be demeaned by a 'house'." A dry sounding voice emerged from the 'West' booth. The voice sent a wave of shivers down the spine of the other 'houses'. They often went through meetings without hearing 'him' speaking once.
The western elder was an enigma, and a man of few words. The few times he did speak there was one constant. His words followed after the unfortunate demise of a 'house'.
"I could've handled him myself western gaki." Elder East said in annoyance.
Whether or not he wanted to kill the man was for to decide. This guy swept into action the quickest merely because he had an itch to kill somebody. Elder East felt like he'd been used. That man would have died anyway, but at least it would have been by his hands and not the hands of this butcher. The western elder didn't offer up a response to Elder East. That was the way with him. After he was done killing he would return back to silence.
"Elder East." The distorted voice of the black booth came.
"Yes?."
"Inform us on what happened in Hachiōji."
Elder East sighed. Even after his assurance they were still so adamant. Once they heard Uzumaki Naruto they just couldn't handle themselves. The top row likely already knew all about the convenience store incident, however they still wanted Elder East to speak about it to those who did not.
This was clearly telling him that they weren't buying into his words and agreed with the now late 'house'. There was reason to be concerned. Elder East reluctantly recounted the findings of police in Mr Yamada's store. He ended his words with a firm "It wasn't the gaki."
"Nine people...?"
"What a mess. We can't write it off as an accident, it's a damn slaughter."
"Seems like it's connected to Uzumaki somehow. His name is literally written across it."
"Could it be that somebody is targeting him?."
"Idiot. Who would be dumb enough to do that?."
"Haha... I said something without thinking..."
"Order." The figure in the white booth said. The room returned to tranquility in an instant. "Elder East, thank you for your explanation and the efforts you've made."
"I'm just doing my job." Elder East snorted.
"It is appreciated. However, we can not heed to Elder East's insistence to let things be. While we trust Elder East explicitly, and I personally believe Naruto is innocent. Still, we measures have to be taken."
Elder East exhaled audibly. "Such as?."
"Perhaps it's time to bring in graduate 4061 in for a debriefing." The figure in the white booth said.
A sound of a badly suppressed laughter came as soon as the words resounded. Elder East was the one responsible for the snicker. "Do you really think it's possible?." Elder East asked.
The room burst into low murmurs. Elder East's words were very bold. It had to be said that he was not just talking to anybody, he was talking to someone from one of the top booths!. Elder East stayed true to his gutsy reputation and straightforwardly said those words to a top booth. Their was an air of challenge about his words, he spoke as though he was daring the white booth figure to try.
"What is Elder East implying?." The white booth figure asked. Clearly they sensed the defensiveness in Elder East's words but chose to ignore it.
Elder East snorted and spoke in naked pride. "That gaki didn't pick that code name of his for nothing." Elder East said with a chuckle. "Ultima, it's latin for ultimate. Without telling you, I'm sure you understand what that name implies. One who stands above all things, an existence at the very peak The brat always had an unfair advantage due to his quirk. That quirk of his is like a cheat code, and even I am occasionally helpless against it when he applies it properly." Elder East said, causing the occupants of the room to gasp in shock.
"Is he serious?."
"Isn't that kid still a teenager?. He's already that strong...?. T-Terrifying..."
"What are you all getting so excited about?. Tsk, it goes without saying. A quirk like that is near unbeatable. I'd be more surprised if he wasn't so monstrous."
"Shut up. Elder East strength is terrifying. He's in the top 5 in Japan even at his age. His estimation of the boy's strength can't be taken for granted."
"I know that!. I'm still unsurprised. His whole family is filled with monsters, why the hell would he be any different?."
"Ah... that's true."
Elder East continued speaking after a lengthy pause. He wanted to let the revelation sink in, so this lot would understand that bringing Naruto in wasn't as easy as they thought it would be.
"He always had an unfair advantage, we all know it. But don't think that Naruto's quirk is the reason I rate him so highly. It's naturally a factor, however the true reason is his talent. That brat has combat talent like you've never seen before. Fighting him is like fighting against a demon. He adapts at an alarming rate, he learns too quickly and he has an predatory instinct for taking advantage of weaknesses. So if you think you can just send in a couple agents and hustle that brat back here, you're sorely mistaken." Elder East said.
He hadn't spoken those words solely to deter the white booth figure's plans, part of him wanted that, but another part wanted to make it clear just who it was they were talking about. They were of the opinion that Naruto was still the boy he was all those years ago, but they had no idea how wrong they were. He had grown into something else entirely since his graduation.
If it were before, sending in agents to bring in Naruto probably wouldn't cause much problems. Now, however, it was different. Aside from the delicate nature of his status, Naruto possessed an outrageous battle prowess that made it nigh impossible for most of their agents to restrain. Should the boy choose to resist then they could kiss any hopes of speaking to him goodbye.
"So elder is saying that Uzumaki Naruto is beyond restraint?." The figure in the white booth said.
Elder East scoffed at the poor attempt at twisting his words. "No. Naruto is powerful not unbeatable. If you want to bring him in, then you'll have to send in one or two gold star agent at least."
"Elder is aware that gold stars are just shy of elder's own rank, correct?." The figure in the white booth's voice sounded skeptical.
"I know what I said." Elder East reiterated. His words caused the lower booth whispered amongst themselves again.
"Two golden stars?!."
"Sighs... can you still call this kid human?."
"I thought elder was being generous with his estimation, but if it really requires two gold stars..."
Yamanaka shook his head warily. Kids these days were developing way too fast. He knew people who had to work their butts off for forty years before barely making it to silver star. Now there was apparently an eighteen year old who was leagues above their level and even so high up the gold star charts that two would be required to control him.
The thought was near nauseating. What a disgusting talent. It could make a man wonder what exactly he had been working so hard for. Why even bother when there were existences who could top what you struggled to accomplish in decades in merely a couple of years.
Fate was unkind and reality was harsh. For those people he knew, if they found out about this then it was likely they would commit suicide out of frustration. Possibly some would keel over and die instantly.
The light in Yamanaka's eyes suddenly shifted. His expression turned grim as he placed two fingers on his forehead. It was an unnecessary action, something he realized he did out of habit. After a few seconds he was forced to interrupt the still ongoing discussion between one of the top booths and an elder. "Sirs!. I apologize for the interruption but I have really Important news!."
The 'argument' between the white booth's figure and Elder East was called to an abrupt close. The entire room's attention shifted from the two top members to Yamanaka in a flash. "What possibly could be so important that you had to ignore me, brat?." Elder East asked impatiently, sounding very annoyed.
"It's about graduate 4061!." Yamanaka declared.
The room immediately went silent, some out of shock, others so they could hear what had transpired. Elder East's booth visibly trembled after Yamanaka's response. "That damned gaki..." He growled out.
"What happened?." The northern elder spoke for the first time. It was a masculine pitch. His voice sounded gruff, as though his throat was clogged up by something. It was difficult to discern the speaker's age from his voice.
"Graduate 4061 he... he killed someone!." Pin dropping silence. A silence that all the lower booths knew they shouldn't break. Yamanaka could hear his heart drumming in a rhythmic beat. It was still level... for now. The more visible the vibration of Elder East's booth became
, the more the tempo of his heartbeat increased. The elder was mad, and understandably so. The person he was trying to shield moments ago had gone and done something so crazy. The old man must have felt like an idiot right now. He was well past angry now, he was absolutely livid.
Like a dream, the trembling of the booth calmed to a stop. All the onlookers were shocked and confused by this development. Yet again, the elder did not blow up as expected. After a few seconds, his calm voice came. "Two gold stars probably won't be sufficient should Naruto go at them with the intention to kill." Elder East started. His voice was even, sounding completely calm. It was as though he hadn't just heard that his ward was out killing people. "If the news is authentic, then it would be a waste if our precious gold stars were sent off to their deaths like that, so it's better off if they don't. As for the gaki. I'll bring him in myself."
Nobody said anything after that. The meeting was called to a premature close and in breeze the conference room was emptied. All that was left behind save for the booths was the corpse of the 'bold speaker'. His hollow eyes stared on into nothingness, the expression of fear and unwillingness frozen on his face until he became dust once more.
10AM
Momo woke up to with an intense headache. She groggily attempted to push herself up, but soon found that her efforts were in vain. There was a weight pressing down on her stomach. She opened her eyes briefly but had to close them as quickly as she opened them. She was left with a stinging sensation. Somebody put up the blinds.
Momo groaned, her eyelashes flustered as her eyes parted once more. She took a moment to get used to the light before looking down at the 'weight' on her body.
Momo was greeted by a smiling faced Naruto who was lying on his back with his head resting on her stomach. There was a tray of food on his stomach. It looked like breakfast. Naruto happily ate from the tray, completely ignorant of Momo's recent waking.
Momo observed the whiskered teen in silence. They were in her room, and from the looks of things that was the tray the help normally used to serve her breakfast. Likely the food on it belonged to her as well. Momo continued to watch the blonde stuff his face without care in the world and didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Here he was, in her own room, looking as comfortable as he would be if he owned the place, eating her own food all the while using her as a pillow for his head.
'A classic Naruto moment.' Momo thought with a shake of her head.
The word shame clearly did not exist in Naruto's dictionary. Momo knew if she stayed quiet the blonde would empty out all the dishes without care or consideration for the person beneath him. She was about to ask him to pass her a sandwich –and hopefully spook him in the process– but Naruto beat her to the punch.
