Chapter Warnings: Heat Exhaustion/Medical Emergency, Mentioned Non-Canon Character Death, Implied (Only thoughts) of Rape/Non-Con Elements
Chapter Five: The Promise of an Elder Brother
Chapter Summary: As Hizashi decides to get Class 1-A involved with the case, a revelation comes to light from All Might. Meanwhile, Todoroki is at a crossroads as Aizawa has a medical emergency mid heat. As he refuses to allow the villains near, he is shocked by Dabi. Later, Aizawa had a moment of clarity and realizes he has made a mistake.
Hizashi was exhausted. Between his time at U.A. and having to continue fulfilling his duties as a teacher, he had been out on the streets looking for any sort of answer on where the League of Villains could be hiding out. If he was being honest with himself, he knew there wasn't much that he could do alone, but it felt like he was doing something. Anything to attempt to find his husband and student and bring them home.
He had barely slept a wink since he had gotten the call. It felt like the entire world had shattered around him the second that he had heard Tsukauchi's voice. Telling him what happened. The Alpha had been furious. He hadn't necessarily been angry at All Might at the time. Just angry at the entire situation. When it came to Shouta, it felt like he could and would all sense of reason. Shouta was his rock. His person.
Nothing felt right without him here. He knew about all the possibilities as a pro hero, but he didn't think they would have to live through something like this again. Not after what happened to Shirakumo. Shouta was always so careful. Logical in his thinking. He had rewatched that video footage multiple times at this point, trying to see the reasoning to Shouta's lack of reaction. It could only be summed down to the fact that Shigaraki and Dabi were working to stay out of his line of sight, and Kurogiri hadn't been seen at all. Just his warp gates.
It felt like there was something else. It wasn't like Shouta to be so slow in his movements. His reactions. Not unless something was really getting to him, or he was overthinking.
No matter what, Shouta had acted to protect Todoroki.
Even if this happened.
Hizashi had taken over watching over Class 1-A while rescue operations were underway. He had a feeling that the students were going to go rogue again. Just like they had done with Bakugou. If he was being honest, he believed that they should utilize the skills of Class 1-A. They knew the League of Villains better than even most Pro Heroes. They were pack to Shouta and Todoroki. They were like a ticking time bomb.
He made his way towards Heights Alliance, his hands dug deep into his pockets to hide the fact that he was practically cutting his own palms open with his nails. He couldn't shake this feeling. The feeling of uneasiness going through him. If it wasn't for the students, he would already be back out there at that moment. He had been working with Endeavor's Agency during that time. The League of Villains would slip up. They had too. He had the case file hooked under his arm, with all the intentions of trying to calm the students with it.
The Alpha paused as he caught whiff of the raging pheromones lingering out into the air, forcing him to look up to see Bakugou and Midoriya rushing out of the dorms. He sighed. Well, he was right about one thing.
"What are you listeners doing?" Hizashi called out. They halted in their steps as his voice reached them. Both of the boys giving him a knowing look. "You guys are not allowed to leave campus right now."
Bakugou looked pissed off. Though, it always felt like it was more uncommon to see him not annoyed most days. "Mic-sensei, I don't need your approval for this."
Hizashi understood what they were feeling. Midoriya looked just as determined as Bakugou did. The Alpha Hero got up to them, reaching out and placing a hand on each of their shoulders, "I know what you are feeling. I want to find them too, but we also have to prioritize your safety. We have no way of knowing if they were targeting more than just Aizawa and Todoroki."
"Bullshit." Bakugou snapped. "Why did they keep us all grouped together by that magnet quirk, huh?! They only planned on taking our teacher and classmate."
Hizashi knew this was all instincts talking. Bakugou had firsthand experience with the League of Villains and being in their den. He had seen them in a way that no one else had. "Aizawa would have my head if I let anything happen to any of you." Hizashi stated, "If he were here, he would tell you to go back to your dorms."
"Well, he's not here is he?!" Bakugou growled.
"Kaachan!" Midoriya exclaimed. The green haired Alpha sighed for a second, shaking his head as he looked to Hizashi. "Mic-sensei, we at least have to try. Maybe we can help."
He wanted to be honest with them and tell them that he thought their help would be beneficial, but he also had a role to play as a caregiver and an instructor. He had to follow the orders of the school, Heroes, and the police. His hands were tied in this situation. "I understand, Midoriya." Hizashi whispered, "But I cannot let you at this time."
After a bit more of back and forth, he managed to talk the two into heading back towards Heights Alliance with him. Before they actually got back in the door, he stopped in his tracks as he noticed All Might coming from the side. Even All Might had been more on edge than usual. Not his happy go-lucky self. A deep frown was settled on his face. A dark look that Hizashi had only seen on his face a couple of times.
The USJ, finding out about the Training Camp, and Kamino Ward.
"Hey, there, All Might." Hizashi stated. Hizashi still felt guilty for having his moment of blaming All Might for the entire situation. It wasn't his fault. He knew that, but at the time, he wasn't thinking clearly enough.
All Might nodded at him, giving him an empathetic look as he reached out, patting Hizashi on the shoulder really quick as his attention turned to the students. "What are you two up too?"
Bakugou grumbled as Midoriya gave a slight nervous laugh. "Nothing." Midoriya muttered.
Hizashi chuckled for a second as he cast a glance at All Might, lifting up the folder in his hand. "I got the case file."
All Might looked at it and nodded. He had already picked up on what Hizashi was planning to do as he reached forward and opened the door, motioning for all of them to go ahead of him. Hizashi had stepped in, slipping out of his boots and into a pair of slippers before making his way into the common room.
It wasn't a surprise to see the entirety of Class 1-A standing there, looking at them in surprise for a moment. It only took a second before he was being bombarded with questions. If they had heard anything. If they had been found yet. He hated to disappoint them, but he raised up his hand to get them to quiet down.
