Back on Olympus
"He called himself The Destroyer" on that Poseidon and Zeus looked at each other worriedly. Hera and Demeter shivered, scared that Perseus would blame them for what happened all that time ago. All these reactions were noticed in the corner of council room by a little girl with flames is her eyes as the hearth turned a little brighter. Athena, not known as the goddess of wisdom for nothing, also noticed these reactions and said "I can tell you recognise him, why are you so afraid of one man?"
"We are not!" Zeus replied but before he could finish speaking Hera cut across him and said, "Zeus he won't forgive us , he will come for us and unless you think you can trick him again we need them to fight with us. Especially if Hades has joined him."
Demeter merely said "They need to know the truth."
Hestia finally decided to cut in said "Enough!"
Zeus didn't look happy but said nothing as Hestia begun the story…
"Let me tell you about the destroyer, the conqueror of the damned and the Lord of time and death. My brother and your uncle, Perseus."
Poseidon then begun to talk, "eons ago before we were born, and even before Kronos had slayed Ouranus, our father had an affair with one of the Keres. Perseus was the result of that unholy union and thus was granted the domains of time and death by his aunts, the Fates."
Demeter the continued, "He spent his formative years learning the languages of the time with Mnemosyne, training his domains with the crooked one and sparring with Iapetus; however when he wasn't doing that he was down in Tartarus being trained by his grandmother, mother and uncle about the other said of his domain, his powers over the night and the best way to kill monsters." "Who was his uncle?" Questioned Athena, always curious about things she didn't know. Hestia decided to reply, "While he had many uncles, he was only truly close to one brother of Nyx, Tartarus. He always thought that Tartarus only agreed to it so he could torture him but he never gave up and always tried to do his best in their spars. I even remember that closer to when he was banished he had a skill only spar with Tartarus and won."
"He was happy that day." Hear mused quietly,
Hestia then continued "it all changed after our father attacked Ouranus and made home fade, initially I was born by my mother Rhea and was adored by everyone, but not for long. Soon after that Kronos was given a prophecy by Pheobe saying that his children would end up being the end of him. Once he heard this he marched straight up to me and swallowed me whole; the next 4 times mother announced she was pregnant Kronos got ready to eat them and so one by one Hades, Hera, Poseidon and Demeter were swallowed."
"Why wasn't Perseus eaten?" Apollo questioned.
Hera replied "Perseus had spent his time alive building up a rapport with all the other titans and proving his loyalty so father dearest didn't really think that Perseus would be the one to betray him." "Either think that Perseus would betray them."
Zeus suddenly spoke up, "from there it was all as you know it to be the only difference is that there was only one place we couldn't capture. The palace of Perseus, every time we attacked him he would beat us back without even trying; soon we realised that there was no point in unnecessary casualties so we left him in peace. After all he didn't help the Titans he just pursued neutrality, before we thought it was because he knew that the Titans were going to lose, only after the was did we realise the true reason. Calypso had requested that he stay out of it and Perseus, being quite smitten with her reluctantly agreed."way getting back to the story, Rhea found out once more that she was pregnant and this time instead of announcing it she decided to say she was going to an obscure mountain to pray to Lady Chaos to avoid having any more children as her heart couldn't take; once there she delivered Zeus with the help of a local nymph and raised him for a year."
