Lorelei had been avoiding Luke for three or four weeks now. Ever since that night. That night when all hell broke loose. The night Lorelei had slept with Christopher. The night Luke refused to marry Lorelei out of the blue. But now Lorelei walked into her house, the house where she had single handedly raised Rory Gilmore, and she knew she could do it. She opened the door and saw Luke on the bed looking at the ground.

"Where have you been Lorelei?" Luke said in a soft whisper, "I tried to call you. I called you everyday. I wanted to tell you that I am really sorry. I should've seen this coming. I'm really, truly sorry"

"Oh, Luke," Lorelei said sitting down next to him.

"I called you on your cell phone right after you came to the diner. I knew I had made a mistake." Luke explained warily.

"Luke, I'm the one that should be sorry. I shouldn't have rushed it so much. And now everything is so screwed up." Lorelei said shaking her head.

"It's not that bad. We can just get married and we'll be fine." Luke replied.

"Luke, I slept with Christopher on the night that you told me no. I was lonely so I didn't think. I just did. I'm sorry." Lorelei rushed out.

There was a long silence. Lorelei noticed how dark the house was. It was dusty and it seemed the only thing clean was a picture of Lorelei on Luke's bedside table. Lorelei felt a sudden pang of appreciation for Luke. He could do it; he would help her and support her.

"Its fine, you were lonely, and your fiancé was being a jackass." Luke said almost without a voice.

"Luke I'm pregnant," Lorelei said, "And I think its Christopher's child."

No one said a word until Luke spoke up, "Well, don't have beer or anything alcoholic. Have you gone in for your check up? You need to have a doctor know about this stuff. Plus, what are you doing, still drinking coffee? That will stunt its growth."

Lorelei let out a cry, and Luke said, "Don't worry, I'm here. You'll be alright. You look tired. Come on, let's just go to bed." And Lorelei gave him a big hug.

"Lorelei, breath, breath. You'll be alright. You can do this. We can do this. You've got to push!" Lucy, the nurse said.

"Come on Lorelei just one more push." Luke said.

And Lorelei did. She gave a big push and her second and last child was born. Charlotte Rose Danes. And Luke stood there starring at her child, not caring that it was his adoptive child. Just loving it with every cell in his body.