"I know how much you kids want to help, so I think I could a fresh set of eyes." He stated, holding up the file. It seemed like a good trade off. Sure, they weren't allowed out in the field, but nothing was said against showing them the file. All the current findings. All the current information on the League of Villains. Everything from incident reports to backgrounds on everyone involved.
The teenagers eyed the file as he heard All Might say, "Is that really wise? Can't you get in trouble for that, Mic-kun?"
Hizashi hummed, shrugging for a second. "I understand the feeling of not being able to do anything. Maybe, having your eyes look at this might help something that we can't see." The Alpha wasn't exactly sure how much it would help, but he had been over this file loads of times at this point and hadn't found anything new that he didn't already know. He supposed if he at least showed it to the class, that they would calm down about feeling like they weren't able to do anything. At least, it would make them feel like they were helping in some way. Their attention was now completely on him now as he waved the folder slightly. "We could make some copies if you want, but if anyone asks, you didn't see this from me."
The mood from the students had changed within an instant. All of them now having something else to put their focus into. He moved forward, taking a seat on the couch as he handed the file to Iida to make the photocopies. Iida had paused before he started to move, whispering out, "Is it really okay to do this?"
Hizashi nodded. "I'll take any of the heat if anyone has a problem with it." The Voice Hero stated, giving the best smile that he could muster. "It's cruel not to allow you guys to do anything."
Iida had accepted the answer, moving off towards the copy machine. Hizashi sighed as he pulled his phone from his pocket, setting it on the table as All Might took a seat next to him. The students were setting themselves up around the room, preparing themselves to go over the files.
Through the corner of his eye, he could see the elder Alpha turning to look at him. All Might dropped his voice, whispering, "How are you holding up?"
Hizashi shook his head. "Not good."
All Might reached up, placing his hand on his shoulder as Hizashi was able to catch his scent trying to sooth him. Hizashi reached up, letting his hand settle on All Might's. "We'll find him, Hizashi. We will find them both, and they will come home."
Hizashi wanted to believe that. He had to believe it, no matter what he was feeling in that moment. It felt like everything was wrong. That they were missing something. A piece of him was missing. Shouta's students were missing a piece. Their pack wasn't completely with Todoroki or Shouta being here.
They sat mostly in silence before Iida had returned with Yaoyorozu, passing out the nineteen copies that they had made before returning the original back to the Alpha. Hizashi flipped it back open, moving the contents on the table in front of him and All Might. "This one is the updated one that I got this morning from Endeavor."
"Have they found anything, yet, Mic-sensei?" Midoriya questioned.
Hizashi shook his head. "No signs of the League." He whispered, "Aizawa is good when he's in sticky situations and he's been captured by villains before but had always managed to get away within a few hours. This time is different."
"They have young Todoroki." All Might stated.
Hizashi nodded. "I know Aizawa." He started, looking up to the students. "He wouldn't act unless he could with certainty get Todoroki away. Even if it was just Todoroki. He would put Todoroki as his main priority."
He could see the understanding on the teenagers' faces. They've known Shouta for months now. They saw the lengths he would go for them. He was probably the one person at all of U.A. that wouldn't break under the pressure. At least, quickly. It would take a lot.
"In this file are all the background reports on the members of the League of Villains. At least, the known ones." Hizashi explained, "Tomura Shigaraki, Kurogiri, and Dabi have no known history at this time. It also has reports on Aizawa and Todoroki as well as photographs. The incident reports to the day of their abduction, police reports. This is all information that needs to be kept in house. We can't risk anyone finding anything out in these."
He gained confirmations and reassurances from the others as All Might started going through the reports, quickly reading over them. A quiet fell over the room. Just the sound of rustling papers was the only thing filling the room at the moment.
The silence was only cut through by All Might, reaching out for one of the pictures on the table. One of Shouta and his parents. It was taken right before Shouta's mother had died. All Might was frowning as he looked at it, pulling it a bit closer to him. He could hear All Might muttering under his breath, not quite catching what he was saying.
Hizashi leaned over to look at the picture better. It was the same one that was hanging in Shouta's room. The only family picture that he had from his childhood. He was roughly five in the picture. His mother – Miyu was kneeling down beside him. They were splitting images of one another. Hair dark as night and eyes that looked like the clouds of a thunderstorm. His father – Satoru on the other hand had pitch white hair like snow and cerulean blue eyes was to Shouta's other side also kneeling down.
All Might looked like he had seen a ghost as he gazed down at the picture, bringing a hand up to his mouth. "All Might?" Hizashi questioned. He had never seen this look on All Might's face. "Buddy? What's wrong?"
The elder Alpha shook his head, turning the picture towards him for a second. "These are Aizawa-kun's parents?" Hizashi nodded. All Might looked stunned as he stared back down at the picture. The surprise written all over his face. "Miyu Iwatani."
"You knew her?" Hizashi questioned. This was news to him. It wasn't like Shouta knew much about his mother but knowing All Might felt like something that Shouta should have known about. Especially since his father was still alive.
"You knew Aizawa-sensei's mom?" Ashido questioned. Almost an excitement radiating off of her for a second before it dulled down not even seconds after. The tension coming to the room as All Might put the photo down, curling his hand over his mouth. "All Might-sensei?"
"We…" All Might whispered, "She was a really good friend. I lost contact with her over thirty years ago. I never knew she had a child." For a split second, it looked like there was something else the elder Alpha wanted to say but kept it to himself. Hizashi didn't know what to say. Let alone how to tell him that Miyu had passed away. He didn't seem to know about it. He wasn't even mentioning her death. Shouta never did tell him how she died, just saying he couldn't remember anything about it. He had read the report that was included about her death. The villain who had killed her had never been found. Her body had been found by her husband when he returned home, finding their son locked in the closest that her body was in front of.