"Here, have some." Naruto said as he picked up a sandwich and passed it to Momo. His blue irises rolled to top of his scleras (white portion of the eyes), and he was able to stare directly into Momo's raven colored eyes.
Momo unconsciously accepted the sandwich. She was in daze from the sudden move. She wondered how he did it. How he could stare so deeply and intensely at a person. It was as though he could see her deepest darkest secrets with a mere glance, like he could read her like a book. Perhaps it was the piercing blue color of his eyes that made it so. Perhaps it was just him.
Momo was not sure, what she did know was that when Naruto stare at her like that she felt a indescribable warmth in her chest. She felt at peace and all her worries disappeared with a stare. Even when he did it elsewhere. Momo felt more at home than home whenever Naruto stared at her with eyes like that.
"You'll need your strength after the night we had."
Just like that the pleasant atmosphere was instantly destroyed by Naruto. Momo was brought out of her daze and instinctively kicked the blonde away, sending a mess of plates and his breakfast flying across her room. Momo's face burned hot red as she glared at the blonde. Naruto fell in an awkward position, his ass was facing upwards while his neck, head and knees were on the ground. Even at that, the blonde still had a broad grin on his face. "Hentai!." Momo screamed at him furiously.
"I am aware and proud of that fact." Naruto declared. He stuck out a hand to give her a snide thumbs-up but only succeeded in doing the opposite. The blonde realized what he'd done and giggled at his own stupidity.
Momo crossed her arms under her bust and huffed in annoyance. Why did she always let her guard down with this idiot?.
She should've known ninety-nine percent of the time the stuff going through his head was dirty. 'Here I was think he looked a little cool but h-he...' Momo couldn't find the words even in her mind, making her quite frustrated. She turned to glare at the blonde, only to find that he was still in that ridiculous position. Momo's face got even redder. Naruto was dressed in loose shorts and a sleeveless shirt, so from this angle and with the position he was in Momo could see... a lot. "KYAAAAHHHHH!." Momo shrieked in horror and quickly looked away.
Naruto to his credit had no idea why Momo had such a second reaction. That was only at first though. After a few seconds the blonde worked it out in his head and grinned at the embarrassed girl like a beast. "I'd tell would love to tell you it just the natural morning reaction us guys have– bah, who am I kidding?. Truth iz this happened cuz of you!." Naruto said with a lascivious laugh.
"Get up you... you... you rogue!." Momo used her hands to shield herself from the inappropriate sight and yelled at the blonde.
"But I'm already up!." Naruto quipped then snickered to himself.
Momo's face was so hot it could practically produce steam. "Naruto-senpai please!." She said breathlessly. The embarrassment was almost suffocating. Tears had gathered at the corner of her eyes as she tried to sound as stern as possible.
Naruto gave a final laugh before complying. He showed off a high degree of flexibility and was able to get straight up to his feet from the award position. "Better?." Naruto turned his face to the sniffing Momo and asked with a teasing smirk. The girl gave him an adorable glare but nodded in the end. "Alr–" Naruto started and was about to turn but Momo screamed out before he could.
"Don't!." She said in an urgent voice.
Momo looked away from Naruto with an intense blush and tried to say something but choked on the words before they were halfway out. The girl cleared her throat and wore an abashed expression as she spoke. "D-don't turn until it... it goes down." She squeaked out in a whisper. Naruto's response was a loud roar of laughter. "Shut up!." Momo snapped at the blonde in both shame and anger.
'He's always putting me in embarrassing situations like these.' Momo thought and took a sigh to calm herself.
"Okay I won't turn." Naruto replied. He walked a few feet and crouched down near a sandwich that had miraculously stayed whole despite being thrown across the room. The blonde picked up and immediately took a bite from it before Momo could stop him.
The words stopped at the tip of her tongue, in then end all she could give was a halfhearted "You shouldn't eat stuff off the floor."
"You know I don't like wasting stuff." Naruto said. He sat cross-legged on the floor and took another bite from the sandwich. The two teens remained in silence, all that could be heard was the low chewing sounds of Naruto. After he was done eating they maintained the tranquility for a while before Naruto's voice broke it. "You don't want to talk about it."
Momo's expression immediately turned downcast. In an instant it was as though she had lost her soul. She knew it was coming and here it finally was. Truth be told, it was the first thing on her mind when she woke up. The picture of the hanging corpse of the man she killed, it constantly flashed through her mind since she woke up.
Momo tried to hide it with her embarrassment, to suppress it with Naruto's antics, but it didn't work. Her attempts to hide from the truth had been picked out by Naruto's eyes. When he looked at her eyes he probably saw it. The fear, the anxiety, the despair. She couldn't run away from her actions and neither could she hide it from him.
Yaoyorozu Momo had killed someone.
"It's better I'm looking away cuz you probably don't wanna have me looking at you when I say this." Naruto said. "Well some crazy stuff went down yesterday."
Naruto cleaned the bread crumbs off his hands on his shorts. He spoke in a clear and stable voice, there was so much nonchalance in his tone it was as though he wasn't talking about his friend killing someone. He was surprisingly casual.
Momo didn't understand it. She stared at the blonde's back in thought. Naruto picking up on her facade was to be expected. He knew her best and could always tell what was going on in her mind, so Momo was the least bit surprised when he brought up yesterday. She also expected him to give her a talk. What she didn't anticipate was the manner in which Naruto went about giving her the talk. The blonde skipped the whole consoling bit and instead spoke about it casually.
This was out of the ordinary, even for Naruto. Momo understood hid personality, she knew he unpredictable and had a mean streak, but he wasn't downright heartless. It wasn't like him to downplay something he knew was a very sensitive subject to her. To treat it with so little regard. To treat her with so little regard.
Momo knew it was not like him, yet that was not what stopped her from losing her temper. She didn't have the urge to begin with. Somewhere in her heart she felt like this was what she deserved. Even though it likely wasn't Naruto's intentions, she could pretend just a little. Maybe with this, somehow, she could make amends for what she had done yesterday. She could lie to herself that Naruto's casualness was out of lack of surprise that she was the thing she had always been.
An unfair existence. A lucky good-for-nothing that was fortunate enough to be born rich. A girl with an undeserved quirk. Undeserving of the life she had. She was a person who had been given so much but achieved so little. She never worked for any of it, it just came to her. And her good fortunes never stopped.
She still had her status. She still had a family that loved her and was always there for her. She still had this blonde haired pervert, her best friend in the entire world. She never had to cry or mourn over anything. Life was just so good to her.
And now she was a killer. "The cops aren't here." Momo said. The police should've barged in here and apprehended her by now. They had to, she was a criminal. She killed a man. She was a killer. A coldblooded killer who turned her weapon on another in a heartbeat. She had no remorse, she didn't hesitate, she just pulled the trigger.
Bang!
The sound of the gunshot and memory of Maroon's death flashed in her mind again. Two hot streaks of tears rolled down her cheeks. "Why aren't the police here?!." Momo yelled out in anguish. She felt so dirty, even though she was clean she felt like there was a stench on her that she couldn't get off no matter what she did. The stench of a murderer. She was a murderer. A murderer who would likely be pardoned because of who she was. Any other person would...
"They already came by and took my statement. It was in self-defense, and I have a provisional license anyways. So they'll write it off as an accident." Naruto responded, casually once again and seemingly deaf to the crying voice of Momo. "Offing basically two people ain't gonna do wonders for my hero resume but I'll live." Naruto said with a shrug.
Momo's cries stopped abruptly when those words emerged. She turned to gaze at the back of Naruto incredulously. "What are you talking about?."
Naruto turned his head to the side so he could see her. "What else?. The dudes I dropped yesterday."
Momo's eyes shook in disbelief. 'No... you can't be serious!.' Momo suddenly got up from her bed, she wore a frantic expression and stared directly into Naruto's calm eyes. "Y-you can't do this for me again!." Momo said in a desperate voice.
She knew her arguments were coming far too late and the blonde had already carried out the actions, still she had to say something. To let him know that she didn't want this. She didn't deserve his protection, especially not this time. This time she had to be the one to pay and not him. She didn't want to stay behind him once more, helpless as he took the blame for her.
Naruto stared at the teary eyes of the black haired teen. She looked even more adorable with her hair down. The blonde couldn't help but smile lightly.
She was so cute, yet she had the darkness and most self-destructive mind. She had a low self esteem and harboured guilt for her very own existence. She was like the very opposite of him, yet they were still so much alike. That was why he was drawn to her. From the very first day. Seeing her made those words jump out of his mouth.
"Let's be friends!."
Naruto smiled softly. He longed for days like that. Days that he could spend in happiness, laughing as he teased her, playing catch and hide and seek, doing wrong things behind her parents and getting in and out of trouble together. Those simple times were the best. Then he could pretend for a few months that he wasn't who he was.
Now, time offered him no such luxury and the situation called for his 'name'. No matter his misgivings about leading a life like this, no matter how it may or may not damage his relationship with this adorable crybaby he had to bear his name as long as it meant protecting her.
They took it too far. Momo had been targeted. He did not know why, but he knew it was connected to him and he would surely find out. When he did it would not be Naruto knocking on the doors of those responsible. It would be Ultima.
Right now though... For this little crybaby balling her eyes out in her room he had to be Naruto. Just for her.
The blonde rose to his feet. "There's truly nothing I can tell you'll that'll make you feel any better. Words like 'it's not your fault' don't work. That's been my experience." Naruto said with a wry smile. He slowly walked towards the wailing Momo who was now begging/demanding that he let her bare the consequences of her sins. "All I can offer you is a blunt fact. It was either him or you." Naruto said with a firm expression.
