Chapter 14 Back Home
Lucas and Elizabeth boarded the plane headed for home. There would be so much to do upon their return. Elizabeth was going to ask for a temporary leave of absence in order to plan her wedding and get moved into Lucas's home. The newlywed couple spent most of the morning in the bedroom on the plane talking about their wedding plans. Elizabeth had always wanted a large wedding and Lucas was okay with whatever she desired. Soon the plane had landed, and Elizabeth and Lucas were in the car headed to begin their, busy lives together.
"Lucas, darling I am feeling hungry. Can we stop on the way home and get some takeout?" Elizabeth asked with pleading eyes.
"Of course, love. Anything for the love of my life." He replied as he leaned over and kissed her.
"Let's talk about the agenda. I need to call my parents and Julie and get them on their way. I also need to go see if I can get a leave of absence from work." She suggested.
"Even if you can't Elizabeth, we will figure it out and make it work just the way you want it to. This will be the wedding of your dreams, I promise."
"Our wedding was pretty perfect Lucas; I don't know if our second ceremony could be any better." She said intertwining their fingers as they pulled into the driveway.
"It was so special." He said opening her door for her. "Let's go inside and begin decorating our home the way you would like it to be."
"I say we start with the bedroom." She teased pulling him close and teasing him with her kisses.
"Well Mrs. Bouchard it would seem you are teasing me." He scooped her up tickling her neck with his beard as they made their way to the bedroom. He placed her on the bed and crawled up beside her kissing her deeply.
"I love you, my wife!" He said kissing her gently all over until all he could think about was her naked body.
"As I do you, my husband. Our food will be cold." She teased her body trembling and aching with need.
"So be it." Their passion took over and they spent the next hour in deep connection.
Later that evening they both cuddled up on the couch and Elizabeth called her parents.
"Hello, Elizabeth, darling is that you?"
"Yes mother, how are you?
"I am fine honey. It has been seven months since you have called home. We were starting to worry about you."
"I am sorry mother, but I have some news, is father with you?"
"William dear come join me and talk to your daughter." Grace called as William entered the room.
"Mother, father I have met the love of my life and we are getting married."
"What? This is the first we have heard of a possible love interest and so serious."
"I called to invite all of you out to the house to help us plan the wedding. We are going to be married in two weeks. My husband to be will be doing all the food."
"We will be on the next flight out Elizabeth. Love you dear and we can not wait to meet him."
"We will send a car to pick you up at the airport. Send me your arrival time mother."
William and Grace cleared their schedules for the two weeks so they could help their daughter plan their wedding. Julie just happened to be home with her best friend Maia, and they were coming as well. Julie was more than excited for her sister. She was more excited to meet the man that had finally stolen Elizabeth's Heart.
"I guess we need to get the house ready for a bunch of guests." Lucas remarked. "I should probably alert the housekeeper Janette."
"That would be a good idea, after all we are going to have a full house for the next few weeks." Elizabeth responded. "Did you get an ETA from your mother and father?"
"Yes, they will be in tomorrow morning. They are flying in locally. Ben is picking them up in our plane. The car will be picking them up at the local airfield.
Lucas called Janette and had her come in and prepare all the guest rooms for their family's arrival. She was always on call for master Lucas. He paid her excellent whether he needed her or not and she loved working for him.
"Elizabeth, I suppose we need to get some groceries if we are going to have a full house."
"Lucas, darling I may not be able to get off. Let's go to the school right now and see."
Lucas and Elizabeth drove over to the school and walked into the office. "Elizabeth you're back in town." Clara remarked excited to hear all about her trip.
"Yes, I am back but was hoping to get a leave of absence for a couple of weeks to plan my wedding." Elizabeth gave her husband a gentle kiss.
"Your wedding?" Clara questioned.
"That is correct. Lucas proposed to me, and we are getting married." She said with excitement in her voice. Lucas wrapped her in a tight embrace.
After talking with HR, Elizabeth was granted a three week leave of absence to take care of wedding plans and take a honeymoon. They had invited all the school staff to the wedding. Lucas was more than happy to give Elizabeth the big wedding she deserved and wanted. He was finally going to put his big mansion to use. He was excited to have visitors.
"Rosemary, how are you?" Elizabeth asked.
"Well Elizabeth, tell me about your trip."
"Rosemary, it was wonderful. Lucas proposed to me. We are getting married."
"Elizabeth this is wonderful! I must know everything. What did he say, what did you say?"
"I would like to invite you and Lee out to the mansion to stay with us for a few weeks and help us plan the wedding. Both of our families will be coming in. We will be married in two weeks."
"Elizabeth, I don't know if Lee will be able to take off that much time, but I will check and get back to you. We will be there for the wedding."
"Okay, talk to you later Rosemary."
"Lucas let's stop by my place and grab some of my things while we are out. I have some things I am going to need."
"Whatever you wish my dear."
They stopped by Elizabeth's apartment and grabbed all her clothes and cleaned out her refrigerator.
"We will come back for the big stuff with a moving truck next week or after the wedding."
They put Elizabeth's things in the room next to Lucas's just to maintain the appearance they were not yet married. They did not want it getting out. There was a joining door with that room. It had been an exhausting day and after putting everything away and a long bubble bath they turned in for the evening anticipating everyone's arrival tomorrow.