He had so many questions running through his head now. It felt almost like a coincidence that All Might knew Shouta's mother before he was born. The Alpha turned his attention back to the report in his hand. Ironically, being the same report about Shouta's background. What else was hidden right in the shadows?
He couldn't get it out of his head. Shouta's face flashed before his mind. The last moment he had seen him. He blinked as he felt a hand land on his shoulder, ripping him out of his thoughts as he caught the tail end of what All Might was saying to him, "—your phone."
The alarm tone filled his ears as he sighed, rubbing his face, and placing the paper down, "It's Aizawa's alarm for his heat med—" It was like time stopped the second he went to finish his sentence. His eyes shooting open as he dropped his hand, looking down at his phone with wide eyes. Glaring back at him was the alarm that always reminded him to tell Shouta to take his medications for his heats. They were usually always taxing on his body. His heats were always timed almost perfectly. Falling around the same time each and every single time.
It felt like he had short circuited as the alarm stopped on its own but leaving the alarm title flashing on his screen. Shouta's heat was coming up. If it hadn't hit already. There was no way that the League could have possibly known. It also gave him a clue to why Shouta seemed a bit off in the video footage. He felt like he was going to be sick. Shouta was unmated. They had spoken about it, and Shouta had decided that he didn't want to go through with it, and he respected that decision. He knew what it summed down too, but he would never push Shouta into it. Though, a downside was, it made heats rougher the older he got.
That also meant that he was an unmated Omega surrounded by Alphas who just happened to be villains.
"Mic-sensei…" Shinsou started, "Did you say heat medication?"
Hizashi nodded, finally letting his gaze move up to his students. "Aizawa is about to…" It also meant there was a high probability that Todoroki's could be triggered. Shouta wouldn't have medication to stop the intense pheromones. There could be a chance that Todoroki didn't, but it was more unlikely that he wouldn't.
He couldn't hear anything else as that alarm mocked him.
Dear God… Shouta.
There was a high probability that when they found Shouta… that he would be different.
X
Aizawa was in a full-blown heat at this point. His pheromones radiating throughout the room that they had placed him in. Todoroki hadn't left his side. Refusing to go anywhere. Now that Aizawa was back with them, he wasn't about to let him out of his sights. He couldn't even explain it. Much to his surprise, the League members were being oddly gentle. Bringing anything and everything that they could think of that an Omega would want or need.
Aizawa was completely lost in his instincts, but at that moment, he was sound asleep. Todoroki had experienced plenty of heats before and never to this extent. He was doing everything that he had been taught in trying to help. He knew that heats were different for everyone. Some of them got really bad and other times, they could be a breeze. He was typically lucky with his and they were pretty easy going for him. Easy enough that he was able to still attend classes as long as if he took a slight scent suppressant to knock down his pheromones.
He had taken over trying to keep the thick layer of sweat that was on Aizawa's skin down. His body temperature was almost too hot. At least to the touch. It was like whenever he would start to activate his fire in his palm to the touch. He had heard the risks of an Omega's body temperature getting too hot. He wasn't even sure at this point if Aizawa had passed out from exhaustion or was just able to get some sleep.
He didn't look good. His skin was paler than normal. Looking more flushed than anything. He could also see the bruises and cuts that were peeking out from underneath his long-sleeved shirt. He almost didn't want to know what else there was. Aizawa had been gone for a while with All for One. Probably days with him going through god knows what at his hands.
He was actually surprised that Aizawa had been brought back to them in a heat haze. Todoroki knew how foggy the mind could get during that time. Trying to fight off their own instincts. Outside of himself and Aizawa, the other Omegas in Class 1-A were Bakugou, Shinsou, Jirou, and Uraraka. Everyone else was either an Alpha or a Beta. Aizawa was typically the person they went to if they needed something regarding their Omega Dynamic. He happened to be the only Omega faculty member too. If Todoroki was being honest, Omega Heroes were very uncommon. Todoroki could probably count on two hands of the amount of Omega heroes that he knew their names by heart.
Maybe it's why he wasn't surprised that the League of Villains didn't really know all that much about how to help care for an Omega. There were plenty of Omegas in the world. They were a dime of a dozen if he went out onto the streets. Even more outside of his own class within the school itself.
The only ones in the League who really seemed to know what they were doing were Dabi and Kurogiri. Everyone else seemed to just be guessing. Which led to Todoroki practically taking the charge. He was an Omega. He understood. It surprised him that they were listening to him. Taking in all the information that he was providing. Toga had in fact gone and got some food, which had been left pretty untouched by Aizawa. They had an array of pillows and blankets carried in by Twice and Magne. It was like they were trying to make him as comfortable as possible.
Either way, Todoroki refused to allow them to get in too close. He had heard the horror stories of people getting lost in their own instincts when it came to the pheromones of others. He wasn't about to let that happen. It felt like the worst timing that Aizawa had gone into a heat following them getting captured. It was leaving Aizawa in a very vulnerable state. He wouldn't be able to defend himself if the need arose. So, Todoroki would do it for him.
He wasn't sure why the League wasn't just forcing him away. It made him wonder if the fact that Aizawa was an Omega had nothing to do with why they were here. Even though Shigaraki did seem to have a strange crush on his teacher. If he could even call it that. It was like a twist admiration for him. Shigaraki hated Hero Society, but he seemed to actually like Aizawa.
The more time that they were here, the more he was starting to see a different side to these villains. Like they were more in touch with humanity than he thought. He would watch them joke around and goof off. See the way that they would bicker but be back to being civil in that matter of minutes. It felt so strange. Like he was never supposed to see this. He refused to fell any differently about these people. They had been causing them so much hurt and pain for months now. He couldn't allow himself to view them in a different light.
So, for now, he would continue caring for his teacher. Just like he did for them. Aizawa was always there for them, so he would do the same.