His eyes softened and he placed a finger on Momo's lips, silencing her. "Shut up you egghead." Naruto told her. "Didn't I promise to always protect you?. I don't go back on my words, you should know that. How can I not want to shield you when you're this fragile..." He tenderly cupped Momo's face with his raised hand. The girl unconsciously leaned into his hand, her eyes were glossy from both her tears and his words.
"You're so damn cute Momo. If it's you, then it doesn't matter what you do, I'll always defend you. I don't care what you think about yourself, all I know is that I wanna guard you always. I don't care if you think you're a killer or an unfair existence, I will always stand by you. I never want anything to happen to you. And if I can help it then I'll keep all the bad stuff away from you. Because as long as it's for you Momo... I can do anything." Naruto said then pulled her into a warm embrace. "That's all I really care about, so please just let me selfishly guard you."
Momo couldn't say a single word while he was speaking. He had a way with words. He could ensnare and entrance her with a few sentences. All her defenses were like thin paper resistance to him, he just sliced through directly to her heart and filled her with warmth like she'd never knew.
'I don't deserve this.' Momo told herself. She believed it too. She really did not deserve such a person in her life. She was unworthy of such a friend, such a... She couldn't dare think it. He was too good for a person like her. If she stayed with him like this then it would be beyond cheating. Her life would be a damned hack.
'Uzumaki Naruto... I don't deserve knowing you. I don't know why life has blessed me so much and I feel so bad for it that I'm willing to let it all go in a heartbeat if it were possible. All but not you. I want to be greedy this time... I don't want to...'
Momo could barely wrap her arms around the blonde's chiseled figure, but she didn't mind. She held on tightly as she could to what her arms could hold and buried her face into his chest. It was selfish of her. It was inappropriate too. If her parents were to walk into this scene she hadn't the slightest clue what she would say to convince them it wasn't what it looked like. She knew. Yet she didn't care.
Not now. All that mattered was this moment. Those words he said to her, she would be selfish and greedy to hold onto them but Momo didn't mind those emotions. She would bare the guilt because they were from him. As long as they were from Naruto... she didn't mind. If it was her Naruto, she could never '...Let you go.'
Momo was not sure how long she had stayed in Naruto's embrace, mostly because she had fallen asleep in his arms after a few minutes. When she awoke she found that he was gone.
Though she could not see him, Momo could still feel the warmth from his body on her bed. His scent was still in the room and the sensation of his hold still lingered on her skin. Momo touched her lips in surprise. She felt another such sensation, this time left to linger on her lips. Momo's cheeks turned pink. "...Naruto-senpai you rogue."
Time: 11AM
'You're willing to go so far for her...'
After Naruto 'snuck' out of the Yaoyorozu manor he received a call from his 'favorite blonde girl' and that was the very first thing she said. Naruto rolled his eyes at her words. "Quit being so jelly." Naruto said.
He didn't bother asking the girl why she brought up what he'd done for Momo now. He always knew at the back of his mind that she had his equipment bugged. Many times he'd tried his hardest to find where the bug was hidden but to no avail. Naruto was beginning to suspect that the girl drugged him then surgically implanted the bug in him while he was out.
The cons of leaving everything tech related to a single worker.
'Hmph... If it were anyone else you'd be calling them a bitch for crying.' The girl retorted.
Naruto smirked. That much was true. He could already imagine himself calling about five people he knew bitches for crying over their first kill. Five out of those five were males. "Cut the girl some slack, it's her first kill. Heck I didn't do or say nearly as much as I should've." Naruto said.
He spoke casually about the ordeal as a tactic to downplay it's seriousness as much as possible so Momo would let him bare the burden for her. His sweet words would console her for now, but not in the long run. What Naruto counted on in the long run was Momo's diehard belief in him and dependence on him.
He had become such a figure in her life that Momo saw him as this perfect being that could take away any of her problems suffice she let him. He was her sin eater.
The tactic had worked before, though the circumstances weren't nearly as serious.
Back then Momo had done something terrible out of anger, and in a bid to protect her Naruto took the blame and was kicked out of their home as a result. It was both the most regrettable and most instrumental day of Momo's life. Regrettable in the sense that no matter what she said, her parents refused to believe in her confession and instead in Naruto's lie that he was the one responsible.
It was instrumental in the sense that it established her now unshakable trust and belief in Naruto. That day he became her hero and mountain of support.
Naruto wished he could've done more for her as her support today.
'Seducing her with words worked a charm, don't you think?. I'm surprised she didn't spread her legs for you right then and there.' The blonde girl said with a snort.
"Same." Was Naruto's honest response.
'That was supposed to be joke, and a one in bad taste at that you damn lecher.'
"I resent that... Momo would probably have an exquisite taste hehehehe."
'Get your mind out of the gutter for once!.' The girl said in frustration. God this guy was way too horny even for someone their age. He was most probably in contention for biggest pervert in the world. 'Aside from Momo and co's problem, I think I finally have a lead on your assassin girlfriend.'
Naruto eyes brightened. "Really?. What do you got."
'I studied the forensic reports you stole from the police–'
"–Borrowed. I made a copy, I'm a honest murderer not a thief!." Naruto interrupted then laughed foolishly at his own silly joke.
'Way too early to be making jokes about that... Anyways, after I went through the reports I noticed that the blade wounds on Yamada-san was fundamentally different from the rest of the victims. The majority had thin yet jagged cuts and puncture wounds, indicating that the weapon could be anything ranging from a dagger to a simple kitchen knife. This fits the profile of our assassin. However for Yamada-san, the cuts were wider–an indication that the weapon was wider than any normal dagger or kitchen knife should be–yet the cuts were far more clean.'
Naruto stroked his chin in thought. "So you're saying that somebody else more skilled with blades was in Yamada-ossan's store during the killings and most likely it was this individual that killed Yamada-ossan?."
The girl's voice got excited as she replied. 'Precisely. I measured the the width and depth of the wounds from the pictures you stole–'
"Borrowed."
'Whatever. I didn't do it directly so my measurement could be a tinsy bit off, but I believe whoever it was that cut down Yamada-san did so with a broadsword. This person has likely attained a degree of mastery of his sword arts if he could make the police mistake cuts from a broadsword as the same ones from a kitchen knife.'
"Also skilled enough to make it seem as though he wasn't there even to the investigators from the east." Naruto said the grinned. He was brimming with battle intent already. "Heh. This guy might turn out to be an actual challenge. Borrow the JHAs database and get me list of all villains known to use a sword in or around hachiōji." Naruto demanded.
He was already excited to meet this skilled swords man. It wasn't so long since the scratched his itch for a fight with the help of Mt Lady and Kamui Woods but he was already feeling the insatiable urge for combat again. He had to get his fix, fast.
'Hmmph. Who do you think you're talking to here?. I already did that. I also narrowed the search down to the one's with the most heinous crimes and or physiological damage. You know... just how your little assassin likes 'em.'
Naruto chuckled at the girl's snide remarks. Her and her insecurities, always picking faults at others when she knew she was far from perfect. Naruto loved that about her. "You know you just dissed your boss right?."
'Yeah so?. What are you gonna do, spank me?.'
"Oh I just might but–"
'Focus perv.'
"Aww..." He was so close to saying something disturbing as well as morally questionable. Better luck next time.
'The name of guy you're looking for is Zabuza Momochi, an ex-marine from the south. He got into the wanted list after he murdered twelve of his co-marines and fled with a military grade device they were supposed to be transporting. Ever since then Zabuza has been like a ghost, appearing from time to time in the others aside from the south. He wouldn't dare go since there's a kill-on-sight order by the southern elder on his head there. By the JHA standards he's rated middle rank gold.'
"Zabuza Momochi, huh..." Naruto said. He rolled the name around his tongue a few more times before smiling in satisfaction. He'd make sure to yell this cool sounding name when he slugged that sucker out of nowhere. "Ya know where I can find him?." Naruto asked, his eyes lit up with expectation.
'Didn't I just say he was a ghost?. He wouldn't be one if he so easy to find.'
Naruto's shoulders slumped in disappointment. "Dammit..." he grumbled. Just when he thought he'd spend the day kicking the shit out of an unsuspecting felon she had to go ruin it for him.
This guy was also a link to finding his assassin friend, and that was number one on his priority since he found out she was in town. He had to find this Zabuza Momochi as soon as possible, beat him up, get info on the whereabouts of his friend then beat him up again. In that order.
'Don't pout. Unlike you who only has a rocking body going for you, this lady right here got that and a big brain to boot.'
"Did you just call me hot?." Naruto asked with a smirk. There was a pause. Probably she just realized what she had said and was blushing up a storm. Naruto snickered to himself.
'D-do you want my help or not?!.'
"I do I do."
'Hmmph, at least you know what's good for you. Like I said, although Zabuza is a ghost he does appear from time to time and majority of the time he is sighted at an underground auction or black market, searching for one device or the other. Zabuza's crime story started with him stealing a military grade device, if I were a betting girl then I'd put my money on Zabuza that whatever stole requires a lot more than ambition to function. He's likely buying other technology to complete or repair it. Either way, this explains why such a high profile felon would participate in a convenience store massacre.'
"Ah..." Naruto abruptly stopped moving.
