Fuyuki's Regal Class Card War: A Servantless Holy Grail War

(A Full-Course Menu)

Fuyuki's Class-Card-Clad War

...

Preface:

So, this system is based on the Magical Girl Ilya's system, but it might be a bit different in some places.

Doesn't work exactly the same, it's only just based the same Class Card system, so there will be some differences.

Cards aren't as powerful, and Masters can't channel full strength of a Servant (except under certain very exceptional circumstances *cough*).

...

This chapter is just the necessary short prologue, to establish the context.

It starts getting better from the second chapter onwards.

Then, without further ado, please enjoy.

Prologue - The Hors d'oeuvres

...

...

...

Emiya Shirou had happened to be cleaning out the Archery clubroom, as per Shinji's request, when he just so happened to overhear something occurring outside.

It was the sound of some sort of fireworks.

...Or some other minor explosions?

Was there some sort of club activity going on?

Or maybe just some illegal fireworks, being set off by a student?

If that was the case, then Shirou would have to scold them, for staying out so late, and for doing something like that on school grounds.

And hopefully, that would be all there was to it.

Hopefully, it wasn't some sort of crazy arsonist or bomb otaku in any case, or some sort of Anti-Japanese terrorist.

Bracing himself, Shirou slowly opened the clubroom door, and cautiously headed out slowly and in silence, so as to not draw any attention.

And he was greeted with the sight of a cacophony of miniature explosions going all off as once!

A woman in blue twirled her spear, and sent all the arrows being aimed at her flying in different directions, each setting off a miniature explosion as they landed on school grounds.

Each individual explosion didn't look to be very powerful, not having the force of a full bomb, but they each still seemed to have a considerable explosive force to them.

Looking closely, Shirou tried to find the shooter. And adjusting his eyes in the darkness, he could barely make out what seemed to be the vague outline of a female twintailed (?) Archer in Red, sniping at the blue woman from atop the roof.

And the Archer was shooting relentlessly; continually sniping at the female Lancer from a distance, without pause.

Looking upon the sight from afar, Emiya Shirou's first thought was:

That was terrible! Girls shouldn't go around swinging spears and shooting arrows at night, trying to hurt each other!

His second thought was that maybe he should get out of here, since it looked very dangerous.

...But, not before trying to talk them out of fighting first.

"Oi!"

They both looked over.

The Lancer looked surprised to see him.

"What?!"

She scowled. To think that there was still someone around at this time!

From afar, Shirou thought he could faintly hear someone (a familiar voice?) calling out his last name in surprise as well.

But, just as he interrupted their fight,

A deflected arrow,

Shot right through his heart,

by sheer chance,

killing him.

"...Huh...?"

Shirou looked down, at his increasingly bloody chest.

"...Oh..."

In the next instant, he collapsed.

"Emiya-kun!"

That was strange. For some reason, he could've sworn that he heard Tohsaka's voice as his consciousness faded away...

That night,

Emiya Shirou died.

Bon appetite...

Author's Notes:

...

Shot through the heart~

And you're to blame~

You give looove~

A bad name~

...

So anyways, Shirou doesn't run because the display is not immediately as powerful Archer and Lacer's was in the original Visual Novel.

...

Also, according to Shirou (canon): "Girls shouldn't go swinging swords around in the middle of the night!"

That's literally something he's actually said in the visual novel lmao.

I mean that's not exactly wrong lmao (people, including girls, shouldn't be swinging around dangerous weapons at night), but saying that in the situation he's in and his emphasis on the girl part specifically somehow makes it incredibly hilarious, even if wasn't meant to be comedic.

I dunno, maybe it's just me, but I found that to be incredibly hilarious, at any rate.

Anyways, this was just the prologue (the appetite-whetting Hors d'oeuvres).

The next chapter is where it really starts to get good,

Saber (Shirou) VS Lancer (Bazett) as the story's Appetizer,

So stay tuned for that!