He could feel his own exhaustion going through him, but he refused to sleep. Allow his eyes to close even for a moment. The fear that coursed through him at the thought that if he did allow himself to rest that the villains would swoop in and take the chance. Hell, he knew they could anyway, but he didn't even want to think about that. He didn't like the thought in the slightest.
Shigaraki and Dabi had been some of the main people coming in and out of the room. Getting whatever Todoroki said might help. He did notice that not once did they actually try and touch Aizawa. Just leaving him where he was, only letting Todoroki stay close to him. It felt like a false sense of security. He couldn't even comprehend their actions.
Aizawa was not lucid in the slightest. Whenever he did crack open his eyes, his gaze looked so far away. Like he didn't even know where he was anymore. There had been old stories of heats ransacking a body this way, but it was so unheard of now. He didn't even really know what to do in this situation except for be there. Aizawa seemed to react if he moved around, almost reaching out for him each time that he shuffled around. He hadn't dropped his hand once the entire time.
He was starting to get increasingly worried as the time continued to pass. Aizawa was starting to look worse and worse. It was just him in the room with Aizawa, and even he could catch just how much pheromones were radiating through the air. It was almost suffocating with how much there were.
Todoroki was pretty sure they were on day two of this. He couldn't tell anymore with how exhausted that he was. He was sure he looked it too. Dabi had kept trying to get him to at least get some sleep, but he kept adamantly refusing to do so. Todoroki eyed his teacher for a moment, seeing the wince of pain that he gave. There wasn't anything that he could do, and it was killing him inside. Watching Aizawa suffer like this.
He reached forward, hesitating for a second as he reached out, going to move some of his hair from his face. As soon as the Omega teenager's hand touched the surface of the elder's forehead, he stopped. Aizawa was burning up. Far worse than the normal temperature of what an Omega's heat should be. It set the panic into place as he instinctively went to ice some of his ice but stopped at last second. Remembering All for One's words reflecting through his mind.
He needed to get Aizawa cooled down, and quickly at that. Aizawa's eyes had started to crack open. His glossy, stormy eyes looking back at him for a second. "It's okay, Aizawa-sensei." Todoroki whispered, releasing some of his own pheromones in an attempt to let Aizawa know that he was alright. He wasn't even sure if Aizawa could actually hear him or not. He looked so distant. It was starting to freak him out as he stood up, looking around the room for anything that could help.
He wasn't sure what to do here. This wasn't anything that he was prepared for. Aizawa never really let them see him in a state like this one. He was so vulnerable. He always took medication to lower his symptoms. Wearing scent blockers to keep his pheromones from escaping. He was always tired and rigid looking that no one batted an eye in his direction.
Todoroki had started going through every drawer in the room. Looking for anything that he could use. Muttering to himself as he wasn't able to find anything. The young Omega knew he wouldn't find anything in here. He needed to get him cooled down and some medication given to him to combat the symptoms. Normally, Alphas could help with it even if it wasn't in that manner. He wasn't about to let Shigaraki, Dabi, or any of the other Alphas close to him to give them the chance to somehow imprint on the out of commission Omega.
He weighed his options. He knew where the bathroom was, but he wouldn't be able to get Aizawa there alone. He wasn't even sure if the League had the necessary medication or not. Aizawa looked like hell. Curled up almost in the fetal position. An arm thrown over his midsection. A light sheet over his hips. He was still fully clothed in the clothes that he had been in, and Todoroki knew that he would have to somehow get some of the extra layers off. This wasn't going to be easy.
It almost seemed like the world was working against him in that moment as the door opened, revealing Dabi and Shigaraki standing there. Both of them looking into the room in a mixture of shock and concern. Todoroki was quick on his feet, placing himself between Aizawa and the two Alphas. "Stay back." Shigaraki and Dabi both shared looks as they came into the room. As they moved, Todoroki was able to see the other League members lingering behind them, peeking into the room. "I said, stay back." Todoroki stopped at the sound of his own voice. A tone that he had never used before but heard Aizawa use in the past.
The two villains had stopped in their tracks for a second as Dabi snorted. "Shouto, do you have any idea what is going on with him right now?"
Todoroki shook his head, "I still won't let you near him."
Shigaraki sighed, reaching up and pulling the hand from his face to let Todoroki actually see him. "Can't you smell that scent coming off of him?"
"Of course, I can!" Todoroki barked, "Just get out of here. I can take care of him." Dabi grumbled, rolling his eyes for a second as he started forward. Todoroki didn't think twice before he was physically stopping Dabi. At least, attempting to. His hands braced on his shoulders as he hissed out, "Don't. Go. Near. Him."
"Shouto!" Dabi snapped. Todoroki actually froze for a moment. His eyes going wide. It wasn't like an Alpha voice. Just stern and even trying to put some understanding into him. "Something is going on with him. I know he's in heat. I know you are worried about us touching him. We won't do anything." Todoroki felt his grip loosening as he listened to Dabi's tone of voice. It felt like honesty. He shook his head, gritting his teeth. He refused to believe him. It was just that false sense of security they were trying to convey onto them. Todoroki going only blink as Dabi reached up, placing his hand right over his. His palm laying flat on the back of Todoroki's hand. The young Omega stared at their hands for a second. It was like Dabi was actually trying to comfort him. "Let us help him."
Todoroki shook his head again, looking away to turn his gaze back to Aizawa. "Rather you want our help or not, what do you plan on doing here? Can't you smell how sour his scent is?" Shigaraki went on, taking over for Dabi as Todoroki continued to look with concern at his teacher. He had never seen him like this. Not even when he was battered and broken at the USJ. Not when he was practically covered head to toe in bandages following the incident.
Todoroki was still bound determined not to let them by him. He planted his feet firmly on the ground, settling a glare in his eyes that he leveled on Dabi first since he was in front of him.
"I don't trust any of you." Todoroki hissed, "Why would I let you anywhere near him when he's like this?!"