'So that's it...' He thought with a sigh. The girl's words had made him realize it, albeit a bit too late. Naruto had walked out of the Yaoyorozu compound and now made his way through the streets. The blonde took a stop by a street bench and sat down. His eyes gazed at nothing in particular in thought.
The case of Mr Yamada. He hadn't really thought about it. When he saw the crime scene he assumed his assassin friend was involved and was honestly enraged by the discovery.
How dare she target a man like that just to spite him?. Naruto's anger quickly turned cold and instead of going about fuming, he decided to calmly wait for the time they met, then he would get a proper explanation out of the assassin. Either way, Naruto harboured the thought at the back of his mind that Mr Yamada only died that day because of him.
He didn't permit himself to come to terms with it or dwell on it, at least not now. All that could be to him as things were was a distraction. First he had to find the man's killer, then he could delve into other things.
Finding out that Mr Yamada was not killed by the person he thought hardly changed anything. To say the truth, this made him feel at bit better. He was less livid at his friend and could now channel the boiling rage in his heart at a person he didn't care an ounce for.
However, after the word's of his blonde friend, Naruto was at a loss at how he should feel or react. Before he filed the reason Mr Yamada was targeted as spite. It didn't make it any better, however the fact was that spite could get anybody else killed. It wasn't about Mr Yamada at all, he was just unfortunate. Knowing the reason for the spite, Naruto could convince himself during quiet moments that it was an accident. A misunderstanding. Something, anything that wasn't as bad as his outright involvement killing the man.
But now...
It was exactly what it appeared to be. Zabuza Momochi was a known buyer of peculiar technology. He went about to underground sales events, auctions and black markets in the hopes of acquiring something useful for his ambitions. It wasn't a stretch to say wherever hard to find high tech was Zabuza wouldn't be far behind.
This explained why a man of his caliber stooped so low as to murder a petty store owner. Naruto had put out an order through Mr Yamada's name in a bid to elude the watchful eyes of the JHA as he made plans of his own. His order fit into the category of Zabuza Momochi's interest. Somehow word got to the man, which wasn't hard to figure out since the man likely had a connection to the top illegal brokers in the country. Somebody was either careless or avaricious enough to drop Mr Yamada's name and caused the ex-marine felon to pay the store owner an unfortunate visit.
How his assassin friend fitted into all of this was still yet to be determined. What Naruto understood was that he was the main reason Mr Yamada lost his life. It wasn't out of an unreasonable spite, it wasn't an accident. It was simply because he had involved a defenceless man in things he normally would have no business being around in his lifetime. He killed Mr Yamada.
"...You destroy everything you touch..." a voice of a memory from long ago resounded in Naruto's mind.
Naruto eyes went wide and he immediately covered his mouth. All of a sudden his face had gone pale and he was covered in bullets of sweat from head to toe. The blonde's breathing rapidly rose and became ragged, his irises shook and displayed an expression of horror. His teeth began to clatter and his eyes turned hollower and hollower by the second.
His grip on his face tightened so much it made his jawbone creak from the strain. A little more pressure and he would shatter half of his face.
"I already told you I'm sorry..." He whispered out. His eyes stared into nothingness and his expression had turned to one of the dead. He said the words robotically, but even the hollowness resounded with an abyss like pain. Endless torment.
"...forgive me..."
Those were Naruto's unconscious words before he descended in a comatose like state for an interval. The urgent voice of his blonde friend resounded.
"BOSS!."
Naruto's eyes snapped wide open. He rubbed then with a groan. His vision was foggy from the strain of keeping his eyes open without blinking them for an extended period. He shivered as he felt a cold breeze blew past his sweat soaked body. He was completely drenched from head to toe in his own sweat. Naruto rubbed his forehead with a sigh.
He had lost himself in his memories again. This was the second time in two days now...
"Boss, are you okay?!." The girls concerned voice came again.
Naruto's vision slowly became clear and he found the flawlessly smooth face of his blonde friend. She was here, literally. Naruto thought she had spoke to him through the phone, but she was physically crouching in front of him.
'She snuck out of school to find me?.' Naruto thought. A feeling of warmth breezed into his heart. The girl had a look of deep concern on her face, though he beautiful brown eyes were hidden by the odd looking 'swirling glasses' she wore, it was still clear as day to see.
Speaking of day... Naruto looked up at the sky with a lukewarm expression. 'It's already evening...' Naruto thought. He had been in his 'funk' for close to seven whole hours.
"Boss..." The girl nervously grasped his larger hand in her small ones.
Naruto looked down at the shaggy dressed haired girl and gave a light smile. "I'm fine Shiho." Naruto said in an assuring voice. He placed his free hand over her hers and gave her a light nod. It was a soothing experience to watch the worry drain from the girl's face. Naruto's face equally lit up, regaining it's original smiley default appearance.
"You scared me." Shiho sighed in relief. Naruto gave her an apologetic smile, unsure of what to say in response. "When you weren't responding I tried to sneak out to get you immediately but I got caught. It was only after classes were over and my two hours of detention were served that I could successfully break out and find you." The girl explained in a cute fashion.
She pushed up her glances for time to time as she spoke. Just watching her caused Naruto to smile. "What are you smiling at?. Baka, do you know the entire school's been looking for you?. Even Allmight has been out the whole day trying to find you!. Class teacher too... somehow he still made out time to make me serve my detention." Shiho muttered out the last part with a grumble about a teacher who didn't have any of his priorities straight.
"I'll probably be serving a year in detention after go back." Naruto said with a chuckle.
"A year?. You'll get at least four hundred years." Shiho said matter-of-factly. Naruto chuckled lightly. "Ah right... I was able to get to my laptop after detention and I found out something huge." Shiho said, spreading her hands out to show just how huge the matter was.
Naruto raised an eyebrow in curiosity. "What's that?."
Shiho's expression turned stone serious. "It's the board. They had a meeting today. They're concerned about the news of you admitting to have killed two people. Though the media is depicting you as a hero, they likely have sensed and element of foul play in the issue. Things have gotten really dicey all of a sudden. Both the JHA and UA are in a dispute over who should have custody of you. As things stand, finding you is a top priority for both the JHA and UA. I suspect the two forces have clashed on different fronts, and as a result have slowed down both their efforts, which explains why they haven't found you yet. Still it's only a matter of time..." Shiho said with a helpless expression.
Naruto gave her a questioning look which she responded to with a bitter smile. "Boss, it was decided by the JHA that Elder East would personally bring you in. So boss has both Allmight and Elder East personally looking for him. It can't decide whether it's impressive or terrifying."
Naruto scratched his cheek with a thoughtful expression. "The old man and Allmight huh..." Ironically he had just broadened young Izuku's horizons about the secret top ten the day before yesterday, now two out of the top three were competing to find him. Just as Shiho said, Naruto didn't know whether to be impressed with himself or fearful for his life.
To be caught inbetween a clash of that magnitude was absolutely not something he wanted at this stage in his life. He was still young and had a lot to look forward to. Naruto's expression turned determined in an instant. "I've decided. I don't want to be found by either of those two freaks." Naruto declared.
"Shiho my darling..." Naruto gripped the girl's hands tighter. Hands that they had both forgotten were still held in Naruto's. Shiho's blush from Naruto calling her his darling magnified when she realized this. "On the 'fucked' scale, who amongst the crazed people looking for me do you think I'd get fucked the mildest by?." Naruto asked.
Shiho would've have rolled her eyes at him but she was too 'occupied' to do so. He wouldn't see it in any case. "Honestly it doesn't look good for any one of the people who can actually bring you in. Those who would treat you kindly are probably in search for you with those who would seek your harm. The best option is principal Nezu in my opinion... He's high profile enough to search by himself and is the least likely to get violent with you. On the other hand, if you turn yourself in to him that translates to stricter punishment."
Naruto stroked his imaginary beard in thought. He thought of the principal too, but he always felt uncomfortable around the intelligent rodent. No matter how grandiose his achievements and his status, Naruto couldn't see him as anything more than a talking rat most of the time. It was a great deal of strain on his psyche to form another opinion of the principal aside from 'food'.
To think he would have to turn to the character he catalogued as fast food in his mind to give him a violence free punishment. Naruto was completely disgusted. He was unwilling goddammit. Since when did the predator lower itself to the prey
"I've decided. I rather get caught by Elder East and Allmight at the same time than turn myself in to a fucking rat. I'm genuinely upset that you brought such a option up." Naruto said with a scolding tone.
Shiho sweatdropped. 'You genuinely considered it though. It was written all over your face.' Shiho thought. A cold breeze blew past her causing her to shiver and lightly commented that she should've brought a jacket.
Naruto was about to make a perverted joke when something crossed his mind. His smile fell from his face, he rose to his feet and he ordered Shiho to sit behind him. The girl tried to offer up an argument but he easily pressed her down on the chair. Naruto began to look around the park he was in with solemn expression. He didn't have the best of memories, but luckily he had someone who did behind him. "Shiho, what was the weather forecast for this night."
The girl raised an eyebrow at the strange question. She adjusted her glasses and answered in the end. "Supposed to be relatively windy exactly 15.4 degrees celsius." She responded. As soon as she did her eyes widened in realization, then her expression turned vigilant. Shiho now understood why Naruto asked her to stay behind him.
"Yeah. Thought as much. If I'm to guess, then right now it's about 5 degrees. It's damn near almost freezing." Naruto said. His eyes narrowed as he stared at a particular tree a couple of meters away from himself and Shiho. "There's somebody else here." Naruto said with certainty.
