After the events which happened in Arcadia I had to run. Literally. For some reason, despite I was the one who stopped the last of the Arcane Order from destroying the world, I was the one blamed for the destruction and loss of lives those witches caused.

They called me a terrorist.

I was thinking what my friend Toby would told me to do as I knew he was a fan of espionage thrillers, but... but he died just to help me.

After the tragic events, the city began to rebuild. Well, at least that's what the government said. The city was sealed off by the United States Army as a no-go zone.

A lot of people lost their homes after the destruction of the city, including me and my mother. I don't have to say how the loss of loved ones made us feel.

The refugees from Arcadia were sent to refugee camps from where people were supposed to move to other cities. At first it looked like my class was going to have a remote lesson, but me, Claire, Steve and Eli, and my classmates were going to transfer to other high schools.

I was at least hoping to be at the same school with her so we could graduate together. The government sent her family to Houston, Texas, while FEMA and the military tried to take control of the situation.
I felt so bad about it all instinctively. I've had experienced timeline resets before, and even though me and my friends got caught in one of them, it wasn't hard to imagine what they'd do to us.

That the Texas thing about my girlfriend was a lie I understood as soon as I was about to enter a provisional school in a refugee camp.

"James Lake Junior?" I was stopped at the school entrance by 2 men whose clothes reminded me of Men in Black.

"CIA," They showed their badges "we have a few questions."

"W-why?" I stammered while I felt a rush of adrenaline.
"Terrorist attack in Arcadia Oaks, you are one of the suspects."

"What the hell are you talking about, I'm not a terrorist!"

"Yes, you are, you've been on a watchlist for a while."

The two agents forcibly towed me into what appeared to be a secret service van that looked like a grocery van.

"Because of the events associated with you that took place in the city, we had to watch you. The satellites took care of it. You already have the records. Museum break-in, arrested in Metro City. The CIA can still attribute uncommanded arming, participation in a terrorist group, preparation of a terrorist attack."

"What kind of crap are you talking? I stopped your real terrorists." I barked.

I got my first punch.

"Don't make fools of the agents. You've had an easy access to the explosives."

I felt I'm starting getting angry due to their ignorance.

"Yes, I tried to stop them!"

Instead of getting another hit, they just said:

"And your step-father died as a suicide bomber."

I was silent for a while after they mentioned Strickler, but then started to beating me during interrogation.

"How many of you are in the group!? All human, alien or troll!? Who is your supplier!?"

I felt as they grabbed my shirt, and I felt the cold as I was sweating.

"Have you ever thought why you are on the watchlist even though you stopped the real terrorists as you say!?"

"Because it was a matter of time until I stop trust the goverment and start plotting a conspiracy against the goverment?"

"Yes!"

After I was beaten up a little bit, they left for a while. I saw the cameras in the car and wondered how to get out. I still have the amulet with me... I could.. That's when I figured out what I was going to do. I'll steal the van.

"For the good of all, Daylight is mine to command!"

Before agents could realize I activated the amulet, it was too late.

I was thinking about finding my friends and telling them we're persecuted now.

As I was driving the van with police behind my back, I immediately called my girlfriend Claire.

"Claire, listen to me, even though we saved the world they're after us. Take your parents and your brother, and get out of here. I need to get the gang back together, so if you can find Steve, Eli and Douxie. Aja and Krel will definitely help us. Now I'm going to get my mum, I'm going to meet you. Don't forget to destroy the phones or the Secret Service will track you down." I left Claire a voice message.

When I came to get my mom to take her away, I was in shock as her condition worsened since her fiancé died. I knew my mom was dying.

"Mom, it's not safe in the camp anymore, we have to get out of here or you'll get hurt." I was trying to help her get up as fast I could, I had only seconds before they stop at our provisional home.

"Jim..." she spoke to me with a weak voice. Tears then started filling my eyes when I realized my mom wasn't eating what I cooked her anymore, she was starving.

"Mom! Mom!" I shaked with her to get my attention from her, but she was so weak she didn't respond. I hugged mom and cried.

When I heard sounds from outside, I knew I had to disseapear, but I was right now broken because my mom just died in my arms.

I grabbed a picture from before my dad left us of me keeping it as a memory, and I ran off on foot outside the camp. Claire just called me back.

"Jim, I know where we should meet. I'll help you get here, so destroy your phone, too."

"Okay."

"Jim, are you fine?"

"I'll tell you when I'll see you again personally, I'm not in the mood right now."

"See you again."

"You too."

I hung up and stomped on the phone. Tears were still flowing from my eyes and I was running into the deep forest as I heard they just let dogs to track me and chase me.