Dabi cast him an unamused look. The Alpha man rolling his eyes a second later. "You have been awake for damn near two days. You really think you can fight any of us off like this?" Todoroki felt the air catch in his throat for a second as he balled his fists, dropping them down to his sides. "It wouldn't take much for us to get through you."
Now, that he could completely believe.
His heart was pounding against his chest as the shuffling came from behind him. His attention was completely ripped away from the villains as he turned around. The Omega let out a curse as he rushed forward as Aizawa was pushing himself up. Todoroki reached out, stabilizing the elder Omega by a hand on his chest. Grimacing from the heat that he felt under his palm.
"Aizawa-sensei, please, lay back down." Todoroki muttered. The worry was practically taking him over at this point as he tried and failed to get his teacher to lay back down.
Aizawa shook his head, placing a hand over his mouth as he caught Dabi saying, "He's going to hurl."
There was movement behind him before Shigaraki was taking a seat on the bed next to Aizawa. "Use this." This action had ripped a warning growl from Todoroki that went ignored as Shigaraki shoved a small trash bin underneath Aizawa. Within seconds, Aizawa had purged the little bit of food that had been on his stomach.
Todoroki shuffled around, getting onto his knees behind his teacher, moving to get his hair out of his face. Aizawa was trembling as he coughed and sputtered. His arms curling around the small can.
His attention had firmly been on Aizawa that he had almost missed Dabi approaching, kneeling down in front of the Omega with a quirked eyebrow. Todoroki had reacted to him, reaching out just as Dabi had, catching the Alpha's wrist in his hand, and letting out a growl. Dabi sighed, ignoring it as he jerked his hand forward, taking Aizawa's wrist into his fingers. "Fucking hell." Dabi exclaimed, jumping up a second later.
The action had caused Todoroki to jump as Aizawa winced. Dabi was already moving, pulling the bin from Aizawa's arms, letting out another string of curses. "What is it, Dabi?" Shigaraki questioned.
"I know what it is." Dabi hissed. "He's experiencing heat exhaustion. If we don't cool him down, the consequences could be severe."
Todoroki felt the panic as he jumped up as Dabi went to pull Aizawa up. He didn't think twice before he was shoving Dabi back. The Alpha stumbling for a second. Todoroki blinked, feeling the sweat drop for a second. This was the first time that he had done anything physically against the villains since he got here.
He knew how severe heat exhaustion could be, but his body had just reacted. Thinking of the impending danger of allowing Dabi to grab ahold of the older Omega. Todoroki pulled his hands back, using his own body as a shield for Aizawa.
"Shouto." Dabi hissed, leveling a sharp glance on him that had Todoroki pausing. "You know how bad heat exhaustion can be. I know the signs because I go through it. We have to get him cooled down immediately. He's going through a stress heat. He can't regulate anything right now."
Todoroki knew that Dabi was right, but his own instincts were trying to keep Dabi away from Aizawa. How could he possibly trust one of the men responsible for bringing them here? Responsible for kidnapping Bakugou back at the Training Camp. There was absolutely no way he could put a blind trust into these people.
"I have no reason to believe you are actually going to help him." The Omega hissed.
Dabi looked annoyed for a second as he turned back to face him, leaning in a bit as he growled out, "It is not in our cards to harm either of you, you idiot." Dabi paused for a second, exhaling sharply as Todoroki caught the whiff of sharp, intense pheromones starting to come from him. "You don't know a damn thing. Did you even try and figure out how we knew about that bastard Endeavor?!" Todoroki almost couldn't breathe from the lump that came to his throat. There was a lot of emotion swirling in the Alpha's voice. "I imprinted on your dumbass the second we brought you here. My instincts refuse to let me hurt you. I don't want to hurt you. Eraser is the one damn person who actually gave a shit about you for you. Why the hell would I want to hurt him now?!"
"Dabi—"
Dabi gave him a knowing look, turning towards the dresser and ripping open the top drawer. The Alpha rummaged through it for a moment before pulling out a bottle, "I didn't want you to find out." Dabi whispered, "You don't have to address me as Dabi." Todoroki could only stand there in disbelief as he watched Dabi pour the contents of the bottle out onto his head. The Omega was stunned as the watched the black bleed out of his hair and turn white. Dabi turned, giving him a slight smirk. The Alpha turned to face him completely, dropping the bottle from his hand. Tilting his head as he spread his arms out, palms up as he drawled out, "I've got a great name that you know… call me… Touya."
Todoroki was beyond stunned. His eyes widening as he felt his jaw starting to drop open. Unable to get any words out in his shock. His eyes locked to the white hair that had belonged to his eldest brother. A brother that died. Todoroki shook his head, the denials coming from him as he took a step back, "You're… lying. Touya's dead."
Dabi gave him a fond smile, reaching up and wiping at some of the black that had trailed down his face. "Touya died that day, and Dabi rose from the ashes."
"You are fucking serious?!" Shigaraki exclaimed, the shock in his voice for a moment before he was adding in a whisper, "That makes sense now."
"You dye your hair?" Twice questioned before immediately he was adding in a more high-pitched voice with, "You look like an old man!"
Todoroki didn't even know what to say. What was he supposed to do with this? Touya… died. Died from a quirk accident that left only his jaw. The Omega's eyes moved across the revealed parts of Dabi's body. Everything that he had learned about his eldest brother coming to mind. How his body held a weak constitution to fire. How he would burn himself with the use of his own quirk. The woods where he had died being consumed in blue flames. How Dabi addressed him when they first met. Like siblings teasing each other. How he seemed to have a connection to him that he couldn't figure out.
"Awestruck?" Dabi questioned, "Not every day your big brother comes back from the dead, now, is it?"
Todoroki felt like the world was spinning around him. Was he lied too? Was this true? There was no way that Dabi had poured white on his hair to fake it. The black dye was rushing down his skin. His eyes moved to the bottle. The bottle reading out: Rapid Hair Dye Removal.