From a very young age he had learnt to never take strange situations for granted, and the weather suddenly changing was well into the strange category. He also learnt to always trust his instincts. People with feral quirks tended to be more perceptive to things in general, and were more especially sensitive to danger.
When Naruto had a feeling he didn't doubt it. He immediately got into a defensive position and prepared himself for the worst.
'The feeling is way more intense than almost anything I've felt before...' Naruto said to himself.
His eyes were still fixed on the pine tree up ahead. He was certain whoever it was that alternated the weather was around that area, he couldn't sense them or anything, he just knew it. He felt it in his gut. But not only that... Whether it was his sixth sense or just a gut feeling, Naruto wasn't sure, but he could not doubt what whichever one it was told him. The person hiding in the shadows were outrageously powerful.
"You can come out already. There's no use, I already know you're there." Naruto said to the mystery person(s).
He waited for a whole minute but there wasn't any response. The Uzumaki teen frowned. He wasn't any closer to doubting himself than he was a minute ago. There was absolutely somebody hiding in the shadows, he was certain of it. Naruto didn't understand why the person or persons still hid from him. They had already been exposed, so why keep up the charade?.
'Are they trying to lure me away from Shiho?.' Naruto wondered. Thinking about it, the blonde became convinced that that was precisely what the enemy wanted. Naruto snorted.
"If you want to play hide and seek that's fine. But I got no reason to seek you out. If you don't come out I'll just leave!." Naruto yelled at the hidden enemy. Still there was no response, the whiskered blonde frowned slightly before shrugging in helplessness. "Suit yourself!." Naruto said, and brazenly gave his back to the enemy as he turned to Shiho.
The girl had a slight nervous expression, however if one were to look into her eyes they would see that she was mostly calm. Though Shiho didn't have the supernatural perception of Naruto, she too was no stranger to danger and knew when her life was at risk. Still, she maintained her calm. It was both a testament to her levelheadedness and her trust in the blonde teen in front of her.
The last thing Shiho would do under her boss' protection was panic. No matter what happened, she would not give him cause to suspect that she was afraid. If she did then it would without a doubt affect his efficiency.
A Naruto fighting without inhibitions was the safest and most reliable Naruto to be around. So despite seeing her boss turning his back to the suspected direction of the hidden enemy, Shiho did not panic or say a thing. Instead she keep her eyes on the tree. Since she was wearing the kind of glasses she was, it was difficult to tell what exactly she was looking at unless she turned to the direction of it. Shiho took advantage of this and glared at the suspicious tree from the corners of her eyes.
"Whoever's hiding out there's a pussy. It's getting late, let's go back." Naruto said.
Shiho smiled and gave a nod in response. She stood up and kept her head straight, however her eyes were still glued to that tree. Whatever emerged from it would not catch them unawares, Shiho promised herself. She wasn't much in a physical confrontation, however what she did know was how to observe things. She had a perfect memory and keen eyes. If anything came from that direction, then Shiho was sure she wouldn't miss it. Mid-thought Shiho suddenly felt Naruto wrap an arm around her waist, and before she could even turn to question to the blonde they were leaping several metres into the air.
BOOM!
Shiho's eyes widened in shock and her face paled. Not from her fear for heights, rather the three meter wide and almost a meter deep crater formed from the powerful blow of the hidden enemy. It was a single punch. One surprise attack that Shiho hadn't seen coming in the slightest; it did that.
If that blow had made contact or anything relatively close to it she would be meat putty on the ground right now.
'Where did he–'
"Keep your mind clear. If you panic in battle you will die!." Naruto's suddenly interrupted Shiho's thoughts. The glasses wearing girl looked up at the blonde and found he was completely unfazed. His face was calm and much like he had told her, his own mind was serene. He wore a blank but calm expression, his blue eyes stayed firmly on the enemy's figure.
Shiho's expression abruptly turned calm. Seeing that her boss remained calm even after the surprise attack reassured her once more. With him here there wasn't any reason for her to lose her wit. The smartest thing was to remain calm as he'd asked and do her best to contribute to this unexpected confrontation in the park.
"Roger!." Shiho said then immediately turned to the figure responsible for the surprise attack with sharp eyes. She tapped the side of her glasses and enhanced her visual prowess with one move. Now she could see the face of the enemy clearly.
The man appeared to be in his mid thirties. He had a stout and muscular physique, long black hair and a scar running down from the middle of his forehead down to his chin. The man had disproportionately large arms, they were wide as tree trunks and it appeared as though the man had the forearms of three large men merged into one to form his. His fingers were as thick as Shiho's wrists, and his fists were as large as her head and then some. Just looking at his arms one would know that the man was responsible for the powerful punch earlier.
The man wore black pants and a pair of boots but left his upper body exposed. His broad chest was covered in bushy black hair and had a large 'X' shaped scar on it.
Naruto landed on top a statue by a fountain in the park and adjusted his hold on Shiho. The bulky man turned to their direction with a menacing green, his body hunched over due to the weight of his arms. Naruto wondered how a person with such a disproportionate body could move so nimbly.
'Just now, if I hadn't moved instinctively Shiho would've been flattened.' Naruto thought with a frown.
He eyed the legs of the man, and found that while they were quite large, they were still a long ways from his arms. At least from the physical standpoint, they looked in noway powerful enough to grant the man the speed to almost get a drop on him like that. It didn't make any sense, but Naruto decided not to dwell on the matter too long. "Shiho, you got an ID on this big guy?." Naruto asked.
"I'm afraid not boss... Whoever he is, he's not in the JHA's top thousand home or abroad." Shiho said with a shake of her head.
Naruto hummed in thought. Now that made even less sense. Not in the top one thousand?. People who could hit as hard as this guy were easily in the home list top hundred and this bulky man didn't even make top thousand?. By the looks of it he was Japanese, so that meant he would definitely be in the home list and not abroad.
Shiho had memorised the top quirk users list compiled by the JHA, she reviewed it every single day and made the necessary changes as she went on. Shiho had a damn good memory, that was one of the reasons why Naruto kept her so close. Her intelligence was exceptionally high and that memory of her had been a lifesaver on more than one occasion. Naruto had learnt to never doubt Shiho's memory, so if she said this strong guy wasn't in the top thousand, no matter how odd it sounded he was going to believe her. Because it was without a doubt the truth.
Since he couldn't get information on the enemy from his human super computer, Naruto was forced to turn to other tactics. "You there, what's your name?!." Naruto asked the large armed man.
The man was still in the middle of chuckling darkly at them when those words came. The man facefaulted then glared at Naruto in annoyance. "What, you don't know me?!."
Naruto nodded. "Honestly, I have no idea. Who the fuck are you?."
The man fumed in anger. How could Naruto not know him?. Naturally he would know all about his target, and if he were an assassin it wouldn't be strange that Naruto didn't know who he was. Maybe he would know of his reputation but not him per se. But he wasn't an assassin.
He was a bona-fide villain, and that meant he didn't have a code of secrecy. He moved, quite blatantly he might add, out in the open. Don't judge this man by that surprise attack of his, he was an out and out brawler. He prepared to get all up in his opponents face and all up in the news too.
'Well it's been a couple of years since I did anything noteworthy, but c'mon... To not even recognize me?. I stand out –for Christ sake look at my arms!. Who can forget these arms?!.' The man was almost stomping his feet in anger. How hateful. This younger generation were the absolute worst, they were so ignorant.
'I thought you'd be different boy, but in the end you're just a dumb ignorant kid...' The man sighed and calmed himself. No reason he should let the ignorance of greenhorns get to him. So what if they didn't know him?. They'd learn today.
The bulky man puffed out his chest with the intent of giving off a powerful appearance, but only succeeded in the doing the opposite. Due to his heavy arms the man had developed a bent kneed and hunched posture overtime. When he stuck out his chest like that he rather than a awe-inspiring appearance he looked suggestive instead.
Actually, he looked more like he was about to start twerking than anything. Both Naruto and Shiho's expressions twisted in disgust. They had no clue why the man bent his body like he was about to give a person a lap dance, but they absolutely did not appreciate this horrific sight. Unbeknownst to the thoughts and the fiery curses running through the minds of his onlookers, the bulky man announced himself in a loud and proud voice.
"I am the gigantic fisted villain, D'hammer D'huka!." he declared.
Both Shiho and Naruto were a little distracted by the man's coquettish pose thus did not clearly hear him when he introduced himself. After the words came, but Naruto had to do a double take on the man and stared at him as though he was crazy for a moment before breaking into different reactions. Shiho still had a look of disgust but had a slight blush on her face. She glared at the man as though he was her greatest enemy in this world. Gone was the remimant fear from his initial attack, all that was left was a deep seated hatred and disgust.
As for Naruto he burst into uncontrollable laughter. The blonde clutched his stomach with his free hand and almost dropped Shiho out of laughter.
It was D'hammer D'huka's turn to stare at the duo like they were crazy. What kind of reaction was this?. The girl's reaction albeit a little strange made some sense. Perhaps he had killed or hurt somebody she knew, that would explain the look of hatred in her eyes.
The blush was what he couldn't understand though. 'Am I that charming when I strike a pose?.' D'hammer D'huka wondered.
He turned to the still laughing blonde. This reaction he couldn't make any sense of, and was increasingly getting irritated by. Who burst into laughter after a person introduced themselves?.
'Is he making fun of me?.' D'hammer D'huka asked himself. He immediately felt his blood boil with anger at the thought. He was being taken for a fool. "You brat, are you mocking me?!." D'hammer D'huka demanded.
