AU Naruto Mass Effect Multi Crossover

AN: Kaguya isn't an alien.

Chapter 1

Despite being a spectre, Jane Shepard was still a soldier of the Alliance, and was still subject to listen to Admiral Anderson. This was the reason the Normandy and her crew were investigating a strange energy signature that had been detected. Specifically it had been more of a sudden burst that caused mass malfunctions of 95% of all technological devices on planet Earth. Needless to say there had been mass panic and keeping it silent had been impossible. The galaxy knew.

"Do you think it was an attack?" Joker asked.

"Maybe, but so far we haven't seen anything out here." The commander said. "Got to admit that I'm surprised to find an entirely star system out here in dark space."

A part of her had a feeling that this had something to do with Saren. What happened to Earth was basically an attack, and the council had yet to contact her about it. Well, she wasn't going to bother with them when she was going to the source of it. If she did find Saren there then she would beat him to a bloody pulp with her bare hands.

'The reapers.' She wouldn't forget them for as long as she lived. 'I need to find more information about them, specifically a way to either stop them from coming or destroy them.'

There simply had to be a way to fight an enemy that could wipe out entire civilizations. She had to hold out hope that there was, but for now she would focus on the mission. It was all she could do.

Unknown Planet – Forest

He sat atop the branches of a tree as tall as a skyscraper, and enjoyed the sight in front of him. The forest, the massive mountains miles away, and the open fields beyond that. The latter he couldn't really see from where he was, but he'd been there a great many times.

This person was Naruto Uzumaki. He had spiky blonde hair with prominent crimson highlights that went a bit past his shoulders, sea blue eyes with slit pupils, three whisker birthmarks on both his cheeks, bandages around his left arm. He wore orange sweatshirt with black stripes, black pants and sandals. Though he looked to be 23 in age, he was much older.

'It's quite the view isn't it?' Kurama asked.

"Yeah it is." Naruto smiled. "I never get tired of it, even after all these years."

'You should feel more pride, it was you who got us to this planet after all.' The fox said.

"I had a lot of help." He glanced backwards.

The village was in the distance, the result of their kind truly coming together after the war. The event that nearly wiped them out, it was one that Kaguya had warned him about despite being enemies. Most of their population had been lost when their home world was lost, but they'd escaped. They had survived, but they had been changed.

"We aren't sure how wormhole travel will effect us, but it's a risk we have to take at this point." Naruto looked to what remained of Iwa. "The last of the Daimyo forces, and the rebels have been put down for good; I made sure of it myself."

The wormhole itself had led directly to the open field he had just been looking at. The Ark was supposed to ferry them through the wormhole and protect them from the energy inside during their cryogenic sleep. It did both, but whatever energy was inside the wormhole had managed to get inside, and change them. Now they had access to an energy dubbed quintessence, some theorized that it was life itself. It had given them a regenerative healing factor, and longevity. Scientists came to the conclusion that this was an evolutionary trait, adaptability that had been sped up by the wormhole.

They had been in there for approximately 80,000 years according to the Arks AI, not to mention he had begun counting the years once he suddenly stopped aging.

"64 hours of daylight, and 34 hours of near freezing night." Naruto smiled. "Getting used to this worlds cycles was hard, building the village was even more difficult." He said. "Kouseigakura today you turn 7,799."

'While you turn 87,822 along with a good majority of the village.' Kurama said.

"True, but I don't count my time in the wormhole so technically I'm 7,882." He responded. "Never thought I'd live this long, hell none of us did, but here we are."

They were currently on the fourth generation of this new world, by this point the longevity had been widely accepted. This didn't stop people from dying from disease or giving themselves to the planets life force. Death was still around, but not as much.

"I guess I shouldn't complain since I get to…"

The sound of something in the distance caught his attention, his eyes adopted a ripple pattern with six tomoe in the shape of diamonds yet his eyes remained blue. This was his rinnegan.

"What the hell?"

A metal vessel that reminded him of the Ark, but this was much smaller. It had entered the planets atmosphere from out there, from the stars. Then it crashed, skidding across the forest, knocking down trees, and definitely scaring away animals. There were many people inside of it, that much he could sense.

"Looks like something interesting has come our way." Naruto said deactivating his rinnegan. "Finally."

Without any sort of hesitation he leapt forward, off of the insanely tall tree, and toward what would change the lives of his people forever.

Gale Force Forest

Joker didn't know what happened, all he knew was there had been some kind of strange reading in the planets atmosphere. An unknown energy along with some kind of electromagnetic cloud mixed in, it was like a barrier. One that had brought the Normandy down.