His heart was racing as he felt his knees give out, sending him to the floor in his stunned state. No wonder Dabi had been acting so brotherly to him. Interjecting before anyone else could react to him if he decided to run his mouth.
"You don't have to believe the truth, Shouto." Dabi stated next, "You can deny it all you want, but I'm being honest when I say we want to protect you two. You two are our pack now. This misfit family has your back now. Which means, we rely on each other. So, will you let us help him. You know the risks of heat exhaustion."
Todoroki couldn't even deny it now. He just nodded his head whispering out, "Please help him."
Dabi immediately moved, shouting out, "Compress! Go start the shower as cold as you can get it! Toga! Go get a glass of cold water!" He instructed. Todoroki still hadn't moved, all the energy that he had from his adrenaline pumping starting to seep out of him. He managed to turn his head as Dabi had finally grabbed ahold of Aizawa, hauling him up as he looked at Shigaraki, "Come with me." Shigaraki had already gotten back to his feet, moving to Aizawa's other side as the two Alphas threw his arms over their shoulders. Dabi looked at him for a second and nodded, "C'mon." He quirked his head towards the door, motioning for them to leave the room.
Todoroki stumbled back to his feet, rushing after the three as he kept his eyes locked to Dabi. He barely caught Shigaraki hissing out, "Is that seriously why you wouldn't tell me your real damn name?! You're the Number Two Bastard's son?!"
Dabi hummed, "I have to redo my fucking hair now." He grumbled. "Ask questions later. Right now, we have to help Eraser."
It only took them a moment to get to the bathroom where Compress had already started up the shower. The bathroom was rather large that they were all able to be in the room at the same time. Todoroki pressed his back into the wall, feeling the tears coming to his eyes.
Dabi was cursing up a storm as the Alpha started to rip away at the clothes that were on Aizawa. Pulling off his overshirt, leaving him in his tank top. Showing off some more of the bruises that littered the pale skin. Aizawa was still out of it, but he was still at least conscious. Dabi looked at Shigaraki, letting his gaze move to Todoroki just briefly, before he was adding, "An Alpha's bare skin and pheromones can help with this." He stated.
Todoroki pushed off of the wall, letting out a shout as the three looked at him. "You can't! He's married!"
"We can't really help that right now!" Dabi exclaimed, "Do you want us to help him or not?! It's one of the quickest ways to calm Omega instincts! You know that! We rely on our own."
Todoroki exhaled sharply as he caved. "Just… make him better."
Dabi looked back at Shigaraki and nodded. Shigaraki took the moment, pulling all the hands off of him as well as his shirt. Todoroki blinked for a moment. Shigaraki had buffed out a bit. He definitely wasn't the same skinny guy from before. He hated the idea that Shigaraki was going to be doing such an intimate thing with Aizawa. Aizawa never had eyes for anyone but Present Mic. He had seen it right in his eyes. He didn't look at anyone like he looked at his husband. He could feel the ping of guilt going through him about it. Aizawa wouldn't want this, but Dabi was adamant that it would help.
Dabi had passed Aizawa off to Shigaraki, taking the second to adjust Aizawa so his nose was right in the crock of Shigaraki's neck. Where his scent gland would be before he was practically shoving the two under the freezing spray. "Fucking cold." Shigaraki hissed, his back slamming against the shower wall as he maneuvered to get Aizawa under it.
The Flame Alpha turned away from them, marching towards the door as he stuck his head out to yell out, "Kurogiri! We need some benzos!"
As Dabi turned back towards them, he stopped at Todoroki. Todoroki took a moment to just look at him. The more he looked at Dabi, the more he did see Touya's features in him. He was so much older and well burnt but they were there. "Is it really…"
Dabi nodded. "It was the only thing I could think of that would make you believe I have no intention to harm either of you." He whispered. "If you really don't believe me, just lean in and I'll try to give off my scent. My scent glands are all burnt up, so it makes letting it through so much harder."
Todoroki wasn't sure what complied him. If it was because he could see it being true or he wanted the confirmation. He leaned in, letting his nose graze over where Dabi's scent gland was located. It took a few minutes, but he finally caught it. It was so weak, but it was there.
Amber and cedarwood.
The scent that had belonged to Touya. He barely remembered it, but there would be a few nights that his siblings would sneak over to see him in the middle of the night. It had been so long ago that he almost didn't remember it at all. If there was one thing that couldn't be faked was a scent.
"It really is you." Todoroki whispered.
Before he knew it, the Omega was leaning in, letting the tears flow freely as he wrapped his arms around his brother. His eyes widened as the realization completely dawned on him. His brother was Dabi. A villain.
"For so long," Dabi paused as Todoroki turned his gaze enough to look at him. Dabi looked almost upset. "I wanted to kill you. To kill the masterpiece that he treasured so much. His sick obsession with having to have such a perfect thing." There was so much distain in Dabi's voice. "Then we hatched our plan and we needed someone to be the person to help us persuade Eraserhead, and I picked you. It was out of pure selfishness. Thinking that I could kill you if I brought you here."
Todoroki took a step back, reaching up and wiping at his eyes as he listened to Dabi practically spill his heart out. Dabi wanted him dead. At least, he had. "You…"
"Then you got here, and it was like this switch had been flipped. You're nothing like what I made you out to be in my head. You're just this kid who wants to protect his pack. You show more of what it means to be a hero than that bastard does." Todoroki wanted to retort. Tell him that there was a reason that Endeavor was the Number Two Hero. Endeavor was a shit father. Something Todoroki knew he couldn't forgive yet. It still sent so much anger and hurt through him.
But here Dabi was.
And Dabi was Touya.
"Why didn't you… just come home?" Todoroki whispered.
Dabi let out a laugh, shaking his head as he turned to grab a towel, wetting it before he was scrubbing at his unburned skin. "As if I return back to that place."
