Parasite Part 1
[New York : Oscorp 1994]
POV : Third
In the great city of New York there were many companies that had been gaining much prominence for their scientific discoveries and their monetary gains, each one with an image of its owners.
Tony Stark for Stark Industries, Justin Hammer for Hammer Industries, Calvin Kent for Star Labs and Star Corp. Each one of them had their specialty and projects that they each had competing to be the best, but one of the best in the biotechnology area, Oscorp was a pioneer.
Represented by its founder and leader Norman Osborn who was known for his coolness and dedication to work, he had currently partnered with another biotech giant Essex Industries of an unknown Nathanael Essex.
They had received a compound based on the blood of an extraterrestrial species, more commonly called Superman, after a while of their debut they had gone to one of the most famous newspapers in the city and there offered an interview with one of the journalists Betty Brant.
A lot of questions were asked like where he came from, how he did what he did and most importantly why he did it, everyone was listening to the interview on television.
Superman smiling had explained all his history, he came from a distant planet called Krypton a world of wonders but that had come to an end with him being the last son of Krypton, he explained how he was taken care of since childhood on Earth learning the values of Truth, Honour and Justice.
"You could say you were raised in America, after all American Way and stuff."
Betty Brant said with a cynical smile that she no longer believed in things like the "American Dream" as it was unrealistic and very unbelievable these days.
Calvin Kent smiled at the reporter and after speaking in several languages he explained that these were concepts of humanity and not just a people, as he could have been created anywhere.
After that, the already great fame of the Kryptonian became greater and worldwide because in some places he was a mere myth, the information that there was life outside his world reverberated around the world.
POV : Norman Osborn
After six months we had obtained results with the "samples" that Essex industries provided us, imagine my surprise when I received blood samples from the Flying Alien, it was simply an outrage that people were worshiping him as a god, he arrogantly thinks that humanity needs protection, but we can take care of ourselves.
At that moment I was looking at one of my most helpful employees, the shy and pathetic Otto Octavius with his short stature and overweight body, he despite having an intellect a little above the others he was still annoying.
"Doctor what was the latest data discovered?"
He fumbled all over a really weak man of mind and heart, but he still passes all the data accurately.
"The most recent data point to a DNA sequence completely different from ours, due to the few samples we can't follow up with more experiments but we managed to discover some interesting features."
He leads me to where a container was with its contents being completely bright purple, enough to fill a vial but it seemed to pull its own light from the place and it was cold around him.
"As you can see sir, the substance obtained through the extraction of substances from the blood of the Kryptonian individual we obtained an enzyme with super absorbent characteristics."
"How absorbent are we talking Octavius?"
I asked because depending on whether we could have a powerful chemical weapon in our hands, how much could be sold wouldn't be different from that arrogant Stark's weapons.
"Well sir we had to transfer it to this container because its absorption capacity didn't seem to have a limit, whether electricity, heat and even other variable energies were being absorbed."
This was a surprise if what he said is true that would be able to change the course of many wars, imagine dropping a bomb capable of absorbing thermal, electrical and radioactive energy around ? would be Oscorp's greatest achievement.
"Have it transferred to one of our facilities in the arctic, there we can work better on that. I'll transfer you too. Congratulations Doctor, you've earned a promotion."
"Thank you..thank you Mr.Osborn."
"Whatever, just do what I told you and get everything ready."
"Yes immediately!!"
He did as I ordered and some of the security came to transfer, including the newly hired rookie, Rudolph "Rudy" Jones, I think he better not mess up this operation.
POV : Rudolph Jones
I was lucky to finally get this job, my wife Linda was already six months pregnant and I could no longer depend on the odd jobs I was getting, thank God and my war friend John Carter that I got this job.
It paid well and I had already received my first advance payment of five thousand dollars, it seems that everyone received it due to the importance of the operation, our group was responsible for taking some kind of scientific thing to the airport where the Oscorp personal plane would take it to the Arctic.
I have no idea what it was but all I cared about was working, I finally got my life in order and was happy that I could work on something I'm good at and that was driving this highly expensive and well-equipped convoy.
Next to me in the passenger seat my friend John was rereading the itinerary, we were a few minutes early because the traffic was free, he had an accident but thanks to Superman everything went back to normal and no one was hurt.
"Man, glad Superman took care of everything or we would have been late and Mr.Osborn hates delays."
John said looking relieved as he stowed his clipboard in a compartment of the vehicle, now we were in an area closer to the coast with sea views with very few cars around, a shortcut I knew.
"Well you'd expect the guy to save the day, I just wonder if he knows how many people he helps over time."
I said as I suddenly smelled strange and it wasn't something like one of John's silent farts that he loved to piss me off, it was no different but I decided to ignore it to focus on the road.
"Well I don't know but if he can hear a crime from a continent away maybe he's too busy to notice, hey! how's Linda? the pregnancy is going fine."
"Thank God yes, she's never looked so radiant, since I got this job she feels safer and so do I thank you."
"Oh come on brother, what are friends for ? anyway remember I owe you one after saving me back in Vietnam."
"As you said friends are for what after all right?"
I smiled as I looked at him looking back at the road I can't help but think about the future optimistically, a job that pays well, a wife who loves me, a son coming into the world and living in the city where crime is afraid to act due to Superman, really nothing can go wrong.
But at that moment the smell intensified and the devices went crazy with sparks coming out while a purple smoke came out from behind, John and I coughed hard for the unusual lack of oxygen, I started to tear up and without realizing it we ended up hitting a passing car and the truck ended up skidding.
And behind us whatever was being stored exploded in a purple blast that threw us out of the truck, I felt something cover me as it burned my body, I've never felt so much pain, and the worst thing was that I couldn't scream because my ropes vocals were pierced through the glass.
I felt my body hitting the asphalt I tried to turn my body and I felt the heat probably from the burning truck, my vision getting blurred due to unconsciousness coming but before that I can see the flying figure coming, it was strange because I could see a golden glow inside it but I pass out before I can do anything.
POV : Superman
My god today was a stressful but productive day, I arrested a bunch more of the Inter-Gang members, they tried to steal some combat suit designs from Hammer Industries, one of them looked familiar but recently my memory felt like it was being gagged but nothing that I needed to worry.
I was doing one last patrol until I hear a big explosion, I go towards because someone could have been hurt, I quickly arrive and see something horrible. A burning truck and two men lying on the ground full of shards of glass, one of them had already died because his heart didn't beat, but the other still had a small beat.
I wasted no time as I used my freezing breath to put out the fire, after that I called the authorities to deal with it, a policeman I trusted the officer Stacy replied and said that soon they arrived, after that I caught the man still alive and quickly I went to the nearest hospital.
Little did I know the problems this accident would bring to everyone, and that my anger would be brought to the surface by an ordinary human.