"Shit." Shepard cursed as she examined the damage to the outside of her ship.

They weren't flying anytime soon. The thrusters weren't on the ship anymore instead they were in pieces, and said pieces were god knows where. The hull had been torn open. As for internal damage, the drive core was just a chunk of useless metal now. The good news was that they still had comms though they had to ration power, rations, weapons, and medical equipment though not enough.

"Sorry Commander it hadn't shown up until it was to late, it was like it—"

"Don't apologize, everyone is alive, and that's all that matters; the Normandy can be fixed, but her crew can't be replaced." She said. "Hopefully Anders comes to investigate once he sees we haven't reported back."

"So, we'll have to survive six days on an unknown alien planet?"

"Fun right?" Shepard smirked.

"What about natives?" Joker asked. "If there are any?"

This star system was in Dark Space so there was no telling what was out here.

"We follow protocol, and don't start a fight." She stated. "Don't want to start another First Contact War, unless they start a fight with us then we don't start shooting."

No way did she want to start something they couldn't finish, hell she didn't want to start anything at all. If she could talk her way through it then she'd rather do that. Which is why Ashely Williams was staying close to the ship.

"I'm going to scout the area."

"Alone?"

"I won't go far." She said. "You just get some rest."

With that said she walked off with her assault rifle, pistol, and biotics. The spectre didn't plan on dying any time soon, she had to much to do. Saren was still out there, and he would be brought to justice. Even if it meant killing him.

Shepard trekked through the forest, her eyes focused on anything that might try to hurt her. There were no animals around since the crash had likely scared them away. Even so she on guard, ready to aim and fire at a moments notice. However she wasn't trigger happy, and knew when not to pull the trigger. Even so something told her that she was being watched.

In the trees, Naruto stared down at the chakra less alien woman. She looked like one of his kind with her red hair and green eyes, by all mean she was good looking in his opinion. She wore form fitting armor, carried two weapons that reminded him of his chakra cannon, and she seemed to have a strange energy around her. He didn't recognize it, it was a mystery for sure, and that excited him. Even so he to was on guard.

'That armor looks kind of weak along with that shield, is it possible that she's simply a normal solider?' Naruto wondered as he followed her.

After about twenty minutes, Shepherd stopped walking, and looked around with suspicion.

"Whoever's out there come out, I know you've been following me!" she stated.

"(Huh, that took longer than expected)."

The sudden sound of a male voice caught her attention, she didn't understand the language though. Appearing a few feet in front of her was what looked like a young human man with oddly spikey blonde hair, blue eyes, and strange marks on both his cheeks that she assumed were tattoos. Then there was his bandaged arm, something told her to watch out for it. Then there was his height, he was as tall as Wrex.

"(Hello)." Naruto greeted.

"I can't understand you." She stated. "How is there a language barrier between humans?"

"(You can't understand me, well that makes things difficult)." The blonde sighed. "(Hopefully things don't get violent between us)." He said putting his hands up as a sigh that he didn't want to fight. "(Please let this be universal)."

Of course Shepard understood the gesture, and holstered her gun. This solved one problem, but the language barrier was still there. Shepard activated her Omni Tool, this got Naruto's attention as he'd never seen anything like it. His curious expression confused Shepard, had he never seen an omni tool before? That didn't make any sense, almost everyone had one.

'Wait he doesn't have one.' She noticed. 'His pupils are strange as well.'

"(See something you like)?" Naruto's words registered into the omni tools translator program. The program worked quick, and Shepard was able to under what the blonde had asked.

"Maybe." She responded.

"Oh you can understand me now." Naruto said. "That makes communication a lot easier, I've never spoken with an alien before, especially one that resembles my kind so much." He looked to the device once more. "A translation program." This got a nod from her.

Never spoken with an alien before. He was obviously talking about her, but why would he call her an alien when they were both human? He looked human, but looks could be deceiving. This was an unknown planet in Dark Space, for all she knew the blonde's kind could simply resemble humans on the outside, but be completely different on the inside. This might just be first contact.

"My name is Naruto Uzumaki Namikaze, current head of the Uzumaki Clan, and Jonin ranked shinobi of the Kouseigakura forces." He introduced himself giving the titles that he felt would do him best in this situation. "It's a pleasure to meet you!"

'Kouseigakura forces, ranked Jonin, so he's military.' Shepard noted. "I'm Jane Shepard, I'm a lieutenant commander in the Alliance Military, and a spectre for the Citadel Council."

