Roxas was the new kid. Axel loved to torment the new organization members.
"Hi." Axel grinned. "You're Roxas."
"And you're Axel." The kid wasn't smiling like Axel was. Axel was showing his teeth shamelessly, the only proof that his body would
one day become a skeleton. At least he would have had he not been a nobody.
Nobodies don't have bodies after they die. Axel could smile all he wants.
The new kid was annoying. "You're annoying." he said. Axel liked to speak his mind.
The new kid just slammed the door shut to his room. Axel shrugged and turned to his own room.
He just loved to watch things unfold.
------
The sky was blue today, like Roxas's eyes. Roxas was staring up at the sky as though envying it. Axel couldn't see why, Roxas's eyes
were much, much nicer.
"Why do you never say anything?" Axel asked.
Roxas bit back the proper sentence he had been about to utter. "Because it's pointless." Axel smiled again.
It never failed.
------
Their mission had taken them to a beach, and Roxas was sitting on the sand.
The sand was tan today, like Roxas's skin that was stretched over his bones. Except, Axel thought his skin was much nicer. Smoother
and warmer and probably tasted better too.
Axel bent down to taste the sand. He had to know.
He spat it out.
Roxas looked at him weirdly. Axel had been right all along.
-----------
Roxas was beside Axel, on the grass again. The sun was yellow today, like Roxas's hair except Roxas's hair was more golden and shiny
and bright and Axel wanted to touch it again to see how soft it was. As if he didn't already have it memorized. Roxas let him.
"Why are you so beautiful?" he asked. Axel was always asking questions.
Roxas shrugged. He didn't think that he was so beautiful.
---------
Axel was staring up at the blue sky and thinking about the same things. It was all the same, except Roxas wasn't here today and Axel
wished he could hold him and ask him questions and tell him he's beautiful.
Axel had hoped that he might see Roxas today. But Roxas left a long, long time ago.
Axel was sick of waiting for things to unfold.
-------
Axel saw Roxas again. He looked almost the same as Axel remembered. Almost. And Axel could remember very, very well. Axel
thought how very unlike the sky Roxas's eyes were, and how very unlike sand the blonde's skin was, and how very unlike the sun
his hair was. Everything looked different to him now, because before today Roxas had never worn a smile. The bones in his mouth
made everything look slightly off, like a painting that had been copied and sold to everyone who wanted it.
Axel certainly didn't. Not anymore.
--------
Yeah... I am in a weird mood today. Hooray for weird moods?
Sorry for all the typos.. but too lazy. I might fix it in a bit.
Please take the time to review, it would be greatly appreciated. :3