"Why would my boss do that?. You've already done a fine job of it yourself. Shamelessly calling yourself something so inappropriate, humph." Shiho said and with that looked away from the man as though he was something unsightly.
A vein bulged out on D'hammer D'huka's scarred forehead. "What did you say?!." He roared in anger. How dare this puny call him names?. He almost crushed her like a bug a little while ago and she still had the guts to run off her mouth?. What was worse was that the blonde boy was still laughing. D'hammer D'huka almost vomited blood out to anger. This was really vexing.
"You heard me!. Hmmph. Here you are posturing proudly with a villain name like that. No wonder you're not in the top thousand, with a name as embarrassing as that it's not a surprise the JHA wants absolutely nothing to do with you. Even as a villain, you're too detestable to be accepted, even if it's your mother she would still say no to you."
D'hammer D'huka roared in rage and struggled to come up with words to counter the criticism of the smug sounding teenage girl. He couldn't take it anymore and bit his own tongue in frustration. Blood spewed out of his mouth and oozed down his chin.
'Goddammit... Goddammit!. GODDAMMIT!. Why am I being mocked by children?!. Fuck me... why are you still laughing you blonde bastard?!. Can't you see that I'm very angry?. Or do you have a death wish?. And this girl... criticizing me is fine, but why bring my mother into it?. Are you trying to anger me to death?. Keep it up you little devils and you just might succeed. Damn you two, you're trying to assassinate me by my own hand. There's ruthless killing and there's just wrong... This is right here is wrong!. I wonder who among us is the real villain here?.' D'hammer D'huka heart was bitter and full of grievances and complaints. He came here for a fight and not to be bullied by an eighteen year old girl.
He jumped them first, so why was he now the one getting a beatdown?. It was verbal one, but it was still just as effective. He was bleeding. The two evil doers almost made him bite off his own tongue and commit suicide out of anger.
Naruto finally wheezed and after a few giggles he eventually stopped laughing. There was still a huge annoying grin on his face that D'hammer D'huka wanted nothing more than to smack off. "Come now Shiho, don't judge people based on your own perception of what's normal. Who knows, his mom may have even inspired the name." Naruto said with a giggle. Shiho rolled her eyes at the whiskered teen but smiled nonetheless.
"Keep my mom out of your damned mouths!." D'hammer D'huka raged. What was with these kids and talking about his mother?. Did they have no regard for the elderly?. Bastards. "My mother was a wonderful woman and she she raised me right. Of course she inspired me." D'hammer D'huka said, not caring about the contradiction in his words that a his mother raised him right though he was a villain now.
Naruto cared little for the contradiction and nodded happily. "So I was right, she did inspire the name."
"Well... yes." D'hammer D'huka said with a slightly unsure expression. Honestly speaking the name was mostly inspired by his quirk. However, he would feel bad if he took credit away from his mom, so he went along with Naruto's words and agreed.
"Your pop too?." Naruto said, barely holding back a snicker.
"Of course!." D'hammer D'huka said proudly. He inherited his quirk from his father, so without a doubt he deserved credit for the name.
Shiho rolled her eyes and added dryly. "Why stop there, your entire family must have inspired you too."
"Naturally they did." D'hammer D'huka said proudly.
Naruto smirked. "So your mom, dad and your whole family are hookers?."
"Without a doubt!." D'hammer D'huka said proudly at first then his eyes widened when he realized what Naruto had said. He glared at the blonde in rage. "What did y–"
"That's what you said though Mr Danna The Hooker." Naruto snickered. He knew from the onset that he likely misheard the bulky guy's words, however what he heard was just so hilarious that he couldn't stop himself from laughing.
Try keeping a straight face when a grown man strikes a seductive pose and declares something about being fisted and that his villain name was Danna The Hooker. Now the oaf had gone as far as implying that all his family were in the business of being hookers. This was just too good, Naruto couldn't hold back his laughter anymore and wheezed again.
Shiho as well could help but smile when she saw the expression of D'hammer D'huka. Just like Naruto, she had misheard D'hammer D'huka's name as Danna The Hooker. Shiho wasn't sure if she misheard the man. That disturbing pose he took before he said those words made her suspect that that was truly the man's villain name. It wouldn't be the first time she's seen a quirk user with an inappropriate alias.
D'hammer D'huka didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Everything made sense now, the girl's strange blush and the brat's continuous laughter, he could finally make heads of it. It was all a big misunderstanding, they had misheard him when he said his name.
D'hammer D'huka knew this but still, he wasn't so sure. For the girl it was likely that that was the case, but for Naruto... His eyes told a different story. It looked to him like Naruto realised that he misheard him, yet pretend as though he didn't to ridicule him. D'hammer D'huka's felt his chest tighten up and his breaths became more and more ragged from anger.
Naruto was the one who had conned him into implying something so vile about his family... The little bastard knew exactly what he was doing and played on his love for his family and made him pass credit for such a dishonorable status. His hardworking father, his kind hearted mother, his brothers and sisters... His whole damned family. He called all of them hookers with his own mouth.
'F...' Even in D'hammer D'huka's mind he struggled to find the right words. He had to consciously hold himself back from biting his tongue from frustration again. He stared at the still laughing figure of Naruto with bloodshot eyes. "Kill... I WILL KILL YOU." D'hammer D'huka clenched his fists and said in a guttural voice.
When he saw that Naruto paid no heed to him and went on laughing to his heart content, D'hammer D'huka almost had a seizure. 'Screw it!.' He told himself and without another thought he leaped from the ground towards Naruto with both his fists raised up above his head. The crater in the ground significantly deepened from the power of his leap, a ring of dust and debris blew out from under him.
D'hammer D'huka understood that he was being hasty. He was letting the taunting words of junior cloud his judgement, but...
'KILL'
It was just too much. He couldn't permit such a disgrace. He couldn't live with it.
'KILL!.'
This wasn't the plan. In doing this he would most probably damn himself but it was worth it.
'I'LL KILL YOU!.'
It was okay if it was just him that they embarrassed. But to use his family... D'hammer D'huka could take a lot but not that. Absolutely not. His family was his bottom line, and anyone who crossed that bottom line was an irreconcilable enemy for life.
'I MUST KILL YOU!.'
Even if it was 'him'!. Even if the losses outweighed the gains. He didn't care. Not for his identity nor for the consequences. All he knew was he had to... he must kill this blonde brat.
"YOU'RE DEAD UZUMAKI NARUT–"
However... Life was often a disappointment. D'hammer D'huka stared at his 'target' with wide eyes. In the real world things tended to never go as you wanted them to. There were good days, and there were bad ones. All things that drew breath from this Earth had to struggle to live, no matter what, one way or the other it was a struggle. And such was life. It seemed endless mixed in all types of struggles, experiences of joy, loss, anger, betrayal and pain.
All of the parts of life, the good ones and the bad ones, they made life seem eternal... Longer. Then reality would come and smash all this illusions to pieces, and show to all who were deceived by the experiences of good and bad days that eternity and long lasting was just a figment of their imagination. In a flash all the experiences of joy, happiness, sadness and loss were rendered moot in a single moment.
When death claimed you the actions prior to it, your whole life as it flashed before your eyes became meaningless. Why were you even here?. What lead to this?. Did you have to come this far, and now you did what was the point?. Surely you wouldn't get an answer before the darkness claimed you. That in itself were as meaningless as the lives we lead prior to our demise.
Such was the case for D'hammer D'huka. He had similar thoughts go through his mind. He questioned his actions and his emotions one last time before instant death claimed him.
With a crash, his body slumped face flat into the ground and blood gushed out of the fist size hole in his chest. With his face buried in the concrete, the final expression of the large armed villain was left a mystery.
Shiho crinkled her nose in discomfort. She stared at the corpse of the bullheaded villain briefly before looking away in disgust. Her stomach was already responding to the brutal scene, and Shiho knew if Naruto released her from his steady hold she would vomit. She could never get used to it... Watching people die. As a child it greatly disturbed her when she saw it in movies, and even as a teenager the riot clips she watched left her with terrible stomach cramps. Now she had seen a man die in the flesh. The same man who was making a fool out himself earlier, who was yelling like a moron, who looked so alive. He now laid face into the concrete, dead.
"Don't let your guard down. There's still more of them." Naruto's voice resounded.
Shiho turned to the handsome face of her friend and then down to his bloodstained hand. The hand he had shoved into D'hammer D'huka's chest before he could react.
Shiho could barely keep up with the blonde's movement and only knew it was done when the body had almost touched the ground. She knew it would end like this for the burly man from the moment she saw that calm look in Naruto's eyes. He was a very expressive and outspoken person on the exterior, but that was only in casual situations. That was only for casual emotions. He wore a smile on his face and it was a casual one. He laughed but it wasn't real. D'hammer D'huka had made the costly mistake of thinking that Naruto's reactions were genuine, that he expressed his true emotions and now he was dead.
The blonde calmly stared ahead with serene eyes. The blue orbs that normally shone vibrantly in a fiery light now held a cold, merciless and ruthless one. The pools were like two bottomless pits as he stared on ahead, completely ignoring the body of the man he just killed. Blood dripped from his free hand and he didn't mind it. The body nor the blood of D'hammer D'huka did not deserve his attention. He was just a passing nuisance, one that Naruto had marked for death the second he his fists on Shiho.