"No need to be so stiff, I'm on vacation for one thing so just relax." Naruto said. "Plus I'm not a fan of the whole uptight thing, makes me uncomfortable unless the situation is serious."

"Oh."

That was unexpected.

"Well that helps my nerves." She said. "I assume you're here because you saw the crash?"

"Yeah it was quite the sight." Naruto said. "To see a ship from the stars actually come—well crash on my peoples home planet really caught my attention so I came running." He explained. "The village didn't exactly notice since the parade is so loud, I only noticed because I was still getting ready."

He looked to the sky, and immediately noticed that the barrier was acting up. Closing up where the ship had come in.

"How bad is the damage to your ship?" the blonde asked.

"The Normandy is completely incapable of flight, the hull has been torn open, and our drive core is in shambles." She said listing off the three biggest problems.

"My people might be able to help, but I don't knowing our technology is on the same level since we haven't developed space travel yet." He said.

"There's no harm in trying, but first I think you should meet my crew, they're—"

A roar was heard in the direction from where the Normandy was. Shepard turned around with wide eyes as a sense of dread began to cloud her mind.

"My crew is that way, I—"

Naruto suddenly picked her up like she weighed nothing, and proceeded to sprint towards the Normandy. Naruto recognized that roar, it was a predator he recognized. One that caused trouble from time to time, and was very dangerous. Only jonin were allowed to deal with it in groups of three or four, but Naruto didn't need assistance. Upon arriving, Shepard was greeted to the sight of her crew shooting some kind if large armored beast that towered over them all. It stood on four legs with black claws, three eyes on either side of its face giving it six in total, a long tail, and two rows of dagger sharp teeth.

The gunfire wasn't hurting it at all, in fact it just seemed to piss it off even more, and Liara's biotics did nothing to it either.

"Shit!" Shepard cursed.

"The hell is a blight beast doing here?" Naruto frowned. "Damn thing must've seen your crew as easy food." He clenched his fists. "Don't worry, I'll help your people out."

Before Shepard could ask how he was going to help, Naruto was coated in a blue energy. One that made her entire body freeze up. This wasn't biotics this was something else entirely. Naruto was suddenly gone, right before her eyes.

"Sit down!"

Naruto appeared on the left side of its face, and punched the predator in the face. His fist easily breaking the outer armor, and sending it backwards. But he wasn't done yet as he made the tiger hand sign just in time for the beast to get up, and run at him.

"Fire Style: Grand Flame!"

From his mouth came a powerful stream of flames hot enough to melt steel. It formed a flaming orb around the predator, the blight beast was consumed in an instant, it's body becoming scorched and black. It knew only pain for those 5 seconds Naruto had the jutsu last. When the jutsu ended all that remained was the scorched ground, and smoking pitch black bones.

The crew of the Normandy, and Shepard were in absolute shock by what they'd just seen. There was no way he was human, no human was that strong nor could humans breath fire. So, what was this guy?

"Is everyone alright?" Shepard asked.

"Better than that thing." Wrex said.

"It came out of nowhere, never seen anything like it before or like him." Kaiden said.

Naruto turned around to face the aliens he'd saved. Most were humans like Shepard, but four of them obviously weren't. The really big one was as tall as him, looked tough, and probably wouldn't go down easy in hand to hand combat. The one with the metallic looking carapaces looked pretty intriguing. The blue woman at least he assumed she was female because of her features was staring at him with curiosity, it was a look he knew well. Finally there was the one in the suit, her features were hidden, but not to him. For a second their eyes met, and she became aware that he could see her face.

"Commander, who or what is this guy?" Ashely asked.

"A native, his name is Naruto and he's a solider with his peoples military." She said. "Naruto, thanks for saving my crew."

"No problem." He said. "It's nice to meet you all, names Naruto Uzumaki Namikaze, head of the Uzumaki Clan, and Jonin ranked shinobi of the Kouseigakura forces."

There was silence, they weren't used to someone introducing themselves with such joy, nor did they know exactly how to respond after what they'd just seen. Shepard sighed, did these people not know how to at least say hello to the person who had just saved their lives?

Tali walked up to Naruto.

"My name is Tali'Zorah nar Rayya, it's nice to meet you." She said.

"Nice to meet you to."

The two seemed to make eye contact once more, this time by accident. Naruto's blue eyes met with Tali's yellow eyes, it made her feel exposed as if he could see through more than her helmet. She hoped that he couldn't.

"Urdnot Wrex." The large alien said. "That was impressive, never seen a human or a krogan punch that hard, the fire breathing was something else."