"It…" Todoroki started, his voice trailing as he made eye contact with Dabi through the mirror. "It only got worse after you died."
"I know." Dabi replied, returning back to what he was doing. "I've watched you guys for so long." He was quick to finish what he had been doing as he turned back to face Todoroki again. "I was never planning on telling you yet. "The Hero Commission covered up my death. As far as I'm concerned, Touya Todoroki is still dead." He wasn't able to say anything back to him as Kurogiri came back into the room, handing the bottle of pills that Dabi had asked for to him.
For a split second, there was a part of him that never wanted Dabi to get caught, but Dabi was a criminal. He had done heinous crimes. He had to pay for them. Yet, there was still a part of him that didn't want that. Todoroki nodded, looking back over to Shigaraki and Aizawa. Shigaraki was shivering, but he was keeping Aizawa underneath the water, being careful of the water in his face. It was so gentle. Like the action of a pack member to someone else.
Dabi kept referring to them as pack.
There couldn't be a possible way that they somehow got pulled into their pack without them knowing. Though, there was that slime chance. It happened to Class 1-A and Aizawa. They formed a pack. Dabi walked forward, kneeling down next to the spray as he dumped a few pills into his palm and muttered to his leader. Shigaraki was shuffled, carefully pulling Aizawa's head back. "Alright, Eraser. You gotta take these. This will help you relax."
Aizawa was looking slightly more coherent than before as he dropped open his mouth slightly, letting Dabi dropped the pills in. Toga had came in practically on cue with the water as she muttered out an apology about running into the others on her way back and handed it to Shigaraki.
Todoroki had kept a close eye on Shigaraki's movements, walking a bit closer to them. Kneeling down right next to the shower as he looked at Aizawa. He did look a bit better than he had before. His breathing was more even than it had been. His eyes were closed again, but it was probably from the fact that Shigaraki was tilting his head back down and pouring a bit of the water into his mouth.
He had ignored Shigaraki's words in favor of paying attention to Aizawa. He looked completely relaxed. He was shivering, which was understandable from the cold water beating against his skin.
"We'll need to get him into some fresh clothes." Shigaraki stated. "He's body temperature seems to be going down now."
Todoroki sighed in relief, leaning back against his legs. He almost hated how they were being truthful in helping Aizawa. There was the lingering thought that they were just putting on a show, but then there was the whole Touya situation. Why would Dabi reveal that to him? Just to get him to hand Aizawa over. He was right in saying that they could have easily overpowered him. He couldn't use his quirk. He was dead on his feet. He was running purely on adrenaline at this point. Todoroki was sure he could have just shoved him out of the way, and he might not have been able to get up.
The more he surveyed them, the more freaked out they seemed to be at the thought that Aizawa was ill. He wouldn't necessarily say ill, but more of a side effect. He had never heard of a heat doing this to someone, but just minutes ago, he thought his eldest brother was dead.
"That's enough time under the water." Dabi stated, "Let's get him back to the room and into some loose clothing."
Shigaraki had moved, scooping up the Omega with him as he stood. Shifting the hero's weight in his arms before he was taking the charge to head back to the room. They were met in the hall by Twice, Magne, and Spinner. Todoroki wanted to be surprised to see their concern, but it was there. Pinging in the back of his mind that this is what was supposed to be happening. They had all been honest with him the entire time he had been here. He wasn't even sure how long it had been since they got here. Dabi had stuck close to Shigaraki, looking prepared to help the Alpha if he needed it.
Todoroki's mind was swimming. So many questions going through his head that he wanted to ask. Toga was walking by him. Her face covered in worry as she whispered, "I don't really know much about Omegas… is he going to be okay?"
Todoroki side eyed her for a second and nodded, "Yeah." At least, he hoped so. He wasn't sure what else these villains would throw at them. Aizawa had been taking the brunt of it the entire time.
All his time had been spent on hearing about the lives of these villains. What they had been through. The more he heard from them, the more he understood them. He could have turned out that way if it hadn't been for U.A. For Aizawa. For Midoriya. Almost subconsciously, he had reached up, his fingers grazing over the scar on his face.
These people wanted to live life the way they wanted, and he wanted a life where he was just him. He had that with Class 1-A. At least, with some of them. With the likes of Midoriya and Bakugou specifically. Bakugou had became an unlikely friend of his despite his temperament.
He missed his class. His missed his friends. He missed Midoriya. He wanted to go home, but there was a split second that he felt like he didn't want to go back. That he wanted to stay here and learn more about them. That he wanted to stay for Touya. He wanted to know what happened to him. Why he ended up aligned with the League of Villains.
He let his thoughts fade away into the depths of his mind as they got back to the room and Dabi was already starting to dig through the dresser, pulling out a large white shirt and tossing it towards Shigaraki along with a new pair of undergarments. Dabi was still rattling off instructions of what they needed to do to help with the symptoms of heat exhaustion as Shigaraki got Aizawa back to his feet. Using the combined efforts of himself, Dabi, and Magne to get the Omega changed.
It was almost like Aizawa was in a drug induced state with the way that he swayed around. Shigaraki led him back towards the bed, getting him on his back as Kurogiri handed over a moist hand towel to place on his forehead. Todoroki didn't miss the way that Aizawa's hand reached out, latching onto Shigaraki's wrist as the Alpha villain went to back away. Shigaraki grumbled about it before he took a seat next to him, frowning as he muttered about it being all Dabi's fault that the Omega was now clinging to him.
Eyes turned to him expectantly as Todoroki blinked. Dabi had a smirk back on his face as he said, "What? Not going to kick us out again?"
Todoroki's mouth dropped open, but he couldn't actually get the words out. The Omega teenager took a second, bracing himself and taking a deep breath before he was saying, "I want to know what happened to you."
Dabi looked away for a second, sighing as he said, "You need to get some sleep, Shouto. You've been awake far too long. I'm surprised that you are even rational right now."
