Disclaimer: I do not own Card Captor Sakura.
Summary:When Sakura left for America for her studies, Syaoran never showed up to see her go and they ended up separating in the most unconvinient way. With no communication for over eight years, old emotions gets stirred up the moment they see each other again. But things are not as simple as it used to be... Hearts had already been broken...
A/N: I'm not sure where this is going. The idea just came to me while I was reviewing for a long exam... (I know, they come in the most unconvenient times...) But I just had to write it before it all disappear from my head... Hope you like this though. Honestly, I already have an ending for it, but no middle (LOL!). Well... enjoy! And please leave me a review ok? Thanks!
Separate Hearts
Prologue
I can't seem to stop squirming in my seat everytime the thought that I'm finally going back hits me. It's been eight long years since I last saw dad and Touya. I tried to convince them it wouldn't be such a good idea to send me off to America for my studies, but they wouldn't listen. I guess stubborness runs in the family. Well, it wasn't really at all a waste if you ask me. On the contrary, I improved a lot over my stay there. Now, I love Math! But of course, I still love P.E. the most. I gained plenty of new friends, some of them Japanese like myself. I was kinda hoping they'd be able to join me on my trip back, but they had loads to do and decided they'd stay. Well, I can't blame them, all our teachers gave us something to work on over the Christmas break that even I was hesitant about this trip at first. But then again, homesickness got the better of me in the end.
I let out another sigh to ease my overflowing anxiousness. I'm just too excited to go home! I wonder how everyone's doing... I can't wait to see them! Chiharu, Rika, Naoko, Yamazaki, Yukito, and of course Tomoyo. Although, we've kept in touch through all those years, it's still different to be able to see them in the flesh. I bet they all look beautiful!... Oh! And handsome!
I opened my bag and took out the last class picture I have of everyone. I smiled at all the innocent faces looking back at me. Those were the days...
My eyes accidentally fell at the boy behind my ten-year-old self. He had messy chestnut brown hair and amber eyes. His right hand was placed over my younger version's shoulder and his cheeks were slightly pink... Li Syaoran... I remember him. We were really close - me, Tomoyo, him, and his cousin Meiling. They moved from Hong Kong when I was nine and we did all sorts of fun together. But... he didn't come to say goodbye to me even before I boarded the plane with my sort-of-a-big-sister Mizuki, Touya's girl friend back then who studied at America too. We haven't had contact ever since. I wonder if he's mad at me for leaving... Does he still even live in Tomoeda? Tomoyo never mentioned him in any of her e-mails...
"Attention all passengers." the head flight attendant's voice jolted me out of memory lane. "We will be landing in Tomoeda Airport a few minutes from now, so please buckle up your seatbelts. Remove any items placed on top of the food tray, push it back, and lock it to avoid loss of any of your belongings. Thank you!"
I placed the photo back into my bag and buckled up my seatbelt.
It didn't take too long before the captain announce the landing, and before I knew it, I was at the baggage counter getting my things.
Finally...