Now he was dead. Still, the cold anger in Naruto's eyes had not quelled, not even a little. There was still someone here. The drop of the temperature could not be ignored. Whoever it was, they likely had an ice related quirk, as well as a means to aid D'hammer D'huka to almost get the drop on him.
Naruto hadn't turned his fist on the burly man immediately after he the attack for multiple reasons. The first being Shiho. She was quite clearly the target of the late burly man and was possibly the target of the hidden enemy. Naruto could not take the chance of turning his attention from Shiho, even if it was for a moment so he remained on the defensive. The second was because of the odd manner in which D'hammer D'huka had made his appearance. It was instant, seemingly out of nowhere.
Looking at the large armed man, there was no indication that he possessed another quirk, however, Naruto couldn't take the risk. According to the data from the JHA's investigations, in this era one out of a hundred babies born with quirks possessed another quirk, either inherited from their parents or developed naturally. Naruto had to assume D'hammer D'huka was one of such kind of people to stay on the safe side. The last reason Naruto stayed his hand was to confirm whether or not the other hidden enemy would make an appearance after the sneak attack failed.
The drop of the temperature could not be ignored, and if it wasn't the man that was responsible for it Naruto could not recklessly make a move. Naruto was positive that the individual was close, and would not take the chance of exposing Shiho to another sneak attack.
After D'hammer D'huka had an outburst, Naruto cleared all his doubts and no longer had to hold himself back. He lured the man in with mockery with the aid of Shiho and when the opportunity was ripe he took it without hesitation. Since the man charged at him, this way it he wouldn't have to endanger Shiho to take him down.
The manner in which the burly man attacked them the second time helped Naruto clear his doubts about the man having a dual quirk. His mutated quirk was in no way powerful enough to boost his speed to absurd level it appeared to have earlier. The hidden enemy also made no move to interrupt the foolish lunge either, an indication that D'hammer D'huka was expendable.
With that Naruto had no scruples any longer. He let the calm anger that has accumulated in his heart erupt with a single fist. In a flash the man who had dared raised his hand against one of his people. His bleeding body lay dead on the ground a few metres away from Naruto's height, yet he didn't spare him a single glance.
The calm anger in his eyes didn't quell, not even a little. He had the same cold and ruthless expression as he stared on, awaiting the orchestrator of this failed attack.
The blonde whiskered teen didn't have to wait too long after the demise of D'hammer D'huka for the others to appear. The space between the tree distorted and split into two. Two women emerged from the void.
One, who was the taller between the two, walked a few steps behind the other. The features of the woman was hidden by a silver mask. She had black hair that she wore in a single bun. She had a slender and alluring physique; standing at about 5'10 with long legs, shapely hips, a small waist and perky breasts.
She was dressed in a purple dress with a split on the middle. The split exposed her leggings clad legs and toned stomach. On her dress and pants were various armour plates on placed on different segments of her body; her neck, bust, upper back, shoulders, elbows, lower arm and wrists, waist and knees. She wore armoured gloves and boots to complete her outfit. There was a golden staff with a big purple jewel embedded at the top in her hand.
The shorter of the duo was a good couple inches shorter than her partner, standing at 5 feet and 2 inches. She had jaw length silver colored hair and and a petite yet athletic physique. Her face was left uncovered unlike her partner, leaving her beautiful features for all to admire. She had silver colored pretty eyes, a lighter shade than her eyes, supple pink lips and a cute tiny nose. The woman did not possess the natural curves of her partner, however she was equally attractive in her own right. She had a more cute than sexy appeal to her.
The silver haired woman was dressed corporately in an expensive looking suit. She forwent wearing a tie and wore a single red ruby necklace around her collar. Looking closer, a similar gem snugly hung on her armoured waistband. Aside from the gem, the only other non-compulsory accessory oh her person were transparent rimmed glasses. The silver haired woman's expression matched her corporate dress cold, she had a ice cold look in her eyes and an unreadable expression.
Shiho recognized the shorter woman the second her eyes landed on her. She could never forget a face like that. Now she understood why her boss was still on high alert. A clown like D'hammer D'huka would never cause him to make such a scary expression. She knew it had to be something else. Now that 'she' had appeared, Shiho understood. If it was her then everything made sense.
Naruto's high alert, the strange change in the weather and that dreadful feeling like the shinigami was breathing down her neck. D'hammer D'huka could never be responsible for that. It was definitely this woman. Contrary her outwardly cute appearance, this woman's reputation was the farthest thing from the word. This woman...
The taller woman whistled in amusement. "Killed without hesitation. It's almost like when I met the goddess." She said with a laugh. Her face was pointed at the direction of Naruto, so it could be assumed she was somehow staring at him through the mask.
"Don't compare them." The silver haired woman said in a sharp tone. Her eyes turned to the tall blonde teenager holding a fragile looking glasses wearing girl protectively. Her eyes roamed to his free blood soaked hand. She shook her head disapproving. Her partner was wrong, the goddess would kill the man without a doubt but she would not allow his plebeian blood to stain her saintly hands. "He's still an ignorant child." She said.
Naruto narrowed his eyes at the mention of 'goddess'. 'Could it be...' The Uzumaki wondered and clenched his fist. If it was what he suspected then he absolutely must get this women to talk. The cold anger in Naruto's eyes finally dissipated. His blue eyes turned golden in an instant and a predatory smile appeared on his face. "Well well well, what do we have here. Two beautiful ladies emerging out of portal to see this ignorant child?." Naruto placed his bloodied hand on his chest, not caring about the stain that it would leave on him.
The silver haired woman's eyes narrowed at the action.
"If you wanted to see me, then you should've just ask. Now you've gone and made me kill your friend." Naruto said and turned to the body of D'hammer D'huka and clicked his tongue.
"He wasn't our friend!." The taller woman quipped.
Naruto's face turned 'relieved'. "Ah that's a relief. That guy jumped us so I killed him, sorry for the mess. I thought I offended you guys, turns out there's still a chance we can be friends." Naruto said with a grin. "Name's Uzumaki Naruto. This is my girlfriend, her name is Shiho. Just Shiho." Naruto said.
Shiho turned pink at the her boss' words. She had no idea what he was playing at with those words but smartly stayed silent. Whenever her boss was 'working' it was better if she stayed silent. Whatever it was that he was playing at, in due time she would find out. All she had to do was remain calm and wait for that moment, like she always did. She trusted him completely.
"Girlfriend huh..." The silver haired woman mumbled and gave Shiho a brief glance. She turned her eyes back to the grinning whiskered blonde. "What qualifications did you have to be friends with us?." She asked. The taller woman gasped at her words and was about to say something. She raised her hand and stopped her. "Quiet." She glared at the woman from the corner of her eyes. If their standing positions weren't enough of an indication, this made it clear that the silver haired woman was the lead of the duo.
Naruto scratched his cheek in confusion. "Qualifications?. I've never heard of anyone needing to be qualified to befriend people before."
"You've heard it now." The silver haired woman gave a sharp respond.
"I see..." Naruto said. He stared directly into the cold eyes of the silver haired woman and smiled lightly. "Is it okay if I demonstrate my qualifications?." Naruto asked casually.
"Whatever suits your taste." The taller woman said with a shrug. Her partner remained silent and didn't support her words, she didn't dispute it however so it was probably fine.
"Sweet." Naruto said. He then smacked his head lightly like he had just remembered something. "Oh I forgot, can my girlfriend be our audience?." Naruto asked, this time he directed the question straight at the silver haired woman.
The silver haired woman stared at him briefly, Naruto couldn't tell what she was thinking or if it was a glare or a simple stare. The woman eventually nodded then went back to staring at nothing in particular. Naruto gave her a small glance before turning his attention to Shiho.
"Shiho my darling, you just sit here. I'll go show them a trick the old man told me always impresses women." Naruto said and rubbed his palms together 'evilly'. Shiho's response was a light giggle, however, her eyes told a different story. She gave a light nod and did as instructed. Naruto gave her a light peck on the cheek, which she responded to with a bright blush, before he let her go and jumped off the statue.
He landed a few metres away from the two women gave them a playful wave. "May I start now?."
"Go for it." The armoured woman replied with a thumbs-up.
"O–"
(Insert soundtrack - Furioso in F Minor by Nicholas Britell [00:00-01:51])
Naruto started to speak then suddenly shot forward towards the two women with a murderous expression. Gone were the playful and childish expression, the smile and the friendly look in his eyes. The cold anger surfaced once more. Naruto fists were targeted at the silver haired woman but somehow he found himself in front of the masked armoured woman. Naruto felt like his brain had been scrambled, his vision blurred and his body felt heavy.
'Instant teleportation!. I knew it.' Naruto thought. The armoured woman directed a kick at him while he was still disorientated. Naruto showed off an impressive instinctive reaction and ducked under the kick. As soon as he did his unleashed a powerful upper, planning to take advantage of the woman's raised leg. However, she disappeared in a flash before his punch could land. Quite fortunately in her case.
BOOOOM
The air above Naruto's head strangely exploded. The trees within a five metre radius were harshly uprooted by the shock wave of the powerful blow, the ground within that radius aside from the spot Naruto was standing on was smashed into pieces. The blonde's eyes darted around the park. There was a ferocious look in his eyes as he searched about for the masked woman. When the blonde turned to his back he couldn't help but frown.
The silver haired woman was still standing in the very same spot as before, within the blast radius of Naruto's exploding uppercut but she was completely fine.
The woman remained standing there despite the blonde's sudden attack. She didn't even budge. Her back was completely given to Naruto, and this caused the blonde to frown. This was arrogance of the highest degree. The woman didn't perceive him as a threat, so much so that she felt comfortable enough to leave her back expose to him.