Now in front of each other, Wrex saw that Naruto was indeed as tall as him unlike other humans. Wrex could see it clearly, this guy, Naruto really wasn't human despite his appearance.

"Who're—"

"How did you do that?" the blue alien couldn't wait anymore. "I'm Liara T'soni, sorry about that Wrex."

"Well, I used chakra." Naruto said.

"Is that your peoples equivalent to biotics?" She asked.

"I don't know what biotics are." Naruto said. "Is it what you tried to use against the blight beast?"

"Yes, biotics allow myself, Shepard, and Kaiden to create mass effect fields." She said. "Biotics allow us to lift things into the air, generate gravitational vortexes to tear obstacles such as enemies apart, and create protective barriers."

"Chakra can do that stuff to, it's something my people are naturally born with along with quintessence." Naruto said. "But, that can wait since I have to inspect the damage to your ship."

Just one look at it told him that the surviving crew had been saved by nothing less than a miracle. They were going to need all new thrusters for sure. Floating up using wind nature transformation he saw that the hull had been blasted open more than expected, along with the many pieces of the thrusters. The blonde went inside to find the ruined drive core.

"Commander are we really going to let him inspect the Normandy?" Ashely asked. "Even in its ruined state there's no telling what he might do."

"He said his people might be able to fix the Normandy, it's a risk we have to be willing to take considering our situation, and if they can't then maybe we can get some shelter." Shepard said. "They haven't invented space travel yet, but I get the feeling they might be close enough to fix our ship or they have the technology to do so, but haven't bothered with space yet."

This was her hypothesis at least.

"If they're hostile?" Garrus asked.

"Then we defend ourselves, but we won't start fights, we need help, and if they really are a new race then we need to show them that the Milky Way isn't full of complete assholes." She said. "Even though we know a lot of them are absolute assholes."

"That's good and all, but what if they're assholes?"

"Then they'll fit right in."

"Your drive core is completely ruined!" Naruto exclaimed before walking out of the ship. "The design is just like the older ones we used years back, we can definitely replace it." He said. "As for everything else, well that's going to take some time to fix, but it can definitely be done."

"How long would that take?" Ashely questioned, skeptical that a species that hadn't even attained space travel could fix a ship like the Normandy.

"I'd say like two weeks maybe less, but that's only if Shepard convinces the five Kage to help." He said. "They're the leaders, and make all the really big decisions and stuff."

"Well, it's still technically part of protocol when encountering a new race so take me to your leaders." She said. "But, I want two of my crew members with me."

"Understandable, but you can't bring any of those weapons with you." Naruto said pointing to the guns. "Bringing weapons like that into a village full of civilians during a parade is a horrible idea, and I simply won't allow it; you understand right?"

'We don't have a choice in the matter, plus he makes a good point, this situation needs to be handled delicately.' Shepard knew she wasn't a diplomat, but she would have to act like one today. So, she put down her weapons. "Liara, Garrus let's go."

"Thank you for complying, I promise no harm will come to you three." Naruto said. After some mental preparation, the group of four went off to the village of Kouseigakura.

Road to Kouseigakura

Liara couldn't take the quiet anymore, she was much to curious about the blonde they were following. Not to mention what they were going to soon see.

"Naruto."

"Yes?"

"You mentioned something called quintessence, what is that?" Liara asked. "And chakra, what exactly is it and what else can it do?"

"In that order, quintessence is a very unique form of energy in our bodies that we attained thousands of years ago, with chakra being the first." He said. "It's a self-generating power source that's helped us blend our chemical, mechanical, biological and electrical engineering in fantastic ways."

"A self-generating power source goes against the laws of physics, how could such a thing exist?" she asked. "And chakra?"

"It's a form of life energy that flows throughout our bodies through a chakra pathway system that works similar to a cardiovascular system." He said. "Chakra lets us manipulate, and create the natural elements along with their sub elements." He explained. "We can enhance our physical abilities as you saw me do, but that was with a little bit chakra."

Naruto wasn't giving away the important stuff. Like the stuff about bloodlines, sage chakra, natural energy, where quintessence could be found, or anything that could get him in trouble. He didn't trust them fully, he wasn't young and as naïve anymore, he knew better now. The blonde had the scars to prove it, and the regrettable body count.

But now wasn't the time to think of such things, now was the time to think of the future, and what was to come. His people were about to enter a new era, and they would make sure to establish one prominent rule. They could adapt extremely fast, and wouldn't tolerate anyone baring their dull fangs at them. To do so was simply begging for death.
