Prologue

(This bit follows the first encounter with DIO Over Heaven in Eyes of Heaven. For reference, watch this video up to 5:30 in: DIO Over Heaven)

?

"The Holy Corpse repels all evil," a voice spoke from a distance, walking menacingly as it lured closer to the mass of people that suddenly appeared.

"However, at the same time, it also seeks its other parts." The voice grew closer, the constant drip of the ground splashing. What they seemed to be standing on was an infinite edge, solid yet glistened as if it had just rained. Space was all that could be seen as one looked up.

The figure kept walking, "The parts you wield… reacted to the spine I possess, and drew you into this main world…" Then, a sudden stop.

The figure was a tall character, covered in yellow and white from head to toe. Gold gauntlets braced slightly above the elbows, films with a letter D carved on each slide. Knee bands, chest band, and belt, all gold with a D holding them in place. White clothing covered the pure white skin painted on, almost giving the illusion of a blend. His hair was grown out long enough to reach his neck, split in half on each side. His cheeks could spell out a name, but it was hard to see it from that distance.

A new voice emerged from the crowd, "Gimme a break… I don't want to believe it, but there's no doubting what I am seeing right now… DIO!"

The 17-year-old in a black coat and pants. A gold chain doused his coat, and a hat that seemingly blended with his hair, no margin traceable. Jotaro Kujo, along with his Joestar ancestors and descendants, stood gazing DIO in the eye. The words on DIO's head simply read his name, yet stood for something much greater. Jotaro had earlier defeated DIO on a bridge in Egypt, yet this DIO was seemingly different in appearance, yet same in personality. This world they were in was near, yet far.

Anger and frustration were easily visible amongst the group of Joestars. This was a man who had turned their lives upside down in some way or another, and here he was, reincarnated.

If I defeat him, Gyro will come back!, though a certain member of the group. His name was Johnny Joestar. His longing for his dead friend, Gyro Zeppeli, had made him act before he could think. He charged forward with his horse, target locked on DIO. "Tusk, Act 4!" He called from his Stand to give him his Spin ability. His fingernails shot forth, spinning like bullets.

"So that's the energy that put Valentine in checkmate," DIO spoke, "Useless!" His Stand simply punched the incoming projectile, invalidating it. It caused the nail bullets to disappear, in front of Johnny's eyes. Johnny and his horse stood, dazed, "Wha-?"

Before long, DIO came charging forward, ready to strike Johnny, when another face emerged from the crowd. It was that of the tall blonde mafia boss hailing from Italy, Giorno Giovanna.

"Gold Experience Requiem!" he called his Stand as it tried to land a hit. DIO quickly countered with a punch from his own Stand, The World.

"You will never reach the truth!", Giorno cried out, but his efforts were futile, as the space where the punch met began to warp and distort, and the punch was unable to connect.

Jotaro rushed forward quickly. "Star Platinum!" he called and his Stand emerged. A sudden surge of power allowed him to land a hit on DIO's head, sending DIO a few steps back. His hand was held on the spot on his head where the impact was, still shocked by the blow. Yet the pain quickly subsided as he let out a menacing cackle.

"What?!" Jotaro questioned, and with such quickness, DIO's wound healed completely as if it wasn't even there.

"Such weakness!" Dio cried out, and his Stand brought blow after blow after blow on Johnny, Giorno, and Jotaro, "USELESS! USELESS! USELESS! USELESS! USELESS!", the punches sending them flying a few feet out.

Another call came from the Joestar crowd, "Oh no! Jotaro! Everybody! They've all been beaten!", came from Robert E.O. Speedwagon, the thug-turned British philanthropist assisting the Joestars for generations to come.

The beaten recovered only to their knees, the events that just occurred puzzling their minds.

"What...What happened?" Giorno exclaimed, "Why didn't Requiem work?!"

"He took a direct hit from Echoes Act 4!", Jonny yelled, the sensation of agony running through his paralyzed legs, "Why did nothing happen?!"

Jotaro got up to one knee, piece the events that had just occurred, "I know that I felt Star Platinum smash his skull in." His eyes gazed with a stronger glare than before.

"This power is completely different from vampiric regeneration or the World's ability to stop time…"

DIO responded to Jotaro's observation with one of his own, "I was told the Joestars had defeated me here in this main world...But if those Stands are all you got, I've failed to see how!", and with his exclamation, he drew out the spine of the Holy Corpse he possessed.

All of a sudden, a pulse resonated from the rest of the Joestars, emanating in their bodies. The Corpse Parts they had collected sprang up and rose from their owners, drawn by a mysterious force toward DIO and the spine. Seven parts resonated deeply with the Spine held high in the air.

"The parts you have gathered pulled the spine to you along with me, DIO! And now, it's the spine's turn to pull all your corpse parts towards me!"

The Corpse Parts moved even closer to each other, latching on to the corresponding parts. The parts were absorbed by DIO and a surge of energy sprouted out from underneath DIO, embracing him in tons of energy. His laugh was even stronger than before, his cackles echoed throughout this "world" they were in.

"This feels fantastic, Joestars!", the laughs grew stronger, "Bow down before my reality."

The surge stopped for a brief moment. Jotaro stood up, grabbing the Corpse Part that he still held on to. He held it waist level, close to his body.

"Hmph," DIO scoffed, "You still have one Corpse Part left. And you seem as if you're not going to let go of it. So be it."

With a flick of his wrist, some beams of light went towards Jotaro's direction, and towards his pocket.

"I've given the rest of your little friends back. At this moment, their friends are still waiting for you in the turtle, meaning no souls to consume. Oh no, however shall I claim the last bit of power I so desperately seek?", DIO feigned defeat, his eyes beginning to burn with utmost monstrosity.

"What if I told you there was another way to claim this power… another world, no… another UNIVERSE, where everyone has powers of their own, and a society, full of sin, little morality where these powers are visible to everyone! I can gather the souls and become the Ultimate Being Over Heaven! I'll become a deity over every dominion in existence, and it starts with this!" He held up a small strand of green hair, only a centimeter thick and less than 10 centimeters long.

"This strand of hair is the key to becoming all-powerful. An inherited power I can use at any time...but I'm going to save it for a special occasion...for now…" DIO threw the strand up in the air and with a 1/1000th precision, stuck a deep blow into that strand of hair….it vanished...and then:

The ground began to shake with such a strong intensity.

"E-Earthquake?!" the scared Speedwagon called out. Even he was afraid.

"No, something much different. Be careful." Giorno called out.

The quake rocking their feet grew even stronger, the sky shaking in a different direction. Out of nowhere, a huge, black void formed right near DIO warping the space around him. DIO let out a menacing cackle as he announced to the Joestars.

"Good luck, Joestars! Let's see if you can make it back alive! Think of all the blood that will be on your hands. Hope to see you again soon!" In the blink of an eye, DIO had disappeared from the Joestar's field of vision.

There was nothing to hold onto. Nothing to stop the infinite suction of the void. The hole grew even bigger, dragging the Joestars in one by one. As Jotaro kept falling in the void, his eyes slowly closed, succumbing to a deep, unwanted slumber. Then, many voices flew around in his head, yelling at him a message he could not yet decipher.