Todoroki shook his head, almost pleading as he whispered, "I need to know."
The two locked eyes for a second. Almost like a battle of dominance between the two before finally, Dabi relented. "Only if you lay down and get some sleep." Todoroki eyed the bed for a second, slipping out of his shoes before he was crawling up by Aizawa. Turning to sit and face Dabi. The Alpha shrugged, muttering out, "Well, that's fair." Dabi took a seat on the edge of the bed, kicking up his feet. "I guess I'll start from the beginning."
X
His vision was blurry as Shouta cracked open his eyes, grimacing from the splitting headache that he had. He could smell the lingering heat pheromones in the air, but his mind was much clearer than it was before. He could barely recall what had happened. How he had gotten sick, and Shigaraki offered him a trash bin. Todoroki stepping between him and the others. The ice-cold water on his skin. How relieving that it felt. The scent that had been in his nose. How safe it felt.
If he didn't know better, it would have felt like he was back in the safety of his apartment with Hizashi. The only thing that told him that it was in fact not Hizashi was the scent. It wasn't his husband's.
Shouta groaned as his pushed himself up. The room was dim. Barely any light in it, but he had stopped as he realized that he wasn't alone, and it wasn't even just Todoroki. Todoroki was curled up next to him. A blanket thrown over him with his nose buried in the pillow that Shouta's head had been on. The Omega teenager looked exhausted, judging by the deep, purple bruises underneath his eyes. He hadn't slept in days. On his other side was Shigaraki, fast asleep with his back against the headboard, his head lulled to the side. At Todoroki's feet was Dabi. Who who was practically bent in half. His legs stretched on the bottom of the bed while his back was to the wall, but he was laying against the bed with his face close to the back of Todoroki's calves.
He looked around in astonishment for a second. Also finding the rest of the League of Villains sprawled out across the room. Pillows and blankets everywhere. The only person missing was Kurogiri. It surprised him even more to see that they were all fast asleep. Completely comfortable with the fact that they were all in there.
He sat there for a moment, letting his mind linger back to what he could recall from the last few days. They had actually cared for him. Getting him everything that he had needed. Keeping a respectable distance away from him even as he was lost in the ecstasy of his mind. He still had a few days of his normal heat cycle ahead of him, but at least he was lucid. He hated going into heats unmedicated. Lucidity being one of the main reasons. His gut was screaming at him, and his thighs were sticking uncomfortably together.
He could remember how gentle their hands had been. Even making sure not to touch him in any intimate spots. Never letting their hands linger long. It felt almost wrong that they had been so kind to him. They had every chance just to take advantage of him. Mark his skin. His heart skipped a beat as he rose his hand, letting it settle on his neck. The Omega thanked everything that he didn't feel anything there. Everyone held four bond glands, but even just one being marked could change everything. He didn't feel any different, but he also didn't know what it felt like to be physically bound to someone. Only emotionally. Physical bonds were held to a completely different standard compared to just emotional ones. It was like a marriage. Locking two people together. It was also viewed higher than marriage.
Most people would bond with one another, but it was very much possible to marry someone else who wasn't their bond mate. It happened often. However, the bond mate would hold the highest obligation if something were to happen.
If he had to say if he feared something, it would be to be bonded to someone in that manner. He couldn't bear the thought of losing someone after being marked by them and being left to pick up the pieces. He had heard the horror stories of bond mates even losing their sanity after the death of their mate. It's another reason marriage was still a common practice. Legally binding someone to another without the risks of holding a bond with them. No strings attached. It wasn't easy to break a bond. It was possible, but in the end, it could do more harm to the body.
He peered back at Shigaraki, his scent lingering in his nose. Shigaraki was shirtless and where he was had been where Shouta had been laying. They hadn't done anything to him, but knew skin on skin contact could help an Omega in an intense heat? He almost couldn't believe it.
As the memories started to come flooding back, the guilt started to eat away at him. He had actually craved Shigaraki's touch. The comfort that he was providing to him when he was in such a vulnerable position. This was the same villain he fought at the USJ. Who threatened the lives of his students. His kids. He was behind Bakugou's kidnapping. He had done so many bad things, but Shouta had allowed him to fall into his instincts.
There was ping in the back of his mind, wanting to reach out again. He knew it was the heat talking. Wanting to be close to the person who had been right there with him. It felt like he had betrayed Hizashi. His husband. His life partner. The person who he would bond in seconds if it wasn't for the thought lingering in the back of his mind.
It wasn't what made the situation worse.
He knew exactly why he wanted to be close to Shigaraki in that moment.
He had scent bonded to him.
In his moment of weakness, he had accepted Shigaraki as pack.
How could he be so stupid?!
It wasn't him thinking clearly. He knew that. It still rushed through him. Screaming at him that it was okay, yet everything else was telling him that he had made a huge mistake. It wasn't something in his control. He was positive that even Shigaraki had no idea it had happened. Maybe, he did and that's why he was here.
He pulled his legs up, ignoring the feel of slick against his skin as he buried his nose into the sheet. Hizashi… I'm so sorry. He had betrayed Hizashi. If the heroes ever found out, they would believe that it had been on purpose. Maybe, they would believe him when he said that it was completely accidental, but he couldn't guarantee that it would be seen in that light.
His accidental accepting of Shigaraki would have repercussions. It also meant that he had accepted them all. Anyone who Shigaraki held a bond with.
He could attempt to hide it, but if it ever came down too it, his instincts would take over.
He had just gotten himself into a big mess, and he wasn't sure how to fix it now.
Even though he had barely been lucid, he could hear Shigaraki's words from under the cold spray still lingering in the depths of his mind, "You belong to us now."
Author's Note: So, I am currently leaving the door open about the whole All Might is Shouta's father thing. I've had two responses so far. One for it, one against it. Let me know your thoughts below.