"Didn't anybody teach you to never show the enemy your back?." Naruto stood straight and asked the woman.
The silver haired woman finally moved, however it was just to adjust her glasses. "You are not the enemy. You neither fit the category, nor do you have the capability to threaten my life. It would be pointless to keep my guard up against a child like you." The woman said in level voice. Her words sounded snide bit her tone was devoid of any elements of mockery. She honestly believed those words that she said and didn't mean them as an insult. Having her guard up against Naruto seemed a waste of time to her.
Naruto surprisingly didn't look offended by her words and instead grinned. "One ran, another stood. I guess that means I can threaten teleportation girl's life then?." Naruto said with a low chuckle.
"That's left to be se–" The woman started to say but was interrupted by the shrill scream of her partner. She turned to Naruto with narrow eyes. Then to her partner who emerged from a portal. The masked woman was clenching thigh in pain. There were was a large terrible looking gash on it, blood pooled out of her woman. Whatever had hit her had struck an artery in the process. If she was left without any medical attention she would without a doubt die.
"You were saying...?" Naruto said in a mocking tone. He was graced the rare sight of the silver haired woman frowning, the blonde gave her a beastly grin in response. "Come on don't look at me eyes like that. I'll be tempted to smash that pretty face in." Naruto said smilingly.
"Sorry commander, I got careless." The mask woman gasped out in a strain voice.
That punch just then from Naruto was nothing but a decoy. She made the mistake of agreeing with her commander's assessment of the blonde and let her guard down. She didn't even realize the hidden true attack until it almost ripped her leg off. If she had neutralized the threat a fraction of a second later she would've lost a leg.
'What a disgrace.' She clicked her tongue. Her eyes landed on Naruto once more, she sighed. She should've known he was planning something nasty when he did a that weird personality swap thing the goddess did. 'God the resemblance is almost fucking scary. What a little monster... To think he can already control his quirk to such a level. She said he would advance at an alarming rate, but this is a little too outrageous don't you think?.'
The silver haired woman regarded her comrade and sighed. "No. It was my fault. I underestimated him." The woman turned to Naruto, the expression on her face was completely different from the one she had regarded the blonde with earlier. Looking at the animal-like smile on his face she wondered why she still questioned it. Perhaps it was his uncanny resemblance to his father...
'No, it was my bias. I let my arrogance cloud my senses. He is a carbon of you goddess.' She thought. The silver woman lowered herself to a knee and bowed respectfully. "Subordinate greets the son of the goddess of second star, the living prophecy, saviour of humanity and the terror of the world; the immortal queen of the cosmos." The woman's expression was genuine and completely submissive.
To those who didn't understand her actions would seem as foolish and self-demeaning but she knew better. Nobody on this globe deserved her bow more that the this blonde teenager standing in front of her.
"Subordinate foolishly looked down on his highness, in doing so this one has contradicted the instructions of my goddess. I have sinned, I beg you your highness mete out punishment!." She said, shutting her eyes tightly, honestly awaiting punishment.
"Your highness mete out punishment!." The masked woman echoed. She had gotten on her knees as well, despite her wounds.
Shiho watched the sight in confusion. What the hell was happening?. She was in the process of carrying out the hidden instruction of her bus when they started fighting. Naruto had said he was going to show them a trick the old man had taught him, he didn't have to tell her that. He brought the old man up so she would know that he didn't have much confidence in beating those two, which was normal. That short woman especially was a problem. The chances of her boss beating her were especially thin.
Shiho understood this, so she did what Naruto implied that he wanted her to do. Call the old man. If it was him then they would be saved. Even a terrifying woman like this would have to be on guard against the notorious Elder East. Naruto was initially trying to escape the man's wrath, yet he instructed her to call him. This showed just how dangerous these women were and how little confidence Naruto had in his victory.
Now the fight was just in its early stages, a sudden attack from Naruto surprisingly came out successful and one of the women was injured. Shiho was briefly a celebratory spirit when the conversation between her boss and the silver haired woman was reaching its climax. Her mood rightly turned sour when she realized that the silver woman would now be the one directly engaging her boss.
What she didn't expect was that the woman would lower herself, not in surrender but in utmost submissiveness and reverence to her boss. She looked like a puppy in front of its master. Completely opposite from her attitude a moment ago, she was now prostrating to the same person she called an ignorant child like he was the son of a god.
Shiho had no idea just how correct her assessment was. That was exactly what the two women now saw Naruto as. Their doubts was clear, he was truly the one.
The 'one' in question was less freaked out by the sudden pledge of fealty from the two women. If anything Naruto was slightly disappointed that the fighting had ended so soon. The blonde sighed. "Stand up you two. We barely know each other, no need bow." Naruto said, suddenly feeling depressed.
He really wanted to test his hand against the dreaded Emprean Frost, unfortunately said woman was now bowing to him. From the looks of things, there was no chance of open hostility returning back to their former lovely relationship.
"We hear and obey." The two women responded in unison and rose to the feet. The taller of the duo did so with a groan. Naruto's eyebrows furrowed, he now felt bad for injuring the woman. Such an uncomfortable feeling. Minutes ago he felt frustrated that he hadn't ripped her leg off with the hidden attack.
"Do you have anything to help with her wound?." Naruto asked. The short woman dubbed as Empyrean Frost nodded. "Administer it." Naruto said and the woman immediately did as she was told. Naruto sweatdropped at the sight. 'If you had the means then why did it take you so long?.'
After treating her comrades wounds, Empyrean Frost turned to back to Naruto with a respectful expression. "It is not my intention to sound presumptuous, but we would like to have a word with your highness in private." Empyrean Frost said. She turned to Shiho with a sigh. "His highness' woman does not appear to know much, so..."
"She knows everything." Naruto said. Empyrean Frost raised an eyebrow at him skeptically, as if to say 'she clearly does not'. Naruto turned to the incredulous Shiho and back to Empyrean Frost and her subordinate and scratched the back of his head in embarrassment. "Uh it's a long story. It's better if you just see it for yourself." Naruto said. The silver haired woman looked confused but nodded in acceptance nonetheless. Naruto sighed in relief. It would be a bother to explain all that. The would see it for themselves in the end, so it was a waste of time. Experience was the greatest teacher after all.
Naruto left the two women and jogged to Shiho. He smiled at the confused looking glasses wearing girl then cupped his hands around his mouth. "Jump down, I'll catch you–" Even before Naruto's sentence could completely leave mouth Shiho leaped from the statue. The blonde yelped in surprise and quickly opened his hands to catch her. When she landed straight into his arms Naruto sighed in relief.
With the weird conversation he was having with who should be the enemy, Naruto thought that Shiho would doubt him a little. The girl not only did not doubt him, her trust in him seemed to have gone up. Naruto had no idea the effect the words; 'she knows everything' had on Shiho. From the girl's point of view she was very sure she in fact did not understand a thing, so when Naruto said those words it sounded like he wanted her there regardless. A silent indication that he was willing to share all his share all his secrets with her.
Unbeknownst to the whiskered teen his fellow blonde's feelings for him had deepened even further with a single sentence. Naruto carried Shiho back to the two powerful women. "We should get outta here. This place is mostly isolated since its part of the Yaoyorozu estate, however after the mess I made someone's bound to show up. And trust me when I say, I'm not the pro heroes favorite guy right now." Naruto said.
The damages he caused here would have to be paid by the Yaoyorozu family as long as the perpetrator wasn't caught. This made Naruto quite happy. The amount required was merely change to Mr Yaoyorozu, however to Naruto it was a bit of payback. Payback for kicking him out before he could take his daughter's virginity. Now he had to make his moves from outside, which was far more difficult.
"Let them come, I'll prove my worth to your highness by cutting them down!." The masked woman declared fiercely. It was fine if he lost to his highness after a fierce battle, but to lose so badly. She was unresigned to her defeat. She understood in a direct fight she wasn't Naruto's match at all, however that didn't mean she could put up a fight. Her quirk made it difficult for most powerhouses to take her down in a short period, however, due to her carelessness Naruto had done so. The woman was desperate for a chance to prove herself, lest his highness think her as weak and unreliable.
"Elder East and Allmight are personally after my boss. Still wanna cut 'em down" Shiho said. She eyed the two women from her, comfortable she might add, position in Naruto's arms. She didn't know what all this 'your highness' talk was about but she didn't like it. With the way the women were now regarding Naruto it felt like she had more competition.
As if Momo and that blood crazed assassin weren't enough. Shiho was struggling to oust a fifteen year old rich girl from the list of competitors, against somebody of Empyrean Frost's caliber she would be completely helpless. Shiho glared intensely at the silver haired woman in question. She had oddly pushed closer to Naruto, and Shiho wasn't sure if this was merely a coincidence or with the aim to spite her.
The masked blushed through her mask when she heard who were after Naruto. Empyrean Frost didn't have much of a reaction to the names. "Goddess told us not to get involved in any fights. It's better if we don't engage with the pro heroes." She said, then turned to her subordinate. "Take us somewhere private." she instructed.
"Hai."
With a flash the four figures disappeared.
Moments after Naruto and the rest disappeared a group of men dressed in white kimonos appeared on the scene. They gathered around the body of D'hammer D'huka with solemn expressions.
"The body has been found. Send word to lord Yamanaka." A man in the group said. "Uzumaki Naruto has returned to killing."
End.
