Disclaimer: I don't own Kingdom Hearts.
As Riku enters the room, Namine smiles up at him. The expression is just as warm as it's always been. It's the kind of smile that makes everything seem right--even when Riku knows that everything is wrong.
Of course, there's no hint that anything's wrong at all. Namine looks like the very definition of serenity. Anything less than that and Riku would really start worrying. The girl hated to upset anyone, and the day she came to someone with her problems would be the day hell froze over.
In that respect, Riku thinks, they are exactly the same.
But back to reality.
Namine's just sitting there, legs crossed, a pencil held loosely between her fingers. She's waiting as usual. She's been waiting on Sora for so long. Her life practically revolves around the spiky-haired boy. Her days follow a simple but vicious schedule: remove Sora's false memories, recover his true memories, reflect on what could have been, rest and repeat. Riku doesn't know how Namine does it. If he had to do what she's doing now, he would have gone crazy long ago.
But as it is, Namine's slowly going crazy from her nonexistent grief, watching and waiting on Sora. Riku wishes she'd stop waiting, turn around and watch him for a change.
